If you are starting out and want to experience Star Citizen to the fullest, the Aegis Avenger Titan is without a shadow of a doubt; the BEST starter choice.
@@mattranze for mining you will need a dedicated mining ship or vehicle. For hand mining, which is the starting spot for mining, sure it can help get you into caves and whatnot due to its size. But only the mole and prospector are mining ships for quant mining
how to aquire a free fully manned hammerhead : step one : take a small inexpensive fast ship step two : take a gun and an oxytorch (and don't forget your helmet to breath in space) step three : take an ERT mission step four : fly next to the hammerhead step five : eject (with the ejection seat, your ship MUST be equipped with one, an avenger titan has it for example) at this point the hammerhead will stop firing because when you eject your ship is self-destroyed. step six : boarding time yarr, take out your oxytorch and go to the front door, depending of the current game patch you can sometimes open at least the first two doors by getting close to them (really close sometimes) and using the F+click to open it, the third door HAS to be opened by an oxytorch (will take few seconds) step seven : go to the first front door you see and take the elevator step eight : kill the pilot in the seat step nine : now you have a FREE hammerhead with ALL it's turrets active and NPC's inside. once captured, the NPC's will actually behave as if you were their leader, they won't attack friendly ships unless they attack you and they will ALWAYS attack ships in red (players or NPC's). you can also do hammerhead vs hammerhead fights with it or maybe try to go against the Idris. and no, you can't keep it.
To me one of the best all around and completely overlooked ship is the Origin 125a: it fits where a Pisces does, can land on a towel, can be spawn at mining posts, carries cargo, doesn't have a ramp that can break, it is easy to use for EVA, lacks any animation to get inand out, doesn't needs stairs, has a bed, it is incredibly fast at 230kps in atmosphere, has storage for loot, it's among the most nimble ship in the game, up there with the Arrow and the Gladius, has 2 S3 weapons with decent capacitors and a plethora of quite powerful missiles, has very good components stock, can fly forever as it makes it's own hydrogen fuel and has larger then ordinary quantum fuel tanks (only the 315p does better, but it's a bigger ship). There are undoubtedly better ship to do specialized mission, but none that can be recycled, doing literally everything, and when a wipe hits the verse, this is the ship you want to earn enough aUEC to refit your fleet components and weapons.
Respawning for the Carrack is not going away. It has a Tier 2 medical bed, which CIG has said does have regeneration properties, based on ship. The Carrack and 600i included, as they are exploration ships. The Apollo will also have regeneration, using tier 2 beds. This is the only time CIG has ever said that a tier bed would lose respawn capabilites, and it's in regard to Tier 3 beds and the Cutlass Red: ua-cam.com/video/enePky-iO0c/v-deo.html And again in this video: Nobody ever mentioned anything about T2 beds: ua-cam.com/video/f47-lobg1_c/v-deo.html
@@LevelCapGaming I think you are actually right here cap, last I heard, T2 will also eventually lose respawn capabilities- BUT you will be able to drag a corpse back to the T2 medical facility to revive them. It won't be a spawn point, but still very useful down the line.
Yeh, IIRC...Tier 2 beds will retain regeneration...however they will only "stabilize" serious injuries for people who don't die. These stabilized patients would then need transported to a proper hospital with a Tier 1 bed to heal and reverse said injury.
When i try the Free tourist week (invictus) with the anvil c8x i just loved it so much that i have to buy it (45€, kind of cheap for what the game propose i think ), that thing is waaay more versatile that what i was prepare myself , and i call it now the Anvil Toyota.
I think the Nomad should have been in the list: it's a small pad ship with 24 SCU, a bed and and a kitchen and a bathroom; it can take a ROC for mining and it has a utility slot that comes with a tractor beam.
Cutty Black will also have tractor beam(s) when they become available too though. Nomad would be ok for someone looking at ROC mining from the get go with little to no desire to do combat missions, haul cargo or have a friend join them etc - it sits inbetween the Titan and the Cutlass imo with what it can do.
Cutlass and freelancer are pretty close together. I like to say the Cutlass is more offensive while the Freelancer is more defensive. One has the forward firing turret while the other has twice the shields and a rear firing turret.
Good list. It's funny... I have most of the big, fancy expensive ships, entirely earned in game and there's nothing like pulling out a ship to get fully crewed with your buddies. HOWEVER, I find that I mostly use the Pisces, Nomad and Cutlass above all others, simply because they got fast expedition times, they're easy to get in and out of and you can just chuck stuff in the back with a tractor beam and shoot off again. Simple, fast and cheap is most definitely best!!!
I also just wanna give the Avenger Titan, this; it has two points of entry for extremely quick entering or exiting. The fold out ladder is so nice for just eliminating the wait for the doors to open since you normally would have to go through 3. It is a wonder quality of life feature that I wish some other ships had.
so many more ships need this. MSR in particular stands out as a ship that desperately needs another entry point (not the bug where you teleport through the windscreen!)
Back when the Pisces was released, I got one as a LTI-Token, but right after the first flight it was clear to me that I'll keep that little fish around. It's such an awesome daily driver
Sshhh, don’t tell anybody. Most people have no idea how amazing the Defender is, and I’m happy to keep it that way and leave them to go on about the Gladius and Arrow ;)
I love how when the Dragonfly was dropped out of the Cutty it transitioned as soon as it got close to the ground. I love your videos Level, keep up the awesome work
All solid picks. My Cutty Black and Constellation Andromeda get the most milage usually. I love my C2! It's not only good for cargo and ground vehicles, but you can also carry snub sized ships in it too like the Merlin/Pisces/Auruoa/Argo MPUV, or a gang with hoverbikes. The Mercury Star Runner is a nice ship; All the Crusader ships are pretty nice. One thing I always remind players of is rent ships and ask around because some of us lend out ships were not using at the time. Each spaceport has rental kiosks with various selections. The Mining supply store on all the space stations that have refining decks also rent the ROC ground miner, Cutlass Black to carry it, and the Prospector IIRC. The Hammerhead is actually pretty good for group mission grinding for 7-8 players.
I wonder if Level Cap or one of the editors will see this. I feel like this video would have really benefited from a bulleted breakdown per ship. Something like... - Name - Ship Type - Price - Max Occupancy - Cargo Capacity - Default Weapon Loadout - Shield Strength - 1-2 recommendations on what to upgrade. I'm just so lost being a new player and some of the prices, capacity, and occupancy were left out or too vague.
@That Design Guy. I am waiting for CIG to release a carrier with the following benefits: - A Minimum operation occupancy of one; so, that I can solo with it. - Carrier, 'carries' enough quantum fuel to effectively make jumps; when CIG finally releases star systems, that are significantly larger than Stanton. - Two size three shields, along with heavy armor, to survive hostile encounters. - Remote and bladed turrets, so that I can leave my carrier in the vacuum of space; while, I make some dough doing mercenary / bounty hunting / termination missions. - Has a hangar, that can accommodate a size two (small) ship; plus, a storage area for another size two ship. - Said hangar also comes with auto repairing, rearming, and refueling capabilities. - Livable space, for those who need to stay in space for prolong periods of time. - Nice interior architecture, for that home away from home feeling; so, THAT I CAN AVOID SLEEPING ANYWHERE in Ruin station. I mean come on, that place looks like a giant space shitter... but then again, so does Grim Hex. - ATLEAST, a Tier 2 MedBed. Would love a tier 1, for those moments where I may prematurely explode, while bounty hunting in my gladius or eclipse. - Cargo space, for my extra armaments and fuel. - and last, but not least, I want to be able to name my ship. Now I know what you're probably thinking, I just described the 890 Jump. What I was actually talking about was the Banu Merchantman. I wonder if 890 Jump owners and Banu Merchantman owners will be getting into feuds; because, 890 Jump owners have to make room for the new space whales.
@@gamesmaster1060 It's one hell of an impressive tech demo if you can call it that... People forget what they currently have already realised is quite insane. And €45 is certainly justified. While it is somewhat lacking in gameplay options, the scenery alone no matter where you go is breathtaking and worth the price by itself. And people are spending hundreds of hours in the game and actively enjoying it, even in it's current non optimized state and incomplete state.
when I was a bit younger my Dad said, "here if you really want to try star citizen then do some bounty hunting missions," then he shown me the basic controls; by the way at this time he owned the Aegis Eclipse, so I went on to try some bounty missions and I wiped the floor with the bounties, I was so happy. Also I used his thrustmaster Throttle stick and the main directional yoke stick
I thought this was gonna be a joke about how long SC is taking to come out because of the whole "My dad showed me when I was younger". But nope, we've really been waiting so long it's becoming generational XD
The redeemer is my favorite small crew combat ship. The firepower and durability for it's size is insane. 2 size 3 shield generators, which is the same as the Hammerhead, two large turrets on the top and bottom both sporting 2 size 5 gatlings by default, (swapped mine out for laser canons until 3.18 when ballistics get beefed up). 2 size 4 dedicated pilot controlled guns, and 2 size 3 guns on the forward remote turret which can also be controlled by the pilot if no one is using that seat and a remotely controlled tailgun if you roll a 4 man crew. Increadible hull durability, and for all it's tankiness and firepower, it has a small profile. It shreds anything that is stupid enough to get in front of it. xD If you wanna do group ERTs, there are few ships more practical.
@@CB-oh5mmI can't wait either! I typically mine and then sell in the MSR but I would run regular mission if I didn't have to go through that ungodly long time from cockpit to exit.
All they have to do is speed up the damned internal doors, or expand the sensor arc, or, whatever. I love the MSR, but God damn those doors are too slow to react!
@@JasonVanPatten if im in the cargo hold and someone starts shooting the ship its game over baby. i might as well just run right out the cargo hold and fight them on foot. which is literally what I do. you cannot for the life of you reach that pilot seat if you need unless your already sitting in it.
from the moment they presented the Hercules Starlifter concept i was sold. Such a beautiful shape and for me the perfect ship to start the game with once there will be no wipes anymore, ever. the MSR was the frontrunner before the C2 for me but imho CIG botched the msr as far as interior layout goes and chonked the fuck out of it and put it on stilts to accomodate that ridiculous crawling space that no one will use. The ship could've been so elegant without it, having a bit larger spaces inside or, if not, then having a sleeker visual design.
Personally, for fighters, I prefer the Hornet every day of the week, specially the ghost playing alone. Not only you're detected when you're almost on top of your target, you have the enhanced resistance of the Anvil armor and you pack a more than decent punch, specially in the patches where CIG allows you to use the Turret platform of the Super Hornet rather than the S3 turret of the Ghost. 3x S3 + 2 x S2 on the turret can smoke any figther just with a medium decent burst.
game would be so good with NPCs on the turrets. i like the bigger ships but with all the bugs its so annoying and time consuming to get it rly going with a fully crewed player ship. sad that they cant implement NPC like in the npc ships .. that just shoot at red targets and autospawn in the ship turrets. easy and efficient.
NPCs for players to hire as crew is a plannet feature and will be in the game when the developers see it as ready for the implementation. Back in the day you could steal a hammer head fully crewed with NPCs and they would fire on whatever target you mark or if someone starts firing at you. This was back in the day when Microtech was just implemented
@Blake Childers One solution they had to multicrew ships and players logging off was that when a player goes to logg off the game his character would become an NPC in the ship incase one of his other friends where still logged into the game. This was a few years ago so they have probably worked on the fine tuning of this by now. But if they still looking at this it would be a solution to having friends who are casual gamers and only log on every once a week or month. Their NPC would still be tied to the ship and his character would goa round maintaining the ship etc.
I like the 325a. It looks awesome and does nice in missions. Saber Comet is also high on my list. Cant argue with Connie and Carrack being top tier though. Those ships are money making and fun making kings
Although I love my 325a very much, the long respawn time and tedious boarding animation are not friendly to new players who will usually lost ship in even MRT missions.
@@twitterchatbot8840 I like the animations. Also, not sure about long respawn time..what's it like 7 minutes, 2 if you expedite? Again, not a huge deal to me...a lot of ships take much longer.
Something missed under ships that are the best bang for the buck are the still in concept ships. Concept ships provide loaners which in most cases are worth more than the pledge ship alone. Also, concept ships are subject to extreme price hikes which might end up giving you a near even upgrade to a Carrack or higher. Top choice is currently the Endeavor which is scheduled to be the very last ship to be released. The loaner ships are the Cutlass Red ($135) and MISC Starfarer ($300). The Endeavor is the original concept price of $350 which you can do an overtime upgrade to for not much more than $100 added to a discounted starter package during the IAE event in November, and it'll be worth no less than 50% more when we finally get it in game.
Perfect list! These are the ships I fly daily. My C2, Sentinel, and Cutlas are my go to ships for just about everything. I do run VHRT’s often in my Gladius and Arrow as well just because they are just so fun to fly.
Love the C2, but I decided to upgrade it to the Anvil Liberator this fleet week =) Liberator is just so much more appealing to me ! can't wait to see it in-game! Great video btw.
Having three pads is awesome, it's too bad that CIG has been hinting that the Liberator won't have long term living accommodations, for when you need to stay in space for a long ass time; also players will have to bring repair equipment and materials, when their ships take damage, versus the ship having auto repair features.
@@sebastiancoar1991 That is why you have the endeavor parked at a far far away location =D I can easily see the Liberator being used by myself with the vulture + expanse on the pads to go on Salvage runs, then go back to my Endeavor and call it a day hehe
I only have four ships in my hangar so far since I've been playing for a month now in this game, these ships are Mustang Alpha (pledged), 325A Interceptor, Anvil Arrow and C8X Picis I can say they are all very fun and good ships to fly with.
Been playing for little over 2 weeks and the Mustang, Anvil Arrow, Prospector, Cutless Black, Avenger Titan. I tried PVP against someone with an Arrow but lost over 20 times 😭
Been watching you for years now, you always have the best informational and well put together videos. I would love to see a video about the worst ships. Keep up all the great work
Excellent choices and great addition on secondaries for roles mentioned. Every one of these picks are absolutely great ships for the exact uses you mentioned them for. Great video. Great list. Great job.
Cutty Black is imo the best value buy for starters if you are willing to invest a couple of bills. Pair that with a ROC and you are set to snowball in aeuc, opening the door to more ingame stuff.
Player: *Opens door and glitches ROC between the glitchy ramp and the glitchy surface of the planet* . *The VTOL thrusters then mysteriously detonate, without warning* .
This right here folks, is the ultimate, no nonsense, de-facto current best ship list for Star Citizen. I agree whole heartily with his choices. This was spot on acute and logical. Through and through.
Two ships that I'll always, always own (and incidentally, two I no longer own on pledge): Pisces and Cutlass Black. Both are among the most useful ships, not just at their tier but at any point in progression, and both are absolute steals in-game.
You nailed the meta ships. And I am so happy that you said that these ships are not the end all be all and that there are so many other ships out there for everyone's preference. (That sentence was too long lol) Always appreciate the vids brother!
Dude... I'm so glad you didn't overlook the Pisces. That has to be the most underrated ship in the game at this point. What makes the Pisces great is just how absolutely average it is. Where average is usually a weakness the Pisces makes it a strength. No matter what you throw at this little ship while it won't excel at anything it will get you through it. It's a dependable little workhorse and that's exactly what you sometimes need out there in a hostile Universe. It's a really great and criminally overlooked little ship! Edit: Oh... and it has definite "Star Trek Shuttle" vibes. You can't get much cooler than that.
So funny to see you've also grown so fond of the Pisces! I have so many other ships to chose from, but found myself even doing XenoThreat and ninetails in my Pisces. I bought a couple of them in game because they're just so cheap. With the last free fly, I upgraded my Argo referral bonus to the Pisces for barely 10 bucks. Now, due to the ship duplication bug, I have ended up with 20 of them
Little update to this you can now get the C8R "Rescue" Pisces which I'd say is one of THE best small ships in the game to start with, you have on board storage, a medical bed AND it can carry water/med supplies in a cabinet..we all know how much we forget food/water
Thank you for this video, based on it I finally got into star citizen and bougthe the 100i, the C8X Pisces, the Avenger titan and the prospector while steering away from the multi-crew stuff until I have a better idea of the game.
Thx very much!!! You finally help me choose arrow or gladius on my next buy. I'm not a guy that want buy then all, but wanna best possible choice, so I doing a lot researching. Gladly are some ppl who always can help with that. Thx again and good hunting
Lol we seem to agree with each other on this xD My starter is an Aurora LN (pledged years ago and had no way of playing since a few month ago) All others I bought with auec in this order : Avenger Titan, Cutlass Black, Gladius, Constellation Andromeda.
Thanks for this video! ended up with the Titan and its a good 1 size fits most! just waiting for the wipe now, but other than that just exploring and learning the game. Overall just drooling with the quality of this game so far!
Great list. I would have included the MSR. While it is lacking in the shields and pilot firepower of the connie, when fully crewed it did really good in the 9tails and xenothreat events. Just got to make good use of the ships speed and boost to keep the gunners on target during turns.
I was thinking to myself "hope he picks the pisces on #1 hope he picks the pisces on #1 hope he picks the pisces on #1!!" Great list man! I approve. edit: I wish the Reliant Tana wouldäve been here though ! Extremely underrated.
Personally I'd say the Freelancer leaves you more room for error than the cutlass due to its Tandem shields. You can really feel the difference going into those harder bounty missions, ontop of it's bespoke Gimbal's offering an entire size category higher. The only real downside to the Freelancer is its turret design, and it's lack of room for Medium-sized ground vehicles.
@@LarsHoppa - Predominantly the ROC mining vehicle - unless youre in the Freelancer Max which almost doubles the base 'lancers cargo capacity and hold size.
@@LarsHoppa - thats fair - videos ive seen make it look too tight a fit unlike the Cutty B. I personally dont go by the rule of 'if it fits it sits' since more often than not youre faffing about to get it there in the first place .
I'm not too sure what missions are in-game at the moment but I think a good way to make the 8090 very useful is like a VIP transport type mission where the VIP's safety and comfort controls how much you earn.
Your first ship, C8X Picies expedition is my game package pledge. Got it during Invictus last year which means it has the blue and gold livery and an LTI token included. If you want to start playing Star Citizen on a budget it's a fantastic option because of the low real world game package price. The next ship I bought was a Fury, but that was for a cheap LTI (Life Time Insurance) token that was included with it. I immediately upgraded that purchase to one you didn't cover, but what is one of my favourite ships in the game, the CO Nomad, so now I have two ships in my garage for under $100 USD each that both have LTI tokens on them. The bigger ships you quickly get into are fine for people with higher levels of disposable income, but the cheaper ones, those two give the best bang for buck imo. Depends what game loops you want to play after your wipes. Either of those ships can do bunker missions, low tier AI bounties and 890Jump hijack missions all day until you can get a mining ship. The idea of dropping $400 on a ship to play a game is pretty daunting for a lot of gamers on budgets, the sub $100 options could do with a closer look, if you ask me.
Also been lucky enough to have owned and flown every ship in the game you can buy with AUEC, based on that I'll say the connie series are great all rounders, the Mole is a licence to print in-game currency, the Nomad is the best kept secret for a do-it-all daily flier in the verse, The FC-7M SuperHornet is the most underrated medium fighter available. There's no such thing as the best ship in the game, it's always going to be a question of the best ship for the job. Get a cheap starter ship and game package. Play around with rentals and crew with other players for a while to learn what the game has to offer. Find out what game loops you enjoy, then invest in the ship(s) that gets you into that loop after a wipe or reset.
Really nice video and some amazing SC footage you got here! I recently unlocked my prospector and have been saving up for the C2, but now I've got some more options :)
titan for the win. hands down the greatest ship. it was my starter way back when we only had pirate swarm. if i find myself trading it in for something else, i quickly bump up the next available ship to trade in. same with my connie.
Agreed on all points made while not personally being interested in purchasing all ships listed. With 3.18 on the Horizon you could add the Drake Vulture and Aegis Reclaimer. Honorable mention goes to the Anvil Valkyrie because I refer to it as a Super Cutlass Black.
Thanks for this, it's really nice! It would be useful to have a comparison about what ships to buy with RL cash versus the ones worth grinding for. And how long that grind would take. Cheers!
Love the content man. I Honestly love the Vanguard Harbinger. Its only 2mil and its better than most versions for combat. Its the only Vanguard with size 3 turret guns and it gets a bonus 3 size 5 torpedoes. Its great for vhrts especially if you put the size 5 AD5B Gat, it has 2600 bullets and can easily be a solo driver. In my opinion its overpowered for the price considering the warden is over 3mil. Its great you have a similar opinion i actually started typing this before i watched the whole video. Good stuff man. Oh yea and... 1st!!! :p
I own 8 out of the 10 ships you showed but I find myself often using my Constellation Andromeda, Prospector and Gladius. A lot of players think the Mercury StarRunner is better than the Constellation but the Constellation is 800,000 Cr cheaper, has a snub fighter and overall better turret firing arcs. Also those size 4(5) engine guns and huge missile magazines are controlled by the pilot
An it way faster to get in an out of the constellation andromeda too. The starrunners rear ramp killed me twice too while i was trying to leave the ship. The glitchy trip fall an die thing
@@garyeast7259 Ironic you should say that, because for the longest time, the Constellation used to kill people in the elevator and make vehicles go haywire in the belly pan hold
One thing to consider when comparing the C2 Hercules and Caterpillar is if you purely want to be a hauler or if you want versatility. If you want to pledge for either ship, the caterpillar has the promise of the modular mid section, allowing you to change the ship to meet your needs once that system goes in place, while the hercules will only ever haul ( not a bad thing, just limiting) In the
Aegis Avenger Titan is the best starter multipurpose ship. It ischeap and it is fast. It can carry cargo, can carry friends, can carry a vehicle, has bed and as a fighter ship it is quite good too.
One ship that I think deserves honorable mention is the F7C-S, that thing with a good loadout is an absolute monster and can easily take on ERTs all day long with just a few restocks in between. It's on par, in terms of maneuverability, with the Gladius, and IMHO looks a little cooler than the Gladius. 2x S1 coolers, 2x S1 shields, 3x S3 hardpoints, one S5 hardpoint, and 2x S3 + 2 S2 missile racks allowing for 8 missiles total. I ran that ship for all my ERTs and it was an absolute pleasure to fly.
@TheYourfaceable. The F7C-S Ghost could only hold six size 2 missiles. As for being a pleasure to fly, I found that Hornet series thrusters don't handle atmosphere nearly as nice, as a gladius 😏. Gladius FTW!
Whats the best starter ship? Currently looking into Star citizen. Currently there is a sale on the Aurora MR and 100i. Is there another starter ship I should be looking into?
I have to say, the reason so many people like the Cutlass Black isn't initially because of what it offers, but was because of the trailer/commercial they made for it which got people hyped for it. It was a good marketing video, and while yes, it does have some nice features it's biggest success for popularity has been that commercial
my personal favorite is the constellation taurus. It can do every game loop except salvaging, it has a ton of scu, it can fit multiple land vehicles, and it has no problems in bounties or evading other players. Hands down my favorite
I funded the game in 2012 and made a few upgrades, now I got a Freelancer max. Reinstalled last week and I'm completely lost - stuff bought with ingame currency will be deleted on release (or major patches) right? Or is it in a soft launch state already?
Cutlass Black, Vanguard Harbringer, Connie Andromeda, and Freelancer MIS are my top do it all ships that punch above its class. Not small but also not annoyingly massive. The threat of missile dumps usually keep amatures at bay.
I first tried SC in late 2021, bought a standard Aurora, upgraded to a Cutty Black when I had earned enough aUEC, though I always disliked the fragility of it's shields in combat. So I invested in a Gladius after testing 4-5 other ships in comparison which was a great choice. Due to lack of interest and a underpowered pc, I quit for some time. Yesterday, I got myself a RTX 3060 and re-installed SC, playing for the first time since propably 8 or more months. While enjoying the big increase in system power, I have to think about future ingame investments for I question my previous decisions with the ships I bought, especially since the game got wiped since some updates. I'm thinking of giving the Freelancer a try since I have had enough situations with the Cutty turning to worse for me because of a lack of protection; I also love the Gladius, but today I'd focus more on grinding to a Constellation Phoenix which I always craved for.
Even though torpedoes have a stupidly long range you will probably never hit anything at 30 to 50 km. Mainly because you're giving the target so much time to launch countermeasures. And currently missiles get spoofed very easy. The best method right now is a speedy strafing run launching a torpedo at near minimum range.
@LevelCapGaming absolutely loving these Star Citizen videos. If you do decide to make more content like this, would you be willing to do a deep dive into the various ships available in game? I’d (personally) be overjoyed if you split them up by class or manufacturer. Thanks again for the Stellar content, as always.
if u got deep pockets, the universal best starter ship is the constellation taurus. though it has less missiles, it has superior storage space, and am not sure if this function is active, but its suppose to have a hidden cargo area that can store stolen cargo and not get flagged by patrol ships
When I started playing _Star Citizen_ back in 2020 I chose the Aurora MR as my starter ship. Since then I've earned ships in game which include the following: Aegis Avenger Titan Aegis Sabre Aegis Vanguard Harbinger Aegis Vanguard Sentinel Anvil F7C-S Hornet Ghost Anvil Hawk Anvil Hurricane Crusader Ares Starfighter Ion Crusader A2 Hercules Starlifter Crusader Mercury Star Runner Drake Corsair Drake Cutlass Black Drake Cutlass Red Drake Vulture Misc Prospector Misc Reliant Tana I've rented and tried: Aegis Eclipse Aegis Gladius Anvil Arrow Aopoa Khartu-al Banu Defender C.O. Nomad Drake Buccaneer Drake Caterpillar Esperia Blade Misc Freelancer Max Origin 300i Origin 325a Origin 600i RSI Constellation Andromeda In early 2024 I can honestly say without hesitation that the Aegis Avenger Titan is _'pound for pound'_ the best all around ship in the game. No matter what I earn in game between each wipe or how excited I am to finally try it, I always end up going back to my Titan for most types of gameplay because it just performs so well and is so reliable. Things like a small cross section, optimal field of view, multiple entry/exit points, a back ramp, etc. are some of the best features of any ship that it takes a bit of time an experience to truly appreciate. However, so many overlook them in favor of style, OP pilot DPS, pointlessly large cargo storage (currently), and more exotic ship features that still have no game play. I'm constantly trying to replace the Aegis Avenger Titan with a (slightly) _"bigger and better"_ daily driver, but am routinely disappointed with more recent offerings, such as the MSR. That being said, a bigger ship that I place closer to the Titan than all the others is the Drake Corsair; the only ship I've used that is anywhere near as useful as the Titan, and it costs just over 4x as much even before the expensive upgrades. Good video. This list is accurate. The Titan is front and center, and I imagine would include the Corsair if it had been out at the time).
I love my Scorpius. If you have a single other friend it’s one of the best choices for a two man, though obviously not near as tanky as a Vanguard, if the pilot of skilled that ship is very meta, though granted not hugely versatile.
The biggest issue I have with games like this, is that you can try out different ships. You grind for a month+ to get ONE ship you are looking for, buy it, and then realize there are some issues you'd rather get another. EVE had this issue, but lucky SC has insurance, so your ship does not get lost.
If you are not familiar with it, the IAE is in november, an ingame expo where the manufactureres show of all their ships. A superb opportunity to try out all the ships you want for free :)
Have quite a few ships (cutty, conny etc) but I really like the M2 Herc. Seems they took their time making it as I find everything works smoothly and when cruising the surface it flies like a jet out of DCS.
i think the pisces has THE fastest ingress/egress time of any ship with an interior. can't think of any others that have only one door between the pilot seat and the outside (i don't count the MPUV since the pod on the back is technically separate and not part of the ship therefore not constituting an interior).
If you’re starting out, I can’t recommend the avenger Titan enough: it is such a great ship in every aspect of the game
or the 300i/variants, although a little weaker at the moment it'll be a little better in combat at launch due to better materials.
Got credit for my purchase back and added more cash just to get the avenger. Best all round starter
If you are starting out and want to experience Star Citizen to the fullest, the Aegis Avenger Titan is without a shadow of a doubt; the BEST starter choice.
is it good for mining also?
@@mattranze for mining you will need a dedicated mining ship or vehicle. For hand mining, which is the starting spot for mining, sure it can help get you into caves and whatnot due to its size. But only the mole and prospector are mining ships for quant mining
how to aquire a free fully manned hammerhead :
step one : take a small inexpensive fast ship
step two : take a gun and an oxytorch (and don't forget your helmet to breath in space)
step three : take an ERT mission
step four : fly next to the hammerhead
step five : eject (with the ejection seat, your ship MUST be equipped with one, an avenger titan has it for example)
at this point the hammerhead will stop firing because when you eject your ship is self-destroyed.
step six : boarding time yarr, take out your oxytorch and go to the front door, depending of the current game patch you can sometimes open at least the first two doors by getting close to them (really close sometimes) and using the F+click to open it, the third door HAS to be opened by an oxytorch (will take few seconds)
step seven : go to the first front door you see and take the elevator
step eight : kill the pilot in the seat
step nine : now you have a FREE hammerhead with ALL it's turrets active and NPC's inside.
once captured, the NPC's will actually behave as if you were their leader, they won't attack friendly ships unless they attack you and they will ALWAYS attack ships in red (players or NPC's).
you can also do hammerhead vs hammerhead fights with it or maybe try to go against the Idris.
and no, you can't keep it.
I thought they didn't attack other bounty targets?
@@mripwntheworld well they do, i've done ERT's before with a stolen hammerhead (in 3.17).
Late comment but it really gives you a taste of NPC crew which I can’t wait for.
Commenting to remember
You can do this so much faster if you don't use an oxytorch
What is the claim time for the 125a?

Respawning for the Carrack is not going away. It has a Tier 2 medical bed, which CIG has said does have regeneration properties, based on ship. The Carrack and 600i included, as they are exploration ships. The Apollo will also have regeneration, using tier 2 beds.
This is the only time CIG has ever said that a tier bed would lose respawn capabilites, and it's in regard to Tier 3 beds and the Cutlass Red: ua-cam.com/video/enePky-iO0c/v-deo.html
And again in this video: Nobody ever mentioned anything about T2 beds: ua-cam.com/video/f47-lobg1_c/v-deo.html
Good info
Yep, T2 beds will retain regeneration
Ok thanks for the info, I saw some posts about T2 losing regen at some point. So that's good to know.

All for under a million UEC. I’d suggest it over the Cutlass if you want to get into ROC mining fast
Shame the windshield needs repairing after 1 hour of being out due to wear,. You can't see out of it.. that needs a tweak
Is the nomad bugged? When I loot at it in the ship retrieval system, it says cargo is 0
I agree. The Nomad is an amazing ship, and I would recommend it over the Cutlass Black unless you always play with one or two friends.
Also the mining rover fits better into the cutless, while the freelancer freight version has more freight capacity.
Yeah but ones a drake
Nomad one love! ^^
I also just wanna give the Avenger Titan, this; it has two points of entry for extremely quick entering or exiting. The fold out ladder is so nice for just eliminating the wait for the doors to open since you normally would have to go through 3. It is a wonder quality of life feature that I wish some other ships had.
I love the Titan, have tried like 7 ships so far and Titan is my personal favorite :)
so many more ships need this.
This is a solid list!
My fav is the Defender. I love it so much, I bought two in game so In ever have to wait to reclaim it. Very versatile.
I love your videos Level, keep up the awesome work
This was one of the videos that got me into the game. I can now proudly say, that I owned every one of them at least once. Thanks lvlcap
Honestly you could just go on talking about every vehicle in the game and I'd still listen to the whole thing. Fantastic video.
I wonder if Level Cap or one of the editors will see this. I feel like this video would have really benefited from a bulleted breakdown per ship. Something like...
- Name
- Ship Type
- Price
- Max Occupancy
- Cargo Capacity
- Default Weapon Loadout
- Shield Strength
- 1-2 recommendations on what to upgrade.
I'm just so lost being a new player and some of the prices, capacity, and occupancy were left out or too vague.
No point for new players ))
Just buy avenger titan or Pisces Exploration if you dont know what do you want to do in-game.
@That Design Guy. I am waiting for CIG to release a carrier with the following benefits:
- A Minimum operation occupancy of one; so, that I can solo with it.
I am amazed how detailed star citizen ships are.
:)
Im amazed how expensive this is!
@@LuXuZ $45 isn't too bad for a game.
@@domusdebellum3042 it is for what basically is a large tech demo
This game is taking so long to make it's generational 😂
Cannot thank you enough for this video, really happy I saw this before purchasing the game. THis was exactly what I was looking for
If the mercury star runner had a closer entrance from the ground to the cockpit it would be one of the best ships in the game
They did say this was a mistake and they're going to fix it.
@@CB-oh5mmI can't wait either! I typically mine and then sell in the MSR but I would run regular mission if I didn't have to go through that ungodly long time from cockpit to exit.
meh...smuggling/data running yes...other than that no.
It's definitely the easiest to figure out.
maybe its not designed to walk efficiently in cause its a long-range data runner. Lots of time in space cruising.
Great list. I love both my Cutlass and Freelancer. The Freelancer does give you a ladder entrance in addition to the ramp, which is nice.
That Hercules ship reminds me of Mass Effect's Normandy ship, which is awesome
game would be so good with NPCs on the turrets. i like the bigger ships but with all the bugs its so annoying and time consuming to get it rly going with a fully crewed player ship.
sad that they cant implement NPC like in the npc ships .. that just shoot at red targets and autospawn in the ship turrets.
easy and efficient.
I love my 325a as well. Definitely an underrated ship
Although I love my 325a very much, the long respawn time and tedious boarding animation are not friendly to new players who will usually lost ship in even MRT missions.
@@twitterchatbot8840 takes some practice so not new player friendly but I find ot fun snd it looks awesome. Practice practice practice
How do you buy still in concept ships
I got the gatac syulen as my first ship and I love it. Tons of storage and amazing visibility along with plenty of fuel and speed it’s a great ship.

The Pisces medical is great for bunker missions, that handy respawn point is a godsend. Plus you can run a few small box missions.
LevelCap has made this games population explode and I love it. I want this game to last for decades.

Great list. I would have included the MSR. While it is lacking in the shields and pilot firepower of the connie, when fully crewed it did really good in the 9tails and xenothreat events. Just got to make good use of the ships speed and boost to keep the gunners on target during turns.

But the design is way better xD
Which vehicles does the Cutlass carry that the Freelancer can't?
@@LarsHoppa - Predominantly the ROC mining vehicle - unless youre in the Freelancer Max which almost doubles the base 'lancers cargo capacity and hold size.

Perfect video, thank you for all the work you put into this - really helpful!
Great info. Can't wait for more ship reviews. ;)
Amazing work! and excelent camera views...
Agreed on all points made while not personally being interested in purchasing all ships listed. With 3.18 on the Horizon you could add the Drake Vulture and Aegis Reclaimer. Honorable mention goes to the Anvil Valkyrie because I refer to it as a Super Cutlass Black.
A solid list with strong reasons to back up your picks.
Thanks for this, it's really nice! It would be useful to have a comparison about what ships to buy with RL cash versus the ones worth grinding for. And how long that grind would take.
Cheers!
I've been loving the Ares Inferno that size 7 gatling gun shreds anything in its way
Love the content man. 1st!!! :p
I copped a Mercury Star Runner during Invictus, it's such a fun ship, can not wait for Data Running :D
That top gun music in the backround, i see you haha

If you want to pledge for either ship, the caterpillar has the promise of the modular mid section, allowing you to change the ship to meet your needs once that system goes in place, while the hercules will only ever haul ( not a bad thing, just limiting)
In the
Might wanna notice they took the 'modular' stuff out of the cats description.
The old reliable Cutty Black was not a surprise. Was surprised to see the Eclipse when the Harbinger is on the list though
I would love to also see a video where you go over the top ten "coolest" ships
my personal favorite is the constellation taurus. It can do every game loop except salvaging, it has a ton of scu, it can fit multiple land vehicles, and it has no problems in bounties or evading other players. Hands down my favorite
The bucc to me is up there as a light fighter with the spinal cap 2 size 2 , 2 size 1 and 2 size 3 hardpoints pretty maneverable its a beast!!
I funded the game in 2012 and made a few upgrades, now I got a Freelancer max. Reinstalled last week and I'm completely lost - stuff bought with ingame currency will be deleted on release (or major patches) right? Or is it in a soft launch state already?
Especially when 4.0 will come, they will wipe everything. But they try to do it as rarely as possible.
The Crusader has such a striking appearance. If I ever wanted to live on a ship, that is my pick.
I have two ships, and they're both in your top 10 video haha! The Gladius and Andromeda :)
Cutlass Black, Vanguard Harbringer, Connie Andromeda, and Freelancer MIS are my top do it all ships that punch above its class. Not small but also not annoyingly massive. The threat of missile dumps usually keep amatures at bay.
8:25 The Aegis Gladius maybe my next ship thanks man
Some very usefull insights and lots of alternatives what one can do in the game, thank you.
I’m so out of touch with this game rn, such a great concept, I’m excited to get back on it
@LevelCapGaming absolutely loving these Star Citizen videos.
Since then I've earned ships in game which include the following:
Aegis Avenger Titan
Aegis Sabre
Aegis Vanguard Harbinger
Aegis Vanguard Sentinel
Anvil F7C-S Hornet Ghost
Anvil Hawk
Anvil Hurricane
Crusader Ares Starfighter Ion
Crusader A2 Hercules Starlifter
Crusader Mercury Star Runner
Drake Corsair
Drake Cutlass Black
Drake Cutlass Red
Drake Vulture
Misc Prospector
Misc Reliant Tana
I've rented and tried:
Aegis Eclipse
Aegis Gladius
Anvil Arrow
Aopoa Khartu-al
Banu Defender
C.O. Nomad
Drake Buccaneer
Drake Caterpillar
Esperia Blade
Misc Freelancer Max
Origin 300i
Origin 325a
Origin 600i
RSI Constellation Andromeda
In early 2024 I can honestly say without hesitation that the Aegis Avenger Titan is _'pound for pound'_ the best all around ship in the game.
I can easily attest to the Constellation Andromeda. Rescues, Bunkers, or Bounties. Hits like a Mack truck and can do medium hauling with ease.
A superb opportunity to try out all the ships you want for free :)
homie - been watching since the battlefield days ~ more star citizen content!!
The Mercury Star Runner... the mini Hercules with cool secret passages.
The Hercules Starlifter looks goood!
