Suuuuper helpful man! I've looked at a few guides on this now but they're either out of date or confusing/ not detailed enough. You're is perfect though and I'm looking forward to being maxed in a few days.
I didn't know about the stronghold bonus for conquest. I only had 25% until I reactivated all my dormant, fully-unlocked SH's and instantly jumped to 150%. Great tip, thanks!

I will never understand why this whole thing has to change all the time or be so complcated. This is not a growing game and it seems like they could put more effort on content and fixes vs making gearing more and more complicated for the sake of it. FOR ME, it makes me want to quit instead of making gearing the whole reason I play the game. IMHO. (BTW, subscriber and player since beta, a zillion years ago..) :-(
Well, seeing how the last time instead of cooking up something new they simply upscaled the max gear rating, it seems like now BW are at least sticking with the current system.
Same I'm level 80 bit just completed knights of the eternal throne and I just want to play the main story not spend hours learning how to gear and then spend more hours getting the gear
@@matthewtedeschi5646you don't need to gear up for the main story. The gear you get dropped/from mission rewards is good enough to get you through those. High lvl gear and the grind leading up to it are only partial to endgame players.
Imo the new system was made to get people playing end game content. If you can craft everything then you aren't grinding flashpoint and less people are on it making it a dead matchmaking. They want people grinding the gameplay not the resource nodes.
You get high stats if you upgrade to artifact gear. It doesn't do much for tanks, but it is noticeable on healers and DPS. Also, better to make a new comment next time instead of replying to your own comment, hard to see it this way.
exxxxxactly what video i needed. I've played on and off from 2011 but never got into end game content/ gearing. im 2 months into playing again and after 7.0. Everything is fun and i want to know what im doing, especially with my max level characters. thanks so much for this video my man. luscious hair lmao!!!!. rock on my dude! 🤘🤘🤘
Man - this is the most helpful video on new 7.2 gearing. I was grinding like mad but now I will grind smartly. Thanks a lot for all your research and help.
I enjoy MMOs, but I can't imagine this level of complication and investment. Playing an MMO like a full time job, and keeping Excel Spreadsheets and shit.
nice guide. for leveling crafting still might be a good way to gear since you level up crafting while gearing up. also i have some shells with set bonuses saved from the long past pvp play which i can mod and augments slot are also there. alas all that gear became bound, so some sets stuck on my main. but since i didnt sell everything i still have some of set gear for 3-4 toons i played the most
The last time I geared up was 2 years ago, when the max level was still 75, and I seem to remember the gearing process being much simpler, or at least more understandable.
When 7.3 drops they are going to make it a little easier, but that is probably still 2 months away. They will just be having 1 type of currency for each gear path except legendary implants.
Just what I was looking for! Amazing video! Unfortunately, the game never teaches these kinds of things. Instead teache swhat every other game has as tooltips... :/
Thanks for showing. The certified game companions will need to go back to modify gear since the 50 influence only needed for crafting with default status. Modified gear will bring up companions status up higher. There is enough companions to make yourself group out of companions for go in master and Op missions. Don't exist but game update we called it Companion privileges game update. Game keep more interesting.
7.0 gearing drove me from the game. 6.0 gearing was easy and alt friendly. I understand why it upset some people. A Story mode player running around in Nightmare gear, but that didn't bother me. Gear doesn't make the player but it was fun to max out alts. However, i heard it wasnt nearly as bad as it seemed to be. It seems the game is having its annual resurgence amd thats good.
It's still a hassle to fully upgrade every piece of gear, but the system is fairly easy now when following the most efficient routes. 7.3 is going to launch within a month or two and will remove excess currencies so most gear only takes 1 currency to upgrade.
trick to get the master flashpoint or ops gear at item lvl 340 is to max out the pve gear to 340 then run master flashpoints or ops. the loot scales to the same item lvl as what you have in those slots. sadly does not work with the legendary implants so you still have to grind for the tech frags there. how to max out the pve gear is simple. Run your Heroic 2+ dailys at lvl 80 I'm pulling in around 400+ conquest commendations within 2 hours per day.
The fastest why I've found is grind one piece of flashpoint gear up to 336, then get the vendor mission and deconstruct it, then you can give every character 336 gear straight away.
If you have access to operations, it is much faster and easier to grind up by joining story mode runs like DF/DP but I get a lot of people don't do that.
Thanks for the great video. I'm newer to SWTOR and just recently hit 80. I was completely confused as to how gearing worked. This video helped a lot. I do have a couple of questions as far as gearing goes. While I'm working on the 330 deconstruct quest from the little alien guy, should I work on getting my tactical from Morro the Reaper first or should I focus on getting the implants from SN-4RK? As far as the 330 deconstruct quest goes, should I skip the 330 quest and just work on doing the 336 quest instead? I just subbed.....good content. Thanks!
Usually tactical first as you only need one and you're done most of the time. Personally choice if you want to skip ahead to 336 quest but I like the power boost by setting up 330 first to keep farming with
Damn dude nice video. Wild, I am legacy'd 3 naturals to 75 my juggernaut to 79 xD almost there. This is super helpful and as a player who just enjoyed the story and playing with friends this is saving my bacon. Thank you!
Gearing is better than having 3 sets per spec of an advanced class, plus 3 more gear set per general class (Juggernaut (Immortal-Vengance-Rage) - Sith Warrior, etc.) like we used to have. I'm still hella confused by this, but I've just made the 336 modifications quest on my Jugg, both Prototype and Artifact, and I just brought a ton of 336 Armoring, Hilts, Mods and whatever else there was. Had to mail them to an alt to counter the timer, coz I couldn't shove them straight into the Legacy Bank (oversight perhaps ?), but now I'm basically set for all my alts - just plop in a old moddable set, like the White Scalene from the Gree Event, and fill it up with 336 Blues and Purples. EZ life ! But lemme tell ya - gearing up 30 characters that way is EXPENSIVE !!! Specially if you're like me and play multiple specs and roles, and you'd like to be "optimized" somewhat. Like 110% Accuracy for PvE, gets replaced with 105% Accuracy for PvP, some specs need less Alacrity then others (Arsenal vs IO) and so on.
You can actually have gear pulled out of the legacy bay using loadouts as long as you have it open. So if you put a set of "base" gear on each toon, you can have it automatically swap the "base" gear with the gear in the legacy bay and then when you want to remove it, just open the legacy bay and select the loadout with the "base" gear. your shared gear will go right back into your legacy bay.
This is a great video and has helped me quite a bit. When I first came back to the game, I viewed this and other videos of yours a few times to make sure I understood my options. I know this video a little old but I hopefully you're still checking comments on this vid :) I was comparing Rakata 340 weapons on Jedipedia to 336 modded gear that I currently have. But Jedipedia does not list the energy damage for those weapons only the stats like master, endurance, power, etc. My 336 saberstaff hits 2369-3553 energy damage as listed in the tool tip. I cant seem to find this anywhere so I was hoping you may either know or point me in the right direction. I'm wondering if those weapons will hit harder aside from the small stat differences and if you know where I may find the full stats for the 340 gear. Despite looking for a while now, I cant seem to find it. Thank you for the great videos on your channel.
That's not a stat. The stats on the gear all go into formulas to create the damage number shown in the tooltips. There is an extra stat on weapons such as "force power" or "tech power" that provides bonus damage to specific attacks/classes and it is higher on the 340 gear than the 336 gear.
@@Draemn thanks for clarifying. The reason I was asking is through dailies and fps, I’ve accumulated a decent amount of ops currency and was trying to choose the one thing I would start investing in as I don’t plan to run ops I came back for the story and then PvP kinda started sinking it’s teeth into me and brought back that addiction :)
This shit is so convoluted lol. What was BioWare thinking implementing a system like this? I like that they’re multiple paths of gearing, but the different caps are a pain.
great info and so very helpful. I notice you using a graphic for your gear system. I see no link to it in your discription. Is it possible for us to access that infograph?
modded gear was bread and butter when game was released, i dont know why i would drop it down now. maybe just for some time while fixing things up. also we have those 2 smugglers on the fleet to make it work, while this way isnt obvious for sure
I'm so glad you made that comment at the end "unnecessarily stupid" because through the entire video I could not help but to think the same thing. Upgrade system seems overly complex, not in a technical way either in a tedious way that some idiot made up, they were probably going for different but different has to at least make sense, this system is plainly put.... stupid.
Thank for your Videos! Is there a set of Gear that we could wear for PVE & PVP or do we need two separate sets & Keep a Set in our Inventory when switching from PVP to PVE?
You can wear the same gear for both. You will just get your stats scaled down to the "cap" for PvP. But, most dps use less accuracy for PvP, so if you are serious about PvP you should have extra gear to get the right stats.
@@Draemn I was doing a master fp and a guy explained to me what I had to do really simply, based on the gear I had. keep up sharing info because the game has lots of systems layered, that nothing is really straightforward. it can be really frustrating for new or returning players. Thank you for your time.
Nice video. I went directly to 336. Grinded vet fp's and Master mode Red Reaper with a friend doing stealth runs. Then I did one Master mode EV just to get a purple piece, farmed vet OP to get currencies. Upgraded the blue piece all the way up to 336 (it's very expensive). Upgraded the purple piece all the way up to 336 (it's not that expensive).
@@dexteros5770 A purple piece lower than 336. For instance if your gear rating is 330 then you will loot a 330 piece. So by lower I mean lower than 336. He would have then gone to the vendor and upgraded the purple 330 piece to a 332 piece, and so on. He needed to farm the Op currency to do that.
Can you explain accessory upgrades a bit more? So I don't want to use FP relics/ear, I want to use conquest ones and upgrade these to 328, then use a crate to get a blue version?
It's cheaper to upgrade the conquest ones first and as long as the accessories (implants do not count) are the lowest item rating, those are the only upgrades the crate will give you. There seems to be a bug though where this only works if they are item rating 328 or lower. I don't think they've fixed it yet.
This was an amazing guide. I am a lightning sorcerer currently rated 336 (blue supreme decurion gear mostly with 2 legendary implants and stormwatch tactical). One of my items is green (relic of serendipitous assault) and is also 336. I can't seem to get the blue one to drop either from master mode flashpoints or veteran flashpoints. Do I keep grinding? Also, are gold augs worth grinding for if I'm not planning on playing NiM Gods / NiM Dxun / R-4 HM?
Gold augs aren't worth it. They're just fun to get if you have nothing better to do with your time? If you get enough currency, you can just buy a blue off the vendor and upgrade it to 336. It's not a huge difference, so don't stress over 1 green relic.
Why do you not just upgrade your piece to 336 instead of deconstructing immediatly at 330? Now you need to get another 330 piece to continue your grind to 336?
Personal choice. You can skip right to 336 if you want. I don't suggest deconstructing your ONLY blue 330 piece, make sure you have a spare one or can easily get a copy once you have 330 armour and weapons. It just opens up a lot more content like master mode flashpoints and veteran mode operations if you do a level up a 330 ir + augment gear. I find that pace more enjoyable than grinding straight to 336 in weak gear.
Yes, as long as you have a 336 prototype or better piece of gear you can deconstruct that for the 336 prototype quest. The 336 artifact quest only gives enhancements, so make sure you do that quest 2nd.
Thanks for this. I am really struggling to get tech frags for the implants. ATM they're at 326 each, but it has taken hours doing red reaper. What's your recommendation for getting tech frags please?
If you can do operations, nothing beats operations! solo flashpoints do not help you get tech frags. Here's a video where I spend part of it describing some of the good places to get tech frags. ua-cam.com/video/l2PCNZkZNPY/v-deo.html
Why is this complicated mess needed. Some people will be put off this game because of a seemingly intentionally engineered extra Complicated goals through out the game. Furthermore, this forced complication is simply make work goals to reach. Make more worlds if players are losing interest in the game. PS I am a returning player that began this game years and years ago.
They want you kept busy and playing the game - unfortunately they didn't have brighter ideas 😂 You also see it in a lot of missions or dungeons... Start from point A and go to point B - of course across the whole map or dungeon - just to finish back at point A and being sent to point B again Poor and brainless design in my opinion
there was No Need for this they spent changing the gearing system from the 306 gear and should have done what we asked which was more stoey content more PVP maps and more end game content. but no they give us more chapter BS and 1 Op and 1 PVP map it made the grind harder and made a lot of people that sub drop their subs why have subs when all you want is people to buy cartel coins.
im stuck at 326 item level and everybody tells me to do Veteran flashpoints and master flashpoints but they only drop the same item level gear i already have.....
I opened a thyrsian crate while i had most armor and weapons 330 and gave me duplicate 332 cuffs...is it a bug?...it worked 3 times fine but in 4th gave me duplicate item
I don't know, but I've been having issues with the crates as well. Still, if you have multiple items equipped at the same item rating it can give you any one of those.
Thanks for the video! I've been running Vet FPs for a full week now bit haven't had any luck in getting a 330 piece, I'm full 324 gear, am I doing something wrong?
you have to upgrade your gear, boss drops are always the item rating you have equipped. You might benefit from checking out how to upgrade gear in my other gearing guide from the launch of 7.0
Wow, this is turning the Game into a Grind-Working place sadly...since my bestie is disabled and I can get too easily into "Dopamine Hunting Mode" and then harm myself by not getting enough sleep, I will probably just go at a slower pace by farming Conquest Points, buying the OP-1 caches with them and then upgrade the OP-1 Gear step by step...will probably take a *lot* longer (maybe someone could give an estimate how long because I'm not gonna time-track this casual Upgrading Process like at a working place, thanks very much! 😉), but since to me "the Act of Playing" is more joyful/fun than the "cherry on the cake" of Upgrading a piece of Gear, I think I'll enjoy this "Slow-Pace Upgrading" a lot more with all my characters over time...as will my bestie with his cognitive limitations, that might get him killed in OPs and expelled anyway... Also, I guess this slower approach is also a way for others who mostly play solo but enjoy it and don't wanna put up with random groups, that are mostly "progress-oriented" (as a nice term for hectic and distressing speed-runners, who inadvertently demotivate slower or newer players with this behavior, just to mention this fact on a side-note - and people learn better when not being pushed mostly...anything else is toxic BS, just f.y.i. )... So, I guess he's gonna be a little slower than me, since I occasionally put up with PvP still and sadly this is a whole separate branch now as it seems in terms of gear...so, I might just do it for the Reward Track and Crafting Items it gives and upgrade that part of the "Gear-Tree" on the slowest-possible pace then. But, I think it is so important to remind everyone again, that this is supposed to be a "joyful leisure activity" and not another working environment, where you're coerced to get the best-possible "performance" out in the least amount of time! Usually people who get their "Dopamine Addiction" fired up that way and are usually highly ambitious Personalities, also are the most anti-social players in the Game taking fun for less so inclined players away and actively destroying it for others, just to state a fact I have witnessed multiple times in Random Groups... Not everyone wants to or even *can* be (from disabilities, age-related cognitive limitations etc.) as "highly efficient" as some of the most ambitious players among you can or want to be! And if your ambition destroys the fun for others, you need to take it down a notch if you are honestly interested in playing Group-Content at all! Because a big part of the Fun in Group-Content can actually be to help other players *at their own pace* (‼) and through that connect with them and feel the joy of having accomplished something *together* again and again...this can be rewarding on a non-(virtual-)material level and I think cultivating the Social Aspect of an Character of everyone involved...this is the "Secret Level of Gratification", that Social Playing *can* give/reward all of us with, that is not incorporated specifically into the Gameplay Mechanics...so it's on a "Meta-Level" to put it in a more precise term. I hope this helps de-stressing some of you who saw this and thought: "Oh my Galaxy, I'm never gonna get there!" or "This is too much - bye!" Because you do *not have to* play it this highly "efficient" way, if you are not willing or capable for whatever human reason! It does *not* make you a worse player like some over-ambitious idiots in-game might misjudge you without knowing your background and reasons for it ❣ Everyone should and is able to get there - even with slower pacing and more help sometimes. Most importantly: enJOY the Game's beautiful content (visually and story-wise) and don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you do *not* want to do! Coercion is taking away the fun - call it out and leave if a group is not booting the a-hole(s)...better for your mental health, I can promise you that ❣ Toodles...
I'm new to the game and bought a cad bane looking outfit on the cartel market with no stats. Every few levels I buy new mods for this outfit and update it. Am I shooting myself in the foot here? Or is this the right path? I'm only doing story mode, no pvp or group stuff.
First of all i was blind and now i can see.Now i only got one question since i mostly do FPs i wanna ask how am i supposed to get a 330 from FP's when i dont already have one equiped in order to deconstruct it for the 2 bozo's quest, unless umeant weekly box upgrade
you can skip the 330 quest entirely if you want to just wait for 336 quest, but if you get the weekly upgrade crate you can use that to get a 330. Once you unlock the 330 quest, you get all gear except accessories up to 330. Then upgrade the conquest relics to 330 and have a 328 ear piece (can be the conquest gear as well) and open up the crate, will give you a 330 ear since that's the lowest item rating.
I just came back and I’m a level 71 Bounty Hunter and just got the Mandalorian Nomad armor. Can you not get mods and enhancements for your gear off of the GTN to get ya by until you hit level 80? Thanks in advance 🤙
This guide is specifically for once you hit level 80. In my "vendors of swtor" video I cover different places to buy gear off vendors at lower levles. You can also check what is available on the GTN.
Man what are your chest and specially gloves? I hace onderon chest as well but yours seems a bit different. But I'm more interested in gloves. Very hard to find a gold matching one (or is it the bracers?)
I've got a white dye module in the chest, gives it a very different look. There is good chance the gloves are the onderonian gear you can buy from the spoils of war vendor. You might just need to change what toon buys them to get the different model. I think mine are the "force-lord" variant.
So I think I missed my main question or you simply didn't mention it. Does an augment disappear when you upgrade a piece? I already threw in an augment into an implant and I'm curious if I just wasted the augment kit.
Yes, you lose the augment kit and if you don't take out the augment, you'll lose that too. 22:00 I go over putting augments in. It could have been more clear, but it was intended to point out to players to augment the moddable gear not including the accessories.
Do you have to be max lvl to start pvp? I'm mainly interested in just pvp but am only lvl 35. I don't wanna use a token yet since I'm.still deciding which class race to.main
You can pvp at any level, but it is a pretty big level range as I think PvP is broken into 3 different level ranges right now. With the top level range only being level 80, so effectively the rest of the levels are broken into two groups. I'd save that token as well, it's not worth using real early on.
Skip right to the 336 quest if you want. I just like doing the 330 quest first because then I can augment the moddable gear and and get a big power boost sooner, even though the overall result takes a little longer.
I came here to try and understand. I left much more confused than when I started. You can play this game hundreds of hours and so not have it explain to you all the various tokens and chips and how/where to get them... Help
There is definitely a lot of information as I chose to showcase all of the different gearing paths instead of making a separate video for each path depending on a player's preference of how they want to play the game. Hopefully you were able to go back and watch again the sections that are relevant to you and get a good idea how to skip most of the grind (there is still some grinding invovled).
i will save for later to see if it is even worth trying in game or move to something worth spending money on this game was Soo good but the grind after grind kills it
I have a question about doing the mod quests for my second character. I got a 336 prototype earpiece drop with my main and transferred it to my alt using the legacy storage, I then deconstructed it but it didn't count for the quest. I double checked and tried again to see that I didn't have the wrong quest active, but it still didn't work. Even stranger, using 332 artifact gear from PvP did actually count for the quest... Can you help me understand that?
@@indoorgriller Spoils of War vendor for tech frags is the way I know of. I know they added a ton of cosmetic gear to vendors for credits, so there might be another way.
@@Draemn ah youre right..i completely forgot about it and had this set like 100 times..but we just farmed mods in 6.0 haha..so i deconstructed it...but its force-lord right?..so buying it with a sorc should do the trick=)
it depends. If you have artifact authorization and you are a preferred player with Legacy of the Sith expansion, the only advantage you get from being subscribed is more ways to make tech fragments and OP-1 catalyst. You only follow this guide if you're at level 80 but if you're not subscribed, you probably skip the artifact gear entirely.
Yeah, hey, thanks. So confused. That's a lot. I'm a returning, solo, player who just wants to do stories (& Space Combat). What is the minimum gear rating I need for this? Can I make it on 300? Do I have to stress at levels 70 through 80?
As you level up past 75, you'll find yourself get continuously weaker on item rating 300 gear. If you are starting to struggle and find it hard you can check out my other video on how to beat any content. Otherwise you'll be fine to just stick to your gear.
If you were not level 80 at the start of the week, you might have made your personal conquest (100k) before the reward changed to include 200cc. I think it changes at level 76. If you earned any cc this week, it would show up under your "weekly limit" even if you spent them.

You are an asset to the community mate, i just wish more people watched your videos.
Question while i have you.
What reason would someone want to go from capped prototype to capped artefact? Is it just "better"?
You get high stats if you upgrade to artifact gear. It doesn't do much for tanks, but it is noticeable on healers and DPS. Also, better to make a new comment next time instead of replying to your own comment, hard to see it this way.
Love the thoughtful thorough explanations
Didn't know about the achievement/discount on legendaries after leveling them, thanks for that D.
Amazing guide!
I’ve just returned to SWTOR after a 10 year hiatus.
This has been very helpful!
5 minutes in and I regretted the fact I didn't have a pen and paper. But great video. Can't wait to play once its downloaded
so have you started playing? How is the game going?
exxxxxactly what video i needed. I've played on and off from 2011 but never got into end game content/ gearing. im 2 months into playing again and after 7.0. Everything is fun and i want to know what im doing, especially with my max level characters. thanks so much for this video my man. luscious hair lmao!!!!. rock on my dude! 🤘🤘🤘
Imagine play this game and the english is not your lenguage. Im so lost, but i can understand something now! Thank you!
Man - this is the most helpful video on new 7.2 gearing. I was grinding like mad but now I will grind smartly. Thanks a lot for all your research and help.
Still wondering why they scrapped the 6.0 system.
Very helpfull man. Saved me so much effort, research and asking around with this video
I enjoy MMOs, but I can't imagine this level of complication and investment.
Playing an MMO like a full time job, and keeping Excel Spreadsheets and shit.
Thanks for these, brother. You and a small few other creators help new players more than you know!
nice guide. for leveling crafting still might be a good way to gear since you level up crafting while gearing up. also i have some shells with set bonuses saved from the long past pvp play which i can mod and augments slot are also there. alas all that gear became bound, so some sets stuck on my main. but since i didnt sell everything i still have some of set gear for 3-4 toons i played the most
The last time I geared up was 2 years ago, when the max level was still 75, and I seem to remember the gearing process being much simpler, or at least more understandable.
It was WAY easier at level 75 and not as confusing :)
Thanks for the video, trying to get into the game but was way lost on gearing,
When 7.3 drops they are going to make it a little easier, but that is probably still 2 months away. They will just be having 1 type of currency for each gear path except legendary implants.
@@Draemn well I guess that's a good small change
Just what I was looking for! Amazing video!
Unfortunately, the game never teaches these kinds of things. Instead teache swhat every other game has as tooltips... :/
Yup I just unlocked it on one character and now have 336 legacy stuff I just toss around between my alts.
7.3 is going to launch within a month or two and will remove excess currencies so most gear only takes 1 currency to upgrade.
great vid😄💯👍litle complicated but very well explained out
trick to get the master flashpoint or ops gear at item lvl 340 is to max out the pve gear to 340 then run master flashpoints or ops. the loot scales to the same item lvl as what you have in those slots. sadly does not work with the legendary implants so you still have to grind for the tech frags there. how to max out the pve gear is simple. Run your Heroic 2+ dailys at lvl 80 I'm pulling in around 400+ conquest commendations within 2 hours per day.
Quick note from the editor. And it’s literally him
I found this comment extremely funny. I don't know why, but thanks for the laugh.
@@Draemn yeah dude anytime 😂
Thank you! I wish bioware made this easier to understand and discover so people don't waste resources.
100% agree! Thanks and I'm glad it helps.
The fastest why I've found is grind one piece of flashpoint gear up to 336, then get the vendor mission and deconstruct it, then you can give every character 336 gear straight away.
If you have access to operations, it is much faster and easier to grind up by joining story mode runs like DF/DP but I get a lot of people don't do that.
stop grinding?!? That is the fun of the mmorpg. I love the grind.
@@Draemn neat ! Didn't knew that. I guess we learn each day.
Thank you for making this easy and comprehensive! Keep it up, my dude :)
Thanks for breaking all of this down. It really sounds like a pain in the ass. Wonder why they got around made it this way?
Great video
Great Video! You are very informative and are clear on how to obtain gear. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Sir.

Good to see a vid man! Thanks for the info :)

I'm so glad you made that comment at the end "unnecessarily stupid" because through the entire video I could not help but to think the same thing. Upgrade system seems overly complex, not in a technical way either in a tedious way that some idiot made up, they were probably going for different but different has to at least make sense, this system is plainly put.... stupid.
Very nice video!
This is the most player hostile system of gearing I have ever seen.
But, most dps use less accuracy for PvP, so if you are serious about PvP you should have extra gear to get the right stats.
yeah I dont understand anything and I see no point of even trying anymore with this system
If your can get buy in the gear you have, just enjoy playing!
When you say you did 1 master mode EV are you saying you did that 1 time and it dropped a purple 336?
@@darthvaporize235 He got a lower purple piece and upgraded at vendor to 336.
@@JohnnyRedvers what is an lower purple piece?
@@dexteros5770 A purple piece lower than 336. For instance if your gear rating is 330 then you will loot a 330 piece. So by lower I mean lower than 336. He would have then gone to the vendor and upgraded the purple 330 piece to a 332 piece, and so on. He needed to farm the Op currency to do that.
@@JohnnyRedvers ok thanks
336 prototype (blue) accessories and artifact (purple) accessories have the same stats.
The video it's good and thank you for that! But ughh the gearing system sucks right now...i have to farm world bosses every day...
I wasted so many tech frags not knowing about that implant achievement 😅
Thanks! from the blind guy:)
@@Draemn great, thank you so much 👍
This was an amazing guide.
Just followed! If I understand correctly, if I already have an armour piece I can deconstruct it for the 336 mod quest, yes?
They want you kept busy and playing the game - unfortunately they didn't have brighter ideas 😂
You also see it in a lot of missions or dungeons...
Start from point A and go to point B - of course across the whole map or dungeon - just to finish back at point A and being sent to point B again
Poor and brainless design in my opinion
Completely agree
This is why i just cant get into this game.
there was No Need for this they spent changing the gearing system from the 306 gear and should have done what we asked which was more stoey content more PVP maps and more end game content. but no they give us more chapter BS and 1 Op and 1 PVP map it made the grind harder and made a lot of people that sub drop their subs why have subs when all you want is people to buy cartel coins.
im stuck at 326 item level and everybody tells me to do Veteran flashpoints and master flashpoints but they only drop the same item level gear i already have.....
I used pvp armor for hyde and zeke
Thanks for the video! I've been running Vet FPs for a full week now bit haven't had any luck in getting a 330 piece, I'm full 324 gear, am I doing something wrong?
you have to upgrade your gear, boss drops are always the item rating you have equipped. You might benefit from checking out how to upgrade gear in my other gearing guide from the launch of 7.0
3:41 🥳
I hope this helps de-stressing some of you who saw this and thought: "Oh my Galaxy, I'm never gonna get there!" or "This is too much - bye!"
Because you do *not have to* play it this highly "efficient" way, if you are not willing or capable for whatever human reason! It does *not* make you a worse player like some over-ambitious idiots in-game might misjudge you without knowing your background and reasons for it ❣
Everyone should and is able to get there - even with slower pacing and more help sometimes.
Most importantly: enJOY the Game's beautiful content (visually and story-wise) and don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you do *not* want to do! Coercion is taking away the fun - call it out and leave if a group is not booting the a-hole(s)...better for your mental health, I can promise you that ❣
Toodles...
Agreed, play for fun. Chasing the grind and most efficient play style can really take away from the fun some times.
Here's the best way to gear, just get gear, and dodge everything, and you win.
It's weird how the mechanics designed to make us play more an addict us to the game actually lower the enjoyment we get from the game.
@@Draemn Thanks so much 🤙
You're the man
Man what are your chest and specially gloves? I hace onderon chest as well but yours seems a bit different. But I'm more interested in gloves. Very hard to find a gold matching one (or is it the bracers?)
I've got a white dye module in the chest, gives it a very different look. There is good chance the gloves are the onderonian gear you can buy from the spoils of war vendor. You might just need to change what toon buys them to get the different model. I think mine are the "force-lord" variant.
I accepted the 330 one, got myself a 330 prototype, deconstructed, but it didn’t do anything with the npcs or did the quest complete. Any assistance?
So I think I missed my main question or you simply didn't mention it.
Does an augment disappear when you upgrade a piece? I already threw in an augment into an implant and I'm curious if I just wasted the augment kit.
Yes, you lose the augment kit and if you don't take out the augment, you'll lose that too. 22:00 I go over putting augments in. It could have been more clear, but it was intended to point out to players to augment the moddable gear not including the accessories.
gonna play again soon. have to sub tho. so crippling when not having a active sub.
hope all is well you have been quiet lately
It's been a rough few months. Thanks for the kind thoughts!
If you get a blue 330 from a master dungeon, could you take the 336 quest instead and skip straight to those? Or is there something preventing that
Skip right to the 336 quest if you want. I just like doing the 330 quest first because then I can augment the moddable gear and and get a big power boost sooner, even though the overall result takes a little longer.
great vid I am still on the upgrade mision lvl 80
I came here to try and understand. I left much more confused than when I started. You can play this game hundreds of hours and so not have it explain to you all the various tokens and chips and how/where to get them... Help
There is definitely a lot of information as I chose to showcase all of the different gearing paths instead of making a separate video for each path depending on a player's preference of how they want to play the game. Hopefully you were able to go back and watch again the sections that are relevant to you and get a good idea how to skip most of the grind (there is still some grinding invovled).
i will save for later to see if it is even worth trying in game or move to something worth spending money on this game was Soo good but the grind after grind kills it
If you're in no rush, wait for 7.3 to start upgrading gear.
Sorry, I'm not sure. I haven't had any issues.
hey there
just a random question...what the name of the set (outfitter, breakfast turtle) is wearing? and is it dyed?..really like the looks of it=)
Yes, it's the onderonian armour from generic level 75 gear (non moddable). It's got a white and grey dye.
@@Draemn oh cool..any way to obtain these nowadays?=)
@@indoorgriller Spoils of War vendor for tech frags is the way I know of. I know they added a ton of cosmetic gear to vendors for credits, so there might be another way.

does a subscription makes a difference for gearing ?
You don't need gear for stories
@@mynameajeffblack8265 That's awesome. Thank you.
In the personal conquests tab I have progress 772k/100k and I don't have 200cc. Is it possible that I accidentally spent them somewhere else?
If you were not level 80 at the start of the week, you might have made your personal conquest (100k) before the reward changed to include 200cc. I think it changes at level 76. If you earned any cc this week, it would show up under your "weekly limit" even if you spent them.
