Yes! I'm from Saskatchewan, and I love winter. I really don't like summer at all. When I was a kid, we were always out playing in winter, walking to school. Didn't matter if it was -40 or only -20. We made snow huts, snowmen, had snow fights, etc. Folks here seem to collectively hate winter, and I have no idea why. I sometimes think it's just a learned behavior, a conditioned response, and that people don't really pause to think about if they like winter or not. It's beautiful, it's a winter wonderland. There's Christmas, and hot chocolate, and cozy nights at home. I always hate it when spring comes. I'm just not a spring summer person at all. Heat, bugs, mosquito bites, more heat, more heat, sweating, tornodo warnings, wasps, bee stings, not being able to sleep in the heat, thunderstorms always knocking out the power, stinky bug spray, greasy sun screen, sun burns, and the noise...always drunks wandering around, throwing bottles, cars revving, motocycles screeching. Sigh - give me a peaceful winter's night.
-30 degrees in the winter in SW Ontario? It happens, but it’s not the norm here. We live near London Ont and last winter it hardly snowed, it was mostly over 0. Average temp is somewhere -5. Alberta, yes, totally different story. I think videos like this is why people in other countries think all of Canada is extremely cold and snowy and polar bears roam the streets here 😂 Yes, winters are winters, however they are not that extreme at least in the Toronto to Windsor area. Up North, Alberta, yes, it’s MUCH colder most of winter. Where we live, it’s rare to have regular snowfall before January. There are bouts of freezing temps and snow storms, but if I didn’t know any better, watching your video I would assume Toronto is -30 and very snowy all winter... It’s not very accurate at all.
Life In Canada yes totally agree, but watching the video you’d think it’s usually -30 ;) . It does happen yes, luckily not too often here. Mind you if you are north of Toronto, there will definitely be more snow there. We had almost nothing last winter in London and my son was disappointed... I think after a few mild winters we are “due” for colder and snowier one than usual ;)
Exactly! I live in Saskatchewan. -40 is not strange here at all. With the windchill, it gets to -50. I grew up here, I'm used to it, I have spent winters in Toronto, and the first one there I could not get over how absolutley warm it was. Like -5. If that. And people were wandering around in big huge Canada Goose parkas! How do you need that for only -5? I was born here, my Mum was from the Southern US, and, yes, she seriously thought it was all -40 and polar bears, just like you said.
Why do you guys refer to Ontario and Southern Ontario, then talk about how cold Alberta is. Alberta is cold for sure. I have lived in North Western Ontario. It's very cold there. Do realize the size of Ontario. Have you heard about Thunder Bay, Kapuskasing, Moosenee, Kenora, Geraldton, Timmins etc. Those cities and towns get -40 and -50 degrees.
@@basilbyfield5913 Thanks exactly the point I was trying to make… Ontario is so huge that you’ll have some extreme temperature ranges, especially in winter. It never gets -40 or -50 in SW Ontario where we live. Average is -2, and it’s COLD when it dips below -10, which isn’t that often. Anyway, that’s why I feel like it’s important to mention where the videos are being made because just saying “winter in Canada” well it’s not winter everywhere in Canada. You just proved the point. Look at the title of the video.
Winter is hard when you come for tropical countries so trying new things will make it easier.
Great video. The best way to overcome the cold is to embrace winter and take up winter outdoor activities that are fun and exciting.
Yes. Winter can be fun )

It’s not often of course and the average is less for sure but it happens. In the North part of GTA could be up to -30 in winter ❄️
