In Montana, I once saw a No Trespassing sign which read; “No Trespassing, I own a gun, and a backhoe, and I know how to use both!” Seems appropriate for your homestead too!
I thought getting older - time moved slower - was I ever wrong - I think times is going much faster at the age of 70 vs 30....& your joke about a cement mixer / dishwasher made me laugh - Lori probably just shakes her head at your humor...I love watching you two...Great day to you both

Always such a treat to get a new video from you. Your rock retaining walls are incredible. Such a work of art and fascinating to watch the progress. I had a neighbor spend 3 years working on one on 1 side of his driveway. It is maybe 25 feet long and after 3 years he still hadn't been successful with it lasting the winter. You have so much talent to make them look easy to do. I hope you share the build of the new one. You can do a time lapse of the entire wall when you finish and everyone will see what I'm saying. Cookies and scratches for the kids. Oh, my hubby likes that Orange hand cleaner too. Like you, he has used it for years.

If you have "wintertime" check again the big trees on the new place- and take them down as long as no structure is there.
1: You have more space for mooving trucks or cars around the building places.
2; No future destruction of the building
3: No killing trees or big branches can fall on you
4: No lightening from heaven can hit such a tree and set a firer on it
Also a side effect: As more light- sun comes on a building as dryer it will get even in wintertime.
The forrest surounding humidity is as you know high...and with an micro valley under the new positon of the home- the heat in summer will lift humidity from the river to your home.
Give sunlight a chance to work free for you.

If you want to work by your self make a water level with a reservoir of water and long plastic tube. It is very inexpensive and more accurate than a transit or lazer level and requires only one person to operate. I installed a 200' block retaining wall to within 1/4 inch of level and used it to excavate to the exact depth without disturbing the subsoil.

I like drilling holes myself, unless there are to many stones. Drilling makes a much more stable hole. Jmo. Scrubs in a bucket work unbelievably for cleaning your hands of anything and no rinsing, just wipe and done ! Great video, thumbs up.

Look at that beautiful soil so rich looks like pure gold to me. Our soil was red clay my flower beds I’ve worked on for years, but I broke my back some and now I just get a little done now and then but flowers that I’ve got are pretty. Just thinking what that dirt could grow I miss being able to have gardens I loved working outside. Have a wonderful winter God bless you all…

Up in the North Woods it went below freezing last night again and we're expectiing to be in the 20's by next Monday. You'll love the laser level. I just got one and used it last night for the first time. Now I wonder why I didn't get one years ago but I think the technology is there now. Good to
