@@OliverHarper I saw that he had Matthias on his own channel at one point along with Cynthia. Both episodes were extremely entertaining. 👍🏻 And of course his wife, Erin is a massive Billy Blanks fan. LoL
I love that all these names were involved ....Billy Blanks, Cynthia Rothrock, even Michel Qissi ..I'm so happy for him after seeing how he was played by Hollywood. God knows how much I admire Paul Hertzog for the original Bloodsport soundtrack ...but to be really honest ...this doesn't capture any of the 80s Hollywood movie vibe from Bloodsport by any stretch. Even the score (from what I can hear so far) doesn't capture that old magic. Although the master Paul Hertzog himself was involved. Absolutely zero Bloodsport vibes.
It needed real industry personnel, not UA-camrs filming a vanity project. Literally everyone involved is a content creator on UA-cam and it shows, from the directing, acting, editing, etc. Sifu
Can't wait to see this! Had no idea you were a part of this. All of my updatea have been through Jason Brant (he has an excellent channel if anyone is wondering).
Very nice trailer! Maybe it gives away a little too much but awesome nevertheless. Thanks for putting me in the trailer (hat bloke at 2:02). It was cool watching some „fights“ being shot in Hamburg. Looking forward to watching the movie in a Cinema in Düsseldorf end of April. Cheers from Germany.
@@OliverHarper Haha, thanks! Watched the trailer on the big screen during Sean‘s „No Surrender, No Retreat“ Event in Düsseldorf. Definitely looked as if it belonged there. 👍
Music is on point and brought out lots of emotion. I trained at Frank Dux dojo as a kid and was obsessed with Bloodsport. All opinions of Dux aside it was magical time in the San Fernando valley and for all martial arts in Los Angeles Years later After UFC 1 Dux actually told us to go train BJJ to learn how not to play their game - started training with the Machado brothers and that kinda stuck… look forward to helping crowd fund whatever is next.
Cant wait to see it with all the legends! Im aware of it bc of Viking Samurai and am delighted he got to work with all these people ge has made videos on his channel about!
This looks INCREDIBLE! Amazing work man, seeing how far you've come throughout the years is such a delight, and I wish you the best of luck with this release!
Looks too digital and clean. Not sure why given the cameras used should be capable of depth of field equivalent to 35mm, and with some grading it should look like 35mm. It doesnt look anywhere close to 35mm, and the digital motion blur is evident.
I am so hyped for this! Already preordered, I hope this thing does gangbusters and we get a sequel. Thank you for your work, I have every confidence it is going to be awesome.
great job! I wish I pursued more to follow the road of some sort of editor... in HS "TV production 1 and 2" they told me and me alone I should go on to do it, I was an idiot and didn't see there could be a career in it lol so I always appreciate it!
Pre ordered my copy. Looking forward to it. Shame about van damme not apearing but im sure it will be great. Having paul on the soundtrack tho. Excellent 👍
Cool project! My wife and I watched Bloodsport for the first time recently. It's probably our favorite Van Damme film along with Timecop. The soundtrack and fights are awesome!
Didn’t find out about this until after the kickstarter had ended, so I couldn’t contribute. Preordered the 4K steelbook the first day it became available. Can’t wait! Also, there had better be some boobies, for total 80’s nostalgia.
I had back this last year unfortunately had to back out cause of moving flats so sorry bout that but ive finally preordered this off Amazon so can’t wait to see this.
EDIT: Oliver only edited the movie. Did not produce. It is not his own movie. This reminds me of Critical Drinkers own film. It's a shame that such great reviewers products showcase bad lighting, dull sets, handheld camera work, and over all uninspiring direction. I hope it does well enough for both of you to make another movie better than the first.
Gonna add my two cents, isn't that a part of the aesthetic? You watch an old VHS and the colors are dull and faded, I feel it was intentional but I could be wrong...
Critical Drinker is an established Author. So I expected his film to be somewhat well written, though his trailer did not showcase such. That being said, the constraints of screenwriting and prose are not the same. Making films is difficult. Having no experience with the practicalities of film-making doesn't help. I also don't expect he had a fairly large budget. In fairness, I didn't expect him to produce good product regardless. Critics are often poor creators. Just as the best teachers or coaches do not often make the best students or athletes. I sincerely wish both of them well and I hope they improve in the future. It takes alot of quantity to produce good quality. Even Louis Rossman's short had alot to be desired, but he was on a better track than both of these youtubers. There are other youtubers out there breaking into creative spaces I have little faith in.@@alienboy1322
I hope it's good, but the film definitely leaves a lot to be desired as far as aesthetics. The super bright lighting is absolutely atrocious. Every scene is in broad daylight?
Umm not it's not from Botox etc it's called aging I have the same problem and have never touched beauty treatments in my life heck I don't even use skin care or makeup

Any chance of a digital release?
100%
Is that intro of this video a hommage on the former movie studio Cannon?
@@nitrorn1496 Yes it will be available digitally.
Before Street Fighter II, there was Bloodsport. Before Mortal Kombat, there was Kumite.
Matthias Hughes. Man, that dude played the right hand man in so many “B” martial arts movies in the 90s. 😂😂😂
Trudat
Dark Angel movie! :D
I love the fact that Jason Brant had a hand in making this as well. I've been watching his channel now for 2 years.
I believe Jason shot some behind the scenes material and is an extra in the film.

Irony, he's going to have to review his own movie now on sbig 😂

Ah so the nostalgia machine has finally come for Bloodsport. Knew this day would come. I want a Jean-Claude Van Damme cameo
Be prepared to be disappointed. 🤣
Looks great...cant wait..big up to everyone involved
Hell ya!
Kurt Mckinney, Billie Blanks, Mathias Hues, Cinthya Rothrock, wow!! I love it 👌🏿🇲🇽
His comb over-forward never moving was an amazing feat of cinematography
Hertzog and Bush, and Oliver being involved are an instant sell for me!

Same. Love his sense of humor.
Ironically, it might end up as a movie on the show.
Not having Jean-Claude Van Damme in it is a sin.
You never know buddy
JCVD stated he was retiring at the time this was getting ready to be made. They respected his decision.
I'm sure they couldn't afford Van Damme.
Naw, a couple of bags of coke would do the trick@@theflyingninja1
@@vietcong411thank you. Nice to see that someone actually understands
I so love the 80s vibe. Its good to see movies like these still exist and are being made. Well done Oliver.
Cynthia Rothrock?!!! holy moly!!
Needed the 80s music all the way through :) Looks pretty good !
The trailer was nice, except for the font for the actors' names. 🤔
That font makes me think of 90s TV sitcoms, like Full House and Family Matters.
The font is identical to Bloodsport as a homage.
@@OliverHarper Thank you for the clarification.
I think it’d been super ultra dope if they had managed to get Jeff Speakman out of retirement for this film that’d been 🔥
Or resurrected Bruce Lee 🤣
That would have been awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like your editing work on the channel, Ollie. Maybe this project will open some doors for you.
I could have sworn this movie was filmed with a camera to make it feel like the 80s, or was that another movie you were advertising?
I really hope this is good, but it just has way to much of a "fan film" look to it and i've been burned to many times on those sadly :(
This looks terrible from the cinematography. Hard pass.
Well done, Oliver. Will give it a watch when it releases.
Awesome Oliver!!! I’ve been watching your channel for years. Really cool that you edited this film. Love from Southern California 😎🕺

Congratulations sir. I very much appreciate your work. Onwards and upwards.
Oh man oh man can’t wait! It looks so good and the music is spot on!
Looks painfully cheap but might give it a try.
It looks terrible. I knew it would it be though.
Not cheap enough to be in the $5 bin yet
Love your documentaries mate but it looks like it was shot with an IPhone. The lighting doesn’t help as it’s extremely flat.
You're aware I only edited the film.
Looks like a movie to me
And you couldn't put a colour grade through it during the edit!@@OliverHarper
Great content bro as always oliver
Looks great but can you get an Australian version?
Yes its dubbed in Australian mate. 🦘
The video needs more grain, to make it look more like film. The image looks too digital.
Definitely looks like a love letter to Bloodsport and the 80s! 🔥💯
What is the song at 2:10? I can't find it anywhere...
Not out yet.
Looks awesome😀 Wish you’d put some grain on it, though, to give the illusion of celluloid.
Agreed 100%
oh there is grain but UA-cam compression zapped it out, even when I uploaded a ProRes file! Very annoying.

So glad two of my favourite channels were directly involved in this venture and I'm so looking forward to watching this.
it needs telecine-ing to 35mm film. then it would really be rad. get someone to bump into the projector a few times during the intro credits hahaha
