    Thanks for posting this. All of the pieces fell out of the slide as I was cleaning it, but thanks to this video, I was able to successfully put it back together. Much appreciated.

    I have the xds trigger spring set and the apx striker guide from them and they are both awesome. These guys are top notch and the customer service is great. They accidentally sent the nano striker instead of the apx and was rectified in 1 day. Plus the videos make it really easy.

    I’ve watched this many times before. My beretta apx had proved this at the range with 18 lbs stainless steel guide rod spring assembly and my gun cycled very well with more accuracy. I also have the 20 lbs which I will use next time. These upgrades are more efficient than the stock polymer guide rod spring assembly because it’s stainless steel guide rod with heavier recoil spring. I love my beretta apx 9mm fullsize with this metallic guide rod.

    I received my APX Trigger spring today. I was very excited about installing this. I will say, I did struggle placing the back plate back on. I had some issue applying enough force on the extractor to get the plate to slide into place. I took the pistol apart several times to test where it was binding, but it seems like it just required more force to get it back together than I expected. This pistol is VERY tight on all moving parts. Even the top slide release was crazy tight. But the great news it is back together and I am so happy with this new lighter pull. Headed to the range to run some ammo through it now!!

    Can you clarify if this works in the APX A1 Carry? Your website says it does not fit A1 series (not sure if that meant the other compact and full sized models) but does fit APX single stack so I figured I would ask. Thank you

    • @GallowayPrecision
      @GallowayPrecision  Рік тому

      Good question, it has caused some confusion. It will only fit the Nano and the original APX Carry Single Stack. Will NOT fit the APX A1 Carry, APX A1 Full Size, APX A1 Compact, or APX A1 Full Size Tactical. Between the APX Carry and the APX A1 Carry the striker did change and we don't have one available for that pistol.

      We do offer a full Reduced Power Spring Kit for the Nano and APX Carry Single Stack pistols, sear spring, blocker spring, and stainless steel striker guide for nice trigger pull, smooth and easy action, this does not alter the striker spring. Reduces pull by about 1.5 lbs. It does not reduce pull length or reset length. It is on both our APX and Nano product pages of our Galloway Precision website.
      Sorry due to UA-cam's policy on firearms I can not leave a direct link to the website here.

Going lower on the recoil spring rate is not a good option for lower racking effort and honestly will not help much, a rack assist will be much easier and better overall for your need.

    Galloway prices as extremely reasonable and they move the products out! The instructional video is good. I own Glocks and their rear plate removal is much easier. I did buy a factory lighter striker spring assembly too because it was inexpensive. My Galloway parts arrive today and I will report after installation and testing. With that said, I am not fond of the dual part removal system of the Beretta rear slide plate. It becomes easier with practice, but Beretta should have taken a lesson from Glock.

      I had a similar experience. The GP striker spring felt heavier and I got those odd vibrations and sounds as well. I ended up using the OEM competition spring with the GP guide and it made all the difference. If you have not returned it yet, you could use the stock spring. The advantage of the GP guide is that it is uncaptured so you can change springs out. And its high quality stainless steel so it adds weight and won't bend. The OEM plastic guides get beat to hell each time I take it out to clean the striker and they wear and shed. Its hard to tell with the black one, but with the green I was finding tiny green specks of plastic in the internals. Not sure what GP has to say about using the OEM springs but so far I have had no issues.

      It really depends on the grain of the ammunition you will be shooting, also if you have the 9mm or 40S&W. 22lbs for the 40 would be your best bet, and 20lbs for the 9mm. If you're shooting powderpuff loads for competition I'd go with the 15lb.
