- Gearing up for Nightmare mode or gunning for 330 gear? Here's a discussion on the routes you can take at the launch of 7.0 in Legacy of the Sith for level 80!

• The highest item-rating in the game is “330 purple gear” plus “330 gold legendary implants”.
• Getting your Legendary implants is something both hardcore and casual players can do.
• The “330 purple gear” is the hard part to get. The only way to get 330 gear at its final tier is through upgrading gear you got dropped from Master Mode Operations or from Master Mode Operation gear boxes from the weeklies.
• The bosses in Master Mode operations drop a piece of gear “equal” to what you currently have (not better). The minimum they will drop is a piece 320 purple Rakata gear. If every piece you had one was say 328, the bosses would drop a 328 piece for you.
• In addition, if you manage to clear an entire Master Mode and all its bosses, and receive the upgrade box from the Weekly quest, you’ll get a guaranteed upgrade. If you don’t have any gear yet, you’d get a 320 purple piece.
• One very fast way players have discovered to get a full set of 326 purple gear is by playing Galactic Starfigher! Completing the weekly and moving up the PvP gearing path to 326 purple is by far the fastest way to get an intro set of 326 purple gear. You don’t even need to win matches, just complete them. (See PvP section.) That way, when you do open those Master Mode Operation boxes, you’ll be guaranteed an upgrade to 328 if you already have a full 326 set. Silly, but the box looks at numbers, not gear source.
• Another way to get a full set of 326 gear to build off of for item-rating is through the solo Conquest track. You’ll need to earn about 3,000 Aquatic Resource Matrixes to upgrade all your gear through that track, but it may be preferable to gearing up through GSF or PvP for you.
• The third option to is to get blue 326 gear through Master Mode Flashpoints or Veteran Mode operations.
• The idea is that if you want the best gear in the game, you will need to collect a full set of this purple Rakata gear and then work on upgrading it from 320 all the way up to 330 paying currency you get from operations and deconstructing leftover operation gear to Hazardous Matter Catalyst. Before you can start this process of upgrading though, you need pieces of purple Rakata gear to upgrade.
• The purple Rakata gear can come from Veteran Mode Operations (relics and earpiece only), Master Mode Operations (all pieces), and from the Master Mode Operation Weekly boxes for completing an entire operation and all its bosses.
• Ideally, you will also get upgraded gear from the weekly boxes but since Master modes are so hard to complete right now, you may want to instead focus on just getting a set of purple gear to pay currencies to upgrade.
• If you are looking to gain gear to prepare to run Master Mode operations, apart from the PvP route mentioned, which seems to be best as it gives you purple 326, you can play Master Mode Flashpoints to get up to 326 Blue Gear. Drops from Flashpoint bosses are equal to what you have on, with a minimum drop of 320 blue, you get a guaranteed upgrade from the Weekly boxes, and you can pay currency to upgrade your Flashpoint gear up to 326 blue without having to use the currencies .

• If you are on a team, what’s the bet way to gear up together if you are working towards Master Mode Operations / Nightmare Raiding? It will depend a lot on what activities your team wants to do and how much they play. Dedicated players have already gotten to 326 purple gear through GSF and can take that straight into Master Mode raiding. Players who have been grinding Flashpoints and already have a full set of 326 blue gear have no need to run Veteran Mode operations, as they can get the same gear there, and if they are chasing the Hazardous Matter Catalysts currency, it would likely be faster for them just to run story mode operations on farm. Teams that mostly log in to raid might want to jump into Veteran Mode operations, as they can work together to gain blue gear slowly but surely, if they are lucky get some of those purple drops, start saving up those hazardous matter catalysts, and run Master Mode Nefra when they can for a bonus purple drop to work on upgrading.

7.0 screwd up a perfect system they had in 6.0, we just needed the change in bonus gear, this gearing system is terrible.
System is better tbh. Getting min maxed is actually less of a grind and not having to throw mods between sets is amazing.
@@MrStarseaker i forgot about that, yes, the mods were terrible, but what i meant when i wrote that is how we could get max gear so easy, even for alts.
If I stick to dps characters and just want to drop in a Nefra group that seem to constantly be forming on the fleet, do you think I'll have a very hard time? I'm max 326 gsf purple and master fp gear.

Hehe I think that this happens in almost any system. I recall a while back people would grind the first lesson of Duolingo for achievement points to move up in their league system rather than actually learning anything (obviously thwarting the whole point of Duolingo) I think as a person you have to actively combat this mindset. Personally, this is why I like my casual, but relatively active guild. I'm probably never going to do NiM ops, but I enjoy the company doing SM or Vet ops.
agreed, i can handle a system that allows me to really feel like im making the character i made more my own in terms of playstyle, but end of the day it still comes down to the story and fantasy of what you play and do, not numbers. i wanted to get excited about those i would pick up mathmatics.
they wanted to get rid of red reaper and hammer station farm for gearing, all they did is replace it with nefra farm.

The joy of gearing has literally been sucked out of the game ... at this point getting to level 80 and just letting it go at that seems better then this gearing system.
I feel exactly the same. This gearing system is something special and I gave it many chances now but I think it just isn't made for me
Could you go into more details on why you hate this gearing system? I personally enjoyed grinding out some dailies and heroics to get to 326, and I'm pretty excited about trying the operations for the first time to get to 330.

If you aren't doing ops though, you don't need the gear. It doesn't benefit you.

It's easy my man. It just sounds complicated because you have 100 differ ways to get gear. Pick the one you enjoy and you're golden.
The only way it can be easier is if you could buy the gear. Which at that point it's not a game anymore. It's a shop simulator.
To clear a few things up in this video for any wanting to acquire a full set of Rakata gear.
1) you really don’t have to raid MM Ops at all and by now everyone knows about Nefra. However what some might not know is your able to force the drop you are looking for equipping a 306 item in the desired slot. Now yes this will only force drop a Rakata at 320ilev which means you’ll have to upgrade it from 320-330 but, its actually not that difficult and, removes all the RNG from the gearing.
2) once you have that 320 Rakata item upgrading it is very simple. Just run EV/KP HM and equip a 306 accessory. This will force drop a Rakata accessory on every boss! Including the weekly box like last week With EV being in the weekly quest rotation. At 15 materials per item that’s 150 hazmats per toon per EV+KP. Run multiple toons and you’ll upgrade 1 Rakata item from 320-330 very quickly. Combine these runs with 3 rounds of WB farming for aquatics and you’ll never have to do a heroic ever again.
Right now the top 1% of the player base is actually running MMOPs yet on the fleet there’s way more ppl sitting in 326-330 Rakata. So yes you can have the best if you’re willing to farm a bit to upgrade each piece which will make any task you do feel better.
Btw I've been playing the expansion for several weeks, I'm dropping the game the grind is too much.
I was hoping this guide would explain how to get to Accuracy 110 without breaking the bank with augments. Its very strange to me that a single set of DPS gear leaves you woefully short of the magic 110%. The solution is simple, you need to mix DPS pieces from different combat styles. It's a solution from my experience that many players are unaware of.
Also a tip, the PVP vendor sells off-hands with accuracy, which I find funny since the PVE off-hands don't come with accuracy.

u dont need augs to get 110 acc,, u just need 5 accuracy pieces..(supreme decurion or columi 326) get the pummelers hands and leg gear, also acc earpiece and implants,,in case u get the legendary implants restock ur acc stats with the force lord's head and chest gear,
You don’t have to break the bank. There’s plenty of guilds that craft the blue/purple augments and if your guild isn’t one of them or have a crafter you can help providing some of the materials I would recommend the blue ones as they are far less expensive to make and having an augment is better than none.
That being said most of the raid teams I’m are just barely able to make that 110% number with 326-330 gear. Most get around 108/109% and the highest stim will provide just enough to hit 110%.
I´d not be surprised if BW would change the system kinda soonish... I´ll not bother with high-end gear for now, don´t really need it anyway...

The video would be too short. Go to gtn and buy the kits and augments. Video over. Or if you're broke like me, level armstech for accuracy augments and the kits and make em yourself.
With Armstech full upped you can make augments 273 and reach the 110%

It still makes ZERO sense that the gear that drops is the same as the gear you are wearing to do the content and not better. LOL
Casual player here. Currently ilvl 326 purps/blues. I'm mostly a solo player so what I did was get conquest gear and upgrade it to 326 by doing heroics/dailies and world bosses. Then started doing master mode Flashpoints and Galactic Starfighter. GSF is way faster to find groups for so I might drop doing FPs all together for gearing purposes and just do GSF. I have 3 lvl 80s so doing the GSF weekly 3 times per toon gives me 9 chances of upgrades.
I have no way of getting 110 accuracy yet since I can't afford the pieces required so I'm leveling armstech to eventually make them myself.
I'm enjoying the "grind" because there's many different ways to get to the top and I change it up to not burn myself out.

How I can get Carrick Station Penthouse stronghold? I know I can buy it by galactic seasson tokens in one vendor next to galactic seassons rewards. I checked stronghold directory and there is an option "Subscribe?". There is other way to get Carrick Station Penthouse except Galactic Seassons tokens?

Hi, I want to ask, I already have Full 326 purple from PVP (Thrysian) from my Mara DPS Spec, then I choose Juggernaut as Secondary Skill and set Tank Immortal as spec, then If I play GSF weekly, and get the box Thrysian rewards, will it get straight 326 purple gear the Bulwark For Tank Spec, or the box give me back to 316 Bulwark green the initial start of Thyrsian gear

I moved to a EU server, some odd reason I have always been able to make friends with EU people more often than Americans. I don’t know why that is but ever since SWG back in 2002 when I first started with mmorpg, most my friends were mainly EU girls lol. Had a few Korean friends too. I have 8 level 80 republic and 8 level empire , can i just use 3 set of gear on both , 1 dps ,1 healer , 1 tank? for the legendary impants i think i will need 4 legendary to be able to cover all the characters? Does it seem right ?

pretty much! just implants and weapons if you aren't going crazy overboard with gear.

Oof. I remember when this game came out
I followed your advice pre 7.0 dropping and had 10k tech frags. Converted all my gear to green 320 as per your advice. But I'm now back to 9k tech frags. My main is level 80, my alt is a 70. So any ideas on what I do with the tech frags now? I'll max out before I can level to 80 on the alt. Cheers.
Buy the legendary implants with your tec frags
They cost 6k tec frags and a few other resources a piece for your spec
Also look up what tactical works best with implants and spec you play they cost 3k TF
You have fully upgraded implants? I have seen most folks that don't need the frags (yet) put them into RPM/OEM as they get close to cap. Seems like a reasonable way to handle it.

We need Medal of Commendation + large amount of Aquatic Resource Matrix to upgrade lowbie greens. Problem is I could never have enough ARM, therefore I am stuck at MoC are capped, do not have enough ARM to spend MoC, and NO UPGRADE whatsoever.
I stopped doing weekly conquest just to see 200 MoC go poof anyway.
Right ARMs are currently my "stuck" point.
Honestly, just accept you are permanently capped on MOCs and start doing dailies and heroics. I do think they need to tweak the rewards a little bit and/or change the MOC limit / drop rate. Things are out of sync.
I absolutely love this new gearing system. The old system was terrible. You could have full set/gear in a day and after that there was literally nothing to look forward to. tysm for the awesome guide.
