hello johnny i admire you because you are a heck of good outboard mechanic ,i wish we have a mechanic like you here in saint augustine florida ,keep the prop of the mud,
Thank you. I appreciate that. I'm just a hobby mechanic and there is a lot in the outboard world that is not in my area of expertise. Points ignition single and twin cylinder carbureted 2-strokes are in my wheelhouse. Old Mercurys still hold some things I'm not real familiar with. I do OK working on what I habe come to know. There have to be some of us around your area. Thanks for watching!
Yes, they certainly did. About a perfect power to weight ratio, excellent reliability, durability, simplicity, and awesomeness 👌. Thanks for watching, David!
Thank you. I never liked the styling of the bread box cowl when I was younger. They grew on me and I really came to like them later on. Thanks for watching!
Nice outboard,I have the same one, runs fantastic!! I have a question,I have a 1959 evinrude Golden jubilee 5.5 going to sell,it's all original, runs good, are they worth more, since it's an anniversary edition?
Thank you. These are great runners. From what I have seen, unless the Gilden Jubilee motor is in exceptional cosmetic condition, they really don't seem to be much if any more valuable that other years. That may change at some point in the future now that Evinrude has ceased production, but I wouldn't count on it anytime soon. They're nice motors and I have a nice one also. They run beautifully, but nothing special in terms of value, at least not yet. Thanks for watching!
@@oldjohnnyrude8404 thanks for your professional input,it does run well, also have a 62 5.5 evinrude, another great runner, just wondering if I should mark it up seeing how it's a anniversary edition
@@jimm1975 To the right person, it could bring a little more being the 50th anniversary model. To me, it seems that Evinrude built SO many motors during the '59 model year as Anniversary models, they lowered production numbers in 1960 and '61 because of overages in '59 as it seems those years are rarer than the anniversary year.
@@oldjohnnyrude8404 that's what I was thinking,to the right person it might be more valuable,I'm going to put 300$ on it,don't think that's to much,it's all original, everything,I always enjoy watching your videos and variety of outboards 💯
It's possible, but I don't habe much time for motor work right now. Depending on what you have and what needs to be done, it's probably worth a bit more discussion. bbreitner at hotmail dot com Let me know what the motor is and what you are looking to have done. We can go from there. Thanks for watching!

OMC sure designed a winner with those 22ci powerheads. Sweet motors! Thanks for all the ride alongs!

Such a good looing outboard. A real classic, and bulletproof. 👍❤️from Australia 🇦🇺
