Vietnamese only take the bus if it's like 5hrs and under, more than that they fly, since domestic plane ticket is super cheap ranging from 200k to 2mil VND, which most people spend on a single meal at a high end restaurant

Wow! you did not visit Hue. Nice, peaceful, and good other foods you can find beyond the noodle dishes. Actually, in Thailand we have similar name of dish, “Cao Lao” (เกาเหลา) which you can order from any noodle shop and you will get any meats, fish balls, etc. and soup except noodle. Sometimes we order “cao lao” to eat with steamed rice.
not sure what prices are like now, but last trip we did in 2018, we did 3 domestic flights in Vietnam. The most we paid was $50Au, the least was $28 for Can Tho to Danang.
Wow huge thing travel with pets, big problem is getting back in rabies etc , quarantine problems bringing your pet back to Oz, you might loose him to quarantine in oz for 4 to 6 months and the cost is huge, so we looked at it but didn't want to have him caged up and $4000 in costs just to quarantine
You guys made a wrong bus! This one is for local only! As a foreigner tourist, you guys should take a VIP bus or VIP train or a plane! Anyways, enjoy your time in the northern of vietnam. You are gonna love it!!

I took a sleeper train from Da Nang to Hanoi, I was alone and shared a sleeping carriage with a Vietnamese family, kinda fun and entertaining, still got some sleep, but once was enough! I feel sometimes you don’t do enough research, there is so much online that can be helpful in wherever your going nowadays, that it can minimise some problems like you experience! I’ve taken many long distance buses, yes they are cheap and usually faster than the train, but in my experience it’s always better to take the train!
Depends what type of dog he is with coping and whether travelling around will stress him out , whether its fair on him and if its better for him to just stay with family until you get settled somewhere more permanent. You have to remember public transport and accommodation options when you have a pet with you and if America is easier to travel with pets then it might not be as difficult. On the other hand he most likely love seeing you both again and will enjoy bring around you and visiting new places too, sorry dont have any experience in pet travelling
Think I became sub 70k! I understand leaving pets behind as we've left our dog too since March... It's hard, but just think of that reunion you'll have! Hey, we're taking a sleeper bus that we also bought on 12go Da Nang to Hanoi. The bus company showing on the ticket is TechBus or TBus. Is this the same company you rode? Also the pickup point... Were you in the right location? Thanks 🙏 and safe travels always!! 🐾

I travelled to vietnam few years ago, and that is kinda sleeper bus i took from sa pa to ha noi.. from ha noi to sa pa, i took an overnight train, i admit that trains and buses system in vietnam are away behind from indonesia (especially java island transportation). Geez, the dinner was so awful. Again, dinner for overnight buses in overland java is wayyyy better than this.. Anyway, the toilet in vietnam just exactly look like in indonesia, the squad toilet. Since both of you only visited bali, which are resort n hotels, but if you visit a local house, they have the similar squad toilet, for real.
Vietman is in our plan for next year and its just amazing to check out your vlogs and prepare for it ❤ we are looking for the perfect location as well, What do you think about Australia?
I find it very convenient to have an EU pet passport when traveling with a dog. It is far more organized than the paperwork the US issues. EU Pet passport is a booklet similar in size to your passport, the US paperwork is a multipage document. It was 20-30 euro in Greece. This paperwork cost around $200 in California. I've driven/flown with our dogs to 14 countries so far. The car was very easy compared to the plane. We have flown in cabin with United, Lufthansa, Norwegian Air, TUI, Delta & Bangkok Airways. Americas are easiest, Europe is more complex, Asia is a chess match for traveling with anything bigger than a cat. Always carry copies of your animal documents and never hand over the originals if avoidable. What breed of dog do you have? Weight? We had some weird pickup and drop off spots in Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia.
Hopefully you'll start sharing content beyond night market food, bus rides & being hungover. Seems like you're blowing through the country, not much time in any one place? A little more history & detail of where you are would be appreciated too. I think your editing skills are great though! The shots, visuals, music are so well done! The sleeper carriages on the trains are actually pretty good, plus you can move to other carriages and there's a dining carriage up front, oh well, next time!
I always fly between cities in Vietnam. The bus and trains are not the best. You guys should absolutely slow down and enjoy the experience of being in a new city and country. I would spend at least a week or month in each place. I’m in Hoi An for a month or two or more and getting to know it better and better
@@livetodaydietomorrowltdt2405 $100 to $200. But when you’re spending thousands of dollars on a trip of a lifetime I don’t believe in suffering to save a little bit. In ten years you’ll never miss $100. But if you have a terrible experience you’ll never forget it
G'day Mandy and Lloyd (sorry mate, Mandy's turn to be "1st")...feel great sympathy for you both. My wife and I were in Da Nang 5 years ago. We booked all these tours and were very excited about it. The first day there we had this local noodle soup dish that got us extremely sick. We spent the next 4 days in our hotel washroom and canceled all of our fun activities 🤣
First time in Vietnam 🇻🇳 we went to Danang and the hotel was decorated in such a terribly gaudy decor that we changed hotels. That was 12 years ago. I didn’t like Danang but then we went to Hoi An and I loved it. Now I always skip Danang and go straight to Hoi An. In my opinion they are like night and day
We recently went to Vietnam 2 months for a short holiday and to also visit our Vietnamese friends. We took the sleeper bus from Saigon to Nha Trang and one of our Vietnamnese friend help us book a ticket and boy it was really uncomfortable. The “bus station” was in the middle of nowhere, ticket counter was weird like it wasn’t even a shop ?! Bus drivers didn’t check our tickets we just followed this person who process the tickets at the counter. And none of the bus drivers spoke English, even with Google translate they don’t understand as we wanted to confirm the sleeper bus is to nha trang and not anywhere else. So we just followed and trust the staff and man, along the way they kept picking up random people at random stops and seeing them hand the drivers money directly so I assume it was “illegal”. Even tho the bus was packed, those random people coming up just slept or sit on the floor beside us. Like wot the fck? So throughout the night I had to hold my belongings tightly just to be safe. And when we reach Nha Trang, they didn’t have a designated stop. They just randomly stop ? at random places every now and then and we had to use our Google maps as an estimation. Once they stop at a random area which is near our hotel we just got off in that middle of nowhere with our big luggages and took a grab to our hotel. It was near impossible to ask the drivers or anyone on what’s happening because no one speaks english. I almost had a break down because it was pretty nerve wrecking. Glad I experience once but never again. MAYBE I would do a sleeper bus again provided if communications especially with tourists/foreigners have improved even the slightest in the near future or if I am travelling on the sleeper bus with a Vietnamese friend where at least there’s a local with us to do the talking/communication. Other than that, I would rather spend more on a domestic flight. In fact when we came back from Nha Trang back to Saigon to head back our home country, we took the domestic flight which was so much easier and hassle free. That’s just my experience.
This probably not that bad but rather quite surprising when I visited Cambodia. I booked for a guest house through AirB*B and I was quite surprised because we have to sleep with like 10 other people in one room. I tried looking for a cheap hotel nearby but they're quite pricey since most of them are still using USD. So finally I got back to that guest house and on the first day, the water pump was broken, so we decided to have a water fighting while showering at the front yard. Finally I was happy with my decision cos I met lots of people from around the world and made it one of my most memorable trip ever! 😁
Love your content. I'm surprised and slightly disappointed that you didn't share the beauty of Danang. An amazing city with so much to do and see. P.S. When using sleeper buses in SE Asia, ALWAYS use the VIP class buses. Super comfortable and less sketchy clientele.
Yes but its also an hour before you need to be there so thats also 30 mins time allowed so it can be 4 hours. Also with flight delays happening frequently here. The bus is less dramas. Just get seated at go go go. Probably need a sleeper bus. I had a luxury bus from HCMC to Dalat and i would rather do 10 hours on there vs one hour flight stress. Plus its 10 % of the price and bus moves quickly whereas trains are slightly faster than human running speeds
I felt so sad that things didn't go as expected. The schedule was wrong and the food order was wrong; you were tired after 16-17 hours on the bus. I truly didn't understand why big cities like Danang didn't even have VIP sleeper buses! Love you positive thinking.
Even normal Vietnamese take flights not long buses. Cheap Flights are not much higher than buses but they are much more convenient, shorter time, safer, less tired. Now only people with little money use long buses
I understand your convenience when it come to plastic and cash. Vietnamese do the same thing in the US. "Cash Only", is a way to hide income the from the (IRS) government. It also a way to avoid paying fees for transaction on credit card. Some don't want to keep records.
The buses here can be very hit and miss. As i'm over 6ft tall i usually give them a pass as not so comfortable. The train is really cool though but it's pretty expensive and can take a while, beautiful scenery though a lot of the time.
Double up the tiny chairs mate, lest one breaks and you become a spectacle. Speaking from experience, here 😀 Flying intra-VN is much better, cheap and reliable, especially between the bigger cities. The VIP sleeper cabin bus to Hoi An was nice though.

That's usual life in VN. Most Vietnamese used the service, including me. Lloyd & Mandy are not on a luxury tour but they are living in VN the way we live.
They lack real experience the way of Vietnam live. You can point the food you want, they will serve exactly. That bus is local bus, not tourist bus. So every stop-station, services can not speak english. asking someone on bus to know who can speak english to help translate
In VN if you don`t speak or understand the language , a lot of misunderstandings could happen , particularly in rural areas . Google Translate and Google Maps most of the time don`t do a good job.
I had bad experiences with horrible bus services and am sad to see you had to go through all these. Better services are out there. Next time just ask if you don't know something for sure. You can even post here. People can help you choose good ones, not bad ones like this. So sorry, though I have been through something like this. And I am VNese.
Need to do a bit more research guys, check distances, read blogs from other travellers. This seemed to be a video of complaints, about the buses, the food.

Probably would have been cheaper to just fly if it's that long of a trip...or book the bus that 2Passports 1Dream did. Their bus looked amazing.
Hey if 6'4 Anthony Bourdain can do it so can u mate .
Double up the tiny chairs mate, lest one breaks and you become a spectacle. Speaking from experience, here 😀 Flying intra-VN is much better, cheap and reliable, especially between the bigger cities. The VIP sleeper cabin bus to Hoi An was nice though.
Hey guys, I do know that eva zu beck, eamon and bec & kinging it UA-cam channels all have dogs when travelling. Eva has just adopted and is doing north to South America right now. Hope that helps and am sure they would all welcome you with advice on travelling with your ❤️🐾🐾
traveling yogjakarta , or sumatra indonesia
Hello, Thailand miss you 🤗🙏
Should have opted for the train guys, I've done both train and bus and bus is a pain!
I just subscribed for you guys as I have watched some good vids thanks guys. But this vid was boring AF! Lift your game Dudes 👏🏼
U have to go to Dalat my home town.
Are you not the same people that booked a hotel in Bali that’s not ready yet? Think you might need to prepare a bit before you go somewhere.
Very much this! A little bit of research & planning go a long way which will lead to a much better experience. Hopefully their content improves as most of their Vietnam vlogs come across as inexperienced travelers just looking for cheap beer.
@@sabrinas2181 You sound a very arrogant person!

16:24 I can't believe you guys have to go through this. This dinner was terrible. 😐
@@quangvinh1153 So true
In VN if you don`t speak or understand the language , a lot of misunderstandings could happen , particularly in rural areas . Google Translate and Google Maps most of the time don`t do a good job.
Also out of curiosity- are you getting stared because of your vlog ( holding camera) or because you're a foreigner ( blond hair and blue eyes)?
My cats have traveled with me to China, Thailand, Cambodia, USA and Mexico. It’s not always easy but it’s definitely possible. 🐱
ขอบคุณค่ะ
How much was the bus?
viel Glück in Hanoi 😍
Ok am I the only one who talks to my dogs of the phone? 🐕🦺
Would it not be better to fly to Hanoi?
better yes, cheaper no
Guys if you want to travel with your pet be prepared to spend plenty of coin
I had bad experiences with horrible bus services and am sad to see you had to go through all these. Better services are out there. Next time just ask if you don't know something for sure. You can even post here. People can help you choose good ones, not bad ones like this. So sorry, though I have been through something like this. And I am VNese.
Bus in VIET NAM took long hours as airplane from us to VIETNAM haha
The best time travel to Hanoi is December, not now
do you want to go to best place in vietnam like me? this is Phu Quoc Island , it's very fantastic
Check with another UA-camr couple Tim and Fin on their advice how to travel with dog. I think they are traveling with their dog Pepper.
Cau Lou was my favorite it Hoi An. They told me it’s only made in Hoi An. I looked for it in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and didn’t find it.
It is only considered 'genuine' if the water used to make the noodles is from a select couple of wells in Hoi An. This makes it a hyper-regional dish.
You should have made it the other way around!
...also, my trip was only 12 hours...
Do you guys leave a review on Google and the like? It would be good to let other travelers know how that company blatantly lie about their business
Need to do a bit more research guys, check distances, read blogs from other travellers. This seemed to be a video of complaints, about the buses, the food.
Yes! A few of their vlogs are ill prepared.
great Vlog
Those bus rides look too grueling. It's around $100 usd to fly on Vietjet. Flying is the way to go.
Saigon to Hanoi by jet......1hr. 50 min.....have to be crazy to take a bus 20 hours, no thank you.
Lloyd looks like Harrison from MAF’s haha
Whats Maf's?
No idea why you put yourself through that when there is an excellent train service.
Getting your dog back to Aus will kill you mentally & financially. Check out sailing nanji and the hassles they had to get their dog back in aus borders.
Well let's see it from the bright side. You pay for 10-hours and you got 17 hours ride! Just kidding. Hope you enjoy Vietnam.
Small Blue Egg is Quail
I love your videos but I don’t understand why you are rushing through Vietnam and Thailand? Why not spend more time in each place and enjoy it?
Importing pet 🐶 into the US should be pretty straightforward, they would outline what immunization paper work/doctor is required (maybe immigration website). To increase subscribers you should collaborate with other UA-camrs, especially popular one. There are a few in Vietnam : Phuc map vlog, Chris in ha noi, max, Dustin...
I hate riding buses in long distance traveling in Vietnam. They are going in Kilometer Per Hour not Mile Per Hour. Traveling at the speed of 30-35 Mile Per Hour is like moving like a turtle. I did one time from Saigon to Da Lat, my butt literally fell asleep. I know how you guys feel. ^_^
