This is honestly one of the best podcasts on the Internet. So genuine. I've watched Angela from early crazy Gordon days, to great British menu to some show on channel 4 where you turn up to some randoms house and cook them a leftover meal from out of date products. She deserves all the success on this planet. Brilliant show!
I have a massive belly laugh…. As a lady in my 60s it may be uncoming to some. But joy in your last trimester is deserved… Love this podcast soo much xxx 💙☺️💜💃
Just look at Angela, in the background genuinly getting the grub right, such a star. The other two getting the craic right and being entertaining, such a mix of talent, random but fantastic.
@@60AirflyteSo anyone who's made an educated effort to learn and be presentable is so affected? So Vicky pollard yeah but no but and it's oh my god there's so genuine and when it's someone charming like Stanley it's an act?
Imagine just sitting down drinking wine or Negroni and having the calibre of chef like Angela cooking for you along with a great conversation with Nick and Stanley Tucci… Heaven!!❤❤
I love what Stanley said about dispelling myths and educating people about food. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Scotland. The food was incredible! Everyone kept saying to me before I went "don't expect the food to be good" - just wild lol
My mother's mother was a Spain's civil war survivor, and she had a relationship with leftovers very similar, the only food I saw her throwing in the bin was bread when there was a big stale chunk of a loaf (many people don't nowadays, but when I was young most people bought the bread daily) and she kissed the bread before dumping it. She loved simple food, a favorite of hers were Oranges, she was a kid during the siege of Madrid, she and her sister were stranded there with no adults and they had a really hard time to get food, once a relief convoy from Valencia arrived and they managed to score some oranges. She always told us that was the best food she ever had.
Thank you for sharing. Hard to imagine what children went through on there own so often. I pray we can stop all wars and live together on this gorgeous planet in peace. ❤
Naaahh.. not gonna even pretend that i didn't squeak like a baby seal seeing Stanley on the show! 😂 Siobhan's bit on him is still one of my favourites.
I learned how to make spaghetti carbonara by watching Stanley Tucci. I always used to add extra stuff to it. But all it takes is spaghetti, spaghetti water, good parm cheese and pepper. Simple, simple, simple but SO freaking good.
Omg second time watching I saw the disembodied hand with the wine bottle. Reminds me that many lovely people are making this wonderful podcast. This is one of my favourite episodes. Thank you!
this guy is pure class.. the banter, thb during the pandemic socialization took a dive, and slowing picking up... and this chatting is something you don't realize how important it is connecting to other people until you loose it and cherish this moments with people... and social drinking of course...
Excellent! I love Stanley Tucci and am about to make his zucchini pasta dish..The beauty of Italian food ( e.g. Piemonte, Lombardia) is that it is healthy and can be made relatively quickly. Bravo for your great show! 🙄😍😍
In the words of the divine Siobhán Mcsweeney, "leave the man alone" 😂 Seriously, the BEST podcast known to humanity and this is the podvideo I've been waiting for. Thanks to Nick, Angela and the S:E Creative team, oh and Waitrose, for continuing to offer up exceptional content for us mere mortals 👍
What made me fall in love with Stanley Tucci was before he started the show he started to improve his Italian. I remember him saying that as a kid the family packed up and moved back to Italy for I think a year or two. This isn't in anyway shade to NY and NJ Italians but to claim being Italian but your 3rd generation, no one speaks the language yes you have Italian heritage but come on. Before everyone comes gunning for me I'll give you context. I'm 1st generation Maltese, we ate traditional Maltese food, we spoke to the family weekly. I live in London and I see my family 3 - 4 times a year. Maybe I'm a little critical but that's my perspective.
I agree. I was born in Spain, mum spanish, Dad British. We moved to the UK when i was 2. Visited spanish family every year. Sometimes múltiple times . I currently live in Spain now with my family. Im half spanish, because I was born here . Dad British as mentioned. It annoys me too, when new yorkers say they're italian because there 3rd Gen grandma came from Italy lol. They're not italian , they're american lol
@@FranciscaSánchez-w9i they're italian-american, they have Italian ancestry with American nationality, just as 4th-generation Japanese immigrants don't stop being Japanese. Not everyone can afford to travel back and forth, but people who claim their ancestry usually retain some of their culture in other ways. I think that it's good that they're proud of their heritage and background, they shouldn't have to abandon part of their identity just because they don't live in that country
@user-iw4yl7fp9p you've completely missed the point of what we were trying to say and for record it's been since living in the UK that I've been able to spend as much in Malta as I because its far easier than from Australia. Travelling back and forth has nothing to do with it. There are a huge population of Italian Americans who have never set foot in Italy, do not speak Italian or if do its Italian English but would make you think their parents arrived in the 50s and 60s. When it turns out in reality it was their great grandparents who emigrated and because you have an Italian tattoo, went to catholic school etc etc they will say how Italian they are. They aren't they are American with Italian heritage not even Italian American.
@@Lisammifsudyeah for a lot of them that's because their culture was stolen from them because of the experience that their great-grandparents had immigrating here. Please understand, I'm Not disagreeing with you but I just think that it's important that we understand the racial and cultural makeup of the United States at the time that they immigrated here and maybe cut them a little slack for not being as Italian as youd like them to be considering the fact that many families didn't teach their children Italian so that they would not be discriminated against or treated differently for being Italian. A lot of the italian-americans of like my father's generation didn't have the privilege of growing up with the language because of the cultural makeup of the United States and the way the United States treated the Italian population. It's not to say that they should be claiming to be something that they're not but rather than in their attempt to reconnect sometimes people do go too far, and we have to be aware of WHY that is and HOW it impacted Italian Americans and Italian American culture. It's an entirely different thing calling yourself Italian-American in the United States than it is calling yourself Italian in the UK because our views on race and the culture surrounding race and ethnicity and nationality are just so vastly different and have been very much shaped by a uniquely American experience of being from an Italian family.
my only complaint about this show is that episodes aren’t NEARLY long enough 💔 i would gladly sit through hours of these two and their guest munching and chatting
I think this is the only podcast I’d love to be on… And I don’t cook! They are fabulous, and I love all the laughter! Imagine being at the table on this day! Love Stanley!
Delighted I found your podcast, i immediately subscribed. I adore Mr Tucci, he always shows his zest for life and he is so lovable! Looking forward to more of your broadcasts and meals!
08:38 When Stanley said that his daughter doesn't touch tomato sauce but would eat tomatoes, it reminds me of my fear of whole beef meat but I would gladly eat corned beef. 😂
What a hoot and the story of Michelin starred restaurant reminds me of a few occasions were have had, ahem, contratemps at the dining table when faced with levels of pomposity and preciousness one simply gasped in disbelief. Its why, when we lived in SW1, we went back time after time to what we regarded as reliable restaurants such as Petrus, Kibris Mangal and, dare we say, Murano! Love the podcast.
When I first listened to this episode on Spotify, I LOL’d when they were teasing Angela “Oh is that the Michelin star?” 😂 Watching it now is just as funny, and really one of the best episodes out there. Chemistry b/w them 3 is unparalleled.
Love Stanley. Love this show. I've never wished to be part of something as much as I wish to be a dinner guest at that dinner party with Stanley, Angela, Judi, Maggie and Nick. ❤❤❤
Soooo good! I really think you guys could go to about 45 mins without any loss of quality or our attention, happily put up with a Waitrose ad intermission to get another 20 mins....
I only "see" him as the character he played in the movie, "The Core" every time I watch him in anything; I think it's the tone and cadence of his voice that gets that response from me. Thought I would share. LOL.
I absolutely love Stanley. He must please visit one of Andrei Lussmann's restaurants. He'll absolutely love the food. Sustainability and locally sourced is what Andrei is passionate about. I've been a fan since Andrei opened his first restaurant in St Albans. I now live in South Africa so I'll have to vicariously live through others to enjoy Andrei's delicious food 😊
Terrific actor and interesting man. I always enjoy listening to him talk, I think because he comes across as part of quintessential New York. (Actually saw him on a NYC subway years ago, by himself and wearing a gorgeous navy pinstriped suit. Fantastic body, from what I could see. I usually have no problem saying hi to famous people, but thought better of approaching him. 😂)
