Goodbye Terry, I hope in your final hours, you knew deep down just how much people loved and held dear what you created. You may not be with us any longer, but your music will go on for generations to come. In ten, twenty or a hundred years time (if humanity makes it that far), young people will discover your music for the first time again, so in some ways you'll never die. You played a big part in forming some important values that I still believe in today and I bet there's lots of people who can say the same.

Well said grizcuz
Legend. You'll be missed RIP Terry Hall
Terry hall is no longer with us? I didn't know
That guy could have sang the phone book to me and it would still have been f*ckin brilliant
@@arejaycee5704 Lame Robert Smith wannabe!
don't think so
@Urbanfisho
He had his hair like this at the same time as Robert Smith, Bananarama also sported the same hair style, I guess they are Robert Smith wannabes in your simple mind, ain't they?
Great track, still sounds good today 2nd Jan 2024.
30th July 2024 😁
Now 9th January 25, and still gre.
Brilliant song . What a great band . Good drummer , great cello player etc. Everything Terry Hall touched turned to gold
The fabulous June Miles-Kingston on drums and boy could she sing a harmony 🥰
Where did it all go wrong????
Brilliant era Brilliant bands.
All we have is crap music
Crap crap crap everywhere.
😢
Totally agree, most of today's music won't last the test of time.
@@petesvideo
Sad ain't it😕
You are wrong, wrong, wrong !!
There are a lots of great bands putting out great music right now...just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean they aren't here !!
@Spacebird321
I've see plenty live.
Straycats
Depeche mode
Erasure
Bryan adams
Madonna
The jam
Madness.
Coldplay
Nothing today comes close to
These.
@@Spacebird321 Unfortunately those bands likely contribute less and less to popular culture. Those that do appear less interesting, more predictable, in fact bands no longer dominate charts, it's all solo artists because on the whole are easier for record companies to handle and likely work out cheaper. And of course on the flip side anyone older, eg in their fifties will have nostalgia bias, having had their formative years shaped by bands of the time, recalling the times of their lives in the music, so it will always resonate and 'be better'. Quite rare for a young twenty something musician to have something to say to someone in their fifties, as such modern music no longer serves them, particularly in being a conduit for going out attracting the opposite sex for example.
I only found out Terry was dead today..!! I absolutely loved this song..R.I.P Terry 💙xxxx
Masterpiece
RIP Terry
God bless you Terry your so missed x

HE AND JANE WROTE IT, ONE OF THE ALLTIME GREATS... SUPER FAB
And produced by David Byrne.
@@ajs41 Wow! I did not know this before today! This song is a true classic in my book, and that just adds to its legacy.
@@standardtwo Jane Wieldlin and Belinda Carlisle did backing vocals on a Specials album (I think it was More Specials, the second album with Stereotype & Enjoy Yourself).
Is Jane on the stage in this video? If so, which one is she?

Truth. And 56 too. Cheers.
To true need a rewind button.

Me too....miss that days....
Genius. From day 1. Genius. Loved them back then. Still do. 🙂👍
Such a wonderful song. I wonder if he was thinking of his romance with Jane Wiedlin every time he sang this. I love his beautiful backup singer and drummer. Her gorgeous voice and harmonizing really adds to this.
Had the pleasure of seeing Terry Hall and the specials at Glastonbury......

I always loved this song , whenever I heard it made my ears prick up, beautiful. ❤️ R.I.P Terry .
Always loved this. The persistent bouncing hypnotic bongos coupled with Terry’s deadpan. And the fact for years I thought the lyrics were “Alex the Seal”. RIP Terry x
Lol! My mum thought they were singing "Olive to see you"!
RIP Terry! Those were great days at the club....remember dancing to this tune🏁💓✊✊😢😢😢😢

Brilliant trac from a genius 👏
Rest in peace 😢 my brother will miss you Godbless you 🙏 and your family 👪
RIP, what a brilliant talent
After cutting my teeth on The Beatles, Free, Zeppelin etc in the late 60s/70's, I was in a permanently bad mood in the 80's. But there were still a few genuine originals. Terry Hall was one. I will miss him.
What a tune 👌
Terry Hall ~ thanks to you, I now also don’t mind failing in this world. Terry Hall ~ Top of the TOPS.
A very beautiful and understated song in every way.....but wow it gets under your skin.
Will always be one of my favourite songs. A legend and the kindest guy. Still can't believe it. Rest in power. Love love love ❤️
What a song this is. 👏
Genius song, clever lyrics
RIP Terry Hall sadly missed
Wow, I just heard the news of Terry Hall's passing. Such a heartbreaking life he had. Peace be with you ✨
What a great talent, you will be sorely missed Terry RIP ❤
So very very talented …lovely soul 🙏🏻🕊
Another part of my childhood gone, RIP Terry
Always special ❤️
Brilliant simply brilliant ❤
Incredible tune. Thanks Terry
so ahead of their time.....women playing all the instruments, blacks and whites playing beautiful music together, and such honest from the heart lyrics being sung by a man. It's hard to believe this was released 40 years ago. This band broke a lot of barriers and they weren't even trying. Rest easy Terry Hall...thk u for your contributions ❤️
Yes, it's like the 60s and 70s had never ended.
Rip terry. You were a legend mate. Much love ✌
Thanks for the great music Terry. This was my favorite.
You're very welcome
the total shock of showing up to watch Fun Boy Three for the trillionth time and finding out Terry has died. I am not an overly emotional guy, but I am crying while typing this. RIP Terry, the world is way less cool now.
Class act Terry. Best of British
The Lovely June on Drums...❤

Best version, captures the mood.
Yep. The Go-Go’s version is shite.
RIP Terry Hall. 💔
Terry hair was wild here. Rip Terry xx
I loved the 80s. All the music...just wonderful. Compare with the dross of today.

Love how Roger Federer presented this, despite being in the wrong area and decade. So generous, Love you, Roger!
Watched Belinda Carlisle sing the Go Go's version last night, she paid her respects which was nice, great song
Grandfather Steele rip 1😢968,this song was around and got me death spirit that led to sisters cisterns of mucky mercy.Joʻke.Now I see how poverty death was so prevalent and regional spirits.Disciples of Christ pray for me,as I write new songs on Royal land ,psychiatry ,London relatives and infancy/childhood.
Great dead pan expression. Rest in Peace Terry.
How good was that !
Oh yeah! Classic BRIT POP 80S RULE
RIP Terry, great times, great memories
Fell in love with his voice first time I heard him with The Specials over 40 years ago. So sad he's gone way too soon.
