I would have to say the Taurian Concordant is probably my favorite faction. Most aligned with my thoughts regarding liberty, self determination and individual sovereignty. These are not empty platatudes but hard truths, that every man has the right to determine his or her own destiny. That truth is under eternal assault from evil men who would dare to call themselves "king,"(or first prince) above their fellow man and must be violently opposed... Or as a wise man once said, several centuries ago (I think it was George Washington, or some shitposter named Tex ) ..."F@#k around, and find out..."
"We have trained since our founding day to stack bodies like cordwood, so if you insist on fucking around you will most assuredly find out..." - Rejected proposal for the official motto of the Taurian Concordat
The Cappies learned and decided a couple centuries later to make friends. The Fed Suns never seemed to learn that messing with the bull was a bad idea.
This and the Magistracy are my two favorite states. That being said, my fave faction is Clan Sea Fox because they wander the sea of stars. Very romantic
The Sea Foxes are more Yankee Traders than romantic. Their mottos are "If you want it, we've got it. If we can't get it, then you don't need it!" and "In God we trust, all other must pay cash!" 😁
For me it was their fiercely independent nature. They consistently refused to be subjugated and fought with unmatched tenacity to regain any lost independence. To use Tex's phrase, the "hippity-hoppity, get off my property" attitude convinced me to use a Taurian unit for my IS mechs, specifically the Taurian Guard.

Hey Grim Dark! Did you ever make a more exhaustive TC video? While my love for MW/BT goes back to '95 & MW2 I am just getting into actually playing BT & I am falling in love with these Taurian's! I would like to learn more as well as intricacies in playing them.
I think I've only done 1 video on them. The periphery nations don't have as much lore on them as the great houses, but someday I will return to the factions and make some more videos on each. I could probably find something on the Taurians for at least one more episode.
I would like to request an episode covering my favorite periphery state: The Circinus Federation. You know, that 100% legitimate agricultural collective that absolutely is not the most successful and largest pirate kingdom in the inner sphere.
I used to think that the Free Worlds League was Space America, and to be fair they are....Modern Day America. The Taurian Concordat is like Colonial America in Space, going up against the much bigger, more powerful, and well more established, British Empire AKA House Davion.
I like to imagine the Taurians being like any wild rural area of the US (Montana, Idaho, the Old South, the Ozarks, etc) ruled by an aristocracy that is reminiscent of the plantation owners of the Old South. They are definitely my favorite Periphery Power, but they would probably fill me with buckshot (Or LB-X cluster rounds) for being a Davion loyalist. Their hatred towards the Federated Suns reminds me of the bad blood that existed between Britain and the US from 1776 until the early 1900s.
It was always funny to me that the two powers in the universe that had the most in common, would loathe one another so fiercely. If I wasn't so focused on Kurita and my own issues with anti-Hanse factions in the FedSuns, I'd probably move out and join one of their groups colonizing new worlds and pushing further out into the Periphery (if they didn't fill me with buckshot). But they're so paranoid of Davion (when it's the Capellans that keep actually attacking them - and those mysterious guys with the ghost-white ships . . .)
Us tuarians hate com star too :-) see we can say it thanks to our liberty, the rest of you guys are too scared to actually call them out on their space magician arses :-) inner sphere for ever well the edge of anyhow :-)
