@@Neil.AnblomiI think Cowan well addresses his experience with a product as a sample size of one. However, he does have consistent record for his review process and the number of reviews. I trust his recommendations of a product written he reviews them, as they are consistent and he is quite honest and methodical with his procedures.

Whoa! I like how Steiner moved the electronics and battery compartment to the top of the body allowing them to move the lenses toward the lower part of the optic, closer to the bore. Seems like it could make for easier acquisition of the dot. Very smart and cool design! 😎

It doesn’t even have to be a scuffle. In my experience carrying with an optic, I’ve rocked it on doors, door jams, my truck, gates, and all kinds of stuff. It always makes me cringe and then I remember my optic survived your testing and I’m put at ease. Thanks for the reviews! RMRs and Holosuns to be exact.

Truth! I smashed a romeo 1 slipping on ice getting off of my tractor. Didn't even hit the concrete, metal step slammed into my gut (aiwb carry) going down.
Spiderwebbed the glass bad, though I suppose technically the optic still worked. My local dealer swapped it out for me for free...but I think I went through 3 Romeo 1's in 3 years before I finally switched over.
To be fair, I'm sure other optics would probably crack too if they had 180 lb guy slip into a metal step as dead weight.
My next optic will probably be the Acro once they have all the kinks worked out and it's widely available.

Aaron, as part of your training series, do you think you could discuss the notion of a post ignition push vs a pre-ignition flinch? If you slow down the footage when you're doing the 1 handed manipulations we can see how you're controlling for the recoil right after the trigger breaks (even when it's a dummy). This topic doesn't get a lot of attention.

when i first got mine i noticed a small shift, but i'm not sure if that was d/t the optic itself or the screw mount. I eventually rechecked the screw mounts, and re-zero'd the optic and test fired 25 rounds (not enough to my arbitrary standards) and dropped it on hard wood floor surfaces (5 times from waist height), and racked the slide multiple times to simulate gunfire (not a great representation of slide reciprocation under real live fire) to get the red dot to "shift." So far it has not moved. Sorry for the run-on sentence, but hopefully this may give users of the MPS some value to their insight....

Indeed. I’ve only bought 24 round mags since getting my 509T. I have 6 24 round mags and 1 17 I use for concealed carry. I certainly don’t agree with the $60 price tag, but I wanted them, so I bought them. When I sold my 509T, I kept the 24 round mags and put in 2 17 rounders. I run the LS now. With the heavy recoil spring from the 509T. Wish they would have shipped both springs with the LS. The yellow one it ships with is too light and makes the gun snappy as all hell. Which is why I took the heavy one from my 509T. 🇺🇸

But...if you see what settings they are at for that battery life it is typically one or two clicks above night setting levels....which is bright for dark areas with no weapon light use. you pump that up a couple more notches for a bright sunny day or enough to use a weapon light and you are only a click or two from max brightness (which would significantly lower battery life). Most people change batteries once or twice a year.

@@jessegpresley Your right, I wasn’t being very clear. I buy more made in America items than the average individual. I seek out locally made things and I try to avoid buying from countries that don’t treat their citizens fairly that’s not just China. However, the Chinese government is an enemy of America so I especially try to avoid them. Sometimes what is more important than the country of origin is the quality of the product. Especially when that product is being used to protect your life. I own several optics only one of made in China, that one is the 509t. Holosun is innovative and they are making strides to push the red dot industries forward. Moreover, American made is not always better and sometimes it’s more important to buy the better product. Chevy and ford’s not made in America really but seen as American companies build trash. I no that as a fact, it’s my line of work. Most shoes are made actual in China. Some companies like new balance make American made shoes and they come at a premium. The very few phones made in America have pretty dated tech and are not worth the premium they are demanding. Again I know this I just replaced my phone so of course I looked for an American made alternative first. I just recently replaced a microwave, American made versions where 400% more. Will they last 4 times longer, maybe but I didn’t find out. I promise I buy more American made products than most but you have to take into consideration the value. Sometimes the value isn’t there . And sometimes you just need the superior product. I’m all for eliminating China as an importer by the way. Trump was on the right track.

I would say one decent benefit for an enclosed optic over an open emitter optic for concealed carry is that you don't get a bunch of lint and such in your glass and potentially on the emitter. that was a big issue I had with the 507c, it got dirty fast and I wasn't even putting it through especially terrible use, just wearing it and shooting it when I could on a flat range. I don't see myself ever going back to open emitter optics when I don't have to. Still waiting on a closed emitter micro optic that will fit the 507k footprint, if it's even possible.

They said there have been some issues with the screw that holds the unit on the adapter plate. I have a CZ P- 10 F and used an Aimpoint Acro adapter plate from Aimpoint. Received the replacement just before Christmas and the same thing happened today at the range, The MPS almost hit me in the face on the first shot. Ditto on trusting SageDynamics on his reviews. I follow his recommendations regarding optics and pistols.
    Awesome reviews!
My Holosun on my Glock G40 in 10mm has not had any problems. My Holosun on my P365 at times has to be shaken few times for it to wake up. Hence I'm going to install The Steiner MPS on the G40 since it us my backup pistol for threats while hunting. I don't want to wait for my optic to wake up. And by this review, the MPS looks to be very durable.
I'll move the Holosun to my VP9 Match, or my Sig M17 Commemorative, which are just part of my shooters.
As for drop tests...I have dropped my G43 so many times. No optic. But just to say...pistols do get dropped. Butter fingers, no. It has been normally dropped when the need to remove from carrying mode when going into an establishment that does not allow firearms.
I can say for sure, the Glock line can take a beating.
