- Learn how to get your windshield super clean! The windows of your car or truck are what you look out of and it is important that they are clean. When you clean the windshield with my method the rain beads up and rolls off the windshield leaving great visibility. Bugs and bird poop come off really easy with one wipe of a towel. Even ice wont stick to the glass so no more scraping ice on those cold days!

@Casper Gomez You have to clean and dry the windshield before using rainx. I had to use rainx spray and paper towels to clean mine and then apply the rainx spray. My wiper motor burned out while driving smoke everywhere. Carefully got to Walmart and applied as I stated above and went home no problems didn't need my wipers. If I had used wipers you have to clean the windshield.

Another outstanding video by ChrisFix. I'm watching the entire "clean the car" series, taking notes, and implementing the directions before winter sets in here. Smart, practical, simple, effective techniques. One of the highest quality channels on UA-cam. Keep up the good work, sir!
I'm about 4 hours deep into your videos. Amazing work. I cannot wait to start caring for my car even half as much as you do. I wish there was a record of how many micro fibre cloths you have used in your time.
The real trick is cleaning the inside of the windshield!
Use some foam spray glass cleaner and a lintless shop towel, like they sell at Walmart. It also really helps if you get one of those triangle shapped microfiber on a stick to help wipe the area at the base of the windshield and at the very top of the windshield. These are also great for getting the inside of the rear window, too.
@Kanzen Александр I have a vagina beard.
that to.
Yeah you'll look through the windshield and think it's clean but then drive at night or get full glare and know that it's not. I don't think you would want to wax the inside but maybe I'm wrong.
Duh.….but Chris did explain how to clean your inside windshield in another video!
Hey Chris Fix.

You are good bro. Informative, simple and real easy to understand.
Keep up the good work, because there is no doubt you are helping loads of people here.

Cuda Kidd Thanks a lot man! I really appreciate it! What muscle cars do you restore and do you have a dream/favorite muscle car?
I pretty much restore anything that a customer has. I am supposed to be a Mopar guy but for now, i have a collection of Trans am's covering 3 generations, and for customers i am doing C3 and C5 Corvettes and i have 2 Mustangs in. Both 66 cars.
My ultimate dream car is the 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible. Do i own one? I wish bro. I do have a 70 hemi Cuda 4 speed hard top though, in B5 blue with the blue interior and a white vinyl top. In need of a resto but will be worth it when its done.
www.outlawmusclecars.com
FYI, I really like your C4. I have customers here in England with C5's and they are great, but i would like a later model C4 because they are rare over here. Lots of C5's, but i like to stand out
Cuda Kidd Thanks man! They are great cars! The C4 has such a different feel compared to the rest of the Vettes!
Cuda Kidd There was nothing wrong with the C 4, when it came out it was one of the best handling cars of it's day. You can still get very good deals on them, especially the last couple years of them when they actually had pretty powerful engines compared to earlier years.
My observations after detailing cars for years and trying various waxes... Wax tends to leave bigger water drops that join together and are harder to see through because they are less uniform and larger. They also sit on the window larger because they are bigger and it takes for force for the air to blow them off while driving. Rain-x makes the droplets go into smaller beads that are more consistent in size and spacing and it is easier to see through the droplets, and they blow off easier while driving. This is just my observation on using a few different types of waxes. (Perhaps different types of waxes produce different results.) Based on my observations rain-x provides better visibility.
Great analysis, thanks
SUPER IMPORTANT TIP:
If you just bought an older used car DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT use wax on your windshield. It will fill all the tiny dings and crevices, creating a bunch of white spots that (so far) cannot be removed and it will make it look even dirtier.
Thought I would share to make some good of my mistake and hopefully prevent others from doing the same. Although, on the upside, the windshield is definitely hydrophobic! :^)
If you know any ways on removing wax from dings, please let me know.
Buy a new windscreen!
Maybe use ceramic coating?
Same thing here. Wax did not dry after 20mins and I had to remove it with soapy water i big pressure on windshield. This wax was mistake…
I am not sure if I got all of it off because it now raining outside now
a hair dryer will melt the wax, use your microfiber cloth to remove it once melted, you only need a few seconds of heat, do not apply heat for longer than that.
Seen in other videos an actual side-by-side comparison between wax and Rain X and it looks like Rain X seems to be the winner. Regardless of which one's better at repelling water, Rain X might be the way to go if you're worried about potential windshield dings?

Hey @ChrisFix I just wanted to say thank you I watched two of your videos last night before left work I just started detailing cars and this is my first time I’ve noticed how terribly smeared and smokey the windshields would get after I cleaned them I didn’t really use the extra steps to protect the glass I just did the wipe down with a microfiber and washed it with the technique you used and I saw an instant improvement I’m really surprised how quick it was and how great it turned out
I just did this process today on my car, and oh my. I also did your interior super clean as well. Those 2 processes as well as restoring my headlights, I can actually see at night. You know, if people did this to their windows & restored their headlights, they might not have to resort to installing illegal HID systems & LED lamps in to halogen cages. Wow, thanks a ton for this & your channel. Thank you!
I appreciate the time you took to share your expertise!
One of the most important lessons you can teach a new driver is how CRITICAL having a clean windshield is (all windows actually). The difference in visibility is unbelievable. It also reduces eye strain during long drives - especially at night and with how much brighter headlights have been getting.
And using wax or Rain-X can save lives. One of my friends was driving into NYC across the Pulaski Skyway and a truck kicked up muddy water. Had his windshield not been treated with RainX, he almost certainly would have run into a concrete barrier and gotten killed.

Good tips... as an alternative, you can clean the glass and then use Meguiars Ultimate Quik spray wax, then lightly buff with a microfiber cloth. Gives the windshield the same slick surface that allows it to bead and roll off water droplets. A bit less labor with almost the same results. And the Ultimate Quik spray wax won't leave white residue on black plastic and trim pieces around the windshield.
Thanks a lot for the tip!
