As a Canadian, it always makes me really happy to see immigrants adopting their new home with such eagerness. Like how Hockey Night in Canada has a punjabi broadcast. I think that's pretty wicked that so many punjabi-speaking Indians are so into hockey that there's demand for play-by-play in that language. Obviously I advocate learning English and/or French (which is generally never a problem with Indians given how widely spoken it is), but a lightning-fast sport like hockey is hard to follow in a second language. Also, very good review, quite detailed and accurate. Also lol'ed with how blunt you were: "yeah....don't bring your 'warm' jackets from home, they just aren't cutting it in Canadian winters." haha. LuxuriantTv I have always wondered what are the thoughts of the locals living in Canada about the life there, especially in terms of expenditure. Since you are born in Canada and live there, how would you describe the everyday expenses from a Canadian born individuals perspective? It would be great to hear from you! @CanadaCouple great video once again! Thanks!!

it’s important to note that just because a down jacket has higher fill power down in it, that doesn’t automatically make it warmer. It just means it will provide more warmth for the same weight of down. For example, a 650 fill power jacket with 400g of down in it will keep you warmer than a 750 fill power jacket with only 200g of down in it. But, if both jackets have 200g of down in them, the 750 fill power jacket will be warmer.
Thank you for this information. Canadian winter gear really is different from U.S. winter gear. For example, the lining in the knit caps - I'd never heard of that before. I grew up in Massachusetts, and even there I never wore stuff like this.
You couples always making videos which is relevant to Canada living conditions as compared to others you tube channel. In addition, ur channel is worthwhile for those who is arriving to Canada either study purpose or immigration. excellent work done by both of you. Good keep it up. None of them acknowledge that much information honestly.
Those were not hats, or caps ... those knitted pointy things are called tuques (pronounced toooooks). Some are made with fluffy and fun 'poms-poms' on the point. Sometimes the person who knits the tuque attaches the pom-pom not directly on the point but lets it hang down on a 20 cm twisted pair of yarn fibers. Then, when you quickly turn your head the pom-pom swings as well. It is all designed to have a little bit of fun during a cold winter day.
And some tuques have a rim... like folded up material over your forehead and around the back of your neck ... for extra insulation against the cold. But then it becomes more interesting. With some tuques, when it is really cold and windy (think about windchill), you simply unfold the rim and pull it down over your face to protect your skin.
When you 'unfold' the rim of the tuque down onto your face, that feature would only include 'eye holes' so you can see where you are going. It is a rare tuque that would allow holes for your nose. That nose hole feature is akin to a terrorist balaclava, or a USA military thing. In Canada, we protect not only your head, not only the back of your neck, but also your entire face and your precious nose. The tuque is a marvelous design. And to our hosts, this was a marvelous video. We Canadians now appreciate what you are going through. Thanks.

I am a Canadian born and bred, but I’m LOLing at this. It's easy--just move to Vancouver, the place where I was born. You will not need to worry about any of these lessons on extreme cold winter clothing. At the age of 21, I did move to Montreal for six years to do my university graduate degree and I learned the hard way about how to survive a "real Canadian winter." It was the worst six years of my life. Or you could just avoid all this and move to Vancouver instead. It’s “lotus land” and rarely gets below zero degrees C.
Very informative. Will definitely be referring to this video once we plan to shop for winter when in Canada. Also loved the effects (throwing the jacket, next scene you wearing it). Nice one.

Nice video and lots of good advice! There's one other detail you should consider before choosing winter outerwear, like a good parka: Try to get clothes that are loose fitting. European-style close-fitting clothes may look stylish, but they don't work well in Canada for several reasons: Firstly, close-fitting clothes don't trap enough air --- your parka works by trapping air around your body, which your own body then heats up. The parka's insulation is there to keep the warm air in, and not just to keep the cold air out. (That's also why scarves work - they're like gaskets to keep warm air from escaping your parka through the neck.) Secondly, close-fitting clothes bind and restrict your movement. You should be able to move freely, and be able to touch your toes or stretch your arms without resistance. This is important not just for comfort, but also because tight-fitting clothes can impair blood circulation, making you feel even colder. Thirdly, close-fitting clothes won't give you enough room to "layer-up". You need to keep enough room under your parka available for things like sweaters or fleece vests, without feeling constricted, especially around the arms and shoulders. Your clothes should all work together as a unit to keep you warm in the Canadian winter. I hope this is helpful. Cheers!

Wait so you wear a Parker and a down jacket at the same time? I just bought myself a down jacket (250g, 700 down power) for visiting Kazakhstan in winter ( average -20 lows of -35). I was thinking thermal base layer (long sleeve top, long bottoms of wicking fabric) another layer (walking trousers, normal jumper/shirt), a fleece, then a top layer linned waterproof trousers and the down. Is that enough?
Hey, Good Way of explaining, Good Style. What make me to appreciate you is that you doesn't seems to be expert in presenting. but Making lot of effort and thinking new. Awesome Guys, Good Bless you.

Very useful video! Thanks for sharing. If possible could you please share the links for Eddie Bauer jackets which you guys bought and other gears. Thanks god bless you.
I love how they're recommending clothes that are ok but I'd never be caught dead with, like giant scarves and ear muffs. Get a tuque that covers your ears properly. Get a short scarf and snugly wrap it around your neck once, like a charity ribbon, and then put your coat on. The ends shouldn't even reach your waist. If you're out in below -25 for more than ten minutes then long underwear is the easiest way to stay comfortable if you're wearing jeans.
Guys you both are doing an amazing job with all your Volga here. They are bloody damn helpful to the new comers. Thanks a ton and keep up the good job!
Can you please tell me how much we have to earn per month approximately so as to live a life there like you guys ??? What should be the budget.. Including everything whether it is rent, food, clothes, accessories, toiletries ...etc
Cost of living really depends on where you are in Canada, and how close you are to a major city. One thing I find is family of immigrants "back home" have a hard time comprehending the expenditures required in a first world country. To afford this lifestyle, you probably have to make more than $4000 per month between the two of them, and that probably sounds like A LOT of money to somebody from India, but it's really not. Just estimating for two people, rent is $1200-$2500 (2 bedroom apartment), food is $500-$1000 ($125-$250 a week, depending on how poorly you want to eat), car payment & gas or public transit is $400-$650 per month, Internet $50 - $125 per month, water is $40-$100, electricity is $50-$200 depending on the region and season (heating is more expensive). That's not even considering leisure or miscellaneous expenses like clothes or cleaning supplies or toiletries. Alternatively, if you have a mortgage on a house instead renting, you're generally looking at $2000+ every month, depending on credit score, mortgage terms and location. To get a mortgage you need to save for a down payment between $20,000 and $60,000, again depending on where you live. However, it's also not too hard to earn that much money with *two people* working because minimum wage is around $12-$15 depending on the region. If you have any education you will likely earn above that. Much more difficult being a sole renter, most people have roommates.
This was helpful and very well detailed. Thank you for the guidance and loved how the specifics were diligently mentioned! - It's great to have access to this kind of information as a newcomer. :)

You guys are ridiculously likeable. Your boot selection makes me think you live in Toronto. The only winter boots to buy have felt inserts. And no matter how much I pay, my feet still get cold. But yeah, felt boots that go inside the boots is the only way to go. You are welcome. Also, mitts are a jillion times warmer than gloves. ( Ok, maybe only a zillion) . Great hair, sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort for style.

Hi guys.. I am planning to move this year..ur videos are really helpful..
I can go to Canada but it’s really lucky to have a good partner like you two ❤️
Wait so you wear a Parker and a down jacket at the same time? I just bought myself a down jacket (250g, 700 down power) for visiting Kazakhstan in winter ( average -20 lows of -35). I was thinking thermal base layer (long sleeve top, long bottoms of wicking fabric) another layer (walking trousers, normal jumper/shirt), a fleece, then a top layer linned waterproof trousers and the down. Is that enough?
What brands should I get the best mittens and gloves from fro women? What should I look for in these?
Hey, Good Way of explaining, Good Style. What make me to appreciate you is that you doesn't seems to be expert in presenting. but Making lot of effort and thinking new. Awesome Guys, Good Bless you.

For
New comers
Thanks
I love how they're recommending clothes that are ok but I'd never be caught dead with, like giant scarves and ear muffs. Get a tuque that covers your ears properly. Get a short scarf and snugly wrap it around your neck once, like a charity ribbon, and then put your coat on. The ends shouldn't even reach your waist. If you're out in below -25 for more than ten minutes then long underwear is the easiest way to stay comfortable if you're wearing jeans.
Please make a detailed video on boxing day, black friday thanksgiving etc..where to go,where will i find cheap prodcuts everything
still one of the BEST video on winter shopping
What about pants? What material pants should be worn.

Love the videos and the Canadian spirit. 🇨🇦👌
This was helpful and very well detailed. Thank you for the guidance and loved how the specifics were diligently mentioned! - It's great to have access to this kind of information as a newcomer. :)
There are plenty of cruelty free coats jackets which are not killing ducks geese in cruel way.
Surbhi J - No one kills ducks and geese to make clothing. On the other hand, all skins from Cattle and Hogs are used to make leather shoes, bags and purses and wallets. The Down from the under layer of the geese is collected to make Goose Down coats. No Geese are killed.
Oh my god, i won't live in Canada in this cold weather. Man India is a heaven !
True that!
Yes yes india I love my india
@@Sachin-vr4ms looks like you are living in india and not happy. If you are not already outside india i highly recommend you to find a country that is gives happiness for you and move there.
alternatively, you can also try Australia as an option 👍
@@Sachin-vr4ms forget the lousy people . We should lead our lives happily irrespective of these fraudsters. India is heavenly !
Hi dears
Your videos are quite helpful. Thank you. Am expecting my Canadian PR soon. So I need a small clarification on your clothing advice. My question is as mentioned.
If you buy "Down feather Jacket " along with "Collar ", "mask", "Head and ear cap", do you require parka jacket.????
Looking forward to hear from you guys
Thank u Canada couple for giving really good information about winter clothing in Canada...
Which brand of down parka jacket you are wearing.. ??
You guys are ridiculously likeable.
Your boot selection makes me think you live in Toronto. The only winter boots to buy have felt inserts.
And no matter how much I pay, my feet still get cold. But yeah, felt boots that go inside the boots is the only way to go. You are welcome.
Also, mitts are a jillion times warmer than gloves. ( Ok, maybe only a zillion) .
Great hair, sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort for style.
How do you know when to choose between the down padded jacket or the parka jacket?
Very thoughtful of you guys to make this Video.Keep it up...God bless you both.By the way,do you have any suggestion for trousers...
Love both of you so much. watching from Saudi Arabia
