I agree. I really liked her character arc from the beginning to the end of the show. She contributed a lot to the show. Poor decisions afterward don't discredit that.
The tattoo wore off as he was passing through the wall…his arm was the casualty and got stuck in the wall. He mentions it later when Clark & Whitney are caught at the hideout & says it didn’t really hurt too bad and that it was fused closed so there was no open wound.
It's weird I didn't even remember the arm coming into this but I remember seeing the arm in Clark's xray vision. It's weird how much the show brings back in terms of memory or even things you just didn't notice the first time watching.
Also, the prosthetic arm he carries around, which by the way looks like a mannequin arm, serves as a kind of security blanket for the guy to make up for his missing arm.
I like how you guys are honest and open about every episode unlike other rewatch podcasts where the cast talks about how every episode was perfect and flawless. Oh, gimme a break! You mean to tell me,nothing is wrong?! I like how you guys keep it straight up.
You should listen to the Boy Meets World podcast. For the first 3 seasons, it felt like all 3 hosts hated the show. Now they're getting to where the show really took off and they love it all of a sudden. But they're being very honest about how they feel about every episode.
Another series on how Superman comes across with other super heroes and becomes part the justice league which super hero didn’t almost make the cut etc 🤩 his love life with Louis and ofc lex running his own team of villains as well , just like in the comics
I 100% support this comment. These two are my favorite versions as well. I wish we would've gotten a movie with the actors from Smallville moving the story to where we finally got to see Tom as Superman.
Talking about just looking at the camera without speaking, that was one of my favourite things about both you guys. You could always act and make it believable without saying a word. Lex looking longingly at the Kents and wishing he was part of a family or Clark looking at Lana and wishing he could be with her. The words weren't always needed and you guys were amazing.
Yes, that scene where Lex is being hugged by his dad but you know it’s for the cameras, and he stares wistfully at the Kents…👌. Perfect delivery without saying a word.
also the script isn't about characters talking to each other but to the audience "our friendship will be the stuff of legends" or something like that is speaking to the audience of they were rivals and its a big deal
I feel like no one truly understands how much Smallville set the stage for Superhero TV shows. Like.. this was the OG yall. Smallville set the scene and put up a standard that no other show has hit yet, imo. Much love ❤️❤️❤️
I always feel bad when Clark feels guilty for not being able to save someone like Chloe but it’s such a Superman thing to do and it’s so prevalent in the later seasons
Seriously Michael and Tom, Smallville was and forever will be my childhood show, excited and anticipated each Wednesday for the next episode of the podcast, I'm here till the end ❤
As a fan of great shows like Breaking Bad and GOT etc.. Smallville will always be my favorite, i love every single episode and i rewatched it more than 5 times since 2004 and im doing it again with you guys, your podcast was a dream that came true, Thank u so much for doing it.
I love watching Tom finding everything that happens to Michael funny as hell. He just giggles all the time, trying to hold a straight face. Great stuff
I think it’s perfectly valid to remember Allison Mack and recognize her contributions to the show. I get it, she got caught up in a cult, hurt many more vulnerable people, and is now paying the price for it behind bars. But if we’re here for Smallville to reminisce and pay homage, than we should address the elephant in the room and remember how great of a character Chloe had become throughout its run.
Dont know if it was realizati8n if making a deal with the devil though. Like yes Lex's dad has a bad reputation in the town and Lex himself might be a bit suspicious to the town as well but he's not known as the big bad guy yet and so far hasnt been seen to do anything dubious but just seems to be interested in helping the town. I think she was just realizing that she now has to take on the huge responsibility of running a buisness as a highschool freshman.
Kristin is a great and talented actress. she transmits a lot simply by the expression of her face, her eyes ... and an incredible emotion. It’s a gift.
“Cuz she’s a god…. blessed.. chemist!” Ryan’s laughter killed me in this moment.. the feisty look and feel for this episode was fantastic, Michael. 😂 I love this podcast and love you guys for doing this! God… blessed.. you guys!
This episode made me laugh out loud, like more than once! I love their honesty and telling it like it is from their point of view. Love it when Michael swears…lol!🤬And when he said about Chloe, “Goddamn it, she’s a chemist.”…or something very similar. I laughed as hard as Ryan & Tom at that one! Thank you TalkVille! Love you guys! 😂💜
I love bringing up the hospital internet. I laughed so hard at that line. I was in the hospital with a badly broken leg for almost two weeks in 2021. I was so thankful for my tablet, wi-fi, and headphones. When the hospital wi-fi was slow I could use my cell as a hotspot.
I've always thought that Tom did a great job portraying a young Clark Kent and that Michael is the absolute best Lex Luthor, but I love watching these episodes, because it actually makes me love them as people and not just actors. The friend chemistry between the two is so phenomenal. Tom is so upbeat and sweet in what he says. Michael is hilarious. Ryan does a great job adding new insights, too. This has become my favorite podcast. Thanks, guys, for doing this show. I loved Smallville when it was on, and I am having so much fun watching this commentary.
Agree with Michael when he spoke about the impact of the technology nowadays, the internet and all those things that came with it, they were meant to connect people but somehow it connects people but disconnecting them (especially physically!) I'm glad I'm a 90's baby!
Evangeline Lilly appears in 5 episodes between 2002 and 2004, Kinetic was her first appearance... They were always as background muted characters. Her five episodes are: Kinetic, Visage, Rosetta, Accelerate & Delete
I have just laughed so much! You guys are hilarious! I think you were maybe a little harsh, I'd go half a rose, I watched "Kinetic" when I was having a pretty crap day and it really amused me! Whitney wearing dark glasses in the store, Clark chopping wood with his hands, a bunch of criminals acting like 14 year olds, going around in their brightly coloured tracksuits - the least intimidating bad guys ever! It was wonderful 😆. I also clocked the internet comment in the hospital, all I had in my head was the memory of the dial-up tone 😄. I did love Tom's story about the effects guy getting really excited about his splitting logs though - adorable! Thanks Rosey, Tom and Ryan. Looking forward to next week.❤
Thank you guys for weekly bringing me back to a simpler, happier time in my life. This means a lot to me. While I may not be able to support you financially now, I do plan to in the near future. Thank you for everything and I can’t wait for your merchandise!

Thank you for brightening up what’s been a very difficult past 24 hours for me. Knowing the new episode of the podcast would be up today was helping so much!
Was it just me or I caught a glance of Michael going into Lex's character at 6:25 min? When recalling dismissing Chloe, that Michael's high eyebrow was pure Lex's expression!
I didn't grow up watching Smallville but as I got older i found my way to it and honestly i love it, you guys are awesome versions of these beloved characters if not the best and the show is aging pretty well despite a few moments here and there lol
Hey guys my favorite scene in this episode is Lana's facial expression too... She was totally happy for like what? 2 seconds and then she realized. "Oh shiz! I have to deal with this guy for like more years to come" To be frank I thought this probably is the start of Lex grooming Lana.
A great morning to wake up and watch these awesome guys, Michael is a icon and he's just been so cool since day one! Tom is always going to be a awesome actor and the best Clark Kent that's facts.

20:42 - 21:14 💀💀💀 literally- rewatched this like 15 times. Mike’s molecular spaz followed by Ryan’s asthma laugh and tears and Tom wiping the tears of laughter and agreement.
Is this giveaway for real? I got one too and ended up deleting the app. Maybe a big mistake but i have counted at least 5 other people who got the exact dame message
Oh, i see. Well, it said the package is yours so just seemed too good to be true lol. That's awesome that you do that. Guess i will take the loss this time. Keep up the good work.
Lol yeah i noticed that after i wrote that post. They really stepped it up after i posted the warning. ... They almost had me til thwy told me what the package was. Then i was like "No way Mike is doing THIS MUCH" lol ... I wiah someone from the show would address it.
When I rewatched this episode I had a lot of questions, from the prosthetic arm to the guy driving the truck that hit Whitney 😅 I also love Lana's expression at the end when she notices that she's just made a deal with a Luthor.
Once again like every Wednesday, working and listening to this fabulous podcast that I love so much! Thank you Michael... and Tom and Ryan. 🤭 Saludos desde Mexico. 😘
In this episode Clark was chopping wood with his hand. In the Crisis On Infinite Earths (Batwoman) episode where Tom appeared as Clark Kent, Clark was chopping wood using an axe and Tyler Hoechlin's Clark makes the comment "I could do that with one hand." - Maybe a call back to this episode . . . that's the kind of thing they were doing.
I love the opening song and visuals. I used to “tape” Smallville on our VCR and then we would watch it after the kids went to sleep. Haha. Great episode. Don’t stop. Keep it up, please.
This episode was kind of nice where it highlighted Eric Johnson's Whitney Fordman as he felt like a background character in some way, but this episode really was the start of Whitney becoming important to the season 1 storyline.
We love this show!! This got us through quarantine thank you so much!! We will never stop supporting this show no matter how old it gets!! But could y’all share more BTS stories on set??
Tom - I definitely will want a portable CD 💿 player in my car too to rewatch the entire series again 😂 I love Michael’s commentaries the entire time and yes! Keep saying what you really feel 😂I love the honesty and that’s the best part of this podcast is to hear and watch you both reminisce together with Ryan about the best and worst moments of Smallville ❤😊🎉
I had no idea about Evangeline Lilly being like a background extra and years later after watching it again I noticed her lol. Of course she went to have success in Lost, LOTR prequel trilogies and the MCU.
Ok. Thanks for pointing that out. When the caller said she'd been in The Lord of the Rings, I was thinking, no, that's Liv Tyler. I'd totally forgotten that Evangeline Lilly was in The Hobbit film series.
Yes Robert Singer was a long time EP on Supernatural and there is even a well-loved character in the show named after him...of course I'm referring to Jim Beaver's iconic character of Bobby Singer!!!!
love love love this podcast! Smallville save my sanity when I was deployed to Iraq in 07 and just had seasons 1-5 on DVD and me and my squad would huddle in our tent watching Smallville whenever we had downtime on my small DvD player.
It's so cool that Talk Ville slowly but surely bringing back Smallville family together. ❤Schneider was a blast last week! Kinetic🤔 .Tough one😐I wish that red kryptonite already existed in season 1 just to see, for once, "red Clark" response to always rude Whitney. Clark is trying to help and Whitney is acting like jerk? What's wrong with him? Ok, I get it...Lana. But still- rude. I'm not too keen on this episode, it's my least favorite in season 1. Music for the first time was unnecessary (loud). Didn't like jocks, too. Best scene for me was when Chloe get's thrown out of a window. That was great. Love Talk Ville 💚💛❤
Whitney was always a dick. It was the weakest part of it, and thankfully he goes away, but a good way to show how truly affable, and honorable, Clark truly is.
Michael, as a fan of smallville and recently a fan of your podcasts, I've been waiting so long for you guys to do this episode and guess what man...you all delivered! Thanks for the laughs Michael, good to see you Tom, and cant wait to see where Ryan's journey will go next in Talkville! -Sam ✌☺
You guys are killing me 😂 I listen to the podcast at work and when Rosy tells Tom he’s crapping on the show, I’m at work trying not to just laugh out loud! Y’all crack me up 😂🤣😂
The party that really gets me in this episode is when Whitney goes to Lana for help, then by the time Clark gets there he's like no I got myself into this I'll get myself out.
Favorite lines Rosenbaum: “You’ll find out you’re not the only one who can reach through walls” “You can’t save the world Clark, all you’ll end up with is a messiah complex and a lot of enemies”
Excited to hear your take! For me this wasn't the best EP but there were parts I liked. Whitney had a ton of character development. We saw new depths out of him. This ep. reminded me a little bit of The Lost Boys. Don't know if that was intentional or not. Love ya guys 💙
Yes! I noticed this too when the gang was trying to push Whitney into the path of the truck. A lot of similarities, from their tricking him into becoming a supernatural being, his wearing sunglasses the next day while he's working because he was up all night, his confession to Clark that he got in over his head, and even him and Clark breaking into the lair while the gang is supposedly asleep.
I watched this show with my grandpa and then, my grandmother. I never got to finish it with my grandmother before she passed, but now, I’ve introduced my boyfriend to it. Such a good show. Lots of memories attached to it.
While not a pivotal episode, it still had its moments. One huge highlight was Clark's emotion guilt in not being able to save Chole in time to prevent her accident. Again The Kent's parent are crucial in offering insightful advice to Clark.
As my brother would say, this is definitely an episode where you had to push the "I Believe" button a few too many times. I think I started rolling my eyes a bit when a truck driver saw Whitney in the middle of his path enough to honk at him...and then just kept going. Like "oh, did I just smash some kid? Oh well!" Definite heater for me, raised up from a bomb almost solely on the strength of Chloe's comments about how perturbed she is at Clark for not saving her AND being directly responsible for the Dark Ages and Lex's scenes with Lana. The Chloe scene was such a fun way to get the whole "not everything is your fault, Clark/you can't save everyone/do everything" speech for the umpteenth time. And as for Lex, I liked that he wasn't particularly moved by Lana's sentimental memories and he was straightforward about it, but not a dick about it. It really did feel like a challenge, and like he wasn't just treating her like a dumb kid. And then the end scene was just really playful in a way I enjoyed. Like, Lex really doesn't care if The Talon is a coffee shop or a parking garage, but he likes Lana's gumption. And tax breaks. Tax breaks are good. The rest of the episode, not so much.
Maybe I'm naive, but when I'm watching a movie about a hidden teenage alien who is invincible and turns into the greatest flying tight wearing superhero of all time, I don't have a problem believing most everything else.
Just wanted to add, that even on the not so good episodes of Smallville, the core group of actors/characters make it worth continuing. .. . but please keep up the honesty and feedback, you three. That's why i am here every Wednesday. For real.
Speaking of Allison I always thought she was such a great supporting force of an actor and in an interview while being asked about the dangers of potential typecasting of Tom and Rosie, she was never willing to let you be branded that way. ;)
The thing I love about this episode, even though I agree it's definitely not within the top tier, is that it prominently features Whitney. I always like that character. I felt like the after did not get enough screen time. He was one of the few supporting characters that had a true Arc. Other supporting characters had arcs later in the series, but by that point they were more than just supporting characters, like Oliver Queen. I felt like there was a lot of potential with the Whitney character and he is extremely underutilized and underrated. The scene at his father's funeral was the first time watching the series where I actually felt an emotional, visceral response and it was all because of him and how he played the character.
Just a fun fact given Kavan Smith was one of the guest stars for this episode. He was one of 23 actors who appeared in Stargate SG-1 to show up as a guest star in Smallville. 13 actors from it's sister show Stargate Atlantis also appear in Smallville throughout the 10 seasons of the show.
This is the first of many episodes that seem to be inspired by famous horror films. I always refer to this one as the "Lost Boys" episode. There are many others to come, such as the "Flatliners" episode, the "Stir of Echoes" episode, the "Saw" episode to name a few.
Don't let critics change the way you guys do this show. In my opinion, this is exactly the way this podcast should be. You guys are both honest and funny; and you don't take yourselves or the show too serious. I absolutely despise the kinds of chat shows that do nothing but praise every episode of a show as though everything is flawless. This podcast is pitch perfect.
Definitely don’t shy away from talking about Allison. She was a big driver of the show! Despite all her bs, you can discuss the art.
Thanks osvaldo
Agreed, she was a HUGE part of the show and a great actress
agreed
I agree. I really liked her character arc from the beginning to the end of the show. She contributed a lot to the show. Poor decisions afterward don't discredit that.
Agree. Chlark was my favourite relationship in the show. The characters really balanced each other.
Every time Tom criticizes an episode and Michael gets to say “see it’s not me tearing the episode to shreds” I die laughing. You guys are hilarious.
I love Tom nitpicking the plot right out of the gate lol.
🤣🤣
The tattoo wore off as he was passing through the wall…his arm was the casualty and got stuck in the wall. He mentions it later when Clark & Whitney are caught at the hideout & says it didn’t really hurt too bad and that it was fused closed so there was no open wound.
What he said
Ahhhhhh nice catch
It's weird I didn't even remember the arm coming into this but I remember seeing the arm in Clark's xray vision. It's weird how much the show brings back in terms of memory or even things you just didn't notice the first time watching.
In some other world it was his manhood that fell off and got fused.
Haha right! Thanks pal
I 100% agree! There’s way to much, everything’s a 10 or a 0 nowadays.
You should listen to the Boy Meets World podcast. For the first 3 seasons, it felt like all 3 hosts hated the show. Now they're getting to where the show really took off and they love it all of a sudden. But they're being very honest about how they feel about every episode.
@@TalkVillePodcast you guys are my fav podcast

I agree with this completely! One of the things that contributes to them feeling like real people 😊
Longing for simple, wholesome things. Yet unattainable to them. Relatable and tragic.
Yes, that scene where Lex is being hugged by his dad but you know it’s for the cameras, and he stares wistfully at the Kents…👌. Perfect delivery without saying a word.
also the script isn't about characters talking to each other but to the audience

@@lawrencedockery9389 I think it is spam. It was a reply to lots of posts and with a different @ sometimes. A lot more than 5!
On the same page as us ❤️
I think my favorite moment from the episode is about 10 minutes in where Rosey takes a pause before he “shit’s on it” with Tom losing his shit lol
🤣🤣🤣
Great way of dissecting an episode you didn't enjoy while also respecting it. Well done!
Once again like every Wednesday, working and listening to this fabulous podcast that I love so much! Thank you Michael... and Tom and Ryan. 🤭 Saludos desde Mexico. 😘
Thanks for coming back Jackie ❤️
In this episode Clark was chopping wood with his hand. In the Crisis On Infinite Earths (Batwoman) episode where Tom appeared as Clark Kent, Clark was chopping wood using an axe and Tyler Hoechlin's Clark makes the comment "I could do that with one hand." - Maybe a call back to this episode . . . that's the kind of thing they were doing.
This warms my heart in a way... Man this show is amazing 😍
awww im glade you guys are still friends and still talk about smallville.
This episode of Talk Ville was really fun!! Thanks guys!!
I love the opening song and visuals. I used to “tape” Smallville on our VCR and then we would watch it after the kids went to sleep. Haha. Great episode. Don’t stop. Keep it up, please.
Love what you guys are doing! Watching along with it and can't thank you guys enough for doing this!
Thanks for joining bud
I've got my wife watching this for the first time, and sharing all these podcast tidbits along the way :) Thanks for the insights, guys.
Love to hear that
This episode was kind of nice where it highlighted Eric Johnson's Whitney Fordman as he felt like a background character in some way, but this episode really was the start of Whitney becoming important to the season 1 storyline.
I tune in every week. Haven't watched smallville in years but love hearing the honesty from the two best characters.
Peace!
We love this show!! This got us through quarantine thank you so much!! We will never stop supporting this show no matter how old it gets!! But could y’all share more BTS stories on set??
Absolutely pal. We’ll sprinkle in some more
@@TalkVillePodcast yeah!
You guys made this episode better with trash talking it. Funniest episode so far and for that I give you guys 3 Roses.
"🤟 Bingo, leave it in! 🤟" 🤣
This is my favourite childhood TV show and I still love it as much as I used to 😍
Tom - I definitely will want a portable CD 💿 player in my car too to rewatch the entire series again 😂
I love Michael’s commentaries the entire time and yes!
@@smdias65 they're easy films to forget
@@ninjanibba4259 Ouch! 🤣🤣They weren't the greatest.
Best part of my day when I get home to watch this on UA-cam
Yes Robert Singer was a long time EP on Supernatural and there is even a well-loved character in the show named after him...of course I'm referring to Jim Beaver's iconic character of Bobby Singer!!!!
Ohhhh
Seeing Tom lose it laughing at his own show is incredibly funny to me. I'm glad you guys can look back on these honestly. I love this podcast!
"Always hold on to Smallville" Last line of Jonathan Kent :D
I love love love that there is a rewatch podcast for Smallville with these guys it’s brought back so many healthy memories for me!
My favorite podcast right now ❤🎉🤩 U guys are awesome for revisiting Smallville 😍
I giggled at “Clark smashing logs” 😂 … please start that band 🤝🏾😂
"I'M SHITTIN ON IT!" That's so funny 😂
🤣🤣🤣
love love love this podcast! Smallville save my sanity when I was deployed to Iraq in 07 and just had seasons 1-5 on DVD and me and my squad would huddle in our tent watching Smallville whenever we had downtime on my small DvD player.
Lex's smirk just does it for me without him saying a word 😂
Robert Singer literally named one of his main supporting characters after himself lol, Bobby Singer, in the show Supernatural ❤
@@CorbCorbin They still reconciled at the end of the season, which was nice exit for Whitney.
Great one coming next week ❤️
Man I actually appreciate you guys giving a bomb and such. Some episodes are rough but this show does have overall just so many gems
Good catch
This has been so amazing I can not wait to hear more help with my depression

I love that you guys are getting more and more comfortable in discussing and analyzing the show. Keep up the great work!
Excited to hear your take! For me this wasn't the best EP but there were parts I liked. Whitney had a ton of character development. We saw new depths out of him. This ep. reminded me a little bit of The Lost Boys. Don't know if that was intentional or not. Love ya guys 💙
Agreed. Very meh episode. Hmm. Lost Boys vibe. Interesting..
Yup, I got this too! (But less cool 😄)
@@dawnbevins451 💯🤣
@@jettqk1 yep!!! That's exactly where I picked up on it too! 😆
I just wanted to say, I love the whole rewatch of Smallville. I try to watch when I can and wanted to say thank you!
🤣🤣🤣 slammed the button
Maybe I'm naive, but when I'm watching a movie about a hidden teenage alien who is invincible and turns into the greatest flying tight wearing superhero of all time, I don't have a problem believing most everything else.
Just wanted to add, that even on the not so good episodes of Smallville, the core group of actors/characters make it worth continuing. .. . but please keep up the honesty and feedback, you three. That's why i am here every Wednesday. For real.
That story with your grandfather's journal entry about you had me dying. He sounds awesome.
I thought it was so funny too lol🤣
I love how comfortable you all are getting! Good energy in this episode.
Keep "shitting" on the episodes! Watching you guys catch things that don't make any sense 20 years later is so fun lol I love it. 🤣
Speaking of Allison I always thought she was such a great supporting force of an actor and in an interview while being asked about the dangers of potential typecasting of Tom and Rosie, she was never willing to let you be branded that way. ;)
This episode is worth a rewatch just to see Evangeline Lilly.. I would never have known she was on Smallville and I’ve seen every episode
What? I haven't noticed her and I rewatched the episode yesterday!!
Happy you mentioned this. As soon as I heard Kavan's name I made the Stargate connection.
I remember finding the website link for the high school paper, the Torch. They would update it every couple weeks.
This is the first of many episodes that seem to be inspired by famous horror films. I always refer to this one as the "Lost Boys" episode. There are many others to come, such as the "Flatliners" episode, the "Stir of Echoes" episode, the "Saw" episode to name a few.
Yup someone else also pointed out Lost boys parallels here
Don't let critics change the way you guys do this show. In my opinion, this is exactly the way this podcast should be. You guys are both honest and funny; and you don't take yourselves or the show too serious. I absolutely despise the kinds of chat shows that do nothing but praise every episode of a show as though everything is flawless. This podcast is pitch perfect.
