      I went to a Mattress Firm Clearance and got the opposite treatment, but I totally get what you are saying. Until that guys respects the process he will continue to lose his store customers.

    • @-sensibleChris
      @-sensibleChris 2 роки тому +2

      Same today. Salesperson was kind of smug, and scoffed at my $1000 budget. She said they don't carry the high end mattresses on display at her store because people in our community won't buy them. There were mattresses priced at $5000 in the store so how much is a "high end" mattress.
      I certainly don't mind paying for quality, but the only quality mattress I ever bought was purchased 25 years ago, and has no pillowtop, and is STILL as comfy as day 1. It was the least expensive mattress in the store, and I even got another 10% off at the time. I was young and on my own and I had slept on a foam pad on the floor up to that point. My daughter sleeps on that mattress today, and it is much more comfortable than the one my wife and I have that cost 3 times as much and is just a few years old. It really sucks that mattresses and appliances are made to break down every few years now😑. I think I'd rather buy a 300 dollar foam mattress every few years than take a chance on a 1500 dollar one that may not last any longer.

    • @eltonnoway7864
      @eltonnoway7864 2 роки тому +1

      I also got the opposite treatment. The salesman was very friendly an not pushy in the slightest sense. He said to let him know if we had any questions then let us walk the store for over half an hour and never bothered us once. As we headed for the door we told him we wanted to shop around and would come back if we wanted to do more research. He said "Not a problem", and reminded us a mattress purchase was an expensive purchase that we would live with for many years and do do it right." He gave us his business card and said to call him if we had any questions. FACT: The Mattress Firm is like any other brick and mortar store who have people working in their establishment. Each sales person is a unique individual, some people are jerks, pushy and/or obnoxious and only interested in their commission, while others are pleasant, helpful, concerned and trustworthy. Don't blame the store franchise, blame the parents of the jerk who raised the obnoxious individual. Anyway.. in the end we went back and purchased a super nice bed... delivered... for a total less than $1900.

    Only have disagreed with your advice. It’s about the so called cool gel memory foams. Yes, they’re cooler to the touch, at first, but after a few minutes they heat up just as bad as a standard memory foam mattress. It may take a few minutes longer, but they still heat up. Latex and a standard coil spring type mattress will do a better job of keeping you cool. Also, when you lay on the mattress, plan to spend some time on it. A couple minutes is no where near enough time to get a feel of a new mattress. Plan to spend a good 15 minutes to half an hour if you can. Move around on the bed as you sleeping. Also, ask if you can bring you pillow from home and use it when test the feel of the mattress.

    • @melvinwong2232

    • @DBE008
      @DBE008 Рік тому

      He didn’t say cool gel memory foam. He mentioned foam being hot and why. He mentioned gel and latex for cooling if your body is warm when you sleep.
      Sterra has triple cooling I saw it on their website but has very little reviews. Lots of reviews for their other products like water filters.

    • @jamesmchugo9422
      @jamesmchugo9422 Рік тому

      @@DBE008 cool gel, gel same difference real. And they heat up, almost as fast as regular memory foam. I had one, hated it. It’s more sales gimmick than support. If it’s plastic and all of the memory foam or gel type mattresses are some form of plastic they will heat up. They also start to lose there support in a few years. They will look fine, but when you lay on them, in my case it took about 3 1/2 maybe 4 years, the mattress started killing my back. I woke up with sore lower back. I tried an expensive 3 inch cool gel mattress topper, that was just as hot to sleep on, it did help my back but gave me sore shoulders and hips. I now have an all natural latex rubber mattress. So far so good. When I first got it I got a medium, medium firm mattress. But after sleeping on it about a month, found out I needed a softer bed. The company I bought my mattress from has been working with me to customize it. What I ended with is a softer more of a medium, medium soft mattress Great support, very soft to sleep on. I’m normally a hot sleeper, but it’s not bad on this, plus unlike my memory foam with the so called “cool gel” infusion, (total BS) I can move around on this mattress. I don’t wake up sore and I always feel rested. It’s important to get a 100% all natural rubber from a tree latex. You got to do your research when buying latex foam mattresses. They can be as much as 70% synthetic, (plastic), and still be called natural latex. I’m completely sold on mine, so far so good. I’ve had mine about 6 months now and it’s been worth even penny.

I had to purchase a new a few yrs. Ago that had no chemicals on it , cost me 4,000 dollars and it so hard I can't sleep on it , It would really be nice if mattress co. Would do away with applying these toxic chemicals to there mattress 's.or a company would open up a store on the east coast so a customer could actually lay on one instead of having to buy out of a catalog and have wasted there money on a mattress that fells like your sleeping on concrete every night.

Lesson learned and it cost me $2k. First mattress was a Tommy Bahama the second was a Sealy. The outlet store will lie to you that it is covered. Call your prospective mattress dealer and find out if they will cover it.
