    Funny thing, I used to work at that factory and make those JOI Lamps. There’s a good chance I made the one your using lol. It’s only 2 towns over, about 30 minutes, and we only did about 1 or 2 runs a year where we’d make the lamps. Usually around Christmas time. I was one of the few people who learned the product line. Funny to see the product on your channel haha.

      That company would certainly profit from a similar product that could be attached to a typical wood stove. Think of the power generated from using a wood stove instead of a tealight.. power to maybe trickle charge a home battery system, in cold winter months when skies are overcast at best and solar is not available. Probably not enough to run a home completely, but hey, a little is better than none. I’m no engineer, but surely there’s a way to make it work.

    • @TheHamRadioHoser
      @TheHamRadioHoser Місяць тому

    I would just get an Olight OLantern 2, which will run continuously for 150+ hours at 10 lumen, and if you get a 100Ahr 12V Lifepo4 battery should be able to recharge the Olight Lantern around 20 times which equates to 3000 hrs or the equivalent of 750 tea light candles. And when the summer comes around a cheap 100 W solar panel and MPPT charge controller like a Victron 10/75 would be able to recharge the Lifepo4 battery in a couple of days of sunny weather.

    We always used tea candles with a clay plant pot to heat up an area. The clay pot really heats up and disperses the heat. Most come with the little hole in bottom which makes a great exhaust, it also puts off very little light which means you can use it in pretty much any situation. The best part is a bag of tea lights and the little clay pot is less than $10 total and will seriously raise heat in a small area like ice fishing shed, outhouse, car, ect.

In a confined space like a car it can easily raise the temp 5 degree with just one tea candle we put three or four in the pot so it works better than you think.

    Nate please link the videos that you refer to such as the man who survives winter with a candle and blanket? Thank you in advance. 💕

    I love the product, I'd like to have one for each family member and 3 for backup, but unfortunately I can't afford it at $200/piece. If they get a version for $20 I would but a dozen for sure.

    If you store your candles any place warm be sure to keep them upright. I had a bunch stored in the overhead area in the garage, which would get really hot in the summer, and it softened the wax just enough to make the candles off-kilter that weren't stored upright.

    I know the power of candles and it actually surprised the hell out of me. We lost power a few winters ago and I just lit 3 candles in my room and shut the door. I didn’t expect much more than some light. I fell asleep under my blanket (keeping the candles safe) ended up having to take the blanket and hoodie off till morning.

    I have one, Love it! You jut have to make sure you use the smaller tealights and clean the heat exchanger. Soft brush and air duster. Also if the lantern is too cool the safety feature will snuff the candle. Prop the door just shy locking untik it warns up, A minute or two. Then you can close the door fully.

    I've been looking for a light/heat/food warmer that's safe for indoors. The power tends to go off fairly often in this backward town. Not for long, but often. Thanks for showing the UCO lantern. I've just ordered one with extra candles and a stainless mug. Merry Christmas to me! And yes, I also do the clay pot/tea light thing.

    I saw a guy heat a copper band running through a bucket of sand with a tea light. It made a decent heater. (It was a bigger candle. Same principle)

    Cool product! It reminds me of those little stoves from Africa that charge your phone.
    Also, the Candeleres are awesome at giving off heat. If you put a manual stove fan on top of one, it will run the fan and disperse the heat.

    Between the wars, when Radios etc. we're commonly run of wet acid accumlator batteries charged by local merchants - there were radios that used gas, and a bimetallic strip to power a generator to provide electricity... to be honest: I'm not exactly sure how they worked (purely mechanical, or some kind of thermocouple) or even how commonplace Gas Radios were; but they existed

    This Candle Powered Lamp could well be used day to day.These will make great presents and not just a novelty one. I have the stove top fan so know how reliable these can be in generating power.
