Bringing life back into a Mk2 Escort Bonnet

We have just had a Mk2 Ford Escort in for the bonnet painting. It had heavy corrosion and paint peel as the car was originally from South Africa before being imported to the UK. We spent a lot of time on this taking it back to bare metal and finding it to already have been painted before and was full of filler and not anywhere near a straight bonnet. So we glazed the whole bonnet before blocking and etch priming then 3 times high build primer with blocking after each application. Customer was happy with the bonnet at that and said he was happy for it to be painted. Im not 100% happy as it needed more priming and blocking really but when it comes back in for the rest of the car doing i will block the bonnet again and improve it and paint it again with the rest of the car.
