Thank you, Peter. It does sound pretty cool, I may have to build me one to keep lol God Bless. M~
Not a surprise it sounds awesome and looks good too 👍
Thanks Lonnie. 😎
Nice build Michael. And it sounds great. I built one using a milo tin lid. 👍🇦🇺
Thanks Guzzo. That's cool, they are fun to build. M~
Michael, I am very impressed with the sound of you paint can lid CBG, but a little disappointed that they were out of stock. I’ve been looking at them for awhile and keep coming back to your videos. I definitely love the banjo sound coming out of that guitar. Please let me know when you are going to make more.
Thanks S. Yeah, that one went fast. If you want me to make you one send me an email guitarandboots@yahoo.com.
It's hard for me to say whether I enjoyed the picking or the instrument more. Both great.
Thank you, John. M~
That paint can lid is amazing and suits that build completing the shell knob aesthetic, where did got find such a lovely lid. I've never done a lid build yet but always wanted to experiment with hand hammering the lid to make it much thinner and see how it changes the resonant tones similar to how the steel drums get made or maybe even a circular hammered ring around the outside of the lid hammered thin would allow the lid center to resonate more. Might not look as good although maybe a peened hammer look maybe 🤣but it was a sound experiment I always thought of doing one day.
Thank you Hobby, I think it came out great. The lid was from CBGitty. That's a good idea with the hammered metal look, I might have to try that some day as well. It might make it sound pretty good. M~
Mr. M, What pickup did you use.
Thanks GREAT BUILD!!!!
Hi Richard. That one, I used a 27mm Piezo under the bridge.
Beautiful guitar Michael and well played as usual. Love the sound of those they sound so banjoie. What gauge strings do you use on a 23" scale?
.044 low G, .034 low D, .024 middle G. Tune down to open D no problem.
Thank you, Bob. Yeah, they have a pretty cool sound. I'm using nickle would 040 030 022 strings. M~
How you play a Paint Can Lid Resonator ? Very good I’d say !! The 23” scale gives it a great jangled sound !! I might have to ask for for one of your guitars for Christmas. !
Thank you, Andy. That can lid does give it a pretty neat sound. I agree with you, You should ask Santy Claus for one lol M~
Me too.
Great build Michael...how is the lid printed? Will it wear off in time using a pick?
Thanks stephen, The graphics are printed directly onto the metal surface using durable UV-cured ink. Not sure about the wear and tear of using a pick across it.
@@SouthernFireGuitars Thanks Michael...never the less...it sounds and looks amazing...well done !!
@@stephenpascoe1148 Thank you, stephen.
The sound (tone)is perfect! It would keep strangers moving and the neighbors on edge. I need one! About how much would one cost?
Thanks John. That's true lol. Email me and I can give you all the info guitarandboots@yahoo.com
I'll try. I am legally blind I can see,but email is hard. I would post a phone number...

Forget the socks and underwear.I want a cigar box guitar for Christmas.
Thanks Tim. make sure you put it on your Christmas list for Santa. :) M~
Did you put that print on that lid or did you buy it that way? I was looking for a way to put my art on a lid. Thanks Michael.
Hey jack, I bought it that way.
What did you use for the white dots on the side of neck?
They are plastic side dot markers.
I love building these CBG resonators, I forgot to mention, there's a piezo pickup under the can lid. Very unique sound. What do you think?
I love em, built one recently after watching a few of your reso' vids, both dog bowl and paint can lid. I went with paint can lid, came up pretty good (considering it's My second ever build, turned out awesome.)
Thanks for the influence bloke 🇦🇺 👍👍
Cool
Man in my option
@@Grumpy_CBG Your welcome, my friend. Thanks Brad, I seen the pics you sent me, looks pretty nice, great job. Now you need to build a dog bowl rez. :) Thanks for the pics too. M~
@@tylerjones934 Thank you, Tyler
Very nice Michael. How did you mount the pezio? I made one where I captured the pickup between the paint can lid and a raised portion if the neck (under the bridge) and hot glued in place. It sounds okay but not as resonant as yours. Did you bond it to a freely vibrating section?
I'm guessing a piezo pickup under the bridge? Or elsewhere?
Yes, a piezo pickup under the can lid. Dohhh!! I forgot to mention that lol 😎
@@SouthernFireGuitars oh good, I went thru the video twice and thinking, "he'd mention it, right? Where is it!!!" 🤣
@@hurdygurdyguy1 I guess I didn't have enough coffee that day, so my brain was still asleep lol
What string gauge
HI John , nickle would 040 030 022
What? No slide demo?
Thanks Jack. Hey, I had a little slide tune in there 😎
Somebody must have tampered with my joe!
