- Trying out a gauge swap on my '99 Jeep WJ. Swapping the gauges to a gauge set from a 2001. I initially wanted to swap the '02 white gauges, but that didn't work as the there are too many differences between the '99 and '02
Okay, HUGE THANK YOU for doing such a deep dive of the cluster assembly! Been doing an overhaul of lights, needles, etc of my own and seeing how the full assembly comes apart was EXTREMELY helpful!
Excellent video, thanks! I’m going to to try to swap in 2001 v8 HO gauges in my 2003 4.0, at first glance they look compatible.
They are!
Its the same pin out, this guy is making people ruin their jeep!
@@baconstrips6260can you explain how?
Jeep moved "where the light is", and now you have to rewire stuff.... its PLUG AND PLAY!
No mods needed!
I have a 04 that the fuel gage is done for the needle fell off can I do the same thing with it
Seeing how the creator of this video can't find time to respond to ya'll, I have worked on XJ's, ZJ's and WJ's for the past 15 years. The new/used instrument cluster you have for the 1999 through 2004 model year is interchangeable and has the same pin out!
Plug and play!
I upgraded my 03 Laredo with the black instrument cluster to the Limited/Overland white cluster with the EMIC with no extra ANYTHING!!!
Don't believe every dbag on youtube because the down vote is gone so you can't tell if this is a BS video!!
@@baconstrips6260i have a 2001 wj Grand Cherokee Laredo 6cilinder with the black cluster, i want a white one from 2002 but is from a v8, does it work on my jeep?
Can you show us how to fix the trip obo
The "trip" (triptometer) is rest by the push peg near the bottom of the speedometer, the Odometer needs to be taken to a jeep dealer to be properly set after changing instrument clusters.
You did all this for lower miles
Lowlife mechanics are all over youtube!
Not really, he wanted the orginal miles on the new gauge
How did you take the clear plastic lens off of the old cluster?
