    Not all .22’s will peen the chamber, this Marlin is a great example though. I have seen bad examples of Nylon 76’s breaking firing pins due to over travel and the retaining pin making hard contact with the firing pin.
    Win 94/22M’s are notorious for doing the opposite and peening the firing pin from dry firing as they’re fairly soft FP’s. It flattens the striking point leaving them short. Have to either forge and stretch the metal then re harden adequately or replace with new when possible.

      @@kruger1932 I made mine out of 3/8 Oil Hardening drill rod turned to .226” with a 1/8” radius on the end. Grind .062” off the .226 turned portion. Then harden the end and draw back to Straw color. Then you’ll have one…. I’m not sure where you can purchase one. Brownells may have something. Maybe I should start selling gunsmithing tools. Had a lot of people ask about the Bolt Bending Blocks as well
