Scotty has accomplished so much, and despite major setbacks he is still riding and improving to this day. He could have walked away from BMX after being paralyzed but instead he is still in it and inspiring the next generation of riders with his youtube channel.
the progression is absolutely insane. having thousands of miles on the bike is insane nonetheless, let alone being paralyzed just less than 4 years ago. real role model right there. i wanna see him pump thru these tracks as a tribute. absolute legend. put him up there with dave mira
Absolute legend. His accident was majorly unfortunate, but his progression over the years has been amazing to watch and he brings great personality and knowledge in the booth. Hope he continues to be a part of x games for a long time. Wouldn't be surprised to see him do a lap around the course during practice for old times sake in the coming years.
Crazy to try and imagine what he would be doing now if it weren't for his accident, seeing his progress now is still so insane knowing he was told he might never walk again.
Scotty was the whole reason i got hooked on bmx. I was 11yo when i saw his 2013 run, and immediately i was hooked and asked my dad to get me a bike cause i wanted to do tricks on them too. After a few years when i was starting to be serious about riding, I came across Scotty's yt channel then from there i remembered that he was the guy that sparked my passion for bmx and ever since then i watch all his uploads and i also owe it to him cause he's one of the reasons i wanna keep improving. He's definitely one of my hero's
In my book Scotty will go down as one of the greatest of all time. A true legend in BMX. The stuff he did and continues to do has inspired a many. Scotty has not let anything stop him from being the best he possibly can.
I met him in 2007. One of the coolest guys ever. Funny thing is that I had no idea who he was. He actually approached me in Georgia because I had a sticker from a guy who tuned my car and he happened to use the same tuner in New Jersey. I even sold him car parts years later. Awesome guy and very humble.
A definite GOAT for sure. One of the best influences in BMX to this day, his legacy will continue for decades. BMX is so lucky to have a guy like Scott inspiring the next generation, and generations to come. True legend.
Scotty along with his side kick Big Boy are the Batman & Robin of BMX, running the most entertaining BMX channel on UA-cam. He has thrown the shackles of his accident off and continues to make the content that goes from strength to strength, he’s one of the most inspiring people in the game.
This dude is one of the most comfortable ppl I have ever seen on a bike!!! Just a pure natural, sad what happened but plz subscribe to him! Love his content and he has 1 of the best personalities in the WORLD!!!
truly a legend. even still today with how he's constantly pushing the big dog to progress on the Scotty Cranmer channel. solid dude all around and someone for the younger generation to idolize FOR SURE
I agree the new "park" set ups which are just bowls are lame and you see way less big tricks on them. I loved these set ups which were designed to get riders big air and big tricks
@@shaunmilor Was an old joke about Scotty's style, "slam poetry on a bike". He'd do something like a flair tailwhip and come down into a manual then from the manual do a fufanu on something, 360 out fakie manual, full cab barspin back into a fakie manual then he'd pull a whip out of nowhere land in a manual still and manual around an entire skatepark... slam poetry on a bike. The guy who his old style is rubbing off on is Big Boy. OBB has a long way to go but me and a few other people see how fast he's progressing and I'm personally noticing he's starting to do a lot of stuff like Scotty used to and that makes sense being that Scotty is like his mentor.
Scotty cranmer is the park bmx goat of this generation with all that he had accomplished. i’m from new jersey, grew up going to TIC and i remember every time i would go, scotty or marry would be riding and all eyes would be on them on every normal day
Grew up watching Scotty and still do every upload. He is truly inspirational in so many aspects of life I know he has a rough life compared to what he deserves but him trying to stay positive through everything and especially since hes getting back on the bike a lot more lately that's the positivity this world needs and with Matty racing I feel like he's passed on the torch and truly loves stepping back watching Matty grow in the sport. the excitement and enthusiasm he has while filming the races is why I will always watch his videos. He still is a major contributor to bmx a true legend.
I’ve been watching this guy forever. He’s inspired me in ways I couldn’t have ever imagined. I’m so thankful that he’s okay and still riding and recovering. Everyone go and check out his “can’t slow down” merch. I love supporting this guy.
I met Gary Young and I talked to him for about an hour and he said he thinks Scottys crash actually made him much more passionate and so much better of a rider and a person
4:48 - I was at XGames this year and went specifically for BMX Park. This was the year the sport died for me. They were trying to make consistency and flow the main focal points for the riders and it just killed the whole vibe. Just chaotic mini-runs that felt like some kind of circus. I remember the riders getting confused during the format too and also very frustrated.
I watched all three of these events live when I was mainly skating and BMX was a side interest, so when I came across Scotty's channel I knew the name and was blown away. Such a humble guy, just chillin with his friends, pushing them forward and making videos. Not even afraid to admit when someone had done an insane trick in a game of bike against him, an X Games gold champion. It really broke my heart to see him break his back in the 2016 X Games, the year I was finally able to watch it live again, and then to see everything that's happened since, but he's been so optimistic and just keeps pushing forward. It's really hard to do after a TBI like that, I've been there. You feel so lost to not be able to do so much that you did before, but Scotty has handled everything that's been thrown at him like a true champion. He refueled my interest in BMX in 2015, and he still does so today now that I finally have a bike and can start riding again. I don't think I'll ever be close to the level these guys are, starting back out at nearly 30, but as long as I can have the fun and the mindset that they do, that's still winning in my book.
901 to 0 for likes vs dislikes.. anyone who dislikes a video showcasing the legend scotty cranmer is either blind or not paying attention. This man was insanely talented. And i enjoy watching his recovery via his youtube channel. Seeing such a personal side of a living legend is awesome. Nothing but love and respect for this man and everything hes accomplished and everything he's been through and overcame!!!
Scotty is just one of the best riders I've ever seen, and now watch his channel coz hes a hero, lovely guy, given his whole life to bmx and we can't thank him enough for it! Legend
Scotty even though he had his accident which partially paralyzed him, for him to still be an inspiration to everyone and to share his stories is so cool. Heck when i got my new bike frame last year, i saw how he built his bike back in 2014 and i built my bike ALMOST the same way he did.
Love Scottie ❤️ Massive inspiration to me. Seeing what he's been through and smashing through the other side. Makes my daily struggles so much easier to deal with.
Scotty has to be one of the best BMX riders ever. He was just a beast out there, always trying daring and intricate tricks all the time and really pushing it to the limits. He truly was one of the the most amazing riders out there and I don’t care what people say about him after the accident, he still is.
Man i miss seeing him ride. Made everything look so effortless. Truly a humble human being that was extremly talented. Love watchin him progress thru his youtube channell
Scotty is a legend and has overcame so much. Some people would have just gave up and let the injury control their life but not scotty he has worked hard everyday to get better and get back to himself and I have so much respect for him. He overcame something that not many can do. You know X games maybe hit scotty up and see if he wants to announce one of these events or something I'm sure it would be nice to be able to be back around that atmosphere and enjoy what u love and did for many years.
Interesting to see how the crowd was way more hyped back in the days, probably there was even a bigger crowd. The golden days of action sports I think! I could watch clips of Scotty all day, he was such a great rider and he still is my favorite UA-camr!
Bro, Scotty is such a great person and even before his accident he still's wanna try to ride, respect that a lot, but he will always be a PRO BMX RIDER for us
I would add the run on big boy's ramp from yesterday's video to a best runs. He's made amazing transformation after he's accident. Much love. Thanks for making this.
Scotty is concrete mindset guy.He focus on basic of bike skills so many times just because he know what could go wrong when you take it to new step and his recovery has been amazing. He will be back with another X games gold medal may be in next few years, even more stronger and better. Hatts off what a incredible mindset.
I met Scotty a little bit over a year ago at a skatepark here in Florida. He asked If he could ride the miniramp with me. I saw him struggle to get up to the ramp as he apologized. we chatted for a second and he told me about his accident and his Vlog. I'm a skateboarder but i've since seen some footage of his pre accident but nothing like this. Geez!! I didn't know he was that gnarly! I'm watching this and holding my tears back. I can't imagine what he's gone through but I do know he's an inspiration and one tough M'efer!
