We also need 2 guitars per tuning (main and backup), so starting in standard tuning, drop D, C, etc etc that's like 30+ guitars. That's the basic, i wish my girl understood me rofl

@@AnthonySforza I made a recording on my computer for my wife because she was curious why I spent so much on a guitar. I recorded the same thing on each guitar back to back to back. And then had her sit down and listen to it and she acknowledged they all sounded very different.
it's because they all have different tone/sound, and why bother dealing with changing you're tuning when you can have a different guitar for each variation, said the bassist.

Although depending on your background/lifestyle 30 minutes a day can be plenty to classify videogames as a hobby.
for me its the difference between a casual vs hardcore player.
if you follow gaming news, follow online discussions, watch press conferences, own multiple consoles (across generations) / built a pc, sounds like its a hobby.
if you bought an xbox to play with friends occassionally in your living room and only find out about new games through 2nd hand sources like commercials, doesnt seem like much of a hobby.

I hit rock bottom this year with a serious pedal addiction. It all started with "just one". Well not even two years later I can't even mentally recall all the pedals I own. Just say no, it only takes one for addiction to take hold

Yea... I have the filled up SKB Stage Five and recently began debating if the pedal aspect may have gotten away from me, even though I hunkered down and limited myself only to what could fit on there (With a Sennheiser wireless unit as well, no less). So I was discussing it with the girlfriend about how I may want to break down to a smaller setup, as carrying the big one up three flights of stairs to the rehearsal space each time is becoming quite cumbersome, with the board in one hand and the guitar in the other. Just looking at some of the guitarists I admire and they're not super hung up on pedals and due to a bit of a problem linking my board to my practice Amp, I've had to go straight in and it's kind of reawakened my love for it. That said, I don't regret going down the pedal road for a single second.

+SavingThemLost. I have one electric and one acoustic and it's enough. I would still have two electrics (including my ancient starter one from 2003) but they both got stolen and I replaced them with just one. I get the appeal of having more and if money weren't an issue I'd have a huge collection but I don't *need* anything other than a good strat, which is what I have.
I would seriously recommend upgrading from your starter, though. They tend to be pretty awful in terms of tone, sustain, build quality and ability to stay in tune. Even a mid-range Squire or Epiphone would be a good investment.

Good luck :) I've never attempted to modify any of the guitars I've owned but the first thing I would do is change the bridge, tuning heads and nut in order to improve it's ability to keep the tuning and intonation. Also it's not really a modification as such, but Guitar Honey applied to the neck and fretboard makes moving your hand around a lot easier.
