Eck, there’s like 4 hangars on the back of the main “blade” section of the ship, that’s where the fighters deploy. That hangar on the front surrounded by tractor beams is where they pull small star fighters in to take as prisoners.
The hangars on the Starhawk are behind the blade, not inside the tractor beam assembly. You can actually see the hangars in the physical Armada model right on top of the engines at the bottom of the bow section. The EAW model you've used for footage also shows this quite accurately, with the glow of atmospheric curtains visible in a few shots. Edit: Just finished the video so here's the Starhawk's name and fleet comp. Starhawk: The "Flarestar" Escort Cruisers: x2 MC75, Dauntless-class, Liberator-class, or Vesper-type Escort Frigates: x2 MC40, x2 Dreadnought-class or Assault Frigate Mk.1 (not Mk.2 because that is one ugly ship and I refuse to have ugly ships in my fleet.), and x1 CC-7700. Escort Corvettes: x4 DP-20, x2 Braha'tok, x2 Hammerhead Corvettes, and x2 Arquitens-class (if available, if not a pair of Lothalian Corvettes will do).
@@Macky4941 I can understand that one might assume that a fan-made mod for a game might not be entirely canonically representative, and there are some features of that EAW model that are off.
Well if we account its legends predecessor the Gravestone that kind of ship has been around for thousands of years maybe the generic star hawk is smaller and cheaper
Something that immediately stood out to me was that the overall design of the Starhawk closely resembles that of the Gravestone from SW:TOR. The forward facing hull blades in particular.
The Starhawk would be the perfect ship to use against Thrawn in the Dave Filoni movie. That combined with several Squadrons of E-Wings would make me die of happiness
There’s…there’s no way “the main hangar is in the middle of the tractor beam” There’s a TON of slots in the back of the blade and the sides of the superstructure that could easily / seem to be implied to be hangers
I think eck was wrong as the another commenter said that wasn't the official model design of the starhawk i will have to go and play squadrons again and see if the hangars there
I agree that seems to be a mistake. You fly through that hole (or just through a gap right behind it? It's been a while since I've played Squadrons) and it's basically a straight line down to the main reactor with no real room for a hangar along that stretch.
@Captainswayofallof well as we know but the starhawk that was in squadrons was a prototype version that then turned into the FFG version being the final design (in Canon assumingly)
First off, I was starting to worry when you didn't upload for a bit, but I'm glad you're back. Second, thank you for covering my favorite new good guy capital ship, I was so intrigued when it was first described bc I've been a New Republic fan since Legends and was so excited when we finally got a look at it! Here's hoping we see newer Marks in Dave's projects or even in Rey's trilogy. Seeing a pre-Sequel or resurgent New Republic kick ass with these things in live-action would be sick!
Star Hawk: Peacemaker 2 Victory II class cruisers 3 Nebulon-B (2 up armored, 1 support config) and 2 Corona 5 Corellian Corvetts and 5 CR-90’s Finally a Quasar for additional Fighters/bombers support and starship repair or Assault craft (depending on the mission)
2:29 “Can stand against any ship, Even the fearsome super star destroyer” I can buy it, they can hold the Executor clsss off with their shields and weapon systems for at least a period of sustained fire. Compared to like, the Endurance which got bodied by the Megador instantky
I used to love running the Turducken in Armada: Start with nothing but Starhawk with Raddus as admiral which later deployed the Profundity which itself then deployed a Hammerhead or GR-75s with bombers. It wasn’t good but it was fun 😂
I really enjoy your videos and channel sir! I thought I was a big Star Wars nerd, then I found this channel! And you blow all my previous knowledge out of the water!! Keep up your awesome work brother!
Something that would be cool to see in upcoming Star Wars projects especially pertaining to Thrawn and his eventual campaign is how he would deal with one of these. Obviously the Starhawk is the pride and joy of the New Republic fleet, so it would be so cool to have a scene where there’s some arrogant New Republic officer who commands one, attack Thrawn and Thrawn just utterly destroys it with his strategy. That would probably help to cause the NR to panic
It has more hanger bays! that one in front was used to capture ships and take them in using the tractor beam very good tactical usage for fighting smaller ships or pirates 🏴☠️!there is one behind as well! Look more into this! Armada is amazing by the way and this is my favorite ship by far!
Also there's the Raddus' ship from the Sequel Trilogy. Admittedly they only had one that was the prototype and it never seemed to be produced otherwise.
Not that I am trying to throw physics into this, but it would have been cool to have a forward facing engine for when that huge tractor beam comes online, otherwise it would just pull itself towards the ship it is trying to grab.
@@---jx3ql oh please, EVERY Weaponsystem is a Banthashit one in Star Wars! Finite Laser Swords, "slow" moving Blaster Bolts, The Galaxy Gun itself, The Suncrusher? And then that the ONLY time someone tried to salvage the research and make a New Version, we got the dodgy build Darksaber when you also could take the Torpedos from the Galaxy Gun and Suncrusher, but them in a Starship and let a droid fly it to the target. Also, the whinery about Ep.8 showed on Thing: the typical Incel has now clue how "Newtons Third Law" works anyway
Great video as always i always loved the Starhawk design and history but Eck do you think you can do another deep dive and history video about the Venator Class Star Destroyer?
I know a lot of people don't think the tractor beams would be very useful in combat but if you could reposition ( rotate) enemy ships you can basically neutralize ISD's completely and most other ships would be significantly weekend simply by turning their face away from you.
The hanger in the middle of the tractor beams seems weird but I wonder if the flow could be reversed and used like a railgun to launch them similar to Moff Gideon's cruiser.

I quite like the ship, it and those new cruisers we saw in Ahsoka give us a good idea on the aesthetic of the New Republic fleet; the stripped down look of the Rebellion fleet with a sleek and compact finish. The prominent blade and long, narrow body leading to the thrusters reminds me of the Nebulon B, but not as revolting as the actual Nebulon B. I would love to see Thrawn destroy one of these in the next season of Ahsoka, but I feel that most new ships will have a lot of trouble gaining traction with the fans. I mean, it wasn't in some young adult lit from the 90s so it's irrelevant to Star Wars fans anyways.
7:06 You go on and on about the hanger deck being silly because it pours out of the prow in the center of the tractor cannon. That would be silly. Then you say it would work better if the hanger dumped from the opposite side. ALA 7:06 where you see fighters erupting from said hanger. I think you were wrong the entire time. Ive never seen fighters come out from that main weapon port in the prow.
Note: The Starships and Speeders you show in the video is a fan sourcebook designed for the defunct West End Star Wars roleplaying system. It's probably obsessively accurate to the the FFG book of the same name it uses as a source, and certainly matches the preview on FFG's site, but I don't have the book so can't confirm that (it's out of print and FFG doesn't as far as I can see sell PDFs).
I just had a idea with Repulsor and tractor beams I wonder if you could theoretically switch between the two cut through a ship pushing and pulling on the structure id imagine standing in the ship would feel like a paint mixer shaking everything apart
Imp star deuces[been reading rogue squadron series 😅] and even the mak 1 destroyers were said to have tractor beams powerful enough to rend a ship into pieces. That said, this was from a legends book but I think it holds. Plus, in new canon the Rebellion built the Starhawk with WAY more emitters... that's scary.
the implication of this kind of weapon would be an equal strain on your own ship - possibly combined with some induction heating effect overheating the coils in the tractor beams. At the very least to effectively use this you'd need a whole ship designed to absorb the vibrations and excess heat from the beam emitters = it's not something you could just do with any tractor beam. Think about what happens when you turn an iridescent lightbulb bulb on and off repeatedly (it overheats and breaks the bulb)
Since I want to do something different and we haven't seen much of the New Republic Army yet, I'm going for a planetary assault oriented taskforce. It could achieve space superiority and then deploy and support a fully mechanized division for planetary operations in order to deal with stubborn imperial garrisons and fortifications. Task Force Liberation -Starhawk class Battleship "Liberation" ----36 X-wings, 24 Fang-class fighters and 12 B-wings + 7,500 ground troops -2 New Republic cruisers (the new ones from Ahsoka) -----We don't know how many fighters they can carry, but I'm going to assume that two cruisers are equivalent to the Starhaw but with fewer ground troops, probably just starship security, so 36 X-wings, 24 Fang-class fighters and 12 Y-wings. -5 ShaShore-class frigates, one of them would be modified as an hospital ship ----Each one has a capacity for 24 fighters + 2 shuttles and 250 troops. The hospital would go full shuttles. In total I would go for 36 X-wings, 24 Fang-class, 24 B-wings and 12 Y-wings. -8 Crusader-class corvettes for anti-starfighter duties -2 CR-90 corvettes modified for orbital support. We are not going for Base Delta Base tactics, we're the New Republic after all, but calling some turbolaser barrage over some stubborn fortification is always useful. -As for the carrier, since I think I have plenty of starfighters, I would go for an Acclamator-class assault ship in order to deploy the bulk of my ground forces to the ground, around 16,000 soldiers and support personnel. My full starfighter complement would be: 108 X-wings as my space superiority fighters, 72 Fang-class as interceptors, 36 B-wings for anti-capital duties and 24 Y-wings for close air support. And I have a full division with 24,500 soldiers on the ground, with Juggernauts, T2-B Repulsor Tanks for infantry support, AATs as Main Battle Tanks, A-A5 trucks for transporting infantry, AT-RTs and Arrow-23 landspeeder for recon, finally some artillery. A force equivalent to 2 stormtroopers legions.
Base delta zero is the Glassing of total planets with Many Star destroyers , 2 CR90 Corvettes even with SPHAT artillery cannons cannot even do 1% of Base Delta Zero , but rest is Possible Maybe see my Task force Listing in the Newest comments 😅
It seems that Disney has finally found a way to add it to their canon. Well, at least they haven't screwed it up and made the ship powerful and unique😄
If I recall correctly, I do believe the main hangars are on the backside of the blade. While that's much better placement, I actually think they would be better served being either on the bottom part of the "neck" or in the forward-facing parts of the rear section. That still protects the fighters and they won't have to maneuver just to come to bear in combat.
My personal theory is that the Starhawk was designed and built so fast because it was actually designed BEFORE Endor. I think it is reasonable that at some point some Rebel engineers got together and theorized about what the Rebellion should do if they ended up in possession of a spaceton of ISD spare parts, which would be entirely plausible, given how much galactic industry was devoted to the ISD. They drew up the Starhawk plans, but there was never an opportunity to put them to use until after Endor. I also read the Starhawk's design as indicating a charging craft. The narrow profile focuses all enemy fire from the front on a pretty narrow area that has numerous overlapping shield generators, providing good protection. I feel like the Starhawk is capable of charging at an ISD, tanking its fire and then getting behind it (where its firepower is much weaker) and chewing it up with those side guns. As for names, in my own Canon-compatible stories, the New Republic did make a Starhawk II line in the decades before the Sequel Trilogy. Their naming convention followed the original set of "Concord," "Amity" and "Unity," but in languages other than Basic. Known Starhawks include "Ortanic," "Borhala" and "Corregidor." They generally deployed as the hammer in a large NR formation (such as one of the four Main Fleets) under the control of a command ship, usually an MC90 or MC85. Additional carrier support could come from an Endurance-class fleet carrier or a smattering of Quasar Sun light carriers. Cruiser support could be a mix of MC40s, Arquitens, Acclamators or the new ships from Ahsoka. Picket ships tend to be CR90 variants, Raider-class corvettes or various editions of the Nebulon.
Starhawk - the Deliverance. 2, MC-80s. 5, nebulon-B. 5 corellion gunships. 3 CR90 and 2 hammerhead corvettes. Oh and for a carrier it’d have to be a quasar, then as for starfighters I’m thinking a mix of Y-wings and A-wings, basic I know but without knowing the exact carry of all the listed ships I think that’d be a decent composition. It’s also long past bed time so idk how much I really know rn
Huge missed opportunity to not even so much as mention this ship class in live action yet. Hopefully it gets it's time to shine in a future project, I mean they brought in E-Wings so... lets get some Starhawks & K-Wings next time please.
Please no K-wings, sentiment aside they're ugly and uncompelling design. I'd rather see something new in the heavy bomber roll: a canon B-Wing mk2 or something descended from the arc-170 perhaps.
@@estherholt8060 I can literally use everything negative you said about the K-Wing and apply it to the E-Wing, yet they pulled that off very well in the official debut to canon. I fucking HATED E-wings in the EU, and thought they looked like complete shit. At least the K-Wing has design similarities to some of the bombers featured in the early Wing Commander games, and I think even their EU design is a lot more compelling than an E-Wing. But somehow, ILM made it look cool here. They can definitely do that with the K-Wing as well.
@@cd5sircoupeI always thought the E-Wing we first saw in the Dark Empire comics looked like a cross between an x-wing and a Colonial viper from Battlestar Galactica, and not in a good way .
That was the smaller prototype and less powerful prototype, the version we see most of the time is the 2.4km version which has a hanger in the middle of it
Got to the end of the video, having played with the Starhawk with the Canon option in Thrawn's Revenge and seeing it's capabilities I love it's multirole capability as a battleship Starhawk name: Thunderchild 2 escort cruisers: 2 Assault Frigates MK2 5 escort Frigates: 3 quasar carriers, 2 MC40c 10 corvettes: 5 CR90s and 5 DP20s
Reminds me of the earth alliance nova class battle ship. Nothing wrong with launching fighters from the front of ship that why we have deflector shields❤ great video as always
This text will be filled to the brim with spelling mistakes as it is 4 am and I havent slept for more than a couple hours in the last few days The big ass tractor beam as a main weapon makes much more sense now knowing that it has a heavy assortment of weapons. If think as a captain the idea woulnt be to pull your enemy just for the lols, but to actually lock them in place as they recive a shit ton of heavy fire and cant reposition themselves to avoid the strenght of a foward facing starhawk, given that the front of the ship looks to be heavily reinforced and there are very few weapons that could deal any sort of considerable damage to it. As for my own starhawk I think I would call it the Diathim as an homage to the angels of Iego. As for my fleet I would favor fast moving ships as the main use for this ship should be not prolonged skirmishes but a classic rebel run and gun strategy, arriving fast, dealing damage and moving out. So I would favor mon calamary cruisers for their heavy shields that would protect me from any kind of ambush taht seeks to take advantage of the exposed sides and as far as I remember they have a decent amount of point defense turrets to repel enemy starfighters. As for my frigates the munificent class works perfectly with my idea for the use of the starhawk, as they have really impressive front facing weaponary, have a decent amount of front facing armor, are small targets, and would help me tear down any capital ship I managed to hold with my tractor beam. I would avoid any kind of heavy carrier ships to keep my fleet mobile, the venator is a classic but I cant really use it effectively as I would leave it in the back of the formation to protect it as it is kind of a fragile ship when taking fire with its hangar open. A better choice would be the harrower class, even though at the time it would be thousands of years old I could retrofit some better shields and weapons and deploy my fighters safely from it's front and side hangars, as well as being smaller and more manaegeble than a full size star destroyer like the venator. And for the corvets I would have to have at least a couple gr 75 just beacause I can and I know for a fact that nothing short of the Executor will take them down. For the rest the CR90 is a tried and proved ship that would remain very mobile during the skirmish dealing damage to enemy ships that would have to choose between fighting my main ships or trying to get rid of the fast moving like some sort of anoying mosquito. And the name of the fleet itself would be the Anaheim Incursion fleet as an homage to both gundam and the galaxy's edge park in California
🤔 . . . I think there must’ve been a misunderstanding about there being a hanger in the front. Its very likely that its more of a landing bay for whatever the weaponized tractor beams capture, while the launch bay is basically downstairs & such…
Don't forget the "scalloped hallways". Wendig was very adamant we knew about those, rather than size or armament, or a description beyond "hatchet faced"
Straight up, it’s a battleship-a ship whose purpose is to stand up to Battle other ships. This is actually pretty unique in Star Wars where ships are usually built around a strategic (rather than operational) need. It’s always cruisers (, “star Destroyers” (littoral combat ships on steroids), frigates (commerce protection). Ironically the other ship that arises from the similar operational need (kinda) is the corvette. Which has a “yep, it’s a ship” by-line. For when you need (a ship).
Ah, so that's what the Starhawk looks like! Been mildly curious about the ship's details (considering it brought down a Super Star Destroyer,) but hadn't had a chance to actually look into it properly. The specialized tractorbeam being setup to block the fighter bay seems like a rather concerning design flaw, honestly. I don't mind it being built from re-purposed ISD scraps (which imo is a far better outcome than merely outright scrapping so many useful capital ships,) but it's definitely a bit gimmicky - all things considered. Still, not the worst thing SW has churned out in terms of ship design. I'd say the Aggressor/Krayt-class Destroyer takes that title personally: because a large starship that's literally just two big, forward-mounted cannons is beyond-terrible for anything other than attacking larger space stations, or orbital bombardments. Most other potential targets would be more than capable of moving out of the way, or are simply too small to accurately hit. Plus, the Eclipse-class SSDs already did the same concept infinitely better, and had more features than just "very big gun." Let's be real here. Lol
As far as the hangar goes, I think it would actually be really useful if those six emitters could be focused separately and at lower strength to either lauch fighters more effectively, or recover damaged or capure enemy ones
I don't think the main hangar is meant to be in the center of the tractor generators; you can see from the Starfighter footage that the center lights up as well, likely being the "focusing" beam projector. (I think the oval a ways above the projectors is the hangar- though I agree, the fighters should not be launched fore.)
One thing I wonder looking at this battle ship is whether it's possible to use the gravity canon in reverse to propel other ships (either larger ones or fighters exiting the hanger...although those might not survive such a tactic) forward rapidly in order to outflank enemy ships and/or keep them distracted to set up the Starhawk's offensive capabilities. Never seen any sort of context to imply that a tractor beam could work in such a way, but that would be one of those big-brain tactics if such a thing was possible.
1 Star Hawk the Titan 1 carrier updated Lucrehulk (honesty this & a star hawk & I’m set lol) 2 MC 80 cruisers (or two updated Venetors) 5 CR 90’s & 5 Raider Class Corvettes 2 MC 30 frigates- nice anti capital ship & anti swarm capabilities. 3 upgraded Recusant destroyers/ frigates… the expendables, low crew cost, easily repairable/ replaceable, good ramming ships. My fighter compliment alone will fill the imperials with nightmares.
I think a forward hanger with a squadron of x wings or a wings as a rapid response hanger always on standby makes sense, and the size of the forward hangar does not look capable of carrying six squadrons so id assume there are multiple hangers in the ship similar to home one or an isd
I personally am of the opinion that the NR defence fleet post reduction in size is still pretty sizeable. The NR reduced its number of capital ships from whatever total they had/were going to have when completed to what it is now, and I’d say that it would probably be around 200 capital ships based on how quickly the NR militarised and captured shipyards here. Out of those 200 cap ships, I imagine that there would be around 20 starhawks, simply due to their size and general power they’d have limited production, with only new starhawks coming off the line to possibly replace ageing ones. these ships would possibly be ones you’d have stationed at important shipyards or planets like coruscant or hosnian prime etc. but then that poses another question: what did those fleets looks like? And how many? well I have a slight idea/theory. the NR would probably divide the total number of starhawks and other capital ships to multiple near endor sized fleets (maybe slightly bigger) with maybe 10 starhawks in the home fleet defending the capital and a few dozen other capital ships alongside frigates and corvettes, resulting in a fleet slightly larger in terms of capital ship/support ship numbers but with vastly greater firepower. Outside the home fleet, the remaining 10 could be divided up between two fleets of slightly smaller size compared to the home fleet stationed at places like corellia and mon cala. I so love to theorise and until I get concrete source books or statements saying otherwise, I’ll stick to this idea. It’s not as thoroughly explained as I’d like it to be because I’m still waking up, but I’d love to believe this is how it would be based on what we see and hear somewhat.
I'd be tempted to call it "The hammer" Its a fitting name for the shape of the ship and it's role. But it would also mostly be meant as a reminder to myself, that not every problem is a nail, and so the hammer isn't always the correct call, and it would be a mistake to flaunt the hammer all the time and neglect the rest of my fleet like the empire did. I'd rely on keeping the hammer in reserve and out of sight, using it as a bit more of a home for my forces than soelthing nthay goed out hunting pirates and facing everything head-on, and try to appear to enemies as just a small fleet consisting of my escorts. Hopefully i then get underestimated and i can hit a woefully unadequkte force wirh "Hammertime"
It really does look like it has enough "hexagonal shaped openings" in the back side of the blade portion that it would be easy to say those are hangar bays, I agree, I wouldn't want to be a fighter pilot trying to launch with potentially a super weapon-grade tractor beam all around me.
I would really love to see a new maneuver using two starhawks in tandem to effectively pull apart an enemy capital ship-imagine thinking you have the upper hand only to have a second starhawk jump BEHIND you and to physically rip a remnant destroyer in half. Lots of opportunities for cool stuff there with the new republic being much better outfitted than the rebels who faced off against the original big empire navy.
Starhawk has enough point defense and excellent fighters to not really need heavy anti-fighter escort, maybe throw 4 lancers and call it a day. In a rebel fleet I'd go for Nebulon-B's due to their heavy versality and added anti-capitalship weapons. Something deadly and mobile would benefit greatly from Starhawk's main weapon, lifting bows of enemy ships to expose usually weaker underside to fast units like strike cruisers or assault frigate mk1s. From imperial units ISD-II would be a great partner to a starhawk, bringing in insane capitalship firepower. a pair of Victory-II ISDs would work just as well, while probably having it easier to use Starhawk as a meat shield
For me, I’m going with an ISD, cuz there is no reason to throw away a perfectly good Star Destroyer and cuz I’m legends only. ISD’s Name: Vigilance Cruisers: 2 Victory-class Frigates: 4 Strike-class, 1 Imperial Nebulon-B (see EC Henry’s design) Corvettes: 6 Raiders, 4 Crusaders Carrier: Venator
Starhawk "Phoenix of Rhen Var" Carrier: Liberation (Kota's Venator) Cruiser: Assault Frigate MK1a (Vanguard type) Assault Frigate MK1b (Twinblade type) 2 neb-Cs 1 MC30c 2 of the new things 3 Ninkas (+upgrades) 4 DP20s 1 corellian interdictor boat 2 CR110 (the beefy one from EC Henry) Freakin lot of E-Wings
My star would be named The Endeavor To Redemption. A task force formed by a clone wars veteran Arisa Nersaka who defected from the imperial navy after the destruction of the first death star. Her task force consists of a star hawk, a revived venator class star destroyer, two dreadnought class heavy cruises, and two CR90's.
I really like the design but I think replacing the "chin" engines near the front with a rear facing hanger would be cool. Though, admittedly, if the engines, forward and aft, can operate independently, the Starhawk has a pretty great propulsion redundancy.
I'd call my Star-Hawk "The Pull of Destiny". My fleet would consist of 2 Interdictor Class Star Destroyers, 5 Gladiator Class Star Destroyers, 10 Raider II Class Corvettes, and 1 Onager Class Star Destroyer
To me, the starkhawk, has a bit of a continuation of the hammerhead design of the old republic to mw, that served the old republic for thousand of years. Plus it is a battleship, without any weaknesses unlike an ISD, that is able to happily get up and close and duke it out with enemy capital ships. As well as hold off enemy fighters attack without really breaking a sweat, unless confronted by overwhelming force.
My Fleet with the Starhawk as my Flagship would be: Starhawk's Name: Sabaton Escort Cruisers: 2 Acclamator-class assault ships Escort Frigates: 2 EF76 Nebulon-Bs and 3 Arquitens-class light cruisers Corvettes: 5 CR90 corvettes and 5 Raider II-class corvettes Carrier: 1 Venator-class star destroyer
man i hope we see one on screen soon in season 2 of ahsoka when we get that season i think i name my starhawk phoenix 1 my support fleet would be 1 nebulon b 4 cr90 quasar for my a wing and 2 gr75 and 2 of the new republic cruiser
Here's my starhawk and it's fleet. All the ships have names because why not? Starhawk - Sanguine Dawn escort cruisers: 2 MC80 Liberty class - the Dauntless, and the Bulwark escort frigates: 2 nebulon b's - the Liberator and theHorizon, 2 Lancer class - the Tempest and the Hurricane, 1 Pelta-Class - the Redeemer corvettes: 4 Hammerhead Corvettes - the Stargazer, the Enigma, the Typhoon, and the Defiance - and 6 CR90 Corvettes - the Paramount, the Bastion, the Antioch, the Hummingbird, the Fortitude, and the Valor carrier: Venator Class Star Destroyer - the Pathfinder
Starhawk: The "Flarestar"
Escort Cruisers: x2 MC75, Dauntless-class, Liberator-class, or Vesper-type
Escort Frigates: x2 MC40, x2 Dreadnought-class or Assault Frigate Mk.1 (not Mk.2 because that is one ugly ship and I refuse to have ugly ships in my fleet.), and x1 CC-7700.
Escort Corvettes: x4 DP-20, x2 Braha'tok, x2 Hammerhead Corvettes, and x2 Arquitens-class (if available, if not a pair of Lothalian Corvettes will do).
Yeah, I'm not sure how he made such a mistake since he played the game that actually shows all of that up close.
@@Macky4941 I can understand that one might assume that a fan-made mod for a game might not be entirely canonically representative, and there are some features of that EAW model that are off.
Was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it

@@Macky4941Eh, it's really hard to get close when you are attacking the Starhawk, and you are pressed for time when you are escorting it.
First thing we know: Probably the coolest Rebellion/Canon New Republic era ship
Well if we account its legends predecessor the Gravestone that kind of ship has been around for thousands of years maybe the generic star hawk is smaller and cheaper
@@michaelandreipalon359SWTOR is part of _Star Wars Legends_ , whether you like it or not.
Would still pick the nebular class over it 😅 (but i dont belive its cannon)
Something that immediately stood out to me was that the overall design of the Starhawk closely resembles that of the Gravestone from SW:TOR. The forward facing hull blades in particular.
The Starhawk would be the perfect ship to use against Thrawn in the Dave Filoni movie. That combined with several Squadrons of E-Wings would make me die of happiness
That'd be sick if it happens
There’s…there’s no way “the main hangar is in the middle of the tractor beam”
There’s a TON of slots in the back of the blade and the sides of the superstructure that could easily / seem to be implied to be hangers
I think eck was wrong as the another commenter said that wasn't the official model design of the starhawk i will have to go and play squadrons again and see if the hangars there
In Squadrons it's on the back side... That main opening is part of the super weapon.
I have one of the Armada Starhawks and it is amazingly detailed! So glad I was able to get one before the game started being produced less and less.
Did you see the new errata and points update? Seems like they're starting to focus on the game again based on that news drop.
The Form reminds me a lot of the Gravestone from SWTOR every time I look at it.
Squadrons’ campaign is really one of the most underrated on-screen Star Wars stories out there. It’s not perfect, or even great, but it’s pretty cool
Star Hawk: Peacemaker
2 Victory II class cruisers
3 Nebulon-B (2 up armored, 1 support config) and 2 Corona
5 Corellian Corvetts and 5 CR-90’s
Finally a Quasar for additional Fighters/bombers support and starship repair or Assault craft (depending on the mission)
2:29 “Can stand against any ship, Even the fearsome super star destroyer” I can buy it, they can hold the Executor clsss off with their shields and weapon systems for at least a period of sustained fire. Compared to like, the Endurance which got bodied by the Megador instantky
Yea that doesn't sound like it means they can *beat* it, just that it's not like an ISD rocking up on a Corvette. They can put up a fight
I used to love running the Turducken in Armada: Start with nothing but Starhawk with Raddus as admiral which later deployed the Profundity which itself then deployed a Hammerhead or GR-75s with bombers. It wasn’t good but it was fun 😂
Glad to see it used in Corey's mod, would love to see it in the AOTR mod
Which mood is it in?
This better be in live action or animation
TTHXthat even in sw is just a bullshit weapon

Reminds me of the Gravestone from SWTOR.
Looks very similar to the Gravestone from SWTOR with a tractor beam rather than an omnicannon.
You know, the Starhawk kinda looks like the Gravestone from Swtor
Thank you! I saw the same thing and was surprised it wasn't mentioned.
I just had a idea with Repulsor and tractor beams I wonder if you could theoretically switch between the two cut through a ship pushing and pulling on the structure id imagine standing in the ship would feel like a paint mixer shaking everything apart
There's a weapon in another sci-fi universe that's basically this, I forgot what it was tho
@@InvictusMatrix The "rattler" weapon from James White's Hospital Station book series.
Task Force Liberation
-Starhawk class Battleship "Liberation"
----36 X-wings, 24 Fang-class fighters and 12 B-wings + 7,500 ground troops
-2 New Republic cruisers (the new ones from Ahsoka)
-----We don't know how many fighters they can carry, but I'm going to assume that two cruisers are equivalent to the Starhaw but with fewer ground troops, probably just starship security, so 36 X-wings, 24 Fang-class fighters and 12 Y-wings.
-5 ShaShore-class frigates, one of them would be modified as an hospital ship
----Each one has a capacity for 24 fighters + 2 shuttles and 250 troops. The hospital would go full shuttles. In total I would go for 36 X-wings, 24 Fang-class, 24 B-wings and 12 Y-wings.
-8 Crusader-class corvettes for anti-starfighter duties
-2 CR-90 corvettes modified for orbital support.
Base delta zero is the Glassing of total planets with Many Star destroyers , 2 CR90 Corvettes even with SPHAT artillery cannons cannot even do 1% of Base Delta Zero , but rest is Possible
Maybe see my Task force Listing in the Newest comments 😅
Reminds me of the gravestone from the swtor
It seems that Disney has finally found a way to add it to their canon. Well, at least they haven't screwed it up and made the ship powerful and unique😄
If I recall correctly, I do believe the main hangars are on the backside of the blade. While that's much better placement, I actually think they would be better served being either on the bottom part of the "neck" or in the forward-facing parts of the rear section. That still protects the fighters and they won't have to maneuver just to come to bear in combat.
Really an awesome Battle Ship. That’s for sure
Every time Star Wars: Armada is mentioned I am happy!
Kinda looks like a cleaned up modernized Gravestone
Tell me again why we didn’t see this ship in Ahsoka?
It'd be interesting to see how Thrawn will deal with the Starhawks.
Yay, spacebar gunboats!
Yeah, that gravity beam opening is not a hangar.
I love this capital ship so much. It fits the Rebellion/New Republic perfectly.
5:06 Eck- that was the the main tractor beam, you even fly down the shaft in Star Wars Squadrons in the Imperial mission to destroy it.
That was the smaller prototype and less powerful prototype, the version we see most of the time is the 2.4km version which has a hanger in the middle of it
Got to the end of the video, having played with the Starhawk with the Canon option in Thrawn's Revenge and seeing it's capabilities I love it's multirole capability as a battleship
Starhawk name: Thunderchild
2 escort cruisers: 2 Assault Frigates MK2
5 escort Frigates: 3 quasar carriers, 2 MC40c
10 corvettes: 5 CR90s and 5 DP20s
I think the forward hanger serves as a secondary one. Being used primarily for enemy ships to be trapped in with the tractor beams.
Similarities between the Starhawk and the Gravestone?
Reminds me of the earth alliance nova class battle ship. Nothing wrong with launching fighters from the front of ship that why we have deflector shields❤ great video as always
This text will be filled to the brim with spelling mistakes as it is 4 am and I havent slept for more than a couple hours in the last few days
The big ass tractor beam as a main weapon makes much more sense now knowing that it has a heavy assortment of weapons.
I hope we get to see it in the upcoming movie
🤔 . . . I think there must’ve been a misunderstanding about there being a hanger in the front. Its very likely that its more of a landing bay for whatever the weaponized tractor beams capture, while the launch bay is basically downstairs & such…
The Starhawk has more then this front hangar. The fighter hangars are on the the other side of the Blade section, above the auxilary thrusters.
Also love how they decided to scrap old ships which makes sense to turn into a battleship with a giant tractor beam cool.
Don't forget the "scalloped hallways". Wendig was very adamant we knew about those, rather than size or armament, or a description beyond "hatchet faced"
It looks like the gravestone from swtor
Also resembles the Gravestone from swtor (Starhawk being an inspiration for it?)
Good question
Straight up, it’s a battleship-a ship whose purpose is to stand up to Battle other ships.
This is actually pretty unique in Star Wars where ships are usually built around a strategic (rather than operational) need. It’s always cruisers (, “star Destroyers” (littoral combat ships on steroids), frigates (commerce protection). Ironically the other ship that arises from the similar operational need (kinda) is the corvette. Which has a “yep, it’s a ship” by-line. For when you need (a ship).
It looks epic
I can’t wait to see this in live action.
Kinda looks like a newer Gravestone from the Old Republic
I have the SW Armada model and it’s beautiful

I don't think the main hangar is meant to be in the center of the tractor generators; you can see from the Starfighter footage that the center lights up as well, likely being the "focusing" beam projector. (I think the oval a ways above the projectors is the hangar- though I agree, the fighters should not be launched fore.)

Right now i think not
One thing I wonder looking at this battle ship is whether it's possible to use the gravity canon in reverse to propel other ships (either larger ones or fighters exiting the hanger...although those might not survive such a tactic) forward rapidly in order to outflank enemy ships and/or keep them distracted to set up the Starhawk's offensive capabilities.
Never seen any sort of context to imply that a tractor beam could work in such a way, but that would be one of those big-brain tactics if such a thing was possible.
The hangar is aft and not forward where the tractor beam is.

Do you plan on doing a video on the Scourge anytime soon?
star wars armada mentioned :D
Okay, but why does it look like the Gravestone from the Old Republic?
I'd be tempted to call it "The hammer"
Its a fitting name for the shape of the ship and it's role.
I'd probably name them after notable figures who opposed the Empire such as the "Bale Organa" for example.
The Starhawk is so alluring isn't it?... It just pulls you in....
Name: Pusher Man ("I said god damn, the pusher man")
- 2 Escort Cruisers : Harrower
- 5 Escort Frigates: Dreadnaught-Class
-10 Corvettes: 6 Raiders, 4 Vigil-class
1 Carrier: Venator
Where is the gameplay from? I recognize the cinematic from Squadrons but is the RTS gameplay an EaW mod?
An Empire at War mod, Thrawn's Revenge.
Starhawk: get over here!
From imperial units ISD-II would be a great partner to a starhawk, bringing in insane capitalship firepower. a pair of Victory-II ISDs would work just as well, while probably having it easier to use Starhawk as a meat shield
it flys boom
I must say, I am really impressed to the New Republics commitment to recycling.
For me, I’m going with an ISD, cuz there is no reason to throw away a perfectly good Star Destroyer and cuz I’m legends only.
ISD’s Name: Vigilance
Cruisers: 2 Victory-class
Frigates: 4 Strike-class, 1 Imperial Nebulon-B (see EC Henry’s design)
Corvettes: 6 Raiders, 4 Crusaders
Carrier: Venator
Starhawk "Phoenix of Rhen Var"
Carrier: Liberation (Kota's Venator)
Cruiser: Assault Frigate MK1a (Vanguard type)
Assault Frigate MK1b (Twinblade type)
2 neb-Cs
1 MC30c
2 of the new things
3 Ninkas (+upgrades)
4 DP20s
1 corellian interdictor boat
2 CR110 (the beefy one from EC Henry)
Freakin lot of E-Wings
The hangers are on the back of the blade per the Squadrons game.
It's basically a new republic gravestone
My Fleet with the Starhawk as my Flagship would be:
Starhawk's Name: Sabaton
Escort Cruisers: 2 Acclamator-class assault ships
Escort Frigates: 2 EF76 Nebulon-Bs and 3 Arquitens-class light cruisers
Corvettes: 5 CR90 corvettes and 5 Raider II-class corvettes
Carrier: 1 Venator-class star destroyer
man i hope we see one on screen soon in season 2 of ahsoka when we get that season i think i name my starhawk phoenix 1 my support fleet would be 1 nebulon b 4 cr90 quasar for my a wing and 2 gr75 and 2 of the new republic cruiser
Fighter bay in the front? Drawing inspiration of B5's Omega Destroyers?
Here's my starhawk and it's fleet. All the ships have names because why not?
Starhawk - Sanguine Dawn
escort cruisers: 2 MC80 Liberty class - the Dauntless, and the Bulwark
escort frigates: 2 nebulon b's - the Liberator and theHorizon, 2 Lancer class - the Tempest and the Hurricane, 1 Pelta-Class - the Redeemer
corvettes: 4 Hammerhead Corvettes - the Stargazer, the Enigma, the Typhoon, and the Defiance - and 6 CR90 Corvettes - the Paramount, the Bastion, the Antioch, the Hummingbird, the Fortitude, and the Valor
carrier: Venator Class Star Destroyer - the Pathfinder
Very fun to run in Armada it dwarfs everything and yes it can in fact step to an SSD
