I'm really starting to as of late. I was a teenager in the 80s, and while there's some good music out there still, most of it has nowhere near the soul it once did. Early Mtv really was something.
Lip synched but between belinda's energetic dancing and jane bopping around like that still a very enjoyable performance. They were always fun to watch
The 80's was definitely a heck of a time to grow up. Man I remember in school the first computer. And the big hair, the fashion statements .long hair. Rock bands coming yearly. Like Poison , Ratt, Warrant. And so many others. Not to mention the early days of rap, pop rock, just an awesome time running around carrying a radio big enough to wake the dead. I mean seriously it took enough batteries to jump start your car. Boy those were the good times, the best of times.
Loved The GoGos! A couple of guys I worked with in the 90s poked fun at me because of it, but did it bother me? Nah. A couple of days later, I told one of them, “You know a lot of their music is just a throwback to the beach music sound?” He sheepishly said “I know.”
What a difference a year makes ! No more spitting from the feral punks on the 1980 tour the band had to put up with. Now they were coming back to the UK with a number one album and single under their belts.
Belinda was the classic 1980's beautiful and sexy girl. She is so pretty in this video. And the way shes moving. Whew Weeee Son. She's just fine!!! I was 16 in 1981, and there really was this magic in the air in the 1980's. Ask anyone who was present!!
@@ray.shoesmith I was INVITED by KV to watch her rock the Sky Church at EMP (now MOPOP) in Seattle way back in 2013 by way of Facebook and the fact she IM'ed me.
I’m a 62 year-old Canadian and had a MAJOR crush on Belinda and Jane back then. I watch this video and I remember why😀
"American woman
Stay away from me
American woman
Mama, let me be"
@@Philmoscowitz A classic song that was created spontaneously out of thin air.
Who ever thought we'd miss the 80s ?!!!

I knew it in the 80s. I didn't want it to end 😢
"Our lips are sealed" because the BBC made us lip-synch. Still cool seeing them on stage here.
BBC lips were sealed when Sir Jimmy Savile worked there
Lip synched but between belinda's energetic dancing and jane bopping around like that still a very enjoyable performance. They were always fun to watch
These women had talent, beauty, wrote their own lyrics, played their own instruments. Rare back then.
Rare today as well. Music has deteriorated to a new low and keeps going downward.
it wasn't rare back then...it was normal
How was it rare for bands to write their own music? You are thinking of pop and country stars.
Ain't it The Truth ☺☺😎👊💯
ERAN MEDIADOS DE LIS AÑOS 70's TODAS LAS BANDAS TOCABAN SUS INSTRUMENTOS, COMPONIAN SUS PROPIAS CANCIONES ESO ERA NORMAL
Who didn't love the GoGos?
I love the gogo girl
The go gos know have to fun and play rockin roll and played and wrote their own music and also showed women can rock the stage

I'm 52, i was into Rush and Black Sabbath back then but the gogos were a huge guilty pleasure
me too
Same here and moon unit Zappa too.
The 80’s were amazing. There were hard times to then but life was great then
Truly breathtaking bass line in this song, wonderful.
I remember Belinda, I crushed on her big time!❤ This video is a treasure, brings me back!
The Go-Go's - The greatest female band in music history. They broke the mold and then broke records. Women rockers today owe them.
Souixie and the Banshees were pretty bad ass
gotta think they blazed the trail for another great all-girl group, the Bangles.
The 80s were the best.
Except for the constant nuclear war threats..
@estelja how is that any different from today?
Love the Go-Go's. Forever!
As soon as the GoGos hit the jukebox in my hometown rec center,it was like, wow!everybody young and old was jammin. They were special .Good times.
This song always takes me back to summer in 1981, I lived in a shit part of Sydney and it was the best times
The 80’s were a magical time.
Yes they were!
We had Paul Daniels & Debbie Magee
The 80’s were awesome !!
Ahh “Alex the Seal” what a banger of a song.
When the song was first out, heard "honest I see you"
😂
I know Belinda was the lead, but man, did I love Jane Wiedlin.
She was cute for sure.
She(Wiedlin) co-wrote this Song, with a Boyfriend of hers
I unsealed her lips.
Bring back the 80's
Dave vida- youre missed and here is the gogo's! I remember listening while we cleaned up the studio!!! Miss ya brother!!
Hard to dislike the sound.
So effing great !!
Seen Belinda twice and I just wish she would do this!!!!
Saw Belinda twice, nimrod.

I have seen them many times in concert. They are beyond great. Timeless music.
Everyone needs to have seen The Go-Go's live at least once. They are so freakin TIGHT.
Such a good time
Valentine and Shock are one of the best rhythm sections of the ‘80’s. Just killer grooves.
Love the bass on this song!
This is amazing!!
Belinda, amazing!
Always loved the GO Gos, They look great they sound great, awsome tune
I love the Go-Go’s, however, they are performing to their own original recorded studio performance. Just as they do today.
She's definitely one of the greats!! Loved every song! Brings back alot of memories ❤
Feels just like yesterday. Great times ❤
Great Song RIP Terry Hall
Princesses of POP!
We miss you and love 1980's!
A Great band.

Belinda was the stuff that dreams were made of when I was a younger man...
Charlotte was mine!
Fantastic. Jane is still free. Bagsy the punk pixie.
@@VonBladeMiss of Arc 😂
This is why we must start cloning before it's too late!
Oh Yess 💘💘💘💘💯
I will forever Love You Belinda ❤❤❤❤
This song rocks! I listen to it at the gym and I even did a drum cover of it.
BELINDA HAD A BEAUTIFUL STRONG VOICE!!!!! ALWAYS LOVED TO HEAR HER SING!!!!!!
love em.
Unforgiven is still the best song they ever did
I’ll go with “Tonight” imo!
The Go-Go'S! SHOW!❤❤❤❤
Always loved the Go-Go's, but smiling to myself, how diminutive Jane Weidlin is - that Gibson SG drowns her 😘
Just imagine how good they’d sound if they plugged their guitars in.

They took a song that Fun Boy 3 first played slow and dark, and made it into a huge boppy hit.
The GoGos recorded it first.
@@lioneljonson161 Then that is even sadder.
Hush my darling don't you cry. Quiet angle and forget there lies.
I had biggest crush on Belinda when i was like 6 in 1983
Heaven is a place called Earth what planet are we on.
Another episode of the wireless guitars AKA TopPop.😉
😂
I thought i was going nuts not seeing anything plugged in lol
Beautiful and talented girls and still rocking.
Our lips are synching.
That was tight.
That bass tone kills.
Nice
Knees locked tight
Oh Yess.... Belinda and The Crew.... God I Fell in Love With Her Immediately.... She is Just So Amazingly Beautiful ☺☺😘😘💘💘💘💘
Solid!
Top KEK!
Peace be with you.
Thanks for posting this. I was at the show, and this was a standout moment. Hootie as essentially a 90s tribute band really worked.
R.I.P. Terry Hall
Loved The Go-❤go's
Great band ❤
I wish Benjamin Orr ( Cleveland) could have sat in on this song just once.
Viva los 80s y the GoGos 👍✌️🏍️que recuerdos y tenia yo 10 años
love you guys
The Go-Go's, Bananarama, the bangles all girl bands and all brilliant and great to watch.
LOVE THIS
That’s not live it’s the single💯
Belinda Carlisle ❤
That's really a great song, and that pretty girl band, The Go Go's really made it work. Big guilty pleasure !!
Who else jumped up and started dancing like it was 1981?!😊
❤
Man o man, did I have a crush on her! And next to the Beatles, the Avengers was Britain's best export
Is... this really live? That sounds spot-on album-perfect. That is amazing. I knew they were talented, but damn.
100k!
Let's have more of this digging into the the video archives please!
A M A Z I N G
80s
Belinda C is who i think of still as the "perfect California girl."
Belinda Carlisle was smoking Hot in this video 😍🔥
Interesting how the microphones are wired but the guitars are not.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Lovely song about dispelling the rumour of them being wh0re$ lol...the go-go's are still, and always will be one of my favorite bands
Jane Weidlin is so pretty and is very good on the guitar as well!
our lipsyncs are sealed, hey plug them guitars in girls!
damn! Belinda ...very , very cute!
I am among the throng that wished at the time that Belinda Carlisle would somehow make us all men. What a dream girl, fucking kill me now.
Belinda with such a pretty face!!!
😎❤️
Most of this song is "we're alone now",
RIP Terry Hall
OUR HIPS ARE SEALED😆
Their lip synching but I don't care. It's great to be able to see them in their heyday.
Saw them supporting Madness at Bath Pavilion 1980/1
Kathy Valentine 🥵
Love KV!
@@douglasb.1203 Search youtube for the show they did in central park in 2001 and tell me if you can take your eyes off her

There are few better pop songs than this out there.
