What happened to rocksteady is simple. Rocksteady sold their souls and tried to become a hybrid version of borderlands, fortnite and destiny all while ignoring what happened to Marvel's The avengers
I just got into Arkham knight and about to finish it. That and the Spiderman ps games are the best hero games I’ve played and AC is incredible. So disappointing to know the evolution of the style of the Batman games have completely flopped

I wanted to give it a chance despite all the negative comments on different platforms, especially on Steam and UA-cam Comments on videos, so I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition to get "the full package", because I loved Arkham games (still playing them even today) and I knew Rocksteady made them Iconic Masterpieces.... So played like 1 hour and I was like "This shit is cringe, refund!" worst experience ever, I even enjoyed Gotham Knights much more, and finished the main story and some side stories of that, but this? Like wtf, Harley Quinn is like nothing compared to the Harley Quinn we knew from Arkham Games, this Harley Quinn is like if they ordered its personality from Temu, and put it into a body and clothes bought from Wish.... Not to mention what I have seen from gameplays, like wtf? They did bad with Flash, that was fucking disrespectful, they did bad with Batman too... and Harley grabbing Deadshot's *ss.... like what? Isn't that "sexual harassment" or it is only that if a male character does that to a female?
Bringing that woke company sweet company in certainly did not help and then the fact that none of the original team worked on this. Plus any fan of the original trilogy never asked for this game, we just wanted another quality sequel as the Batman. What annoys me more is that they had years to do this as arkham knight came out in 2015.
Easy to answer. The Rocksteady today is not the same Rocksteady as yesterday. Also its a simple case of a bunch of corporate suits that only has interest in crunching numbers and bottom lines said to a Game Developer Studio.... "We want money....We want Fortnite money.... Make it happen." Rocksteady with no previous experience in live service game got to work and scrambled the "best" they could put together. What you see being the end product. Thats all it is, in all its simplicity. Corporate greed trickling down to game developer's.
The problem is much more fundamental than changes in dev team: the whole premise was bound to be a flop. It's as if Insomniac said: "nah, let's not do a Spiderman game featuring Peter Parker or Miles Morales. Let's make a Sinister Six game where they kill off the main Spidermen and any other better known hero." Both execs and creatives failed in thinking this idea would take off.
First mistake, to connect this game with the Arkham saga, why? There was no need, this could have been its own universe and they would have avoided a lot of hate then. Second, just a final scene, I don't know, where we saw the "real" heroes of the Justice League locked up, in suspended animation, what ever and that would make it clear that what we killed were clones, more problems avoided with the fandom. And therefore, it would even generate interest in the future to see the rescue of the heroes by the villains and believe me, even people would be more hooked. Top this off with a bland game, made purely for the sake of easy money and with the most repetitive, simplistic and boring gameplay, that at one point I said, I'd rather be playing "Palworld" than this. Add it all up, and you have the perfect storm for Rocksteady to shoot themselves in the foot. A shame, but there will always be the legacy of their original Arkham trilogy, this game honestly doesn't even count.
The rise of Live Service games and the people who spend money on them are what went wrong. Everyone wants a piece of that pie now and are attaching everything to it, waiting to find the one that sticks.
It breaks my heart to see rocksteady fall this much because I am one of the few people who loved Arkham trilogy it was freaking fantastic in my opinion.
@@jessb8585 folks say otherwise. Look at review and player scores for arkham games ( in the 80s) and SSquad was last seen in 50s. Below Redfall. Anyway. You do you boo.
I honestly believed a Superman game was in the works after Arkham knight. If any game company could've made a Superman game, it would've been Rocksteady.
its definitely a product of warner brother suits looking at charts and demanding rocksteady make a live service game because of its profitability rather than an actual good product
It feels nothing like the previous Arkham titles. Forget the shitty writing and the disrespect. The game doesn't even fit in that universe! It's a redundant and brainless looter shooter with zero Arkham DNA. Even that crappy Marvel's avengers game at least presented the heroes as they appear in the comics! Character's in this game all feel the same. Imagine Thor fighting enemies with a machine gun!
Sweet Baby Inc is what went wrong with Rocksteady. A plague in the videogame industry. Also, no one gives a crap about the Suicide Squad. When it comes to DC only Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman matter.
Sweet baby inc, WOKE investors influencing stock prices, the original team leaving because they saw the writing on the wall... Diversity hiring and not hiring on merit or ability......Those are a few of the reasons
It's really very simple. The founders of Rocksteady left as did most of the talent that made the Arkham trilogy. It is essentially a new studio and a far inferior one at that. Secondly three words, Sweet Baby Inc! They destroy everything with their woke DEI and ESG agenda. They have no respect for the core audience or beloved legacy characters and feel they have the right to inject their vile ideology into our escapism. This new, ersatz Rocksteady deserve everything coming their way and I hope it's a wake-up call to other western studios!
Replay Arkham Knight - even on PC, it's fine now. The Batmobile is not overused - the vast majority of the batmobile content is optional. Don't like it? Don't do it. It's crazy how a narrative forms about a game during release and then never changes.
World of Tanks: Arkham Edition has far too many unskippable tank missions. Ruined the game for me. If the tank was an optional problem solving tool I could use or not at my discretion, it wouldn't have. Knight is the prettiest game, but both in story and mechanics, it's the weakest of the three and a disappointment after City.
I feel like Rocksteady read the last page first of a long and enjoyable set of series’ A Flash series, Wonder Woman series, including ideas for a standalone Superman series.
They went the same route as other games, due to greed. Live service with cosmetics available to purchase has been the downfall in gaming. I miss the days when most game companies focused on creating a single player experience with the best writing, gameplay, and immersion as possible
It's because Rocksteady's focus shifted from making good games to hiring "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity" people to fill the roles once occupied by talented people.
What likely happened was Rocksteady said what about we make a game like Arkham series except they fight the Justice League except once Warner Bros. got wind of this they said make it live service It would make sense since it was only recently we got Gotham Knights. Rocksteady hadn't a clue how to make a live service game. I'm not trying to defend Rocksteady to much as we still got the game we got and they may have highlighted it was a bad idea to Warner Bros. but at the end of the day they may have been strong armed into making it. I have to assume if it wasn't live service they may have made a better game and could have focused more on making each Suicide Squad member feel different. Would make sense why they had people leave the project to they had a great ideas but if they can just be strong armed into going against their vision they didn't want to work there anymore. But I do think we would have got bad boss fights still even if it wasn't live service as in Arkham Knight most of their boss fights was in the batmobile or just not great. Like who's idea was to have Slade fight Bruce in a tank as opposed to in combat like Origins.
This is what happens when you spend all your attention on live service, microtransactions, and seasons/battlepasses instead of story, gameplay and endgame. You end up with a half assed, half finished games. AAA games are now inferior to the indie games coming out nowadays. Once that indie gets bought up by big corporates , it's all over for them.
What happens is the TEAM that made the game left over time. It is like going to ur favorite restaurants, but the best chefs have left, and the food sucks now
Riddle me this: what smells, is made up of multiple items and usually tied in a black bag? Garbage... This is really sad to see. Sweet Baby Inc absolutely destroys everything they touch. This game is bizarre: race swapped Deadshot (I'd say the same thing if they did it to Static and Black Lightning too), Cpt Boomerang and King Shark literally can't be in this "Arkhamverse" game (It's already been established in an Arkham Knight prequel comic that they both died in a suicide squad working for Penguin. This is never explained), ugly art style, Waller is ugly af, Wonder woman is ugly af (Not to mention she has also (according to Lex) "solved toxic masculinity" smh), Harley Quinn is ugly af with her stupid SJW half shaven head, "baby's first shooter" purple hit points, drab, flat and repetitive gameplay, always online, battle pass, a $70 game that has micro transactions, disrespecting Kevin Conroy's legacy, resurrecting Batman (he died in Knight), totally misunderstanding the green lantern's ring and how it works (King Shark puts it on and uses it. That's not how it works, absolute cringe. Even as a little kid watching Justice League and Justice League Unlimited I could have told you that: the rings chose the wielders), Poison Ivy is resurrected (she bravely died in Knight assisting Batman) and she is annoying as hell in this game, why is the Riddler obsessed with task force X now? It literally makes no sense (yes he's in here even though it feels very out of place), overall cringe writing... Honestly Harley's dialogue when she kills Batman and especially when she says "Now it's our turn" is a BIG middle finger from Sweet Baby and the new Rocksteady to Arkham and comic fans alike. They are all fools and it definitely shows. I would implore anyone who's even considering buying this garbage to save your money; just watch someone else's playthrough on UA-cam or something... it's really not worth it
I'll save everyone 9 minutes and 9 seconds. You see Rocksteady choose greed over what they used to be. So they released the lazily developed garbage known as Suicide Squad. That's pretty much it.
Maybe but i think this game did too much damage to fans, they would need to publicly cut Sweet Baby Inc out. They have sunk so many years and money into this and its gonna implode worse than Anthem and Marvel Avengers in a few months.
Warner bros told them to chase the live service game.. Simple as that... Same way they're ruining mk 1 with charging for content that would normally be in the game

3) WB only wants live service model games (Greed)
Pertaining to suicide squad game, The gameplay is ass with a UI straight from hell seriously why is all that shit all over the screen and every character plays the same
You avoid mentioning Sweet Baby Inc and their activism? Not to mention Sweet Baby Inc writers on X started insulting fans...
3 words . Sweet baby inc.
What happened to rocksteady is simple. Rocksteady sold their souls and tried to become a hybrid version of borderlands, fortnite and destiny all while ignoring what happened to Marvel's The avengers
It’s sweet baby inc
@@mooserocka522 they're just as responsible as rocksteady
I just got into Arkham knight and about to finish it. That and the Spiderman ps games are the best hero games I’ve played and AC is incredible. So disappointing to know the evolution of the style of the Batman games have completely flopped
Making harley kinda mid is unforgivable tbh
She still looks kinda pretty with her inmate hairstyle imo
I adore this design
Are u 12? she looks better now
@@KingXhuntRif he was twelve he would be the target audience.... How are you using that as a shitty insult?
@KingXhuntR nah I'm actually 7. And I love me some big mommy milkers I'll tell you hwhat
At what cost

For me its Arkham origins to Arkham knight 4 masterpiece 😊
Not enough people realize this! There are 4 damn games in the original series.

All of a sudden, Gotham Knights lookin pretty good!
By the time they realized the live service will fail after the avengers didn't make any money at all It was to late to change course in my opinion
I’ll buy this when it’s 20-30 bucks on sale in a few months. Maybe they pull a destiny 2 forsaken and do a 180. I’m not holding my breath. Fuck rocksteady now and sweet baby inc to some extend. The whole harley quinn hitting on a child poison ivy is cringe and disturbing AF
WB doesn't understand DC .. for every "good" DC property we get 5 terrible ones.
Their Batman VA died in the interim. It all went downhill from there from what I've gathered.
What happended? The same thing that's been infesting the rest of our institutions from the look of things.
Thank you for saying this. The premise was the problem.
spitting on the arkham games isnt a way to win people over
What WENT WRONG With Rocksteady? WOKE ERA
Suicide squad looks so terrible
Not touching it with a sh*tty stick
Sweet Baby is what went wrong
Superman said it perfectly. What the hell did they do to our boy……
People didn't like Arkham Knight? I loved that game!
Sweet Baby, that what went wrong
What went wrong? Three words: Sweet Baby Inc.
I think the rot started to set in when they decided not to call back Paul Dini to write for Arkham Knight.
Warner Bros and their chasing after GAAS is what went wrong. Rocksteady was doing just fine before that.
I'll just say it. I don't care what they say it's not cannon too me. Makes you move on easier. Complete ass.
I’m just gonna say it bat man Arkham origins is the best out of the series
Yet another big channel which somehow forgot to mention baby in the room. I'm sorry, "elephant" in the room.
The rise of Live Service games and the people who spend money on them are what went wrong. Everyone wants a piece of that pie now and are attaching everything to it, waiting to find the one that sticks.
They went corporate woke. Same reason Disney sucks
Im thankful for all the great mods in Arkham Knight. Makes this game worthless
It breaks my heart to see rocksteady fall this much because I am one of the few people who loved Arkham trilogy it was freaking fantastic in my opinion.
You aren’t “few”. There are ALOT of gamers that love Arkham series. Those games are masterpieces, they still hold up even now.
@@EchoDoctrine😂😂 dude trippin
@@EchoDoctrine indeed and I can agree with that one hundred percent.
It's simple. WB is what is wrong with Rocksteady.
Sweet baby inc, WOKE investors influencing stock prices, the original team leaving because they saw the writing on the wall... Diversity hiring and not hiring on merit or ability......Those are a few of the reasons
Waht happend was they let talentless activists from sweet baby inc give them "narrative advice" and ruin their game.
This is how it happened. This is how the rocksteady died
Imagine if we got a deathstroke game instead of suicide squad 🤷🏾♂️
Same thing
Should be illegal for company’s to not listen to their fans and make trash games 😂
Isn’t amazing how these new creative directors think through? 😂
What likely happened was
Rocksteady said what about we make a game like Arkham series except they fight the Justice League except once Warner Bros. got wind of this they said make it live service
It would make sense since it was only recently we got Gotham Knights.
What went wrong with Rocksteady? The OG’s left and formed a new studio, so now rocksteady has become rockshitty
Wokesteady
Rockbottom
Àzzsteady
What happens is the TEAM that made the game left over time.
It is like going to ur favorite restaurants, but the best chefs have left, and the food sucks now
Great analogy
I would implore anyone who's even considering buying this garbage to save your money; just watch someone else's playthrough on UA-cam or something... it's really not worth it
Anyone with any talent left around 2015
I'll save everyone 9 minutes and 9 seconds.
You see Rocksteady choose greed over what they used to be. So they released the lazily developed garbage known as Suicide Squad.
That's pretty much it.
Wokesteady happened
Warner thats what happen first mk and multiversus and now this
And don’t forget Gotham Knights
Someone said "hey lets hire Sweet Baby Inc and some blue haired freaks" and the rest is history including Rocksteadys founders.....
Rocksteady in name only. All the real talent is long gone
omg .... this is what happens when make reviewer;s pay for games. like IGN lame , its a great game ...
How often do we hear stories like this in the gaming industry? It's basically the standard now.
My Sweet Baby Inc.
The whole direction of the game is a result of wasted woke consulting money.
If Rocksteady makes a prequel Justice League game, and completely ditch the live service elements, they could make a comeback
I think the damage is done and it may cost them making anymore superhero games.
Mans called the batman series a trio, i couldn't be more disappointed
you can look up pictures of some of the people at Rocksteady that helped write some of the story and character development and SEE exactly where they went wrong
