Great tip. going to give that a try A tip back is once clean use Rain-Ex on the screen. It reduces the effort of the wipers even if mud gets on the screen and in many instances you can drive in rain with out wipers at all.
That method does work well. I’ve done that several times also. Another method that works well is scrubbing the windows with a bar of Lava soap and using 99% isopropyl on the wiper blades. The lava soap scrub will also remove hard water spots. Clay bar does work well on everything though including glass and paint.
Hello buddy my car windshield has a big rainbow spot my ac is over the top of the car the water drip from ac fall on windshield what can i do for the spot to clear clean help
Steel wool is not a good idea on a lot of the newer cars. You can damage the effectiveness of safety systems as the front glass works as part of the sensor system for many of them.
When I used to smoke I would check the fallout contamination on paint by putting 2 fingers in the cellophane wrapping a glide it over the paint. I think it worked better than a plastic bag.
I used to do similar with fine steel wool, razor blade bird bug crap off first, but always wiped down blades when at gas station doing the quick clean on trips and nearly every time had passenger, was first time they seen that done.. I said tired of buying wiper blades??? Just picked up some clay bars this year, never used before, if that bar collected the crud do you toss it after, is it junk now?
I don't think I know what a clay bar is. Where do you buy one and are there different types? Can you ise it on the inside windshield? Thats the one I have a terrible time getting streak free. Anxious to try it.
Had the same problem with streaks. Until I watched a UA-cam video with someone using only hot water and a little washing up liquid. Worked amazingly well and never had streaks since. Worth a shot if you still have these issues.
Hey i need help man, my windscreen is leaving streaks when i switch on the wipers....though the Windscreen is getting clean from water, but some kind of FOG is staying on the windscreen, from which its very difficult to see out of...when it rains, and you use ur wipers
@@eastwoodco Yes, it's only happening when i turn the wipers on, I've bought a clay bar set just to try to get it off, but a car mechanic said, my glass is damaged and needs Buffing/Machine Polishing .
What grit is this claybar? Can I use a 300 clay bar for my front windshield? 2013 Honda Accord with 114k miles original owner and never ceramic coated. It's been my daily driver beater car.
There is wax (or SOMETHING) on mt windshield. You can see it in all lighting but it's really bad in certain light/angles. I've tried...... intense rubbing wirh alcohol, acetone, gasoline, clay bar and 9% hydrochloric acid toilet cleaner. NONE of that has removed it! I'm just gonna wond up getting a new windshield because this is permanent! 😡
Great tip. going to give that a try

Never saw the bag trick, I've used 4 ought steel wool to do the same for years, clay bar sounds great also.
Yes! that will work too!

@@Slking507I wondered about that. It seems that the newer cars’ windshields are more susceptible to road grime.

oh nice!
Yeah we use to do the same thing after sanding particle board
The passion of windshield
i feel called out
Nice vid. Well done.. Gonna give it a try. Thanks man👍.
After you’re done using the clay, can you reuse it or do you have to throw it away since it has window cleaner on it?
You can re-use the clay a bunch of times before replacing.
@@eastwoodco thats what I thought but wasn’t taking any chances thanks so much

No. You fold it over to clean spot. Keep till it is all dirty.
They also sell a clay ball that is easier to hold in your hand. Then just wash afterwards & let dry. Bought it to do my car.
Will that easily take Off the water spots too?
Love your products
The ink from the newspaper is the best to clean any type of glass...
Also you can rub some transmission fluid on old wiper blades to rejuvenate the rubber and make them good for a little longer 💪🏼
We've heard that too but would recommend just getting new blades, you don't want to have transmission fluid smearing up your windshield.

Have you ever claybar the window that has the radio antenna built in it
I use a glass polish with a buffer and it works good for
nice!
You should mention not in the hot sun doing this.
ohh good call!
Isn’t that obvious to anyone with half a brain?
Would a clay bar work to remove old latex paint that got embedded in the glass and has made the glass appear foggy?
No guarantees but it won't hurt the glass so it's worth a try.
Will this help stop my wipers juddering in the wet?
Couldn't hurt!

We have a "Fine" Clay bar that should do just the trick

can I reused the clay bar? TY
Yes, many times. Plain plumbers putty works too and is a lot less expensive.
Thanks. Next time I go over to mom and dad’s house I will clean her windshield and not say a thing.
Why would you do that?
@@dwallen2012 the real question is ‘why wouldn’t YOU do that.

Didn’t work for me
Fresh wiper blades straight out of packet will have that black junk on them.
use news paper instead of paper towels.
A buddy taught me that trick 25 years ago . It takes a little while to get the paper saturated to work correctly but it is a streak free finish

its those things you put in the bottom of birdcages @@frankh.3849

You can use #0000 steel wool and a window cleaner, that is very good at getting that kind of stuff off glass.
🤔
Use nitrile gloves
I just use waterhose
I have also used razor blades and 4xxxx steel wool ,old school.
