  • In this video, we take you on a journey to discover the beautiful city of Dumaguete, located in the Philippines.
Our day begins with a stop at Adobo Go, where we indulge in some mouth-watering and delicious local cuisine. From there, we head to Quezon Park, a beautiful green space in the heart of the city.
Next up, we visit the St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral, a stunning piece of architecture that is steeped in history and tradition.
After our visit to the cathedral, we take a moment to relax and rejuvenate with a foot massage from one of the many skilled practitioners in the area.
Our next stop is Robinsons Mall, a bustling shopping center where we browse the many stores and indulge in some retail therapy. Finally, we end our day with a relaxing stroll along Rizal Boulevard, taking in the beautiful sunset and enjoying the lively atmosphere of this vibrant city.
Overall, our day in Dumaguete was full of adventure, culture, and delicious food. We hope you enjoy watching our journey and are inspired to plan your own trip to this wonderful destination. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more travel videos!

Adobo has different versions depending on the region. That particular adobo is the drier version. I prefer the saucy one which I grew up with. Most “Karenderia” (street side restaurants) in Cebu has adobo. Higher end restaurants has definitely some adobo like Cafe Laguna in Ayala, Majestic Restaurant in Ayala and SM City. Now I miss Cebu.

I had been planning a move to the PH prior to the "global Medical emergency". Needless to say, I was delayed by several years. After bouncing to 8 different countries (mostly SE Asia) while PH laws relaxed I have finally made it here. I had a much different strategy than most gringos. I opted to head north to cooler climates and avoid all the Expat BS. I’m in a small town now where I am THE ONLY GRINGO and have been treated like a king. And I got a nice country (providence) girl that is incredible. So If cooler temperatures (78 today/rest of PH 97+) head north, but bring a positive open mind and please MIND YOUR MANNERS, we are all guest here, bad manners affects us all.

In the Philippines we use ENGLISH in school that’s why people here can speak English well. Nowadays Filipinos even speak to their children in English at home usually the upper class citizens because they want their children to be well literate English speaking, but in Manila and other parts of Luzon region they use Tagalog, too. ADOBO is very common in every restaurant in the Philippines so you can find it anywhere, even here in California is available in Filipino restaurants.

So that layout of rectangular Park, big old Church on one side, old Municipal bldg across on the other side is the usual Spanish era layout. The around the park will also have the old Mayor’s house and usually large ancestral homes of the rich… smaller towns will still have most of these old structures still in place. So Central Park, Religious power on one side, Political power across on another side and ringed around by homes of important & rich folks…
