You are without doubt, the absolute master of this craft. No sensationalism, just enjoying the vibe, great seamless filming and what a sunrise to capture. Farmers gathering crops, perfect. Quintessential English Autumn - thank you.
I couldn't put it better myself I love watching Simon I found his channel 10 months ago and never looked bk He has shown me so much To try out for myself I have learned how to survive in the woods.. It also helps that he seems like a good bloke
Yea Simon , falls setting in over here in the states , we’re still in the mid 80s but the chill is just around the corner , all the humming birds have gone & went & my vegetable gardens are all harvested & ready for next years crops , now I,m just putting up odds & ends from a good not great summer & getting ready for the upcoming holidays to begin & to have more sleep this fall & winter than ever before , we all know it’s coming that cold & frigid chill .
As a north Suffolk man I noted the Mendlesham mast! I’d say you weren’t far from me, but you can see that thing from pretty much anywhere so you could be miles away! Your filming and editing just gets better and better. I love the way you cut away from the subject and just let the sounds come through. Thank you, so relaxing.
Greetings from South Carolina (USA) I sure do appreciate the effort you make in moving your camera around, and all the editing you do.... definitely makes your videos easy to watch. I think a lot of folks don’t realize how much thought, effort and time it takes to make a video like this one. Big 👍🏻 from me!
Good vid. Nice place. Man you got a snake den storing that wood under the big log. That's what it would be here in my home land of east Kentucky USA. Good looking meal. Like the iron skillet. Not too heavy. Lodge brand over here, home cast. I farm some, small. Always fighting time and weather. It can't wait. We like to eat. Good vid. Beautiful place Peaceful. Good music. Nextime
I'm so glad I discovered your channel. You always manage to make me feel calm and relaxed (which is always needed😅). I feel I'm there with you and it's such a pleasure to watch your adventures and your cooking. Thank you for making the effort to make these top notch vlogs🙏.
Thanks Simon for bringing us all along. Any plans to continue with the Angel Ways walk again soon? I really enjoyed those videos, I think I’ve watched them both 4 times now.
Thank you Simon for another wonderful video and for taking me along with you camping I’m a retired disabled garbageman from Northern California you’re awesome Simon thank you for all your hard work and for taking me along with your camping
What I really appreciate about your camping is your economy of gear. You have everything you need and it is well organised and thought out but there is nothing extra or over fancy, just good gear that performs well and does what it’s meant to. Enjoyed this tranquil camp very much, thanks.
Great video mate, just what I needed. This stuff calms me down, my mind has battled depression so bad the past week I’ve never had it this bad and it reminds me of you and Andy’s mens mental health videos. Perfect and spot on with the steak and brews. Keep it up
Simon, i just recently found your site and I am so glad I did. This is just what I need to calm me down and make me sit and relax as I'm a bit of a workaholic, although retired and widowed. You take me away and I love it! My husband, kids and I did a lot of camping years ago and I miss those days! I live in British Columbia, Canada. My grandparents emigrated from Lancashire many, many years ago, to B.C. however they often reminisced about England and their lives there, my grandfather being a Butcher, so I know what you mean by a good steak from the Butcher vs. Super Market...it's the same here! Your videos are spot on and I thank you for sharing them.
Watching this in the evening, just before dinner. That steak looks really good and is making my mouth water! The IPAs were probably the perfect accompaniment. Great camp, Simon.
Very well filmed. I love all the details. For example the iron rings instead of driplines. You have a very sturdy place to sleep there. Kind regards from Germany
I'm heartbroken, I didn't realize Maggie passed away. 😢 I really fell in love with that dog. She had such an expressive face and had such a mellow demeanor. I always liked the videos when she was in the canoe with Simon and she was looking at the ducks thinking ' oh, I want to jump in and get them' . Really sorry Simon.
Thanks Simon, for rolling out so early to show us that glorious sunrise and farm. Loved hearing the sounds as well; always grateful for farmers. Everything you cook looks delicious, everything you film looks lovely. Really do appreciate you taking the trouble to make sure we have a smile on our face. See you in a fortnight's time. Love from Western Australia and God bless.
Nice one Simon, love this. I will never get bored of this type of video. After watching this it’s made me think my next camp will be in my hammock with a steak cooked over the fire 😀👍
Thanks, Simon for another nice video. You are correct my friend, sometimes it is nice to just sit back, enjoy the surroundings and do a lot of nothing. You're also correct about farming, the job of a farmer is never finished. Nice to see you out enjoying a night out. A couple of cool ones, a nice steak cook over a fire, doesn't get much better. God bless you and your family. Stay safe on your adventures.
Good ole Simon...ALWAYS considerate of the ant population -> 11:48 ( granted, the Queen may not appreciate getting the nest all onioned up but hey???...lol!)
Thanks as always for a lovely calm relaxing video! You make it look so easy how you setup camp and that little area looked just the perfect little spot for a Solo Overnighter! Thank you and all the very best to you and family Simon! 😊
Good for you for leaving things so tidy. I was just camping at a popular spot on a nearby mountain and if I picked up less than 3 dozen bits of plastic trash, I'd be surprised. It's so easy to just walk your area and pick stuff up! Looks like a nice little trip Simon!
It’s really upsetting when you find rubbish discarded in our countryside (or anywhere for that matter!) shame some people havnt got respect for the environment and take their litter home 😔
My husband wants you to know that you’re an AMAZING craftsman‼️‼️‼️‼️. He watches your videos all the time he’s a huge fan of yours and Andy’s channel.
We are probably not going to make it out this year as we still do not have a permission and I do not move fast enough anymore to get chased off. I think our set ups are complete and mainly thanks to your videos. Thank you again Simon. Your friend as always Rach & Kazza
Yet another soothing video from ‘our bloke in the woods’. Might have to see if there are any IPAs brewed here in Sydney and send you one. I’m an expat so I love tuning in and hearing all of those familiar sounds like wood pigeons and owls. One of my first scout camps was in Thornham Parva and your videos remind me of the skills I acquired such as knot tying and fire lighting. Would love to have a camp in the woods with ya. Keep those vids coming Simon. Cheers. 🇦🇺🇬🇧⛺️🔥🍺🪢
I envy you. I went camping this past weekend. It was nice for the first two days, except for the wind. In Wyoming we do not have forests like you do. I think that is why I love watching your video's. Stay safe and keep warm.
Just perfect, from the farmers, who think they own the place, the lush greenery and trees, the hammock, the excellent twig stove for a right sized fire, the delicious steak dinner to the sunrise and bannock. WHAT A GREAT PLACE/ADVENTURE. Thank you for sharing. From Kentucky
Enjoying again, on a cool, 49F, 9.4C, October morning. Ribeye is my favorite cut too, can’t go rare though. Thanks for keeping this posted…from an old man in the US, hills of east Tennessee. P.S. The country music that you included was most excellent, thanks again.
I’ve just been through my freezer and we have no steaks!!😢😢😢 Another great video which has left me salivating and longing for you lifestyle. Three and a half weeks to go before I take my new lot of D of E gold participants to north wales for their first training session in canoes and sea kayaks. I’ll then be able to get my kit out to play with👍👍👍
God bless the landowners giving you permission to camp and film ! calm and contentment becomes exponential when we watch your nights away from being house/job bound.
Great camp out Simon that's a lovely woodland to have as a permission that stake looked very nice I totally agree with you regarding stakes from supermarkets atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
It really look like it was a nice day. I have days like that when turkey season comes in spring. Sitting on a edge of a grasses field just waiting for the gobbler to come by.
I just watched Andy of Kent Survival and who else thinks Simon and Andy should collaborate on a campfire cookbook?
That’s an excellent idea!
Simon is to Wild Camping what Bob Ross was to painting: gloriously soothing to the soul.
One thing we have in common is I also ‘cook’ my mushrooms and onions longer than I do the steak!!
You're right about the steaks they've shrunk in recent years. Lovely little woodland to chill in.
Not Angus, Angus steaks are huge
You are without doubt, the absolute master of this craft. No sensationalism, just enjoying the vibe, great seamless filming and what a sunrise to capture. Farmers gathering crops, perfect. Quintessential English Autumn - thank you.

So good to see you make this sort of video again. Films like this one are the ones I love the most.
...and his canoeing outings and walks along the Norfolk coastline.
Good to see you again Simon, I pray all is well with you and your family. Thank you for the video

I’m just outside of Harleston, the other side of the Waveney valley from you and have seen your Landy around from time to time 🙂.

Nice sear on the ribeye. Looks like it cooked just about perfect. Great method.
Your so lucky Simon having a place like that 😊
Excellent! That’s this evenings viewing sorted and a very welcome 30mins respite.
What I really appreciate about your camping is your economy of gear. You have everything you need and it is well organised and thought out but there is nothing extra or over fancy, just good gear that performs well and does what it’s meant to. Enjoyed this tranquil camp very much, thanks.

Fantastic hammock camp and the ribeye steak meal looks delicious the sunrise was amazing thanks Simon for great video
Andrew that steak got my mouth watering haha
So, today I am in Italy and will be eating Italian. Sausage and pepperonatta. That ribeye looks good.
Great video mate, just what I needed. This stuff calms me down, my mind has battled depression so bad the past week I’ve never had it this bad and it reminds me of you and Andy’s mens mental health videos.
Perfect and spot on with the steak and brews.
Keep it up
Thank you mate, I’m so glad the video helps a bit - keep fighting it! 👍
He is the king of the knot, isn’t it. I cannot do none
Some incredible shots in this vid (professional standard I would say), especially those taken at the start of the second day. Well done Simon 👏
Thank you!
15:08 - just in case the ants I mentioned in 11:48 might've been chilly, they're certainly not now!! Lol!
Wish I could give this more than one like!
Beautiful video, Simon!

Another great video. Really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks!
Love it when you put a video out Simon, thank you!
I loved that you were repping your mate Andy!
And Andy used a Simon water bottle in his video this week 😊
@@drmtbc yep! I commented that on Andy’s video. We are an observant lot aren’t we😊
Couldn't help but think how dear, old Maggie would have loved to have those leftovers from that steak! ❤️🐾 Any plans on getting a new pup? 🙂

What a nice surprise to see our Newfoundland and Labrador provincial flag on your rucksack! How did you get it? A tribute to dear Maggie, we suspect ❤
Love that little “woo” just before you tucked in. Made me smile. Great vid.
Relaxing camp with simple but tasty looking grub.
Always enjoy your videos while having a dinner❤

opens beer that’s travelled all the way from Colorado and it’s so shaken up it just gushes with foam till it’s empty.. 😂

Enjoyable and informative as always camping in the lovely English woodland.

Glad you took time to enjoy the moment, without recording. Thank you for the video. Stay well
Perfect meal, perfect hot chocolate, perfect spot, perfect breeze. Wow.
Good fun! Thanks for sharing your evening.
Sometimes you just need that solitude of the woods to make things come together.
Great stuff - glad to see you again. I can't wait for summer to arrive here!
These days, I sleep on a cot. I use a OneTigris fluffy, quilty thing to deal with cool nights and cold mornings. Thank you for your video!
You can't beat camping in the English woods, I miss it so much.
Thanks Simon 👍

Cranking out top quality videos, every week, but the steak comes first, Simon.
That monster would feed me for a week.
Yum. Watching you cook is so interesting and tantalizing! Always an inspiration for getting out and trying something challenging!
Nice video Simon, good to see you relax and take it easy, I'm sure the beers and steak helped😅
Catch you next time buddy.
Did have a wee chuckle at you chopping onions with a big knife when you had a steak knife and a swiss army knife with you!
Andy says “Nice Shirt!!” 😂
