    Mr. Onai of Palace Hotel Tokyo is my favorite chef. He is originally a French chef, but when he cooks it, it becomes very delicious.

    I like how every little piece gets its own detailed attention instead of just a big ol pan full of stuff tossed and stirred together or just couple steaks just tossed once on each side

      @@jshh628 a friend recently treated me to a $300 meal including a steak that cost over $200 - yeah it was tender and buttery but I won't go back for that when I would prefer an $8 piece of home-cooked fillet steak that will be more satisfying - and without all the hoo-ha - I'm thinking this kind of tomfoolery is likely more associated with the fact that beef in Japan typically cost about 10x what it did in Oz or the US so was seen as a luxury food deserving special treatment.

    Hiba beef(比婆牛) raised in the northern part of Hiroshima Prefecture is the most delicious wagyu I have ever eaten.

    $250 for a meal… not cheap, but then again that was quite a big piece of Wagyu and in a fancy establishment.
    These are the best “fall asleep” videos I know about.

      Only fake wasabi is super spicy because it's mostly just horseradish, real wasabi is earthy and a little bit sweet

    A time sensitive meal, due to the Hotel clients and Hotel serving speed , but he did a damn fine job on the steak,,searing and seasoning each end. Tasty. I would go back to that one.

    These videos are great, and the food always looks amazing, but I really wish he would give a rating or review or some sort. Feedback on taste, preparation, cooking method and technique, or just overall experience would be interesting.

      I think that would probably detract from the style of the video if it was included...however, maybe some separate videos that go over "ratings" for the main videos would be interesting to watch. Though it might also be rude to do that. Especially when they allow filming of the experience.

      Тебе таз гречи положи или макарон - ты и рад будешь. А для меня такие порции как на видео больше пробуждают аппетит. Только вот в случае с этой едой - это надо быть богатеем, чтобы позволить её каждый день

      The heat made it twitch. Same can happen in contact with salt. I assume it was allready dead, since the chef didn't had to remove the guts (black stuff).

    that's a lot of money for a small meal.
    I ate a 7 course meal at a very high end restaurant with paired wine for every course and it cost a little less.

    I saw 2 flaws when he was preparing the fried rice w/ eggs: In my book you shouldn't turn the rice over all the time. Let it rest, let it brown and crispify a bit. After adding the 2 eggs give the rice just a few more tosses and serve immediately. Most people like when the egg is still a bit wet and not dry and tough. And too many ingredients/flavoring. Keep it clean! Keep it simple!
