I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he doesn’t do so because of the possibility of somehow having a live round end up in there? I’d like to hear a response from someone who knows for sure.

Theoretically, yes; You could run through the cylinder to fire the live ammo then use the shells as a “poor man’s snap cap”. Personally though, if you’ve already invested X amount of money on self preservation, I don’t see why you wouldn’t go ahead and spend the money on some good snap caps. They’ll last you a life time and it’ll make sure you always keep your live ammunition away from your practice ammo. Hope this helps.
