It's always refreshing when you get honesty over quantity, so thanks for admitting to having difficulty with your tarp. It's lovely to see people enjoying themselves. Atb phil
I just trawled UA-cam for tarp set up ideas. Normally just line it like a tent. They’re great. Really versatile and the size means you rarely get wet. Isn’t it absolutely ridiculous that you go to the shops among hundreds of people with god knows what and that’s ok. Yet you go to the woods or up a mountain in your tent where there’s only you. And that’s not allowed. It has to stop soon like. Anyway. Good to see you still getting oot mate. It all helps. 👍 Atb
Thought I replied to this last night 😂 too many beers lol . Hopefully with more space under it to I will be able to avoid getting wet lol . I agree I can get on a bus/train go to the supermarket and mix with strangers , but cant disappear up a hill or a forest on my own . Hope your well atb Dave
nice one dave . amazing what a wander down the woods for a brew & biscuits can do to stop us cracking up mate . its daily walks to the rescue for me at the minute.(no work this time of year) plenty room in the new tarp . hang in there.👍👍
Well done on the bigger tarp It is so much more versitile and the coverage is so much useful I wondered how long you could last with the small tarp! Play with the different configurations, there are so many and all fit differetn weathers You will enjoy tarp and bivi camping much more
Nice one Dave its a great tarp you can do so many setups even a tarp tent loads of video's out on it mate good to see you out enjoying the local woods looks like a canny place Dave atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍

It was a bit like a parachute there Dave - expected with the winds. But I have the same size tarp and like to drop the front down and you can make a good tent out of it to. Great little spot not to far away. I'd live with the train. Well, good going. Have a cool weekend. Mark

I suppose the military got it right with the good old basha which is somewhere between the two. I need to get one! Anyway, the great thing about having a larger tarp handy is soon enough you won't be looking at the forecast, seeing it's dry, and thinking 'perfect weather to put up that tarp in the local woods' - instead you'll be saying 'p*#sing down with rain - ace! Perfect weather to put up that tarp in local woods' . There's something very nice about being 'open to the elements' as you say, yet still dry - something a tent doesn't really offer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Good to see you again mate, all the best. Rich.
Thanks Rich , yeah I get excited easily these days lol . I've never thought to get a tarp but now I'm thinking they might be a good idea just for alfresco meetups when we're eventually allowed to have them. We were always struggling to find anywhere with shelter. It didn't occur to me to bring my own!!
Cracking Dave just nice to get out in the fresh air and escape for a while mate 👌. Superb choice of biscuit too lol. What size tarp is that the 3x3? Hope you and the family are well, stay safe and hopefully we are free to run fir those hills soon 🙏. Atb Steve

Hi Ray , I have just sold the Akto as couldn't justify the amount of times I use it in a year about 3 ! (And I made a profit on it) Regarding the Hubba NX I really like it , quite similar inside space to the akto but maybe more headroom. @@BorderRambler Have sold the Duomid. An amazing tent and regretting it now. Only reason for sale was the camo colour as it wasnt good for my photography.
