Me when I mention PCOS effects on my fic's MC, because I'm still pissed that: one day when I was supposed to get my period my body simply decided "no baby = no sensing lower body" and I had to ride around on a wheelchair for a bit bc I couldn't feel anything on my lower body and my legs just wouldn't respond. Or that one time I got so dizzy I had to miss out on a class that was on another building, because I was supposed to cross the street and I couldn't see shit so I just went back inside, sat back down and fell asleep on the floor trying to combat it. Speaking of which, I slept for like 12 hours a few days ago on Labor Day because I just... could not wake up. And there was also the excruciating pain that led to many infirmary visits, as well. And my mom still is keen on denying medication for me because "what if you want kids in the future?" when I'm like 99% sure I can't have them anyway, suspecting infertility... So, bottom line is I'm pretty pissed and now I gotta make MC feel what I felt. That's the law of fanfic, after all :)

To BE fair, 90% of all good (healthy) romance I have ever encountered was ff compared to pretty much everything conventional thats supposed to BE romantic freaking me Out AS fuck with how toxic IT IS . . . . . .on Ao3 you got everything and you can Filter IT . . . .there IS so much more awareness of consent and such in ff then in romcoms for example . . . .pretty much everything questionable gets tagged and pointed Out AS problematic in ffs!

“The moon was full” is actually kinda a cultural reference to the belief that full moons make people act weird, you’re more likely to get your period on a full moon, etc. “Lunacy” or “Lunatic” use the root Luna- the moon. It’s still a pretty common belief or folk tale that the full moon can drive people crazy.
