    theres something comforting about the rustling sound of a tarp as its being moved into place, almost like the tarp is singing a song of " camps almost up! "

      @@MSIOutdoors no worries. Just out of curiosity.... if you were to use a 4m x 3m tarp instead could you create a ground sheet somehow?

    • @MSIOutdoors

      @@THEGREATRAYMONDOOUTDOORS I don’t see why not. Especially if there’s a tie out point 3m in (on the 4m side).

    • @MSIOutdoors

      Thanks 😊. They are the oex ones from go outdoors. I would think the poles would be ok with a 4x4. Maybe just more guy lines to support the poles.

      Can’t quite remember, but maybe one of the sections was set at 125, not sure how big that would make the pole in total. Maybe 80-90cm. Thanks for watching 😊.

    Useful setups. Thanks! For the tarp tent setup (at 08:10), what I like to do is to put the back side pegs a bit inwards because that way you can avoid having that back part laying flat on the ground and thus losing some space inside. Of course, you also won't get a ground sheet that way :)

    Hey man, I'm gonna be using your "lean-to" method this weekend. Do you reckon bowline knots will be sufficient for support? Or should I use a different knot. Expecting rain, light wind.

    • @MSIOutdoors

    • @MSIOutdoors

      You could probs moves the hiking pole at the front to inside the tarp, that might close it.

    • @corbenj
      @corbenj Рік тому +1

      @@MSIOutdoorsyou’d be able to copy the set up from the back. It would limit space inside (150cm, pole to pole) but be completely shut off.

    • @Funkteon
      @Funkteon Рік тому

      Agreed. These tarps are only to be used in parts of the world where human encroachment has completely killed off all the ground dwelling wildlife. You would be eaten alive by critters in Australia or South America or Africa or Asia or most of North America if you sleep under a tarp. They are for Central Europe only...
