I love this man!! His eloquence, his knowledge, his wit, his demeanor, his sarcasm, just what a truly wonderful human being. His friendship with Christopher Hitchens and their interactions is where I first learned of him and I’ve listened to or watched most things he’s done! This man is a genius.
Saw Grimshaw today, coming round a corner entering New Bond St, Happy chatting on hands free ,old style, with the cords attached, He's a lot taller than you would think, Another DISH belter
The best "DISH" ever, Stephen fry is such a naturally funny guy, loved the end where I can imagine him like all of us in a cosy pub which turns out not so comfy....
Never knew horses and mayonnaise had so much in common: they know if you’re frightened of them. 😂 In the 1970s, I became a devoted fan of Greek Myth through the works of Edith Hamilton. Lucky younger generations to learn them through Stephen Fry: one of the best gifts the UK has given the world. Bless him all the way from Virginia, USA. 🙏💙
I have been listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks again since winter started. This man was so essential to my childhood! Can't wait to devour this entire episode!
While I have no personal passion for Greek history, I absolutely love listening to people expound on their interests ❤️🔥 it's a wonderful experience to see something through another person's eyes.
I had a 3 year old who adored olives, anchovies and mild pickled chillies. He also used to plead for Bendick's bittermints if he saw them. As he grew, he continued to expand his sophisticated palate. I can only think that he was copying the adults and that's how it started.
Fry is just such a treasure and trove of all the best qualities. He had a little issue narrating a line in the first Harry Potter book where it said that Harry 'pocketed it', so Rowling made sure to include that same phrase in all the sequels.
Love the shorts I've seen, but never watched a full episode. I will, however, take any opportunity to listen to Stephen talk about absolutely anything.
Stephen Fry. Is one of my celebrity choice of if you could spend a day with three celebrities who would they be? Stephen Fry, Sir Terry Pratchett, and Sir David Attenborough. The only thing is I would want three days with them rather than the one. Just to Eat and Talk with them about their interests, their world views, just to laugh. No cameras, just real conversation. Yes I know Sir Terry Pratchett has passed but I'm sure Discworld's DEATH would grant me three days. Lol That would be an AWESOME experience.
How is it POSSIBLE to END AN INTERVIEW with this man? I'm not complaining - I'm just saying that it would be impossible for me to ever say, "Okay! Enough!" with this one... 😍
I wanted to complain that the episode was shorter than usual... It actually just seemed shorter most likely because it was a really great one. It could have been a few hours long to be honest.
Stephen! We don't put marshmallows in mashed potatoes! We put them on top of yams or sweet potatoes that are pureed or mashed. Mashed Potatoes are always the regular white tubers-golden, russet, whatever-with some milk/cream, butter and salt, maybe garlic, but not normally.
One of my offspring is a real veggie fan! When she was kindergarten age and right before, when given the choice between a snickers bar and a cucumber, she would ALWAYS quickly grab the cucumber and inhale it like another child might inhale a chocolate bar. If she wanted savory snacks, she would not reach for the chips or popcorn (but she will reach for air popped 😖popcorn now). Instead, she will go to the fridge and grab a jar of stuffed olives or peppers - either banana peppers or jalapeños. Can you imagine a 5 year old munching on jalapeños? No need for bread or crackers, thanks. She DID and I learned to keep industrial sized jars in the house. No need for bread or crackers, thanks and NO it is not too hot. What a weird question, mom! Her preferences were unchanged (thus far) throughout her life, which DID get her in trouble with menopause and dangerously low iron levels. She needed to eat red meat and more iron, but she increased her spinach and we argued for years about this. She eats mostly fruits and vegetables and is now living in Europe and her first few months there she was kind of lost when grocery shopping. I am surprised to see peppers on a tapas plate, Nick! She called me from Spain’s neighbor and says ‘Mum, they don’t use spice here!’. I was SHOCKED!
Never have I wanted to hear a punchline more. What did Nigella say? I want to laugh today it’s -20° and over a foot of snow I need to warm up with laughter.
Oh I gasped when I saw Stephen Fry was on. He is my absolute favourite. I would jump into a fire for that man (not literally, but pretty close to that).
An absolut must see. Never clicked so fast before. I already love it before even watching it. Question: If you could spend time (not all the time) with only one person for the rest of your life who would it be? Me: Stephen Fry! I would host Stephen Fry for dinner anytime if he ever visits Copenhagen and give him a tour of the city too. P.S. Just started reading Mythos the other day for the third time and hope to get Odyssey for Christmas.
If you want to make mayonnaise to help you fall asleep then sure, make it the slow, slow way or if you like doing it that way at any time do it that way. Otherwise you can make it in a minute by putting the ingredients in a tall, narrow cylindrical container that just fits an electrical wand, start it at the bottom and whisk it up the container as the mayonnaise sets.
I've been saving, it's only minimum wage after all while I finish school, and I almost have enough for a guilt free night out at one of Angela's restaurants. I'm a little nervous about picking up the wrong fork but it's a graduation for myself and my partner. Our accents might be out of place but we're climbing the ladder to security together :)

This man is a world treasure !
If you’d asked me to choose a guest, it would be Stephen Fry. Loved this! Thank you x
The opening joke was lost due to the bleeping
Well that was 2 hours too short, would love much more of that chat! ❤❤❤
You can't show a full setup to a joke and bleep out the punch line! What's the point?
Stephen is my dream guest on anything!
WAS WAITING FOR THIIIIIS! WOOOOW! ❤❤❤❤ Angela some time ago said Stephen would come over

You should be afraid of horses, they are complete assholes.
International treasure Stephen Fry! I immediately clicked the thumbnail as soon as I saw it and was not disappointed.
The most delightful human being. This could have been 7 courses over 2 hours and I would not complain.

Stephen Fry iconic, fantastic episode! Also, I would love to see more of Angela prepping the food for the guests

Another Word same meaning starts with s
@@PaolaMaraia-uf8xrI’m still unsure of the word. Is the word starting with S stick??
A skinny b with grapefruit flavoured sodawater is my go-to. Somehow the subtle dry fruity aroma pairs lovely with the bitter notes of the vodka
It's a shame that anecdote made no sense, though, thanks to the bleeps.
Such a delightful guest! Witty, quick, and funny!
This one needed to be 2 hours, and Stephen should do more food related things, he’s so good at everything
Angela always does 4 plates - who has the 4th plate? Is it Angela's husband? We need some "dish" on that! 🙂

I'm curious - who is the fourth plate of food for?
I clicked so fast! Love! ❤
My daughter buys a dirty martini when she goes to drink in NYC. It has the best bang for the money. She only has to drink one!
Have to agree with the quality of Spanish cuisine, it cured me of being a picky eater as a child
I want to clarify that in the southern US the marshmallows ONLY go on sweet potatoes. 😂
I thought it was a rule that you never have red wine with a white fish! If it’s good enough for Stephen Fry then I humbly admit I was wrong.
With the cod or hake cheeks, considered a delicacy in the Basque Country, he refers to the "kokotxak"... which are not actually the cheeks of the fish.
The "kokotxak" are the part of delicate meat, in texture and flavour, that is found under the mouth and behind the chin.
I don't know if there is a word in English to describe that part.
What do you mean there’s no wrong answer to favourite pasta!? The wrong answer is obviously macaroni. Fight me.
Loved the video. Where's the Spanish or Basque food?
I CLICKED ON THIS SO FAST! I LOVE Stephen Frye! Now HE is a national treasure! ❤❤
It's pinxtos in the Basque country. Tapas is for the rest of Spain.
