Those chickens are going to feel so neglected when you finish moving the soil. They think it is for their personal playground restaurant. So funny 👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣
This was so uplifting to watch. It was a joy to watch one brother help another brother, an aunt teach a niece how to make blackberry jelly, an older cousin teaching a younger cousin how to make (and smash) a sand castle and sisters in law work side by side. Perfection! Way to go everyone. 🥰
Your child has such a sweet disposition and a joy to watch. I found myself smiling every time he featured. What a delight! Gorgeous video, well paced and interesting as a result.

Sugar is a preservative not just a sweetener. Many modern health conscience jam maker has reduced the sugar in their preserves only to find that it grows mould within a few months. If you consume your jam soon then it may not be a problem if you cut back on the sugar.
I love that the chickens stay so close to the excavator and follow it around like it’s their leader and they aren’t scared! It reminds me of Dr Seuss’ book ‘Are You My Mother?!’. Merci pour partager ton travail et tes rêves avec nous!
I found your videos last week and have been binge watching them. You have worked so hard to make it beautiful even though there is a lot more to do. It looks like a different place already. Odin is so cute and happy. Love watching him. He reminds me of my grandson. I will be following your channel for future videos.
Great work yet again. Nice to see your family & your niece who was playing with Oden, as well as creating memories with her aunt with the jam making. It’ll be interesting to see if anyone knows how to rebuild/fix the bread oven, I know Phillipe will do a fabulous job whenever he gets round to it. The future pond looks/sounds very interesting however will you have to wack thump the dirt walls down to stop the water from leaking out, or put an additive in the soil-please check. Nice to see June again and your wife does an exceptional voice over for the videos that are made & edited by her. Australia 🇦🇺
Hey Kerry!! We have done some research on building a pond and will have to do some more. There are quite a few people giving good tips! Having family over is fun, especially with the little ones seeing them play together.
Imagine the previous farmer here had to build and maintain this and farm to make a living. We take our easy but often unfulfilling lives for granted. Your new life is 100% fulfilling and rewarding
Hello Livia! We actually have a weeping willow "nursery" behind where we're excavating (actually all kinds of willow including weeping willow, common willow etc.). We planted cuttings last year in preparation so we could use them like you suggested, to help absorb water. So once excavation is done, as well as the digging of the swale, we'll plant them on the right location :)

When I was a 8-18 years old, I’d spend every summer in the wild beauty of Appalachia with my Granny. Most of the land is mountains covered in thick old growth forests, rich in wildlife. She lived in a holler, grew a big vegetable garden, the 10 houses here were all my extended family. Some had chickens, one took care of the pigs, one took care of the smokehouse, etc… the paths to each house were lined on both sides with blackberry and raspberry bushes. Paradise. And each day I helped a different relative with something. It was light work with many hands. Then full summers off school ended but when I retired… guess where I live full time now? In the house next door to my granny, got to spend the last 5 years of her life (my mom was her caretaker) making her suppers like she did for me, using her recipes like she taught me. I can’t help with the crops anymore, but my family is wonderful and they always bring over veggies they canned, huge masons jars full of honey and honeycomb from hives I can see out my window. You are creating that for your kids and all your nieces, nephews, cousins, etc… the memories they will cherish most from childhood, many will long for during adulthood, some will choose this life as their livelihoods, and some will come full circle later in life. This is happiness for many reasons for generations. I wish you nothing but joy and success. We may come from different countries, different landscapes, but in the heart of the matter, it’s also exactly the same too. Love & Family, that’s the important things in life. Unfortunately there seems to be very little information available on our bread ovens, they seem to be something that everyone has, but no one knows how old they are, ours is luckily intact, although when we bought the house it had been used to burn rubbish in for 50 years, the oven part is 4 Mtrs across, and there is the preparation part which is 4 mtr x5 mtrs, far too big for one house, so I think each property took it in turns to bake the bread for the commune, the oven part was built over a wooden former, our over liner is made from terracotta tile, and is from circa 17th century from the handmade ironwork I have found, the good thing about yours is that as it has collapsed, all the materials should still be there, Enjoy life! Chris B.
Hey Chris, i think you are right that they used to be used for the commune as not all houses have them or they were demolished but that would surprise me.
@@DomaineSauvage Yes from what I can see around here,(southern Lot), no one bothers to demolish any building unless they want the stone, so old buildings just become part of the garden, once the roof goes, the weather gets at the roof structure and in 50 years it falls in, luckily our bread oven is a complete stone arch, over which a tiled roof is constructed, so the weather has not got at it. Stay safe, and get those logs tucked away! Chris B.
About the noice from the brakes, start with changing the oil in the axel. Wet brakes have special oil that needs to be changed. And like you sad, grease is the cheapest mechanic Greetings from Sweden. 👍👍👍
We changed the oil with new oil that is meant for immersed brakes. That is why i believe they are worn out unless different kinds of immersed brake oils can cause the grinding noise?
The brakes could be worn out, but many years ago I changed oil on a Volvo wheel loader with " wet brakes" but had to changed oil once more to another brand, beacause the noice did not dissapeared after the first time.

Been tuning into your web page for a few days now and watching you renovate the surrounding land to the barns and House etc. To notice how your boy is coming on and see him with yourselves riding on the small grass cutting tractor with his Dad making these memories on video you can always look back on is great.

Wish we could also come over and do something like that, but South Africans are not allowed anywhere.
@@anthonydale1723 It is difficult not being to travel freely, i cant imagine as i am from Europe and haven't had that problem yet! So weird that we can go to SA without a problem but the other way around..
@DomaineSauvage hi, a holiday to France or Portugal or anywhere is fine. I meant, buying a place like you did and relocating, we're not part of the EU or anything, our passports count for nothing L😅L
I admire what you been doing you do what I dreamed of for a long long time.
Thank you Astrid!
The timber in that dome is amazing, hard to believe how much work it took to build that place.👍
This was a beautiful place, it even burned down in the sixties while they were renovating it..
I really enjoy the way you do these videos, the content, the photography, narration and the feel. It’s interesting and different. Thank You !
No problem John, glad you enjoy it!
Found your video today and subscribe, I'm from Philippines ' I love viewing country side greenery, Farmville simple life is a big difference , less of stress and healthy lifestyle, love your Chanel
Welcome Jane, less stress but more work 😅
Unfortunately there seems to be very little information available on our bread ovens, they seem to be something that everyone has, but no one knows how old they are, ours is luckily intact, although when we bought the house it had been used to burn rubbish in for 50 years, the oven part is 4 Mtrs across, and there is the preparation part which is 4 mtr x5 mtrs, far too big for one house, so I think each property took it in turns to bake the bread for the commune, the oven part was built over a wooden former, our over liner is made from terracotta tile, and is from circa 17th century from the handmade ironwork I have found, the good thing about yours is that as it has collapsed, all the materials should still be there, Enjoy life!
Chris B.
Thanks for sharing your journey, NC USA 🇺🇸
Thank you Thomas!
New subscriber here. I just finished watching one of your long videos uploaded maybe 13 days ago and decided I need to watch more of your videos... 😍
Make that 2!!
Welcome, hope you continue to enjoy our videos!
About the noice from the brakes, start with changing the oil in the axel. Wet brakes have special oil that needs to be changed. And like you sad, grease is the cheapest mechanic
Greetings from Sweden.
Hi, new subscriber here. I'm sure you will have an amazing place once it's finished. I have been watching some of your other videos. Great work.
Thank you for sharing.
Love hearing your son laugh. Enjoy time with the family.
Take care and stay safe. X
Welcome Yvonne, hope you continue to enjoy our videos!
Been tuning into your web page for a few days now and watching you renovate the surrounding land to the barns and House etc. To notice how your boy is coming on and see him with yourselves riding on the small grass cutting tractor with his Dad making these memories on video you can always look back on is great.
Thx Dave! He will have a lot of memories of this place and the ones he cant remember he can always look back at the videos 😅
More work but a greater outcome! Get digging that Barn! I love that you use the old ways of building! Plastics are a toxic material..
We will get there in the end!
@@DomaineSauvage Yes, you certainly will! You are doing a great job being thorough! Very impressed here! 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
I can see the progress! Oh the oven is now exposed and is very interesting to see! So nice to have family with you! And the extra help is always welcome! Those grounds were absolutely beautiful, what a nice trip! Thanks for taking us along! Good work as always!
Glad you enjoyed it Susan!
