I was contacted by the people over at Achievement Hunter years ago, to animate something for there community channel, cus I was a well known fanimator for a lot of there projects... I asked them if there was anything I shoudn't add to the animation, they told me that as long as there is passion involved and love, that they didn't care... So I worked tirelessly for 8 months on this one project for them, and once it was done, i sent it over to Them and they had told me they couldn't use it cus I had included "Ray Narvaez". They told me that i could go ahead and post it to my different media accounts, but that he wasn't going to promote it on anything at his end, but instead quietly show it to people at the office... Next year later Ray makes an appearance on the Achievement Hunter Podcast "Off Topic" as a guest... So they can have him appear on there officials, but I can't add him on a semi official fan community channel? Not to mention from my experience, they genuinely don't care about there fans or there input in the slightest, unless its positive and without criticism.
Seeing Rooster Teeth finally die is like watching your childhood home be bulldozed after being abandoned and infested by crack junkies for years. The only thing that comes close to something as historically significant as RT be destroyed, is Machinima going under and the subsequent fanmedia holocaust that followed with thousands of videos stretching back decades being deleted. Thankfully RvB probably won't get wiped off the internet anytime soon, but it's still very tragic seeing how this group went.
They went Woke and Went Broke. I dislike it when companies hire on Identity, race, politics and other superficial issues of the sort. They stopped hiring the people who cared, they stopped hiring the best people for the job and they stopped hiring people who were fans. This is a heavy warning to the industry now that this has finally happened. This is an example of what happens when you manage and hire this way.
I got disenfranchised back in 2016 when they basically called the half of their fan base who are conservative/republican racist. That, and the was no passion in their projects, and they all had to start filling some intersectional checklist. I truly believe that Burnie saw the writing on the wall and knew to jump ship. Gavin will be fine, he's got enough contacts to keep himself going. Jack on the other hand can go pound sand.
Man i stopped watching them like 2014 amd switched to funhaus. I used to sit and wait every week for my dial up to laod the new RvB episode and now RvB isn't even on UA-cam anymore! I still remember the Drunk Tank podcast
To be honest as a fan who has been there since the very beginning way back in 2003, i knew the writing for RT was on the wall. And now with this, it's taken me a lot longer to go back and watch some RT content.
Honestly, it was their treatment of Vic and Joel that grossed me out. I remember how quickly I went from idolizing Shannon McKormick to seeing the stuff he wrote on Twitter just showing how petty and gross he was. I also loved Achievement Hunter, but I realized that I actually just really liked Ray. When Ray left AH, I followed him to his twitch channel and stopped watching AH.
