- This CBG was build from a TABAK box (sanded and stained) and a choice piece of Walnut (not mahogany) was selected for the neck. The fretboard is also Walnut…Gold tuners, Gold humbucker, pick up selector switch, volume control knob and string catch shutter hinge. The position markers are burned in and there are nails for the topside. This instrument turned out really really nice 😊

Nice build. I love the dark rich look of walnut! It also has a very distinct smell when you work with it. Interesting finding with the"mistake" with the neck/heal junction. I may try that. Thanks! Love my new "6 strings r ..." t-shirt. I doubt many people will get it. 😅

Idea....... Bolt a spoon handle to the tail piece for a tremolo handle. I saw someone use that idea on a lap steel guitar as a "bender"... I made a lap steel and did it too. It worked great.

Built a Tabak 4 string and used a Strat pup and pushed the out side pole piece’s down flush and it really growls
Lot of love on that neck, on Del Puckett CBGs the neck is always as cool as the box itself, lotta pride in that work. Happy Tuesday

Ahhh... Mr. Pucket, as usual, an excellent build. Well done sir. As for your whammy bar lever... might I suggest a small spoon? A spoon of the appropriate size could be cut to a suitable length and attached (spot welded or soldered) to a small piece of flat stock with matching holes for the strings. String tension would hold the lever in place. By using string tension, the lever could be installed or removed as desired.
Thanks for the tip about the zero fret! I'd been having the same problem on my latest build, now I know how to fix it 😊

Great Job on that build. Looks and sounds great!!! Just a commit to future builders. Tuning is E3 B3 E4 don't do like I did and try to tune to the wrong Octave. Strings break.

Dale , the scale you showed has a very interesting sound but the notes are on the frets # 1-4-5-6 -7-10-12 like you said or 1-4-5-7-8-10-12 like you played ?

Make sure you take care working with walnut. You can have quite an allergic reaction and you can build up a sensitivity. Make sure you wear a dust mask when sanding for your own safety. I didn't and can no longer work walnut.
