PARALYZED TO BMX BIKE RIDING IN 10 MONTHS!

- We made it to 1 million subscribers! In honor of this milestone I said that I would get back on my BMX bike and ride at my skate park for the first time since my accident 10 months ago when I broke my neck, smashed my skull, had three brain bleeds, and was expected to be paralyzed from the neck down! I have been so lucky throughout my recovery but this video proves that there is light at the end of every dark tunnel you just need the will and determination to find it. I miss being a professional BMX rider but this video means that I will always be one I am so excited to see how much progress I can make in the future and I am so excited to keep filming UA-cam videos for you all! Thank you all for the love and support since the beginning I am so grateful for you all!

I don't know what's more amazing, Scotty's relentless desire to get better or Big Boy right by his side throughout the entire journey ready to pick Scotty back up if he were to fall, much like I imagine what Scotty was like for Big Boy when he started riding. Truly inspiring

I was diagnosed with lymphoma shortly after your accident and you have givin me the strength to push on , I'm now 6 months in remission after multiple rounds of chemo this Wednesday I'll find out the results to my 6 month scan and hopefully I'm doing as good as you . I hadn't paid any attention to extreme sports since Mat Hoffman was winning medals, and I get recommended a Scotty Cranmer video out of the blue, which got me to watch the whole saga of his accident and his recovery, and I am genuinely shocked to see the progress one man can make in such a short time.
All that is just to say, I barely know this dude and I'm actually proud to see his accomplishments. What an incredible feat, Scotty. You are an inspiration to me and very likely everyone who's kept track.

Dear Scotty: They say talent will get you in the door but character will keep you in the room. This made me think of you Scott, because it was your talent that initially brought us all to your channel but it is your character that keeps us coming back everyday. I can't think of a more selfless,humble,generous,caring guy than you. I have literally grown to love you as a person and I don't even know you and to me that is absolutely crazy to even say. 2 years ago if someone had asked me if there was ever a chance that I would ever feel this way about someone that I watch on UA-cam I would have laughed so hard and said heck no. Fast Forward to now and I am proud and have no shame in saying that I love the person you are. You not only inspire an entire generation but you have managed to pull off the impossible by growing your channel to 220,000,000 million views and 1,000,000 subscribers and you did it all without cussing ,without click baiting,and without any sexual content. I remember first coming across Scotty's channel a while back, I couldn't stop watching. His energy was just so positive and he has such a great attitude. A champion's mindset. He's top of the top ELITE class rider but always found ways to bring other people up to him and share the shine of that spotlight with others.
When he crashed, I saw people saying he'll never ride again, and will probably be wheelchair bound forever. I said screen shot my comment and mark my words he'll be riding his bike again within 1 year.
I promise you it sure as hell wasn't easy for him, but people with Scotty's iron strong mindset overcome these things. I've seen it before. Look up Dan Millman for one of dozens of examples. Shattered his leg and worked his way back into competitive gymnastic shape.
We gotta use people's tragedy like this as an example of the power of the human mind. Don't look for excuses why something can't be done. Stay focused. Stay positive. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve if you build a positive champion's mindset like Scotty's. No excuses.
That being said, I'm looking forward to scotty's first trick !

Before this all happened a while before I broke my arm but that didn't stop me on my scooter I was dropping in and doing 180s other people were surprised and I just knew I'm lucky that I could do that. I'm sure he felt the exact same :)

Congrats man. I was in a car crash a few years back and I broke my neck in multiple places like you. I got severe brain damage and was told I wouldn't survive. I was paralyzed head to toe. I can finally move my arms and hands very slowly. It's been 3 years now and still can't move my legs. I'm trying very hard and after hearing this story it's making me want to fulfill my dreams of walking again.

i was and i am 44. i am 44 years old and i am making bmx videos again and back on my bike because of scotty and his inspiration. made like 4 bmx videos this summer doing flatland and stuff because scotty and his crew inspired me to get back into my bmx as i have not rode much the last few years. he inspires my old ass and is my favorite rider. i was having the worst day today at my very stressful job as a chef on mt hood. and on lunch i watched this and it put me in such a better mood and made me realize even my hardest days are not what scotty went through.

Your positive attitude has made you a champion in all aspects of life...not simply BMX. Going from the best to nothing...and having to work....no...fight your way back to even get on a bike again...that's determination only a few in the world have. Many would be ruined...forever. But you do not stop. I watch your channel because of your extreme positive outlook. I love the way you take a young rider and cheer him on for even a simple trick...as if he just pulled off the most complicated trick. That's what makes you a champion...bike or no bike.

Every time i watch UA-cam i get brought to some random stuff that has nothing to do with my original search. Needless to say i am so happy to have found this. I raced motorcross and snowboard comps my whole life and got hurt many times but never like this. Now my children are 5 and 10 and started riding and i worry every day. Watching your video was an honor and brought tears to my eyes and that is something that usually doesn’t happen. To see your friends and family be there for you like this is just awesome. I watched your other video and now this one, your story is truly inspiring! I am glad to hear that you are able to get back on your BMX. I agree getting back on the bike is the first step but many people don't realize how hard recovery can really be, mentally etc.. I would have never imagined that an accident like mine would lead to this much long term damage.. But watching you achieve this really made my day well month or even year!

Amazing recovery! I'm so glad I discovered your channel, I've been BMXING for 42 years. I didn't get paralyzed, but every day is a struggle do to BMX, and dirtbike. From 15 feet up you can easily break a leg, without getting my arms in place quickly, the unthinkable could have happened.
