She left due to a contract dispute. I believe she demanded that she be paid as much as the other supporting actors. Had she been paid that, she would have never left
@@ratatouille6522 What a shame. I, personally, always thought that the Sharona character was better than the the one that took her place. Natalie I think.
Hey everyone, this is a general reply to everybody wondering about this. I have a bunch of Bitty Schram's interviews on my computer talking about what happened in a lot of detail, so this info comes straight from her. According to 4 different interviews with Bitty Schram: Long story short, the executive producers were recruiting Bitty to do production work that was outside of her occupational role (such as editing the show) after Dean Parisot quit and left them shorthanded, and they never paid her for it. Turned out that what they were having her do was in direct violation against actor regulations, and when she brought it up with them they promised her they'd make sure nobody got in trouble for it, but since the network wouldn't replace Dean they said they really needed her help and begged her to stay on board. Bitty: "I was afraid, because they're really crazy about these rules and regulations. ..He reassured me over and over: No, no, don't worry. You're not going to get in any trouble. .. He begged me to help them." She was doing this additional work for them by their request on her own time without pay, plus working 14-18 hours a day as an actress and for the lowest pay out of the main actors in her original contract. Upper management ended up finding out about it and she was verbally assaulted by them for violating regulations. When she reached out to the executive producer asking "What happened? I thought you said no one would get in trouble?" They were dead silent, washed their hands of it, and left her to the wolves. She said in one interview that she remembered thinking to herself "This is the end of me. I'm screwed here." She also mentioned feeling completely alone. "Nobody had my back. They used me, and then they threw me under the bus when they had to take responsibility." She ended up taking the fall for them. When she asked to be compensated fairly for her unpaid work, to improve her original contract so that she was paid the same as the other two supporting actors on the show (Ted/Stottlemeyer was being paid almost 2x what they were paying her, even though she had equal or more screen time), they fired her. @ratatouille just to clear up the rumors, she wasn't asking to be paid the same as the main star. She was asking to be paid the same as the other supporting actors. Also she didn't leave, she was fired. OP is correct, they didn't pay her fairly, and they also exploited her, deceived her, and betrayed her. Really sad what she went through. :(
@@finnagain642 Amazing... My two cents, she should have definitely been compensated better and treated better. Sadly, I’m not surprised. Hope she is doing well both personally and otherwise... Thanks for the update.
I don’t even understand how she isn’t everyone’s favorite character.. not only did she bring humor and sassiness and attitude but oh it’s so refreshing having a main female character in a literal sausagefest show 🥲
Finished watching the entire show for the first time. Sharona truly carried, episode by episode the role of assistant with a great personality. Of course I preferred her.
my grandma loves watching monk and she loves sharona! ever since my grandpa died its hard to find things for her that make her laugh but monk and sharona makes her smile and laugh so much and brings her so much joy 🥰 she loves monk and relates to his loss of spouse but she always says she thinks sharona is the funniest. she will love this vid! tysm!
Lol "What you doing?" "Hey you cant do that?" "You can't lick the queen" "She's my queen" "There's a no licking the Queen rule?" You have been moving pieces throughout this entire game"

carried the show on her back and did it wearing a miniskirt and four inch boots...what an icon
I absolutely loved Sharona. She didn’t enable Monk’s more extreme nonsense but was also rather protective of him. Truly wished they paid her fairly.
Please expand on that... I didn’t know she wasn’t paid fairly...
She left due to a contract dispute. I believe she demanded that she be paid as much as the other supporting actors. Had she been paid that, she would have never left

Best chess move ever.
Sharona was the best.

show so simple yet so brilliant. 4-5 totally different characters working together and staying friends despite having almost nothing in common.
I love the monkey response.
I about to watch the movie via Peacock, would hope they reprised her character🤗
