Just purchased this lens open box which came basically new in the box. It now lives on my A7 IV, I love this GM lens! I got a chance to use the newer 35mm GM with the updated autofocus. It’s a tad better than my 24mm GM but not by much.
Now in 2024, the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM Lens is still the best 24mm you can get ! I have the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM, but I do not need aperture 1.4, neither do I need autofocus, so I wish Voigtländer will make a APO-Lanthar 24mm Lens or Sony will make a new high end compact series "GMC" Lenses which have at least the same high optical image quality as the GM series, just more compact and with lower aperture.
This is my favorite lens. I love my 50mm but there is something about the sharp details that come from my 24mm that cannot yet be replaced.

I want a 28mm or 30mm f1.4, hopefully just a tad smaller than this lens. Love it though, constantly swapping between this and the 28mm f2

Hey i just got this lens, but i hear noise while changing aperture. Is this normal with this lens?
You will hear a click if the aperture ring is set to click ON, it will be silent when unclicked
20mm f1.8 G is a GM for all practical purposes.

The Sony 20mm 1.8 G is not a GM Lens
