    I just began cash stuffing and I already have 1/3rd of my FEBRUARY rent covered, it feels strange being this far ahead on rent already bc usually I'm paying it all with one paycheck! it definitely helps and I can't wait to see what else I accomplish in 2024 with my cash stuffing journey.

    When I was married in 1983, I was recommended a book to read by Larry Burkett. This is where I learned about using the envelope system for financial freedom. While in college I incorporated the knowledge from his book into speeches for my speech class. My professor was impressed that I knew so much about finances at such a young age. I received an A in my class. I am still using the envelope system today. Thank you for a great video. You show how saving money can be fun!

    I started cash budgeting in January and have 600 saved already for different “sinking funds” for throughout the year I will need. As a single mom this has good for me and shows how much frivolous overspending I was doing.

    For sinking funds, look at what you paid on your CC are things that happen every year. Those are the funds I started saving for. I started by taking each amount, divide by 10, and save that amount each month. That way I'll have the money saved up before it's due. That's how I started a few years ago, and it made a big difference!

    This may sound like a silly question but if rent or mortgage is due on the first how do you split the payment into three? For instance January, due on first but paycheck on 5th and 19th would be late or is this on a month ahead schedule? I get paid once a month so it’s hard to budget for the next month without using my check for the current month.

    • @alittleofitall_
      @alittleofitall_  11 місяців тому +1

      Libby! Not silly at ALL! I totally understand what you’re asking- so essentially yes, to set it up you would have to be one month ahead. There are several ways to do that- you can work it into your budget saving over time. Some people do “side hustles”. But some don’t worry about it and budget just like you were saying! Thank you so much for watching, my dear! 💚

      Hey Robyn! This is a hard one. In my opinion, this is completely up to you. When we 1st started out- we did not have a buffer. One has accumulated now over time due to our utilities being under the budgeted amount. Some people also budget in a buffer when they are budgeting their paychecks. I would say start your buffer small and grow it! Budget out 10 to 20 dollars at a time (whatever your budget allows) and let it grow! I hope this helps! Thank you for watching! 💚

    How do you budget when you already live the bare minimum? We don't live above our means. I got my first hair cut in 2 years a week ago. We don't go on vacation etc. Date night? What is that? Self care for anyone in this house is hiding in there rooms alone. We pay our bills every Friday. We don't have debt.

      You can budget on any income- bare minimum or an abundance. We know from experience. A zero based budget is for everyone.

      I’ve been married 30 years, I’m a saver and my husband is a spender. So we have separate accounts. He pays the house and I pay all the other bills. This way I can save and he can spend and we’re don’t stress each other out. I finally got him on board putting a little in the safe every month when he gets paid when he saw how much I had soaked away last year in cash.

      @@renatal1972 well we currently do have seperate accounts because of that fact that the the spender. He does stress me out but because he gets stressed out. Thank you I’m not the only one with this problem. Which it may not be a problem since it can be worked out.

    How much is the best amount to start cash stuffing per day when you are just starting it, by yourself, and making about $500-700 per paycheck which is paid biweekly? And you have a lot of debt to pay off… and a spending problem….

    • @alittleofitall_

      Budget bills 1st, necessities 2nd, and I would do top 5 most important sinking funds after that! If you can only stuff 1 in them- that’s okay! It’s 1 dollar more than you had and any savings is good savings! I would also do snowball method for debt!

    I really want to start this. But I get so lost because I don't get "Set paychecks" and things are just a mess and hectic with my budgeting, I have no idea where to even start. I have an 8-year-old daughter, About to have surgery on my hip from a work injury and will probably be claiming bankruptcy soon. I need so much help with my budget, it's such a huge stressor in my life!

      Oh Alex I am so so sorry to hear all of this. This is so much! I can't imagine going through all of this. I will be praying for you for sure. If you're asking- I would start by tracking your expenses and seeing you how much you need for bills and necessities for each paycheck. I totally understand if you're not asking for advice and just needing to vent, though. You've got this though!! I know you can do it! 💚
