Great video. I know it’s an incredible waste of time to film everything when we are doing mechanic (and I don’t even talk about editing…), all that work for us and for free! Thank you.
I put same clutch in my van 14 months ago, no probs whatsoever ever!! Update 12/3/23. Conroe broke, piston on top wood burner in living room, cylinder head still on!!! DO NOT FIT A SOLID FLYWHEEL, the modulation of the engine needs that dual mass. I fitted a 4 piece LuK rep set £235
Sorry mate but looks like ur conrod was already fkd before u put flywheel in.. how can u be sure it wasnt the old dualmass fly wheel yht messed it up.. Thousand of people, including me, have done this convertion, with no issues... 😂😂😂... looks like ur engine was already fkd mate... So my advise is.. do this convertion.. wel worth the money... rather than getting ir 0ants pulld down 😂😂
Hi, thank you so much for making this, you saved me a lot of money! 2 long days and I've changed the clutch and dmf, however my Skoda is now in limp mode, do you have any idea how to fix this?
@@dunebasher1971that it was! I recommend also replacing the crankshaft seal while already at it. Also I needed to order a new pin on which the clutch lever rests as it has a plastic component that shatters easily when the DMF fails. And just a side note I managed to get it done without disconnecting the driver's side driveshaft from the wheel.
@@mithrilsk Thanks for the heads-up. I'm actually finally about to do this. I've been advised *not* to touch the crank seal unless it's already leaking, and if it is, I'm going to need an engine support bar as well as the special crank seal install tool on top of the already-expensive crank seal itself. Or did you manage to fit the seal without the tool and/or without needing to drop the oil pan (hence needing the support bar to hold up the engine from above)?
@@dunebasher1971 the seal itself was really not that expensive and I've found a few videos here on YT of guys just pushing it in, no special tools. It did come with a special plastic ring to help lead it in though (not sure if all manufacturers provide it). I went about it a bit more elaborately using 3 screws with washers overlapping the seal - then I just tightened the screws each a few turns at a time until the seal was flush with its surroundings. The real thriller was the magnet for the crank positioning that comes on the seal - it obviously needs to be installed in the same position as it was before removing the old seal. That's why some recommend positioning the engine to TDC which I didn't do and just went by photos I took before removing it. The engine support seems necessary, however, since there is nothing to hold it in place while the transmission is removed. I should add that I still have a minor oil leak, but it seems to be coming from the valve cover and I didn't have the time to check on it properly yet.

Hi, from Spain- Good video. I have some questions. You remove oil from gearbox. Seems to me they are differents. I´m right? Please answer if you can. Thanks.
If it just very little noise, you can still drive. Better if you make video how you press clutch pedal. This way you can see difference.. About flywheel brand, your mechanic right. LUK or SACHS best choice.
@CarFixEasy you can hear the sound in this link ua-cam.com/video/LC3pNM_Jj7g/v-deo.html Actually my car has very little run daily. I use liqui moly 5w40 oil. Which engine oil you use? Any diesel additives can you suggest? Thnx dear
Very detailed but this would be so much better if you lost the music and spoke to us telling us what you are doing and why. We aren't all professional mechanics.
All bolts on the car need to be torqued up. 😀👍 I don't have this tool at the moment, which is why I tighten it by hand. But if you have a torque wrench, it would be better. Pressure plate torque: 20Nm.
"Yes, it's one of the symptoms of a bad flywheel. However, if you press clutch pedal, the shaking and vibration will either disappear or be reduced compared to before
Hi i Just changed on my Golf 5 1.9 TDI on the kit cltuch + single mass flywheel and after a day o found out is dropping oil between the transmission and the engine. You know what can be happening ?
"If the clutch is still working, it means the crankshaft seal is leaking, but only if oil is definitely dripping between the engine and transmission. However, if the clutch is gone, that means the slave cylinder is leaking."
Ce are volanta?
Using air to blow out all that clutch dust?! Not good. Clutch dust can be cancerous. Youre supposed to spray low pressure water mist (not garden hose etc) or brake cleaner, and collect that fluid containing the dust and bin it. Honestly, compared to that air method, youd be better off taking off the clutch and flywheel and wiping it down with a slightly damp rag. Basically, what the fuck man?! 😅

So glad i found this video, there are plenty out there for replacing a clutch in a 1.9 tdi. But this is the only one that lists the tools required!
Im gonna copy of you the Way you drop the gesrbox over the plastic deposit ....just briliant❤
Impresionante montaje de un embrague por un mecánico sin elevador. Desmontaje completo y sin aburrir.La grabacion muy buena. Enhorabuena

Thank you. This will help alot. You included some great details
Thankyou! I think the clutch on my 2008 Golf Plus 1.9 TDI needs changing soon, so hopefully it's going to be the same process.
so was it? I'm curious since the same awaits me in a few days...
@@mithrilsk I still haven't got round to it...definitely need to do it soon. None of it looks difficult, just time-consuming.

Most new clutch covers and flywheels have a coating of oil on them he never cleaned either with any degreaser

Hello, it was a very nice pressure pad replacement video. I wonder which model of Milwaukee impact driver you are using, I want to buy it.
Sorry for late answer

Any vibrations after single mass flywheel fitting ?
Didn’t found any difference..
I have the same issue with my one, passat 2004, is there anything else you did to fix it, or you just changed the tcm?
Veramente un metodo geniale 👍
Perfection! Thank you ❤
What is the engine code? I need info for BXE engine clutch. Do you have part number for your full clutch kit?
Helpful one , keep it up bro

Hi, roughly how long was the whole process?
Hi. If you have good tools and car not very rusty it take 4-5 hours.
Thanks
How much is conversion kit cheers
Not remember now but not more then £200
My leon arl 150 makes the same sound with 140.000 kms. What's the problem the fly whell the clutch ,the pressure plate?
If you car have same sound, it’s Flywheel problem. Better if you change all set: Release bearing, clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel,

Great stuff
Did you put locktight on the flyeheel bolts?
Locktight already applied on New bolts
Just torque
Hello replacement flywheel is dual or solid ?
Originally there is Dual mass Flywheel. I fit conversion kit ( solid flywheel)
bravo sir :)

Why not change rear main seal. It is clearly leaking. That is while in there item.
