you know they wanted him to reprise the Superman role in the CW-verse shows but he said. "I cant actually wear the suit. Its in my contract. No cape. No tights. No flight." Its why in the Smallville finale they had to CGI him in the suit. He flat out refused to wear it. Then on Crisis on Infinite Earths he's like "Sure i'll play Clark Kent... but I wont wear the suit. Deal with it."

@@stupidhandles I don’t think there’s any issue with having your achievements in your home. If he was a recording artist , if he was an athlete, etc…he might have some trophies/ awards. He does podcasting and has some of the memorabilia of what he’s famous for in the background. I don’t think it makes him egotistical to have memories from his profession. Especially since his podcast is centered around the show the show he is showcasing.

Christian bale talked about it. It was a hot day. They had been filming for like 13 hours. Everyone on set was hot, tired and pissed off and the director kept going let’s just try one more time. And he snapped. He said like an hour later he called the guy and apologized. He said the director was like okay let’s just wrap for the day. And the take used on screen was one they had done like 3 hours prior.

I love watching stuff like this from you guys. I've been a fan, and still watch Smallvile to this day since 2003, and It's so surreal to hear from actors we love talk about these challenges and times where you're stressed and have moments like this on or off set. We're all human and any time a well known actor/actress has a stressful moment recorded and released to the public, everyone makes a big deal about it like it's abnormal. Anyway, I thought this was cool how Tom took ownership of the situation, learned from it, talked about it live, and doesn't make excuses.

I didn’t feel like I was really chewing much just sort of having it in my cheek but then I saw a video and I am just chomping the crap out of it 100 mph and it looked so horrible and unprofessional and I stopped that very day … I realize it’s not coke but still seeing it objectively was eye opening

How many times do we judge someone for a rage out video online? That's like that person's worst moment. And the whole internet treats them like that's how they are every second of every day. I treated some guys at the hardware store like crap a few years back, and I actually went back and talked to the guys and said I was sorry for it. Middle of a project, hungry, stressed, and I took it out on them. The guys were cool about it, but I still look back at my behavior with a lot of shame. We should all be a lot less judgemental when these freakouts appear. Everybody has their moments, but most of us are lucky enough that it doesn't hit the internet.

The guy was being incredibly unprofessional and distracting. I've been an Actor where I've had to give an intensely emotional performance and in my eye-line is a key grip looking bored at me. I've been polite about it, but I totally understand the anger/frustration especially if you're trying to get into the proper state and the clock is running out AND you're feeling the pressure of being the reason this movie will either succeed or fail.

Tom Cruise had a similar moment during the filming of the last Mission Impossible movie. He blew up at members of the crew for violating Covid protocols. It’s hard to imagine that such a burst of anger was the result of just one incident. What’s more likely is things were building up. Several things may have been going wrong and finally it just reached a boiling point.

    • @mycenia
      @mycenia 9 місяців тому +3

I think Cruise's outburst was more understandable and he explained himself well. So many people depended on that production succeeding, on that set and off, that anything short of total compliance was selfishness.

So Cruise blew up because crew were ignoring the health and safety of those around them, and doing stuff that could shut down the production, affecting everyone's earnings?
Like him or not for his off screen stuff, he is respected for his proffessionalism and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of his team, and not just those in front of the lens like so many other actors.

Pretty sure it was the millions of dollars riding on the only movie set in production at the time. Of which most of the money was his and he had gotten special license to keep the production going as long as protocol was followed. And he was yelling to be heard, it was all the crew and outside.

It’s interesting that Michael feels that someone filming your worst day and publicizing it is a good thing. I feel the opposite. If someone did that to me, I would feel a bit vindicated because the act of tattling and trying to ruin someone’s reputation is SO much worse than that explosion most of us (if not all of us) experience to one degree or another, I wouldn’t be so much apologizing as I would be wanting to know who violated my privacy and who was getting off on this. As a fan, I don’t want to every celebrity’s bad day. I don’t want to see how awful an industry it is that they can’t even have a bad day without it being leaked. That’s a sick industry to be in. There are going to be fewer and fewer talented actors and actresses if they are not protected and given a proper environment in which to work in.
Have an on set psychiatrist, I don’t care, but the actors need to be in an environment where they are not double crossed.

See... people fuck up but we live in such a cancel culture where you get lynched... people make mistakes, you have perspective, time and better yourself... it is called growth and being a human! Love you guys and all involved in Smallville. You were my childhood! Much love from the UK - OH

    These are good guys.
You don't have to hit rock bottom to make changes though.
Just know that you can do it. Your mind has more power than you might know.

I did this not two weeks ago to a guy who was revving his engine in the parking lot next to my house while I was trying to sleep. Just came out there and totally blew up at him. He was having car troubles 😞

To me, to yell at someone like that in a professional field is plan entitlement and straight-up harassment or abusive. They're not doing something that means life or death, and you can't and shouldn't have that behavior in other fields. It's absolute abuse of power.

I have not had this happen yet, but I know it will, and I do not look forward to that humbling moment.

It's part of being a good conscientious human, to look back on your past and think we could've acted better in certain situations. Question is, at what point do we stop replying those bad moments to ourselves and forgive ourselves?
    The answer is 'immediately'.

I got nick named in Highschool Superman and it followed me to the point I have a collection of superman. I forgot the reason why I was called that for 20 years until I hit my bottom and realized Supermans main power was calmness and leadership to sacrifice for others. I now proudly continue that nickname with my Family without any direction from me. Superman/Clark has always been so the right thing regardless of the sacrifice and that's why in a world wide poll asking what symbol do you know, The Cross was number one and S on the chest logo was number two shows how powerful this ideal really is. Thanks Tom for being down to earth and I understand why they casted you.

Public humiliation is very humbling I most caes. It has happened to me and I do not repeat that behavior. Unless the humiliation is done to hurt a person for no good reason. Then we call that bullying I would say.

I really have struggled with self-awareness my whole life, like body image issues and social anxiety are a huge part of it. But picturing yourself from someone else’s perspective can really help you gain self-awareness and be able to change things about yourself that you would not like, if you were the other person. I’ve done a few bad things in the recent past and I definitely don’t want to be that person.
