In N. It’s so great to see vegan travel vloggers for a change. Yes, Filipino cuisine is meat-laden but veganism is now mainstream and everything can be veganized these days. The last time I was in the Philippines was in 2017, and I tried the Corner Tree Cafe in Makati. A very good vegan restaurant that I highly recommend.
Note that aside from Nurses, Filipinos are also highly prized by employers to work in shipping industries such as cruise, engineering, exploration, oil transport and more. Enjoy your travels here in the city.

Hey Boys! So good to see you in Manila a place I had a lot of fun in the late 70s/early 80s. I'm afraid that through a friend I became friends with Imelda Marcos - back in those days,we didn't know what we know now. Though aware of rumours and never having met anyone who had rescipts,we just went on what we saw. So when I was there, unless we chose to do what you Boys were doing, life was our own chauffeured "air-conditioned" car, amazing parties, nightlife and luxury. Imelda was a amazing hostess & used to sing after dinner! Never got to see the shoes! One of the most memorable trips was to the First Manila International Film Festival in the just finished Manila Film Centre, which was the fist time we heard stories, like the terrible incident in 1981 when 169 men lost their lives in the rush to finish the work! I did empathise with you both over the heat, there never seemed to be a time when it wasn't either hot heat or humid heat, the people were awesome & I have wonderful Flipino friends around the work. The disorienting feeling I know as well, having spent a lot of time in Colombian,Cuba & Mexico,as well as African countries it was like an acid trip, seeing all the different styles of architecture - from Churches & Palaces to areas that were obviously very poor. I'm really looking forward to your next, because apart from helicopters/bougie boats to amazing beach/mountain homes I have never explored on my own. The beaches are incredible among some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Lastly, thank you so much fir talking about sweating,it's something we all do; obviously some more than others, but, its never addressed in movies/media as anything, but negative. I thought you both looked great, even if you were literally glowing with the heat. As always, your vid has cheered up a rainy grey day in London,so very best wishes to you& yours👏👏👏💙💙👌❤️💯💥👊👋⭐️'s💯
For new info: All the Marcoses' cases of alleged I'll gotten wealth are now all rejected due to lack of evidence, and all considered just hearsay. During Marcos Sr. era the Philippines was only second to Japan in terms of developments, and even was looked up to then by Singapore and most Asian nations.. until the Aquino's DILAWAN POLITICAL PARTY grabbed power, then Philippines dove down to it's lowest stature and people were mostly disregarded, and the country became poor and were in a sad state for more than three decades. But the people has finally awakened, and gave Marcos Jr. an overwhelming landslide victory of 31M as against the Aquino's standard bearer of only 14M. Now that another Marcos is the country's president, expect the Philippines to fly high again. And about Imelda's famous shoes? Those were actually gifts from the Makati shoe industry which promoted Philippine products and made Imelda endorser when she used them in her official travels abroad.. which the DILAWANS made it as part of their alleged corruption, which the world then believed.. to the Aquino's and DILAWANS satisfaction.
Loved this one, guys! ❤ Great mix of history and a look at everyday life. It’s actually really nice to get to see the non-touristy parts of a country ☺️ In regards to talking about the heat, did not mind at all. You’re being real. Thank you for that. That is what you get with travel sometimes!
Interesting video. Thanks. I am currently planning to visit Manila in around 6 or 7 months, so this video is of particular interest to me. However when I go I will have the advantage of staying full time with a very close and dear friend who is a native born Filipino living in Makati City. Your video verifies much of what he's told me and what I've learned elsewhere regarding the Philippines and Manila in particular. One of those things is DON'T DRIVE! Use Grab! My friend doesn't even attempt to drive there himself. Secondly, unemployment in Philippines is incredibly high and nearly 10% of Filipinos have in the past or currently work abroad - often in the US or Japan - because of this. Third, Filipinos are among the most friendly and cordial people to be found anywhere in the world. I can vouch for this from my experiences with my friend, his family and a few other Filipinos I've gotten to know. Fourth, It's HOT and HUMID; to be expected in a tropical climate and a city around 14º north of the equator. Fortunately we plan to stay at a very nice Hotel, Okada Manila, which appears to be a more magnificent than any hotel I've ever even been in. My friend raves about it. I'm looking forward to my trip and staying with my friend. Thanks again.

I advice you to go island hopping and kayaking 2. Siargao island (maasin secret river, daku island, and cloud 9) 3. Hinatuan Enchanted river in surigao 4. If you really want your diving experience to be worth all the efforts, go to TUBBATAHA REEF in palawan. 5. Ifugao rice terraces (i suggest getting tattoed by apo Wang-od) 😊 6. Boracay island (go island hopping and do water fun activities like parasailing, etc.)
Thank you for this video! I am an American born Filipina, so most of my trips to Philippines have been spent in malls and visiting family. It was nice to see Rizal Park and Intramuros.

Guess better to expect worst than getting disappointed right? Haha I will warn you also even as a Filipino. And good job for keeping yourself cool down every after walk, we have a serious case of heat stroke. Try Baguio City next time, it’s around 4 hrs north of Manila. It’s a city in mountains with lots of pine trees so cooler than Manila and it’s the summer capital of the Philippines bec people go there to cool down from summer heat. 🇵🇭
Hope you come back to see more exciting and exotic places in the Philippines. You missed our beautiful beaches and a lot more. Have a pleasant and safe travels!
What makes Manila soooo dense is that there are many people even from other metropolises (like Cebu, CDO, Davao) and far-flung areas that go there to work-and I'm one of them. Opportunities for them near their homes are scarce-even many of the entry-level jobs in the said metropolises ridiculously require years of work experience.
11:27 The Philippines is the largest supplier of seafarers in the world. Those are Filipino seamen processing their papers for jobs waiting for them abroad.
The place where you saw many people that looked like a job fair is where people looking for jobs in the maritime industry usually stay. I lived around that area before, and it's always packed on weekdays. I was so surprised to see you walk through the street I used to walk through every day. Glad you had a nice time in Manila.
I was born and raised in the Philippines, left when I was 12 for the US and didn’t come back for more than a decade. And once I got back, nothing surprised me more than crossing the street from one mall to another 😂😂😂.
@11:31 those folks you saw milling around on the sidewalk are most likely seafarers/crewmen waiting either for their next deployment or initial interview from a number of ship manning agencies nearby. Most of them are already veterans of the trade and/or just coming off a sabbatical. Some of them have worked on Danish or Norwegian ships. I have 5 cousins who used to work as crewmembers and they were able to support their families back home, buy a house without mortgage etc. In fact the Philippines is the largest supplier of seamen in the world. These folks like to congregate in that area to swap salary offers from different agencies, swap stories etc. while waiting to be called in. It's not that there are no jobs in our country it's just that due to our ability to speak English our workforce is a lot more mobile compared to our neighbors. It's very rare for a Filipino to land a job overseas without having local experience of at least 2-3 years so that means most of them had jobs in the first place before they left. They're no different than Germans moving to Switzerland for better pay even though there's more jobs in Germany.

So happy you were able to visit Good Food Sundays! Wish you can come back in November for VegFest Pilipinas (happening in Manila). That's going to be a lot of vegan food and drinks! We try to price the products as affordable as possible but we also want to pay our staff fair wages. Glad you were able to enjoy your short stay in Manila!
Good job discovering some of the best in Metro Manila, the Philippines capital region made up of many cities and towns. Manila itself is the capital. Makati is what upscale Manhattan is to NYC. There are other great experiences in the other cities and towns in the metropolitan area. Next time you visit, consider adding them to your itinerary. BTW, if you want to avoid too much heat, consider December, January, and February. Tropical heat starts in March and can start to cool down around November.

I hope you'll keep on visiting our country. One tip though, when traveling around our country, it's better if you wear cotton fabric clothes, because it's hot and humid. If you like to walk around the city, it's good to come here during months of December to early February when it's not that hot. Hehe! If you like to go somewhere where it's a bit colder, you can visit Tagaytay, Baguio or Sagada. Stay safe and healthy, guys.

Glad you finally made it to Manila!! If the heat is too much, I recommend you guys visit during the Winter season in Europe (December - Feb) the heat isn’t too overpowering :)
Personal opinion - I visited the Philippines to visit my husband's hometown and I also visited Manila. Manila was the highlight of my stay as I got to see a bit of modernity and beautiful architecture. Less touristy places are ... Let's say ... A bit intimidating if you're not accompanied by locals. There's a lot of people employed doing nothing as well. One employee at a mall had the job of pressing the elevator button for you - a service I never thought I needed. I wish the Filipinos find it them to restructure their economy without losing their country's charm ... It's a lovely place but there's a lot of inequality and shabby infrastructure which is disappointing. But I guess a cultural shift is needed and I'm not sure there is the willingness.
THANK YOU and SALAMAT for watching🥰 How special was that impromptu event at the market?!🥲🙏🏼

The last time I was in the Philippines was in 2017, and I tried the Corner Tree Cafe in Makati. A very good vegan restaurant that I highly recommend.
I loved the Corner Tree Cafe! I used to go there frequently when I was staying in Makati back in early 2011.
Welcome back to the beautiful Philippines 🇵🇭. Thank you for coming. Enjoy your stay.
Welcome dn sayo
Your video of Manila makes it look like it's a very beautiful place
Welcome to Philippines... Mabuhay! Enjoy your staycation & discover our beloved homeland, how beautiful it is... Cheers! 🧭🛫🏘️🌈👣🦅🌅🎯🎆👑🇵🇭♥️🇸🇪🇺🇲🇳🇴😘
Note that aside from Nurses, Filipinos are also highly prized by employers to work in shipping industries such as cruise, engineering, exploration, oil transport and more. Enjoy your travels here in the city.
I really enjoy the videos the two of you are producing! You are fun together and refreshing. Your art experience sounds wonderful, it is heartwarming to learn of the open kindness of people. The sights and sounds are wonderful.
Yea I agree.
agree
I love the energy. You definitely want to enjoy your travel and that's perfect. ♥️🇵🇭
Great stuff guys. Ive been twice to PH but can you believe only to Manila ! I really like it. I am going back next Feb to see the "islands."
do you need travel companion pal? 😅 local here👋😅
Thanks, you're very welcome!
Awww I feel you with the heat (also, I laughed so hard at the way you were struggling, sorry about that 😅). I was born in Manila and lived there for a total of 18 years, but have been living in Switzerland for longer than that now. Manila is not a place I would willingly visit unless it was to see family, so I was so surprised to see you two were there! So great that you had that beautiful cathartic experience in the art class! It's really true, Filipinos are one of the friendliest, warmest people on earth 💙💛❤
SUCH friendly and warm people🥲
I mean with those temperatures they can hardly be cold people. J/k looked awesome :D
I hope you will one day consider visiting Manila so willingly❤
Don't comeback we don't need you here.
To be fair, it was rlly more hot and humid than usual in the past months haha. AND it is also rlly extra hot in Intramuros bcus of the walls. The "Ber" months are really the best season to go to Manila if ever smth incites u to comeback.
We are coming to the Philippines next month for the first time! 😍 Our first stop will be Manilla, too! We were in Laos around the time you were in the Philippines, and we struggled so much with the heat too, ahah 🥵
You'll love the Philippines🙏🏼
Love the channel, you guys are awesome!!
Thank you for an excellent video! This was my first time watching you, and I thoroughly enjoyed your stopover in Manila 👏😁
Welcome back to the Philippines! Glad you like Manila and enjoy your next destinations!
OH MY GOSH, @OskaranDan !!! You are soooo AWESOMMMMME! We love how you guys are so genuine doing this videos. We can feel so much joy, excitement, satisfying and yeah the heat watching this review hahah!! 😁God bless you and keep safe! You are still missing so much beautiful places and culture here though in the Philippines. We hope you could enjoy more. Kudos and much love from us! New subscriber here! hihi! 💖😽💐☺✨
As a Filipino from Northwestern Europe the European influence in Southeast Asia is so trippy. Like it’s so distinctly Southeast Asia, YET SO DIFFERENT!
Welcome back! I was so looking forward to this! 😊
Aww-so sorry about the heat, guys! Please, lots of sunscreens, especially on your face☺️ Safe travels and until next time❗
One of the most memorable trips was to the First Manila International Film
Festival in the just finished Manila Film Centre, which was the fist time we heard stories, like the terrible incident in 1981 when 169 men lost their lives in the rush to finish the work!
It’s actually really nice to get to see the non-touristy parts of a country ☺️
In regards to talking about the heat, did not mind at all.
Welcome back... the best 4K videography filming...the best editing and setups... good luck guys on your journey in Philippines once again... God Bless you both, stay safe always 🙏😊❤️
Thank you🥲❤️
Is this like a gay couple channel? Alternative lifestyle Travel Channel?
Thank you Guys for Exploring Philippines. Next time enjoy the secret beauty of wonderful islands and beaches next time you want to visit here again. Take care and gudluck guys to your world trip.😊❤❤
try to bring mini fan and umbrella when you walk when the weather is too hot, this might be a little bit inconvenient to bring but this help, welcome to philippines
I recommend this places for your next vlogs:
1. El nido (nacpan beach) and Coron (twin lagoon, kayangan lake, barracuda lake, and puerto prinsesa underground river).
I advice you to go island hopping and kayaking
2. Siargao island (maasin secret river, daku island, and cloud 9)
3. Hinatuan Enchanted river in surigao
4. If you really want your diving experience to be worth all the efforts, go to TUBBATAHA REEF in palawan.
5. Ifugao rice terraces (i suggest getting tattoed by apo Wang-od) 😊
6. Boracay island (go island hopping and do water fun activities like parasailing, etc.)
Thank you for this video! I am an American born Filipina, so most of my trips to Philippines have been spent in malls and visiting family. It was nice to see Rizal Park and Intramuros.
Limited vegan options - true. Stifling heat - very true. Traffic - also very true. But warm and open people - undisputable. Welcome to the Philippines guys. Embrace and enjoy.
You're such a wonderful couple! ❤So glad you enjoyed your time here! Great to see more gay travelers visiting here! 🥰🫂
Enjoy your stay in the beatiful country of the Philippines. Explore more beautiful places. Nice vlog
Just subscribed. Thanks for visiting my beloved country Philippines.Enjoy your stay guys .From IN USA
Great, guys! Heat is perhaps the greatest enemy of the traveller. Thank you for your cool snapshots of Manila.
Hello, just subscribed. Thanks for visiting our beautiful country. Enjoy and be safe. Sending positive vibes. God bless.
Thank you guys for visiting our beautiful country❤
Dont believed on people saying manila is Bad, Manila has alot of things to offer. 😍
What? Have you been to Quiapo, Pier area, & Divisoria? There are a lot of pickpocketers, snatchers. Not to mention the air pollution
@@upoupo888 u act as if all the cities in the world is perfect except manila. That's literally a problem everywhere even in big cities like new york and paris
@@upoupo888 Rome is the worst i ve ever been when it comes to snatchers

Manila is definitely an acquired taste. You’ve made a good start. Keep coming back. I’ve been doing it for more than thirty years and ain’t done yet. Yes, heat can be a killer for the aspiring connoisseur. You didn’t mention the second killer: traffic. Get past these-and your heart is ready for love.
Not for me, I loved Manila from day 1
@@nasllis5431 Yeah, it isnt too hot depending on where you are, and at what time a year, I felt like I was a slave on a field everytime I was there though
So happy you were able to visit Good Food Sundays! Wish you can come back in November for VegFest Pilipinas (happening in Manila). That's going to be a lot of vegan food and drinks! Yes, there will be a lot of merchants that are not that cheap but that's the reality of small business pricing in Manila. We try to price the products as affordable as possible but we also want to pay our staff fair wages. Glad you were able to enjoy your short stay in Manila!
We loooved it😍🌱
Good job discovering some of the best in Metro Manila, the Philippines capital region made up of many cities and towns.
❤ gald to know you had a chance to explore Manila and surrounding areas 😅
Great little trip and really informative. Thanks, Oscar and Dan !
Mabuhay! Welcome to Manila! I've been following you at the other channel then I found this video. Nice to see you have visited manila. Howdy from Dallas Texas!
Love this! I hope you get to explore other islands soon. Enjoy guys! Be safe!
Thank you guys so much for this! In less then two weeks i'm going to manila for about six month to do a semester abroad. So far I haven't heard too many positive things so this was really refreshing
Thanks for the update guys. Enjoy!
Thank you for visiting the Philippines, looking forward on your next visit again.
Shoutout from Vancouver !🇵🇭 Just saw your vid and I'm missing the tropics now😅🌴
I hope you'll keep on visiting our country.
Welcome to the Philippines 🇵🇭 thanks for coming relax and enjoy take care where ever you go
We live half the year in PH and you guys are right, it’s insanely hot! I highly suggest renting a car to go around Manila & NCR because Air Conditioning is gold 😆
That's COOL! Thanks the two of you for the videos, tcare, stay safe 🥰👍🖐️
so glad you came to visit Manila! Thoroughly enjoyed the video!
I just found the two of you this morning and really enjoyed your video. Thanks for the info! Also your English is impeccable. I thought you were from the US at first you have little hint of an accent.
Great video! Thinking about going to Manila and this was definitely very insightful!
I'm so happy to see Good Food Sundays! I'm a vegan Filipino in Canada and I'm missing the vegan restaurants in Makati. I hope you can go to Wabi Sabi
I feel homesick watching you guys the last time I been home was 1997 so much has changed thanks for showing Manila enjoy your stay and have fun

Hats off for even braving that brutal midday heat! I am a local and I dont go out of my room until late afternoon.
It's hot in United States too! Have you guys been to Texas and Las Vegas? It's 117 degrees!
Welcome back. Hope you can stay longer. Edited: Next time. :)
Glad you finally made it to Manila!! If the heat is too much, I recommend you guys visit during the Winter season in Europe (December - Feb) the heat isn’t too overpowering :)
There is no winter, they might as well go to Tagaytay or Baguiao

I so love this duo! coolest vloggers so far
Hey! Welcome to the Philippines. Hope you enjoyed your stay 😊.
heeeeeey what a nice surprise! :)
I'm always glad when you make a new video with a new destination because you do it in a special way, I love yours.
