Teplen institute's Outer Rim Yacht Club is a genuinely amazing fleet comp. Granted it's also one who's command will be sabotaged at every step of the way by how effective it is while not conforming to imperial dogma. It'll be seen as a threat to the pecking order. Not because of the, honestly, inspired ship choices or doctrinal changes, but by way of fostering a sense of loyalty within the crew that flows down and around as opposed to merely up the chain.
@@hellboundchaoscommand7567I don't remember that so much as Thrawn was going to be their likely source of TIE defenders thanks to the gift of art deco.
@@singletona082 well it’s quite a while ago since I watched it, but out the top of my head I remember he demoted the Raider-class corvette to an electronic warfare ship. That alone is already completely unacceptable
I'd go: - ISD II (Anti-Capital/Flexibility) - VSD I (Missile support/Anti-Capital) - 4x Lancer Frigates (To cover each Star Destroyer) - 2x Rendili Dreadnoughts (Supporting anti-capital fire/Protecting the Lancers) - Quasar Light Carrier (Heavy snubfighter use to cover flanks) - Carrack Cruiser (Heavy support for the Quasar)
Switch the Quasar with the Ton-Falk, change it to 4 Carrack to 2 Lancers, and that would be my task force. I like the old Legends lore that the Quasar was a converted freighter instead the new lore that it is an Imperial light carrier. The Ton-Falk to me is the Imperial Carrier.
Ideal Imperial Task Force (small fleet): 1 ISD2, 1 VSD, 1 Interdictor (questionable if available), 2 Dreadnaught HC, 3 Carrack LC, 4 Arquitens LC, 3 Lancer Frigates, 4 Raider CVs. This also provides 12 squadrons of star fighters (without the Interdictor). Also easily splitable into 2 or more smaller components.
"The TIEs will help but you can't rely on them?" Ridiculous good Sir! The TIE Avengers and Defenders have no equals. Fill your hangars with them and none may stand against you. Technology is the key to victory!
It's always good in my book to use ships that use good technology. Battles are won by tactics but also technological advancements. Battle of Rorke's Drift is a perfect example of that. Well Rorke's Drift was an infantry battle but you get my point.
but sir all the good and excellent tie pilots have died in thier tie/ln fighters all of them are rookies only thranw and 181st are professionals and aces ,rebel starfighters and thier pilots have already crossed what we have now barely achieved
In Star Wars: Rebellion, my standard Inperial Fleet is usually either an ISD or a VSD, if I start with any Dreadnaught cruisers I'll usually have them in a fleet with a VSD but I don't build them, I'll also usually have an Escort Carier with the VSD fleets since the VSDs only carry two fighter squadrons, after those ships every fleet typically gets 2 Carrak Cruisers, 2 Lancer Frigates, 2 Assault Transports, and an Interdictor. My Rebel Fleets usually start out as either a Bulk Cruiser and/or an Escort Carrier and two Corellian Corvettes. As I research more vessels, I'll usually add two Nebilon B Frigates, a Mon Calamari Cruiser, 2 Corellian Gunships, and a CC-7700 Frigate a s they're researced and will often move any Bulk Cruisers to my base defense fleet since . For fleets focused primarily on planetary defense like the one protecting my secret base snd the one orbiting my primary core world prison planet, I'll typically just use 4 gunships. In the rare instances that I take over a system using a planetary assault I'll add a couple other ships to increase the fleet's troop capacity to 6 regiments, but I generally try to avoid planetary invasions for most of the game. I don't usually need to build any of the more advanced ships as I've usually established military dominance by the time they're researched and am mostly just trying to gain control of planets and find the leaders I need to capture.
Yavin: Send more than three fighters and have smaller support ships defending the Death Star. Hoth: Maybe don't land as far from the Rebel base and use more fighter support. Or just not be incompetent and succeed in jumping into the system without Rebel detection. Endor: Put a spare shield generator on the Death Star 2, clear the forests around the shield generator on the surface, and put a defensive fleet near the Death Star 2. Also, use the "Thrawn Pincer" to jump in ships from hyperspace, giving the Rebels less time to prepare.
Thrawn at Yavin IV: It's unfortunate we arrived on the far side of the planet, but it is of little concern. The resulting explosion will destroy the moon and the Rebels both. There is no need to stand on ceremony: Fire. Thrawn at Hoth: Deploy two full wings of TIEs, 144 fighters. Keep a third in reserve in space to act as a fighter screen against any attacks on the capital ships or transports attempting to slip past the blockade. Engage the rebel speeders attacking the AT-ATs until they are all destroyed, then provide close air support to the AT-ATs until the shield generator is destroyed, then take out the ion cannon, gun emplacements, and any remaining transports on the ground. Thrawn at Endor: The incomplete Death Star is our main asset and represents more firepower than the entire fleet. Should the shield generator on the forest moon be disabled, DS2 should prepare to enter hyperspace if Rebel starfighters breach our screen. Interdictors should pull the Rebels out of hyperspace far from the Death Star so their fighters have more distance to cover to reach their objective. Once the Rebels are trapped, target Home One with the Death Star's superlaser first, then target the next largest ship to maximize the amount of Rebel firepower destroyed with each shot. Have capital ships maintain distance from the Rebel fleet, keeping them trapped in no-man's land between the Death Star and the fleet, and preventing them from using our own ships as cover from the superlaser.
#AskEck Can you please explain how SHIELDS work for us on capitol ships, why in episode 3 was Anakin able to so easily destroy the shield generator of the Invisible Hand to enter the ship to save Palpatine? Why were the shield generators kept outside of the ships shields so that they could be destroyed from mere laser cannons? Is this the same for other capitol ships as well or simply a design flaw?
It’s not so much that the generators were kept outside of the shields, but that starfighters like to duck under the shields to do damage directly to hull emplacements. Depending on what game/lore you are looking at changes how the shields work. Ray shielding protects against energy, and particle shields work against physical objects, like asteroids. If we keep just to the original 3 movies, there are some contradictions. Like when the starfighters were able to go through the first Death Stars shields, it did affect them slightly, but they got through just fine. Another example is in the asteroid belt how one of the stardestroyers got so pummeled by asteroids it’s shields went down. But it was able to stop asteroid impacts up to the point of collapse. One would assume a death star sized battle station would have access to most impressive shield tech, or at least insanely powerful compared to a star destroyer, what with the square cube law affecting generator space inside the station.
i kinda asked this same question during a tapcaff stream. like at the end of mando season 3 when the arquitens was planet side and the ties just blasted the hull of the ship like the shields werent up even though they said they were. Corey and Justins answer was simply, "It works when the writers want it to work" lol which wasnt the answer i was really looking/hoping for but, oh well lol but im still curious too
It doesn't explain why the shield generator was kept outside of the invisible hands regular shields, or why it was placed in such a spot that was so easily destroyable from the outside. It seems like such a huge design flaw as it would then be very difficult to prevent boarding parties from invading the ship. @@peterhajdu3272
Why are ships simply able to duck under the shields? If you look at the Droideka for example, nothing moving faster than 1mph can even enter its shields without being deflected/destroyed. Clearly they have the technology to create shields that don't allow nothing to pass through it.@@juangonzalez9848
Eck’s fleet comp sounds pretty solid, but I’d through a modular task force cruiser in there as well for logistics. Hiigaran vessels from Homeworld are notable because of how versatile they are, as larger vessel classes such as carriers and battle cruisers are highly modular and can have weapons and even internal subsystems swapped out for anything needed in a certain situation. The MTC is like the only ship that can do this in Star Wars for some reason. Also of note about Hiigaran fleets is that they have the ability to replenish losses through resource extraction and salvaging. If rebel fleets had access to vessels that could function as factory ships it would be totally joever for the Empire real quick.
#AskEck 1) if you were a Imperial Commander of a imperial fleet and you have just heard of the death of the emperor at ender what would you do, what type of Imperial Warlord would you be. 2) if you are a new reoublic naval commander of a task froce during the yuuzhan vongwhat war, what types of ships whoud you have. (notes - you only know of the yuuzhan vong as much the new republic dose before the fall of coruscant)
#AskEck One thing I was always curious about was how the main Government in the galaxy either Republic or Empire, would categorize time events and dates? We the viewers use BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) and ABY (After Battle of Yavin) to show when certain battles and events take place for obvious reasons. But the Empire and Republic clearly wouldn’t be using these in their time periods. So how would they describe events such as “The Clone Wars started on ___” or “The Empire was founded on ___”?
I have seen many fans use the Ruusan Reformation as a 0 point for the Republic and Declaration of the Empire in Revenge of the Sith as the 0 point for the Empire. While ABY/BBY is used by the New Republic etc.
#AskEck Have we seen any notable Mercenary warbands, companies or fleets in Star Wars, legends or canon of any era? I recall bounty hunters a plenty, but not any notable mercenaries.
#AskEck If you could redesign the first death star to look or act how ever you wanted what would you change about it? The only rule is that it still has to remain as a scare tactic to keep systems in line
Easy. Scale it down to just turn a planet into an uninhabitable ball of molten rock in one shot, give it a Class 2 Hyperdrive, make multiple, and put them in the middle of a fleet that can properly defend it against capital ships AND Starfighters. Cheap out if you can. TL;DR: Fire Tarkin and put Thrawn in charge.
lancer, carrack, victory 1, and gladiator all have the greatest bang for your buck of all the ships in star wars. give the lancer an engine upgrade, the victory all the secondary upgrades the victory 2 got but keep the weapons loadout, and carve out the interior space the gladiator obviously has for hanger space to add to its already large fighter compliment turning it into a proper carrier. add in 2 gozanti intelligence bureau ships for e-war and some raiders to scout. fitting all your fleets like this you could tear apart anything in the setting, even star destroyers and SSDs would get shredded as although they're fast the size means they can be outmaneuvered and destroyed from their blind spot in the rear and even in a straight slugging match ton for ton or credit for credit your bringing more guns to the fight and can get more of those guns into range at a time than those lumbering behemoths.
A jack of all trades built on the acclamator chasis. 24 dual turbolasers instead of 12 quads double the point defense lasers and the interior modified to be a carrier with at least 120 fighters with extra shields and power generators and about 800 marines with supporting vehicles for boarding actions and limited ground operations.
Would Like to hear your take on The Expanse ships, and The Expanse universe in general. I think they compare well to the HALO E-U, especially the earlier books, ware Zero G and other hard science ideas were more prevalent.
I'd like to see what would be maybe the next step after this: Designing a warlord faction. What type of fleet(s) do you build, what army, specific ground and space doctrine, what planets or sectors do you try to claim, and what level of cooperation do you show to other imperial. Conversly, I think designing a rebel cell from the ground up would also be incredibly cool

I would definitely love to hear more about a logistics fleet and/or ground invasion force. Ever since your factions compared and building the perfect fleet videos years ago, I’ve been trying to do the same. So I’d always love to hear more about these topics!
calling it now: miniaturize it to the point it can be another ship in the fleet, it only needs to one shot disable enemy capital ships not turn planets to dust. so the onager basically.
Borg Cube. Jk. Here is an idea: Tarkin Doctrine encouraged the use of intimidation. Thus is why piping planets is so appealing. However, we are shown that the Death Star can shoot ships with the beam. So, refocus the purpose. Have smaller emitters around the station and focus on a fleet killer. (I have to go but fill in the rest. ) Why blow up a planet when melting will work?
Honestly, if I could build a dream fleet, I would take some ships from different franchises (Andromeda, Galactica, etc...), add some energy shields & Star Wars weaponry, and mix them with some Star Wars ships. I'd rework/modify some Star Destroyers also.
#AskEck Ok so do the same thing with UNSC ships. Your limits are no infinity class and none of the shielded ships of very late war. Your time would be during the human covenant war. Love the vids keep it up Eck
#ASkEck have you ever considered covering "The Expanse"? it would be interesting to see versus videos between ships from the expanse and halo or mass effect
Have you ever played Star Wars Armada? Fleet building is such an important part to that game, and the game is so underrated. Such a great tabletop game.
Ideas for continuing this series. 1. Establish a credit limit and do your best to use cannon info for ship cost. 2. Make fleets for specialized purposes. Make a planet invasion fleet, a fleet for hunting down rebel threats (small and large rebellions), and planet protection/blockading, etc. Extend this series to ground armies (imperial army and stormtrooper core) and make specialized task forces as well. Just some thoughts, I like the video concept.
#AskEck: What are your thoughts on Operation Domino and how the Galactic Civil War would've gone if it was successful? I wish we could've gotten more lore about the "Secession Worlds" mentioned in The Essential Guide to Warfare that the Empire crushed early on.
Ask Eck: If you somehow in the position of Emperor Palpatine. How will you rule your Empire? What will be the doctrine? The size of military might? And etc...
The only thing you can do is remove the armored forces which can be carried, the venator by base already fits its role as a carrier, the problem is it was used like an Imperial class
An accurate assumption venitors weren't designed for the clone wars strile of battles the imperial class Star destroyer would have been a better ship to destroy the separatist while the venitor would have an carrier role
Only thing needed for is a better egress point than a trench that runs along the whole top of the fucking ship 😂😂 .... oh and use all avaliable space for fighters/gunships/shuttles forget the whole ground invasion shit they were used for.
#AskEck I would love for this question to be turned into a series. Designing the perfect Republic (Pre-Ruusan, Post-Ruusan and Clone Wars), CSI, Rebel, New Republic, GAR... Some smaller powers could be super interesting, like Hapans, Mandalorians, a random PDF, Judicial Forces...
If you're considering scarcity in your plans, I would add a modified/repurposed Victory class. It probably hasn't been long enough for them to be scrapped en mass, but aftermarket parts might be in abundance due to offloading, so you could potentially have a secondary workhorse modified to fit other gaps in your formation.
I think a bit more... emphasis on mission statement would be good. Is this a peacetime situation? Make the lowest amount of budget go the furthest. is it a strike mission against a set enemy stronghold? is it a prolonged campaign? is it anti piracy, anti rebel? is it search and destroy? is it capital world defense? etc.
#AskEck have u considered doing a sector by sector history? You can go from the Deep Core to the Outer Rim talking about the species and significant events that happened within its borders.
You should address the vt49 decimator, the imperial gunship equivalent to the millenium falcon. I would have two raider corvettes and 4 vt49's accompanyong every isd in my fleet. Also I think its the perfect "hero" size starship that has hardly appeared in amny sources.
ISD, 5 Carrack cruisers, 5 Lancers, 2 Ton Falks, split fighters 3-1-1 Interceptors-Defenders-Bombers. Copy paste the whole thing for each additional star destroyer, then add an Executor class with every 5 or 10 ISDs. Have 1 immobilizer to start and 1 per 5 additional ISD.
You know, the rebels really are the bad guys. The Corvis had those solar panel things, but then the rebels got it and took them off. Truly in the pockets of big oil inc.
Part of the trouble with answering this question is that it's too broad. A proper task force is called such because it's assembled for a specific TASK. What is the purpose of this task force? Is it supposed to subjugate an unruly planet? Hunt pirates, slaver or smugglers? Is it meant to seek out and destroy a hidden Rebel base? Is it a battle line looking to take out a Rebel fleet asset in direct combat? What do you plan to accomplish with this task force? You have to answer this question before you even begin assembling the force, because the answer you give can radically alter what ships and loadouts you'd want to include. If we're talking a generalist heavy patrol force, then yeah, just take a few Raiders, a couple of Lancers, maybe an Acclamator-II, and center them on an ISD. If we're talking about a combat force intended to go toe-to-toe with a Mon Cal cruiser and its escorts, then keep the Raiders and Lancers, add an Immobilizer-418, two or three Ton-Falks for fighter/bomber support, two or three Strike Cruisers kitted out for line combat, a Broadside or two for missile support, and center the formation on a Tector-class SD as the muscle. If you just need to hunt pirates? A Victory-II, a Ton-Falk, a couple of Carracks, an Immobilizer, and a few Raiders would more than suffice to take on damn near any pirate who ever lived.
#AskEck what percentage of ships in the wider star wars galaxy are made by each of the "big" shipyards and how many are made by individual local companies?
#askeck I know the reason why ventor wasnt seen being used by rebels in the movies or shows is because they didn’t exist in back when the first 3 movies come out but if they did and the rebels were able to get ahold of atleast a small fleet of them, how much would they have made a difference in how the galactic war would have been fought and length of the war?
I’d personally have a small flexible battle group. Victory II Mk2 (20x2 TL, 10x4 DP LTL, 20x1 IC) as flagship, 2X Carracks, 2X DP20s, and 4x Marauders. 24x Tie Avenger (Victory), 5x shielded Tie Interceptors/Carrack, 12x I-7/Marauder
I would argue that it would be beneficial to swap the ISD1 for a Tector. As a star destroyer without any fighter complement it doesn't engender overconfidence when engaging rebels because its strength and weaknesses are very clear-cut. Any trained commander would do their utmost to ensure they don't outrun their escorts and won't engage without support.
#AskEck If you were to design a Separatist Task force what ships/starfighters ext. would you include (Without dreadnaughts obviously) It would also be cool to include auxiliary/logistic ships in the task force as well.
Assuming a "take your lot but don't over do it" approach, I'd go for something along the lines of: 1x Venator (with a full fighter complement for once in the setting) (more than capable of out-gunning most threats it's likely to face, even in the Imperial era TBH, and a full fighter wing it can both patrol larger space areas, and maintain space superiority against most rebel fleets). This takes up my full-size Star Destroyer slot though so no ISD class in this specific comp. 1x Victory 1 (good punch and durability for its size, and the missile volleys are a threat Star Wars ships are generally not set up to counter from what I have seen), though a Victory 2 would be acceptable as a frontline cruiser in larger battles. Plus both variants carry a small fighter detachment for versatility. 2-3x Arquetens (418 cruiser type ideally). Fast, light ship with a self-defense fighter flight, and versatile powerful turbolasers able to engage light or medium ships effectively. Also have ventral guns to provide in-atmosphere support for ground operations ~5x light escorts (raider/CR-90/etc): fast light ships good for recon and general screening duties. Notably not the lancer due to its low speed and the relatively high speed of all my other ships. Though A lancer wouldn't be amiss for large fleet actions. If I have to swap out the Venator for an ISD of some kind though, I'd also probably swap out the Victory and an Arquetens for a pair of Gladiators for their larger hangers compared to the victory and still decent turbo laser armament. Another interesting option might be 1x Tector, 5x Gladiator (full space-superiority tie wing, no bombers), 2x Lancer, 3x Raider. Build it around screening the Tector to let it simply focus on mulching anything medium-large in front of it while the other ships handle the fighters and light warships. However, while such a fleet would be incredibly potent once battle is met, by its nature basically MUST operate together while my other options would be able to spread out and cover more space to more effectively search for sneaky rebels who don't want to meet for battle.
#AskEck How does long range communication work in the Star Wars galaxy? Is there like a phone number you call, and as long as the receiving party has "reception" then the call goes through? Or do you have to know where the other party is for communication to work? If I remember correctly from Rogue One, Cassian receives a transmission from Yavin while in hyperspace after Jedha is destroyed. But in Attack of the Clones, Obi-Wan has to track down Anakin's beacon on Tatooine before he can forward a message from Geonosis to Coruscant, when Anakin was supposed to be on Naboo. Also, I would assume two separate governments like the Republic and CIS have distinct communication infrastructure, but would rebels have to encrypt or encode their communiques while using the imperial holonet? Or would they have to use another medium of communication altogether? Sorry for the long one. I love your work, keep it up!

#AskEck Bit of a late entry, hope you still see it. If you were given command of planning the rebals raid on the DS2 would you use the rebal fleet or, if given the option, swap it out with either the covenant fleet that destroyed reach, the Republic fleet defending corasant, thrawns fleet at the battle of Bilbringi, or the fleet defending the citidal in mass effect.(you can change this list as you see fit) Note that theres no suprise fleet defending the Death Star, and the shield is still up. You also swap support personal and ships if you swap fleet. So no luke, ackbar and no stolen shuttle to slip onto endor, but it also means you can get people like thrawn to command your fleet. Also you get the fleet at its biggest size. Bonus/quick question: DS1 V DS2, no super laser, DS2 gets sheild but isn't finished. Can they even kill each other?
👍👍👍 Personally, I would take the Asuran fleet defending Asuras in Stargate: Atlantis. That fleet was made up of 30 Aurora Class Battlecruisers, each equiped with a large compliment of Lantean/Asuran Drones, which are basically smart mind-controlled missiles that have a shield so they can pass through other shields and dig far into ship hulls before they explode. Bye, bye, Death Star!

Still don’t get why people treat fighter shielding as if it makes your fighter impenetrable, look how good the X wings and Y wings shield did in the first movie 🗿
@@angelic_disappointment7889 not impenetrable, just a vast improvement on the cannon fodder that is the standard TIE and an easy counter to Rebel hit and run tactics.
Yeah, this is something a lot of folk don't seem to get - there's nothing wrong with the ISD, it's the fact that the Empire kept sending them out without any escorts. It's like sending a WW2 battleship out without any light cruisers and destroyers to escort it (Spoiler: Certain idiotic admirals in the Royal Navy did that a couple of times, and we got always got punished for it). Whenever I play EAW, for every ISD I build, I build a Lancer, a Ton Falk, and a Strike Cruiser, and whatever fleet I send the ISD to, they go with it. That way, you always have answers.
My perfect fleet in general would be three Home One class MC-80's, three captured ISD's, six Liberty class MC-80's, two modified with high powered gravity well interdiction technology, two with advanced scanners and targeting systems, and two with the typical layout, 12 Nebulon-B frigates, 20 Corvettes, and a hell of a lot of fighters.
#AskEck Hi I would love to see a video where you explain what battalion of troops you would use. you can use troops from every sci-fi faction ever I would love it if you included basic infantry, transport ships, special forces, weapons, Armour, land transports, tanks and light air support vehicles such as fighters like the tie striker from Star Wars which is an in-atmosphere fighter or the hornet from halo as examples. Thank you so much for your time Eckhartsladder big fan as always!
To create a perfect imperial fleet, you need to address its main weakness that is the threat posed by the snub fighter superiority of the rebel alliance. Which you do by packing it with lancer class frigates, a lot of fighter carrying capacity and tie fighters such as the defenders to defend just against said threat. With a few interdictors and a star destroyer or two thrown in, to trap and destroy new republic fleets its task forces in detail.
Lancer being slow severely limits its potential. Makes it not a great option imo. Instead, I'd have Tartans or Carracks. Both are great against starfighters, and are fast and menuverable. Ideally, I'd have at least two pairs of the the ships, as they work well together. Additional screening can be done by CR92As or raiders. For additional TL power, I'd chose a strike class, vindicator, or dreadnought. Probably strike class though, as eck said. If possible, I'd take a Ton Falk or Nebulan-Bs, as carriers and sensors sweets are great. I'd take as many TIE/in as possible and use them purely defensively. Maybe some gunboats like the YE4 or Skrippray. One more great utility ship to have is the modular task force crusier, which can be configured in many ways. I'd use it as a maintenance bay for my fleet, being able to perform decent feild repairs.
Replace all tie fighters, bombers and interceptors with Tie Advanced, Tie Defenders or Gunboats. Have overlapping sheild generators and more redundant backup systems. Every destroyer has it's hull built around a mini deathstar cannon main gun like an A-10 Warthog capable of 1 shotting enemy capital ships, replace half the turbolasers with concussion and proton torpedo launchers.
#AskEck What would be your ideal invasion force, both for breaking through and establishing a presence on the ground, with regards given to the type of environment and enemy fortifications on the planet. This could be for a specific faction, or a more mix and match of the best from Star Wars at large.
Weird and kind of cool but your fleet configuration matches mine especially with the Lancer Class and the auxiliary carrier (you never have enough fighters) - and depending on my mission profile I would like to change around my Tie squadrons, taking on rebel pilots I want TIE Interceptors. Planetary assault or siege I would take Bombers and the regular ties. If responsible for picket duty, a mix of Interceptors and standard.
Four imperial star destroyer. Two interdiction ships . Twelve lancer frigits. As many tie interceptors as possible. Can I trade the ties for death-seed fighters legally?
Hmm you know as the empire theres a brief couple things they could do. Modify the Raider and really the ISD with some of those missile turrets give them a qaud laser gun too and perfect point defense. I remember how much trouble missiles are from alot of the old star fighter games. The other thing just give the ties shields so every little hit doesn't take them out. Lastly I prefer a few good ships that way I always have enough, having lots of random ships types is a bad idea. Basically just use the ISD raider something in-between like the nebulon maybe and a carrier like a new venator. Just use those 3 or 4 types for the basics if you need to have something more special on the odd occasions.
#AskEck Hey there is a game called armada! build your 400 point fleet for bolth sides rebels/imperial 🎉 you can use a fleet builder to help you with the points. This mey also help the community it’s a great game!
#AskEck Let's say you became a smuggler/freelancer in the Star Wars galaxy, what ship would you choose and how would you improve on it? No real budget limits so go wild with the modifications but probably be unable to pick dedicated warships belonging to the major factions, Republic, Empire, Hutts, Chiss, etc.
I'd take this: 1.redundant systems, so have every vital system triple and enough spare parts to repair 2.a very fast nav computer, so that you can calculate a hyperspace jump in a second 3. a fast sublight engine, with good acceleration to get out of harms way, till I can jump out 4. good passive sensors, so I can detect a ship, before I run into trouble with it. 5. best ECM System on the market and a good stock of decoy drones 6. as a cherry on top a good cloaking device 7. enough firepower to destroy everything faster than me 8. as for comfort a Sauna Idea is don't fight patrol vessels , get the cargo from a to b without trouble

I do think they explained it in the video that the templin institute was hired by Thrawn or something

I'd go:
- ISD II (Anti-Capital/Flexibility)
- VSD I (Missile support/Anti-Capital)
- 4x Lancer Frigates (To cover each Star Destroyer)
- 2x Rendili Dreadnoughts (Supporting anti-capital fire/Protecting the Lancers)
- Quasar Light Carrier (Heavy snubfighter use to cover flanks)
- Carrack Cruiser (Heavy support for the Quasar)

Don’t forget the coleslaw and cherry Coke
#AskEck How do you think Thrawn would have approached the major battle sequences from the films (either Original or Sequels)? Yavin, Hoth, Endor etc.
Probably without a death star
#AskEck
Can you please explain how SHIELDS work for us on capitol ships, why in episode 3 was Anakin able to so easily destroy the shield generator of the Invisible Hand to enter the ship to save Palpatine?
Corey and Justins answer was simply, "It works when the writers want it to work" lol which wasnt the answer i was really looking/hoping for but, oh well lol but im still curious too
That shields task was keep the atmosphere in the hangarspace while the hangar doors are in open position, not to deflect attacks.

One thing I was always curious about was how the main Government in the galaxy either Republic or Empire, would categorize time events and dates? We the viewers use BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) and ABY (After Battle of Yavin) to show when certain battles and events take place for obvious reasons. But the Empire and Republic clearly wouldn’t be using these in their time periods. So how would they describe events such as “The Clone Wars started on ___” or “The Empire was founded on ___”?
I have seen many fans use the Ruusan Reformation as a 0 point for the Republic and Declaration of the Empire in Revenge of the Sith as the 0 point for the Empire. While ABY/BBY is used by the New Republic etc.

Easy. Scale it down to just turn a planet into an uninhabitable ball of molten rock in one shot, give it a Class 2 Hyperdrive, make multiple, and put them in the middle of a fleet that can properly defend it against capital ships AND Starfighters. Cheap out if you can.
TL;DR: Fire Tarkin and put Thrawn in charge.

lancer, carrack, victory 1, and gladiator all have the greatest bang for your buck of all the ships in star wars. give the lancer an engine upgrade, the victory all the secondary upgrades the victory 2 got but keep the weapons loadout, and carve out the interior space the gladiator obviously has for hanger space to add to its already large fighter compliment turning it into a proper carrier. add in 2 gozanti intelligence bureau ships for e-war and some raiders to scout. fitting all your fleets like this you could tear apart anything in the setting, even star destroyers and SSDs would get shredded as although they're fast the size means they can be outmaneuvered and destroyed from their blind spot in the rear and even in a straight slugging match ton for ton or credit for credit your bringing more guns to the fight and can get more of those guns into range at a time than those lumbering behemoths.

if you could commission a ship to be built in Star Wars, what type would it be and what role would it fill?
A jack of all trades built on the acclamator chasis. 24 dual turbolasers instead of 12 quads double the point defense lasers and the interior modified to be a carrier with at least 120 fighters with extra shields and power generators and about 800 marines with supporting vehicles for boarding actions and limited ground operations.

How did the sith mange to stay hidden for a thousand years? There must have been some slip-ups where the jedi could have found out about their existance.

There were other Dark Side users that occasionally appeared so the Jedi probably mistook them for regular darksiders.
I would definitely love to hear more about a logistics fleet and/or ground invasion force. Ever since your factions compared and building the perfect fleet videos years ago, I’ve been trying to do the same. So I’d always love to hear more about these topics!
if you were to design the death star, how would you design it differently than the movies?
calling it now: miniaturize it to the point it can be another ship in the fleet, it only needs to one shot disable enemy capital ships not turn planets to dust. so the onager basically.
Borg Cube.
(I have to go but fill in the rest. )
Why blow up a planet when melting will work?
Honestly, if I could build a dream fleet, I would take some ships from different franchises (Andromeda, Galactica, etc...), add some energy shields & Star Wars weaponry, and mix them with some Star Wars ships. I'd rework/modify some Star Destroyers also.
A series spotlighting various planetary/sector/systems defense forces/fleets would be cool.

Wow, that escort carrier is very utilitarian. Not as fancy as most ships but looks cool!

If you could redesign the Venator class to be closer to it's intended role as a carrier, what would you do?
The only thing you can do is remove the armored forces which can be carried, the venator by base already fits its role as a carrier, the problem is it was used like an Imperial class
An accurate assumption venitors weren't designed for the clone wars strile of battles the imperial class Star destroyer would have been a better ship to destroy the separatist while the venitor would have an carrier role
Only thing needed for is a better egress point than a trench that runs along the whole top of the fucking ship 😂😂 .... oh and use all avaliable space for fighters/gunships/shuttles forget the whole ground invasion shit they were used for.
Loving the #AskEck series!
And maybe throw in a few tie defenders for good measure.
I remember Templin Institute made a similar video😂

One star destroyer(heavy), one tone falk(fighter, bomber), two lancers (anti fighter), one arquentins (heavy guns for corvettes/frigates, artillery)
24x Tie Avenger (Victory), 5x shielded Tie Interceptors/Carrack,
12x I-7/Marauder
If Eck was in charge of the Empire instead of the Emperor, the rebels wouldn’t have lasted five minutes
Great question, awesome video.
#AskEck Who were the founding worlds of the Republic and how did it form?

Out of every ship in the Star Wars universe, which is your favorite, (canon or legends, it doesn’t matter)
#AskEck
If you were to design a Separatist Task force what ships/starfighters ext. would you include (Without dreadnaughts obviously) It would also be cool to include auxiliary/logistic ships in the task force as well.
Assuming a "take your lot but don't over do it" approach, I'd go for something along the lines of:
1x Venator (with a full fighter complement for once in the setting) (more than capable of out-gunning most threats it's likely to face, even in the Imperial era TBH, and a full fighter wing it can both patrol larger space areas, and maintain space superiority against most rebel fleets).
Also have ventral guns to provide in-atmosphere support for ground operations
~5x light escorts (raider/CR-90/etc): fast light ships good for recon and general screening duties.

How does long range communication work in the Star Wars galaxy?

If you were given command of planning the rebals raid on the DS2 would you use the rebal fleet or, if given the option, swap it out with either the covenant fleet that destroyed reach, the Republic fleet defending corasant, thrawns fleet at the battle of Bilbringi, or the fleet defending the citidal in mass effect.(you can change this list as you see fit)
Note that theres no suprise fleet defending the Death Star, and the shield is still up. You also swap support personal and ships if you swap fleet. So no luke, ackbar and no stolen shuttle to slip onto endor, but it also means you can get people like thrawn to command your fleet. Also you get the fleet at its biggest size.
Bonus/quick question:
DS1 V DS2, no super laser, DS2 gets sheild but isn't finished. Can they even kill each other?

Personally, I would take the Asuran fleet defending Asuras in Stargate: Atlantis.
Depending on the faction used, usually you would have 3 IDS Star Destroyer.
Zsjin: 1 SD 2, 2 SD 1, 4 VSD, 4 Bulk cruisers, 1 scout, 4 neb, 4 corvette.
Imperial: 3 SD 2, 4 VSD, 4 Dred, 4 Carr, 4 Lancer, 1 corvette
Pen: Sech, 2 SD 1, support ships
All combos of 3 Star Destroyers.

2 Lancer Frigates, good TIE Interceptor and Skipray Blastboat proportion to TIE l/ns and a Victory Star Destroyer to supplement the Imperial II.
tbh, if you replaced the TIE with a fighter with a shield generator, an ISD could take on whole fleets of smaller ships by itself.
Hence why the tie advance or defender were so smart
I got an interesting one
What about the best banter between adversaries?
Such as Obi-Wan vs Vader, or the Emperor vs Luke and such
To create a perfect imperial fleet, you need to address its main weakness that is the threat posed by the snub fighter superiority of the rebel alliance.

What would be your ideal invasion force, both for breaking through and establishing a presence on the ground, with regards given to the type of environment and enemy fortifications on the planet.
This could be for a specific faction, or a more mix and match of the best from Star Wars at large.

Hey Eck, what do you think Grievous's story would be like if the jedi sided with the Kaleesh in the Huk war?
Weird and kind of cool but your fleet configuration matches mine especially with the Lancer Class and the auxiliary carrier (you never have enough fighters) - and depending on my mission profile I would like to change around my Tie squadrons, taking on rebel pilots I want TIE Interceptors. Planetary assault or siege I would take Bombers and the regular ties.
If responsible for picket duty, a mix of Interceptors and standard.
Something I never noticed before recently was that the Venator star destroyer has a star destroyer type geodesic sensor bulb on the bow of the ship…
I wonder if you saw the Templin Institute’s episode on an Imperial fleet, what they named the ‘Outer Rim Yacht Club’

Let's say you became a smuggler/freelancer in the Star Wars galaxy, what ship would you choose and how would you improve on it? No real budget limits so go wild with the modifications but probably be unable to pick dedicated warships belonging to the major factions, Republic, Empire, Hutts, Chiss, etc.
I'd take this:
1.redundant systems, so have every vital system triple and enough spare parts to repair
2.a very fast nav computer, so that you can calculate a hyperspace jump in a second
3. a fast sublight engine, with good acceleration to get out of harms way, till I can jump out
4. good passive sensors, so I can detect a ship, before I run into trouble with it.
5. best ECM System on the market and a good stock of decoy drones
6. as a cherry on top a good cloaking device
7. enough firepower to destroy everything faster than me
8. as for comfort a Sauna
Idea is don't fight patrol vessels , get the cargo from a to b without trouble
Could we please have a video dedicated to the nikto species from Star Wars
I agree with @seyacosmoprowertheseedrain2757 I've been watching your channel for a while; and I don't think I've ever seen you build an alliance fleet. One, this would be harder considering the lack of funds and the tactics of the Alliance is different. Keep up the great work.
