Not too many LZ fans went out of the way to get this album in a hurry because Bonham's death was a fresh memory when it came out . We all eventually got it but it took a while ..

I completely loved this whole album when it came out and I still do. All material released by Zeppelin is a must hear. There are no bad albums. In fact I don't have a favorite album of theirs. They're all killer! Anything from their catalog is great. Even Hotdog. Hahah!

So far the best track, the late & greatest drummer John Henry (Bonzo) Bonham, missed so damn much.

This was something only Jimmy knew existed. Jimmy and Bonzo used to jam regularly in the studio without the other two and it was during one of those jam sessions that Jimmy decided to record Bonzo's drum work. Jimmy added a Harmonizer and some other studio production techniques to create this. He said the other two were very surprised when he brought this out to include on CODA because they'd never heard it before. If you watch In The Evening from Knebworth, you'll hear a drum effect similar to this - it might be the Harmonizer but I don't recall for certain, at the moment.

Bonzo's drum solo work always grooves. Its funny, even with all of the outfreakage going on in the live version of Moby Dick, he always has this implied triplet feel going on and it gives his drumming a kind of
Shuffle or R and B swagger. No other drummer thst I have heard has that.

After Bonzo died in 1980, me and my high school friends were severely bummed. For one thing, Zep would never tour again. We'd missed our chance. So when CODA came out in '82, we were all "Oh hell yeah, "new" Zeppelin!" It wasn't the best album, but it had enuf awesome stuff to keep us pretty happy. I loved and still love "Darlene" and "Walrter's Walk" the best. And "Poor Tom"! There's a 1970 vid representation of the live version of "I cant quit u baby" that u heard recently. FIRE!

Great reaction man. Hat's off to Bonzo! 💯 🤘🥁🪘🥁🪘🥁 Don't ever worry about how you rank Zeppelin material. It always changes for me, and it's just proof that this is the greatest rock band ever. Their material is it's own galaxy and any of their tracks can swirl into the Number 1 orbit at any time.

The ultimate Bonzo drum song. Moby Dick is nice, Pat"s Delight is great, this however is King.

Biz, you have to check out these additional tracks from the 1993 version of CODA (you have been listening to most of the 1993 mixes anyways - they have the black cover...The tan cover is the 1982 version). It took me months of urging (even though you said you didn't want to do it) to listen to CODA. Now I'm gonna have to bug you over these additional; tracks. Trust me, you will want to hear these songs....to me (and to many other people) they are the best songs off of this album, and they don't show up in the 1982 version. Here they are with links:
    1) Hey, Hey, What Can I Do

    2) Traveling Riverside Blues
    ua-cam.com/video/oIHFJdvzBms/v-deo.html
    3) Baby Come On Home
    ua-cam.com/video/ZAiifpkWZfA/v-deo.html
I'm gonna keep bugging you till you check out those three tracks, lol
    Peace

Back in the mid 70’s…. The top 3 drummers were
    1) John Henry Bonham
    2) Kieth John Moon
    3) Peter Criss
    (George Peter John Criscuola)

Montreux just like in 'Smoke On the Water'. A town in Switzerland. Evidently a pleasant place to record if ya got the budget. Drop some cash and go for it.

Yo Biz Buddy,at first I had mixed emotions, always greatful for their collective efforts, I decerning taste with "Tea for one" & "Poor Tom" stand alone their "passable" but collectively they seem to clash when played in running order,l don't know why, fanaticism I suppose, but expectations can be a good thing bad thing, the Artist decides on their own expression, others don't have much to say other than if they if they patron the work, anyway, a remix-composition of "Mobydick/Bonzo's Monteaux" put together by Jimmy for the box-set commonly referred to as " The Airship" the cover depicts "Crop Circles" along with a shadow of a Zeppelin going dianglally across, they blend together wonderfully!!!
