NGL, i'm 45 and was about ten or so when this came out and i've always loved it. i later learned the lyrics and what they meant when i was in high school. but you, my friends, just gave me another appreciation for this song that is fresh: the transitions are literally like the high and lows. that is incredibly spot on and i've never put that together before this vid. that is an incredibly nuanced observation and i commend you for picking that up. it literally never even occurred to me. nicely done!
I love to hear you say "This is a gritty song". I was called a Grit for enjoying this music when it was released. I'm so happy to see it bring enjoyment to a wide range of people now!
Fun fact. When I was 15, I started my guitar playing from this song. I usually practiced 6-8 hours per day, but I didn't give up until I learnt it (everything else but Kirk's fast solo...which I learnt a year later or smt) I had already learnt to play few riffs like "One" and "Enter Sandman" on my acoustic (which only had 4 strings), but when I got my first electric guitar, I went to library and got tablature notes to this album, and this was the first song I learnt. It was so f'ing slow at first, because I had to learn everything from scratch, counting frets and all. There was no internet back in 1992...and rewinding with cd-player (or c-cassette) was also very clumsy.
This is right up there with my all time favorite Metallica songs. This is an absolute banger. Very complex song structure. Excellent precision on all the instruments. Seeing this live for the first time was phenomenal.

Lex is becoming a serious metal head lol I love that shit
Melodic interlude is suggesting the nice feeling, then it starts to wear off etc. Crack lasts about that long too. Then you chase get more. The laughter at the end is the drug realising it's got ya, your addicted FOR LIFE.
I love how he is always so serious and shes just bouncing around all over having a blast 😂 love the couch gear!
Loving yalls' platform. Keep doing your thing. Lex, you lit. Brad, you're rad. Yall make me smile.
Fun Fact: I’m 14 and can play this on guitar! One of my favourite songs of all time!
Fun fact. When I was 15, I started my guitar playing from this song. I usually practiced 6-8 hours per day, but I didn't give up until I learnt it (everything else but Kirk's fast solo...which I learnt a year later or smt)
I had already learnt to play few riffs like "One" and "Enter Sandman" on my acoustic (which only had 4 strings), but when I got my first electric guitar, I went to library and got tablature notes to this album, and this was the first song I learnt. It was so f'ing slow at first, because I had to learn everything from scratch, counting frets and all. There was no internet back in 1992...and rewinding with cd-player (or c-cassette) was also very clumsy.
Yes about addiction. Number 2 comment. Sending you both lots of 💘 and blessings. Just love your reactions.
Lex is a mood! Also she's 100% right!
This is right up there with my all time favorite Metallica songs. This is an absolute banger. Very complex song structure. Excellent precision on all the instruments. Seeing this live for the first time was phenomenal.
Tool's "Sober" is kid of similar thematically, you should give it a listen.
I feel Brad is more "Four Leaf Clover" while Lex is More "Hit the lights" ;)
No Leaf Clover
I have to say that I love the fact that Lex, after a slow process of reacting to a lot of videos and songs, that she has become a metal head!! Rock on Lex!! \m/ \m/
Lex I love your smile it is so infectious. Watching your reaction throughout these different videos brings me back to the first time I heard these songs so many years ago.
I love watching Lex rock out to this.
These reactions are so cool, like decades later you think you have no one else to introduce your favorite songs to... What a feeling, man. Ya'll rock.
