Not sure why the algorithm brought me to this... But I'm now addicted
yea me too. I need to get back to my life but can't look away.
Same here brotha lol i just started watching two days ago, and I’m already watching videos uploaded 9 months ago lmao
Lol same. 🛻 🚤
Same
If I was the dude w the ski trailer and I kept messing it up that many times I’d get out and lift the trailer straight
Exactly.
Or back down the ramp I was kinda lined up with and move the jet ski.
His ego kept getting in the way
@@harrysweeten9417 That's what I was thinking.
He's not a thinker.
Great Channel! One idea I've told people at public ramps when having trouble backing up with empty jetski trailer (Can be difficult) is to just unhook the trailer, walk it down by hand and line up to jetski - They are lightweight- Then just back truck up to trailer, hook up and pull ski out. Even some smaller boat trailers can be walked down by hand and lined up. Some people have told me that idea has helped with their ramp anxiety. :) Another idea is if your aleady all hooked up with empty trailor and it starts to become "mis-aligned" just get out , pick up the trailor, re-align then continue.
What made me watch this video was boss lady wowzers 😍😛
I got a 190 but I could watch "boss lady" alllll dayyy long lol
Damn right
Wish she had a 2 piece on!
Hell yeah lol, she's got thunder thighs and a nice ole booty haha 😄
Yep
I told my wife to look down her shirt and spell Attic
THESE are so painful to watch but I keep coming back
You don’t want to watch, but you can’t stop yourself. So so funny. Keep them coming. Thanks from England..
You left us with hanging with ‘so what happened’? Boss lady, jet ski trailer guy and random boat abandon dude. What happened in the end?
I was thinking that too
They can't show death on you tube !
He’s still there!! Lol
Legend has it they are still at the dock
😍 Boss lady
We all have to start somewhere and seeing this brings me back...but if I were that bad to begin with I wouldn’t be boating now lol.
I put Snow poles on either end of my jet ski trailer so that I can see where they are
I was stuck a boat ramp at Lake Mead for 2 hours while the rest of my party looked for a camp site. Best entertainment ever. Way better than TV.
They really screwed up by putting Parking Stalls directly in front of the ramp. If those Stalls weren't there, there would be a lot fewer problems with people trying to back down
Real state is probably very expensive in Miami. Gotta squeeze parking in where you can.
Broncos Guru, we always put an off road flag on our little trailers so we can use the flag to back up.
its funny .. i like thies videos .. watching From KUWAIT 🇰🇼 thank you so much bro
That guy leaving his boat on the dock at a busy public boat ramp needs his drain plug pulled
And fined, I think thats what they do there?
It their culture to do that sort of thing
@@paulhunter9613 Yup. It's always the same people. And it IS their culture to be rude and inconsiderate.
He is lucky there is no fishing tournament around:)
I wouldn’t have been surprised if someone untied it for him. That was rude and highly inconsiderate.
The safety lockout has been bypassed on that Johnson outboard. That looks like a late 1990s, maybe early 2000s Johnson. I run a 1976 Johnson 55 on my pontoon boat and it has the lockout that prevents starting in gear. Also there is a fast idle lever on the control box that allows throttle up without putting it in gear.
The neutral safety switch fails fairly often. When it happens on the water, people bypass it then never replace it.
But, a lot of people forget that although the law requires the safety switch, outboard manufacturers used to recommend that you put it in gear before starting to reduce wear on lower units. It is also common for performance boats with speedmaster lower units. The instructions told you to warm it up in neutral, kill it then shift and restart.
@@adamr9215 That is true. They often get bypassed when they fail. Some older outboards do not even have a neutral at all. Mercury used to make outboards that were called direct reversing. They were direct drive and the 2-stroke engine could be started in either direction. They were started in reverse to back away from the dock, shut off and restarted in forward to drive away. Race boats use direct drive lower units and forego reverse function completely.
@@oldjohnnyrude8404 Yea, I know the old outboards. They did all kinds of stuff. Back when your only throttle was timing control, not an air valve in the carb. They made some with neutral, but no reverse. With some, neutral was just a clutch on the shaft. Lots of interesting designs back in the early years.
When I was drag racing Merc outboards on a Liberator, you saw basically 3 different lower units. The speedmaster direct drive, the sportmaster that was the shiftable performance unit, or you saw modified torquemaster lowers. To make a torquemaster live, you started in gear. Sportmaster lowers would shift while running, but it was recommended that you start in gear. Speedmaster lower units, well, warm it up on the hose, get it in the water and point it away from shore.
Boss lady can't drown got her floaties on. 😊
Some heavy hangers right there.
Nice floaties👀 at that
1:55 oh boy
Love the channel. Good material. Your ability to narrate fun without being a hater is on point.
the girl in the green suit made me hope it would take even longer to dock, very easy on the eyes! 😜
Yeah some of these boat babes are babes.
you too small for that latina she needs one like mine
Yup made me want to smack one of those hams
1:55 oh boy
I have a cdl. Anybody think of doing some backing practice in an empty lot before going to a congested boat. O wait. That would be thinking ahead. Lol
actually backing a boat is harder than backing a 53 ft trailer.
@@charlesfoutch1132 The key word was practice.. You can either practice like an idiot, an get better, or just show up at the ramp and prove you are one…!!!
@@williampeltack5782 trust me i've had lots of practice.
Hello from Ohio. I'll say it again Mr. Guru, your narrating is simply the best. Hilarious. A++
I could watch this content all day 😂😂😂 I never get mad at the ramp tho I always try to help out or give advice.
I have watched many of these and it never ceases to amaze me that no one ever seems to have a front and rear lanyard ready to tie off at the dock and have no game plan, and that people are always pulling the boat here and there when they have a motor on the back that does that; I wonder if they push their car into parking lots.
I decided when i got a boat i was going to find the steepest narrowest ramp possible and learn on that (lot was empty) it was a good idea cause now i back down with ease and confidence. Im almost better in reverse than forward ;) keep up the great content
These boat ramp videos are the best and Broncos guru you are the best commentator thanks for the great content
i promise that trucks got a backup camera, not being able to see the little trailers ain’t an excuse anymore! lol
Exactly. Its a newer f150. There is no excuse for not knowing your vehicles features and at least practicing in an empty parking lot etc. Pure arrogance.
Just wondering if anyone of you have tried to use either of the potions for backing a trailer up. For me the camera is next to worthless mainly cause when you can finally see it’s starting to turn its to late and you have to pull ahead. A boat trailer might be different tho. The back up assist might work for some people but seems to me it is a good idea to add price to the vehicle and doesn’t help much.
@@badm0t0rf1ng3r base model work trucks have backup cameras...
@@dustinrhodes1091 backup assist is practically standard on fords that have a tow package.. that said, they require a sticker on the trailer and calibrating it specific for each trailer, annnnd i would say that nobody uses the backup cam solely for backing a trailer (use the mirrors) but just like every other driving experience you utilize all the things and you check the camera to make sure your trailer isn’t jacked 90 degrees...
@@srooster4410 I can agree with that except I have a 2015 that has no backup assist
These people just make my day cannot believe how much trouble they have
OMG You're so right! The 1st two were so cringe, I couldn't take any more! LOL. You need to have a video of "Now we have a lineup today folks of "nothin' but Net" launches and landings! Stars are aligned!" Then I won't be sitting here at my computer trying to push my monitor over to the wall to 'assist!' ha ha h a
everyone but the "boss lady" was clueless on that boat and wth happened with the boat that they just parked and left behind?
And I thought i was bad docking... Solid work guys...
I used to grab a coffee and go to boat launch to watch the show, best show ever :).
( o y o) Boss lady built right!! 😊
I think you could legit build a course on how to dock with all of this footage. You have dozens of various examples of common issues when docking and how things go wrong. Do it!
It’s amazing , if you own a truck , you need to know how to back up, wow
The only thing better than owning a boat, is hanging out at the boat ramp at the end of the day! Free entertainment! It will also give you (the people watching) anxiety!!
Never ceases to amaze me that people will spend money on a boat, but cheap out on dock-lines (or just not use them). They take seconds to deploy or stow, one set will last forever on a trailered boat, and they make life so much easier!
The neutral safety switch is in the control box on most older outboards. So, if you have a problem with the shift cable or linkage, the box may be in neutral and able to start when the lower unit is in gear. A friend of mine went though it a few months ago. Linkage cracked and wouldn’t pull out of forward gear no matter where the shifter was set. I popped the cowl off and simply reached over and shifted it by hand to get us back.
I am addicted to your channel, I live in Clearwater Florida and I see this all the time!
the tailgate down tip actually sounds great even for larger trailers that you can see. on my Colorado the whole tailgate comes off in a few seconds so that would eliminate the risk of hitting the tailgate on the trailer
That era Johnson (and Evinrude) have an ignition cutoff (shift interrupt) switch attached to the shift linkage under the intake manifold for switching from forward to reverse and vice versa. The neutral safety switch should be in the binnacle/shift lever assembly. It can be bypassed easily by splicing the two wires. If the switch fails, then the motor should not start at all. This was defintely bypassed.
Yes and. If it is stuck in gear without them knowing it could keep them from starting because that cut off is a normally open relay (usually) so it will not keep the starter from turning it just keeps the spark from firing
In a funny way, i feel bad for these motors having be mistreated the way they are from the idiot drivers. I guess the marine repair dealers benefit from them.
Tie off a bow line then reverse, pulls ya to the dock almost every time ;)
I cannot believe that guy just left his boat at the dock. Stay classy!
i love this channel. 10000 times better than the crap on tv!
Backing up a jetski trailer, when you can't see it is a tough task. It's not surprising that so many people struggle with it.
Just saying, there is a neat contraption called a back up camera. If your vehicle doesn't come with one you can buy one that goes by your tag and has a nifty little screen (looks like a small gps) for you to see where you're going. 👍👍
The "front" of the boat is called the bow, "rear" is called the stern, motor is mounted on the transom.
If your small boat has a natural pivot point at the midships cleat (not "hook"), a single midship line (not rope) to a piling will hold you nicely at the dock while the crew (ha!) secures additional lines forward and aft.
I’ve been hooking to trailers since I was 10yo. It’s hard for me to imagine not being able to back down a ramp.
Same here. Im only 20 but come on! It’s SO easy!
@@dustinrhodes1091 it truly is. Tiny trailers are a bit tougher, but you just don’t crank the wheel as far. I watched one of these where a guy was picking the trailer up and straightening it up... seriously?
@@nate4036 saw 1 similar and it’s like simply wow guys🤦🏼♂️
@@nate4036 I'm not too proud that I wouldn't p/u & straighten if I was in serious jackknife-position trouble, but to me, if feasible, pulling forward & trying again is preferable.
Problem is any idiot with some $$ can buy a boat and go out with little or no training. And then u mix in alcohol and it's a disaster..I was a dummy my first summer..
Absolutely brutal !
Love watching your channel.
5:24 When you're so bad at getting a trailer down a ramp that you end up with the trailer pointing up the ramp instead of down it.
This is better than watching car crashes!
Yes, you were right most outboards will not start if the throttle is in gear. I'm not sure if all outboards are like that but most should be especially the newer ones.
Im actually glad the guy at the end had engine trouble
@gmenclik how do I add a few more likes to this ?? Lol
I came down here to find a comment like this haha! 👙
A work around for true neutral is turning off the engine. They are literally at the dock. At this point, attach lines and pull it in.
Boy o boy, that first boat, that's the kind of mate i need in my boat.
You ain't kidding 😛
It’s buoy o’ buoy....lol
i love the way the people on board dont even attempt to help when coming in to the dock. the boy in the back of the boat did nothing. not even a line in his hand.. ,lol
That’s how you don’t get invited to go out on my boat again. He’s owes the captain a tank of fuel for either the truck or boat...no free rides.
Docking against the current, you should tie off the bow, then steer away from the dock in idle will pull the stern in.
need some Benny Hill music here.....
Boss lady looks like she could star in a benny hill video
He's right, sometimes it's better to pull out and start again. LOL 😉
For all ski owners. Buy a set of smiths guid posts for your trailer and you’ll always be able to see it and it’ll help get the ski on the trailer easier and the lights help tow at night. Put them on every boat and ski trailer I own.
I’ve never had much trouble docking, but for a docking poles last year. Should be standard issue, especially when doing it without help.
As a truck driver- “practice makes perfect 🤩
Even with the gearbox in neutral the prop will spin if there’s zero resistance on the propeller. You can also defeat the neutral switch
The silver pickup jet ski guy should’ve just unhooked is trailer and backed it in by hand the hooked back up to load the ski
Exactly. Great minds think alike, lol.
they are gaining experience points :)
Some days, the wind, current, and other people not giving you time space on approach, really make a challenge. 90 percent of the time, I am alone. Actually easier most of the time. Owning a plastic boat, no fenders, not worrying about scratches,.... priceless.
Imagine being in a country where a huge population that owns a vessel can't perform the most basic manoeuvres required to operate their vessel. I'd be embarrassed, more money than brains.
Well in fairness most people will only use their boat maybe 1 or 2 times a month, often with months of not using it for winter or whatever. So their total experience, even after years of ownership, can be a matter of just a few hours. When I changed from my 23ft boat to a 26ft I thought it would be harder to tow and reverse but the longer boat is actually easier. Little short trailers are actually the worst.
@@bigglyguy8429 Short/narrow trailers are ALWAYS worse. I'm no trucker but I'd bet I can back up a 53 foot semi trailer a lot more precisely than a 6x12 utility trailer and with a lot less "waggle" to it. I work in the boating industry, and one of our common terms is "money doesn't buy sense." On top of that, legally, in my profession we aren't allowed to help boaters as it would be considered a liability for the boaters, the boats, and for our own sake. Sounds backwards as hell, but when you see the caliber of people that can afford a 20k+ boat.. you'd agree.
I have a 20 yr old johnson 225 ocean pro on my boat. it will not start in gear, This summer after many years of perfect running it was in the shop for 15 weeks on and off for new problems. After $4100 I ended up replacing every original part on the engine, Stater, starter, powerpack, plugs, coils, oil pump, washdown pump, bilge, and on and on. looking forward to next summer
This videos are the best.
This is becoming one of my favorite channels on youtube. Not because of the boats. There are boats?
the lock out to stop from starting in gear is in the shift control at helm not in the out board its self!! so many on older boats are bypassed because they have failed it cheaper than fixing right
Absolutely, when you need to correct the trailer use all the ‘real estate’ you can!
Got me a jet ski and ended up addicted to this show 😂😂
Boss lady would look real good on a choppy day 👀
She’d give herself 2 black eyes lol
Imagine being the kids in the first part and seeing these comments about your mom 😂
Mom's aren't supposed to look like that, lol. Lady... you've got a 15yr old son there... give the kid a break and throw something a bit less "Playboyish" on.
Power poles make it so easy to dock a boat. That or just push it off the dock and drive it out with the trolling motor remote and spot lock it!
I Love your channel the narration is awesome, I have sat at the ramp and watched this kind of nonsense so many times and it makes me nuts. However, sitting at home watching on my computer with no stress its the funniest s**t ever!!!
that la familia boat looks like it's ready to roll over jesus
Go home and practice backing trailers till you get it right, stop taking up so much time at the public ramp!
Just leaving the boat at the ramp/dock. Sort of like just stopping in the middle of the road, disrupting traffic, for a casual conversation.
0:10 There are not enough "fascepalms" in this world for these guys..LOOOOOL
Start in gear last week on an outboard. The outboard shift connector broke and the lower end was shifted to reverse. So the motor thinks it's on neutral which allows it to start. But when you start, the prop is already spinning
That outboards impeller will be toast now haha
I was enjoying the view of the bow
So nice the owners of "la familia".. they are so considerate of everyone else. I wonder how they are driving a car...
I back up a pwc every weekend with a truck. This guy can see the trailer in the camera, no need to lower the tailgate.
This guy just needs to find an empty parking lot and practice! 😁
Trailer steering technique palm of hand 6 o'clock on the steering wheel (with trailer and steering wheel straight) want the trailer to go right move your hand right. Want trailer to go left move your hand left. :)
Wow, glad that last engine didn't turn over, it would be fried pretty fast, being out of the water!
First one was like watching golf ⛳ and hoping he drained the putt
That boat has a middle cleat which is perfect for docking.
I've only used a middle cleat for docking my boat by myself. Just make sure you tie it off securely. The boat isn't going to go anywhere.
Small shorter trailers are more difficult to back up. I've had small and large trailers. Unloaded, like in this video, just get out of the truck and pull the trailer sideways. It's easier than going back and forth in your truck.
If trailer is small and not as wide as vehicle, try keeping on drive side mirror and maintain a gentle arc....
Makes me feel good that I know what I'm doing.
Amen
If the shift linkage is not set correctly it may start in gear, and be difficult or impossible to put it in gear or take it out of gear.
Some older Johnson outboards have an electronic shift and it the fuse blows it locks in forward so you can get home.
Boss lady done fed those boiz
You said it perfect drop the tailgate best thing for a small trailer
I agree with another watcher take that trailer both empty and then loaded and practice and practice with no pressure from audience 👍
wild world of bumper boats
Most modern vehicles have a backup camera that should make it easy to see that tiny trailer
I can back up a bass boat all day.. but a jetski trailer is different lol once you move that steer it moves right away especially with no weight on it
I remember the first time I had piloted a boat, it wasn't that difficult.
Beginners luck
